An actor, TV personality & singer, Abdallah Al Shahani has been arrested by the authorities for dabbing during a concert, Okaz News reports.
Abdallah took part in a music concert in the City of Ta’iff where he pulled off the dab.
In the now viral video, Abdallah puts down his microphone in order to encourage the audience to clap along.
He then rolls his arms and performs the ‘dab’, while the audience cheers him on. A lot of artists, celebrities, and even athletes in countries around the world dab while expressing themselves.
Dabbing is a simple dance move or playful gesture, in which a person drops their head into the bent crook of a slanted arm while raising the opposite arm in a parallel direction but out straight;
However, Dabbing is banned in Saudi Arabia where authorities consider it a reference to drug culture. A video of Mr Al Shahani’s dab became popular on social media and thousands have tweeted about the incident.

The Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has awarded a scholarship to Chinecherem Cynthia Ali to study in any school of her choice, after she made straight A’s in her WAEC. Cynthia is a student of Shalom Academy, Nsukka, Enugu State.
In his statement the Governor advised students in the state to our children to see Cynthia’s achievement as a morale booster that will spur them to higher heights of achievement.
“I was excited beyond measure when news got to me that a young girl from our dear State made A1 in all her subjects at the last West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations,” he said.
I was excited because as a leader of the people, our vision has been to lay the foundations that does not just encourage but also rewards excellence across all spheres of endeavour.
Cynthia Ali has in no small measure made the entire state proud and her achievement is a demonstration of how our dear state can become great again with exemplary performances such as hers. And I am convinced that what she has done will become a shining beacon of examples that those coming behind her can copy and in the process lift their families, the entire state and the nation.
As a measure of how happy our Government is about the achievement, the State Executive Council (EXCO) at the hallowed Chambers of the Council invited her for commendation. The Nigerian Police has tagged Charly Boy’s slump during his Resume or Resign protest, as being over dramatic, as he only did that for the camera.
Recall Charly Boy was captured on video, falling on the chair he was sitting on after police officers teargassed him and 9 other protesters demanding that President Buhari, who has been away from the country for almost 100 days for medical vacation, resumes or resigns.
Reacting to the development, the Force’s PRO Jimoh Moshood, when he appeared on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily said miscreants took over the protest and police had to get involved to prevent disorder.
“We can see over-dramatisation by the leader of the protest (Charly Boy) who was sitting on a chair and decided to fall down because the camera was coming to his side,” Jimoh said.
Despite several months of medication and intensive care in the United Kingdom (UK), President Muhammadu Buhari’s doctors are yet to diagnose what the president’s illness is all about.

The failure of the presidency to tell Nigerians the actual state of health of the president has fueled speculations in the country with many alleging that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is guilty of what it accused the then ruling party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) when the late President Umaru Yar’Adua held sway.
But according to ERICGOSSIP.COM, “Those accusing the presidency of being economical with the truth on the actual state of health of the president are missing the point because you can only disclose what you know.
“As at today, nobody knows the kind of ailment battling Mr. President. Even his doctors in the UK don’t know what is wrong with him. Lots of tests have been done; in fact they have done everything humanly possible but they still can’t detect what is wrong with him. That is why the doctors have decided to place him under long observation to see if they can diagnose what is wrong with him on the long run.
“For those of us who are close to President Buhari, he can’t stay for a long time without food. He doesn’t have the endurance for long fasting and that is why those referring to him as a religious fanatic are wrong. Here is a man who doesn’t joke with his food but suddenly once he takes a spoon, he throws up. And you know if you don’t eat for a long time, you become weak and emaciated.
“When the condition became critical, they have to devise other means of feeding him, but we’re happy at the level of significant progress he has made in the last couple of weeks”, he said.
He also debunked the claim by some online news media that the president is being treated for acute prostate cancer or battling with Crohn’s disease, a medical condition that could have affected his digestive system.
“From the information we have, every organ of the president is working perfectly. The only problem is his inability to eat well due to loss of appetite. That is why some people are alleging that the president may have been poisoned or under some kind of spiritual attack”, he noted.
Although President Muhammadu Buhari’s first active year in office which was from May 29, 2015 to 2016 was frost with some minor challenges, especially delays associated with appointing his cabinet members, the frustrations and criticism that greeted it left much to be desired.
No sooner had he sorted out some of these issues to settle down to the business of governance came his health challenges.
The first time he took a vacation to undergo medical check-up in London, the United Kingdom was in February 2016.
He left the shores of Nigeria for the United Kingdom for a six-day vacation from February 5 to February 10, 2016. After a formal letter was written to the National Assembly leadership he transferred powers to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, had explained that the letter to the National Assembly was in compliance with Section 145 (1) of the Nigerian Constitution.
The spokesperson had assured Nigerians of the well-being of the president and the need not to panic over the state of his health.
He had hinged the vacation on the need for the president to take a break from work as he had worked non-stop for eight months and could break down like every other person.
On January 19, 2017, shortly after resolving the leadership crisis in The Gambia, where Yahaya Jammeh was recalcitrant to hand over power to his successor, President Buhari fell ill again and had to leave the country on another vacation.
As usual, he wrote Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, before bidding Nigeria goodbye to examine his health on January 23, 2017 to be precise.
Nigerians were sympathetic and in fact showed understanding that the president needs to take care of his health issues so that he could function maximally as the nation’s leader.
However, when the 10-day medical leave began to extend to several weeks, rumours began to fly over the actual date of his return, deepening suspicions that his health was far worse than officials were publicly admitting.
Finally, on March 9, 2017, the president returned to wild jubilations in some parts of the country and to the relief of Nigerians.
Despite attempts by his spokesmen to conceal his health challenges, Buhari revealed to Nigerians when he came back that he had never felt “so sick” in his entire life.
Upon returning, his absence in public functions, including skipping the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meetings gave room for more speculations, prompting concerned Nigerians to suggest he take another leave to rest more and recover fully.
Upon return, he said, “I deliberately came back towards the weekend, so that the Vice President (Yemi Osinbajo) will continue and I will continue to rest. All I will need is to do further follow ups within some weeks.”
Having weighed options available to him and sensed that Acting President Yemi Osinbajo was doing well in the governance of the country, Buhari jetted out again, shortly after he took inventory of 82 school girls abducted by the dreaded Boko Haram sect in Chibok, Borno State in April 2014.
He left on Sunday, May 7, 2017, and has spent about 94 days undergoing medical care also in the UK.
Despite the fact that the acting president, some caucus members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), including the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun and selected governors who have gone to pay him solidarity visit and came back with assurances that he would soon return, the date for his eventual return is still unknown.
Western Cape Police, South Africa have confirmed the death of a 26-year-old woman who went missing two weeks ago.
Her family said Aviwe Jam Jam fled Khayelitsha, Cape Town in July, to escape her abusive boyfriend, Linda Nolili. She was last seen in the Summerville area in Kuilsriver after visiting Nolili.
Jam Jam’s body was identified by her family on Tuesday, August 8th, after it was found dumped at the Vygieskraal Stadium, Athlone, on July 29, roughly 24km from her home. She had been brutally beaten to death.
Captain FC van Wyk, who confirmed the incident said that the post mortem still needed to be concluded.
“On Monday, the body was identified by the family as that of the missing 26-year-old Aviwe Jam Jam who was reported as missing on 2017-07–22 at Mfuleni SAPS,” said Van Wyk
The boyfriend was arrested last week in connection with several other cases and is being investigated in connection with her murder, he said.
Marking Women’s Day on Wednesday, Minister of Police Fikile Mbalula visited the family at their home.
He spent more than an hour talking to them in private. Later, he told journalists that police had been looking for the boyfriend in connection with other cases.
“We will never be ruled by criminals and criminals will not rule anybody. We will find them and we will bring them to book. Their days are numbered.
“These people are not enemies to each other, but the devil has come to this community and done the things that they have done to the Jam Jam family …terrorised them.”
Aviwe’s aunt Nondumiso Zizi said her niece had told her mother that she had left for Pretoria and that she should not look for her because she was hiding from her boyfriend.
Zizi was unable to confirm when Aviwe left Khayelitsha. She said Aviwe and her boyfriend had been together for “several years” and have a 2-year-old child.
“Aviwe was in an abusive relationship with this boyfriend. Aviwe’s mother tried to warn Aviwe of this, but she wouldn’t listen. She loved [her] boyfriend, so there was nothing we could do about it.”
“Aviwe’s mother suspected that Aviwe won’t come [back] alive because the way the boyfriend was treating her.”
She said the boyfriend had come to their home looking for Aviwe and had attacked her stepfather because he thought the family was hiding Aviwe.
Zizi said the boyfriend and a group of friends attacked the stepfather with a panga and he had to get 12 stitches.
“He [the stepfather] was bleeding and the whole yard was full of blood because of them and the boyfriend climbed on top of him and said they should kill him.”
The boyfriend was arrested shortly after for assaulting the stepfather, said Mbalula.
During the visit, Aviwe’s mother Nomthandazo Jam Jam, 56, proudly showed journalists a photo of Aviwe at her graduation.
Aviwe attained a tourism degree from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT).
Nomthandazo said Aviwe would be missed because she always “brought life” to her home.
Mbalula urged women to report abuse and assault to police as soon as possible.
“Women, stand your ground because if you put up with abuse, you are putting up with death,” Mbalula warned.
A Nigerian guy, identified as Folorunsho Olatilu is filled with thanks to God after he survived a fatal motor accident along Akure highway on Sunday, August 6th.
The accident which involved a commercial bus – left some passengers dead and many others injured.

A man has abandoned his 4 children at the Agege LGA Area A Maternity Office, with a short note in their hand, asking the local government authority to carter for them because he can no longer fend for them, due economic hardship.

A man suspected to be an accomplice of a fake pastor has said he was contracted to kidnap a virgin girl for ritual purposes.
During a Police parade , an alleged fake pastor of a white garment church in Sagamu , Kehinde Onayiga , and 55 other suspects were paraded by the Ogun State Police Command at its headquarters , Eleweran , Abeokuta on Thursday.
The suspects ’ offences allegedly range from ritual killing to kidnapping , cultism , armed robbery and impersonation.
Among the suspects paraded by the state Commissioner of Police , Ahmed Iliyasu , was Onayiga , who is alleged to have a hand in the killing of a 13- year – old girl , Anuoluwapo Ajisafe , for ritual purposes.
He alleged accomplice , Musiliu Jibril , reportedly lured the victim to Onayiga ’ s church where she was said to have been murdered.
Jibril confessed to journalists that it was Onayiga who contracted him to source for a female virgin , who he wanted to use for ritual purpose , in preparing some fetish materials for some Internet fraudsters.
He said , “ I was able to lure the girl because she knew me and the mother, too , knew me.
“ It was the pastor (Onayiga ) that contracted me to help him get a female virgin for ritual . He told me he wanted to prepare some charms for some Yahoo boys.
“ I delivered the girl to him in his church at Sagamu . He promised to pay me N 20, 000 , but I am yet to get the money . ”
Onayiga , dressed in white garment , and holding two goat horns wrapped in red cloth , denied the allegation , saying , “ It is a lie . he did not deliver any girl to me in my church. ”
Onayiga said he trained under an Islamic cleric before branching out to start a white garment church.
Asked what he used the fetish -looking goat horns wrapped in red cloth for, he responded, “ I used them to pray for those that are sick and are brought to my church for healing. ”
The teenage girl , Anuoluwapo , was said to have been missing since June 21 , 2017 and her whereabouts remains unknown till date.
Another suspect paraded for murder/ ritual killing was Bakare Olalekan , who was linked to the killing of a 16-year – old girl , Olayinka Adebayo, in Ijebu area , and reportedly sold her heart to ritualists .
Iliyasu said four members of the syndicate were already in police net , while the suspect (Olalekan ), had confessed to selling two human hearts to one of them.
He said he bought one of the human hearts for N 10, 000 from a friend called Oye .
Also nabbed were a mother , Mulika Alaba and her 16 – year -old daughter, Olamide Saliu , who allegedly dealt in Indian hemp.
A bag of Indian hemp was allegedly recovered from them.
Iliyasu said in a bid to curb criminality in the state , the command had deployed tactical and covert operatives from the Federal Special Anti -Robbery Squad , Police Mobile Force , conventional policemen , intelligence unit and Anti -Kidnapping/ Cultism to the length and breadth of the state
A Malaysian man could face a sentence of over 12,000 years in jail if found guilty of 626 charges of sex assaults against his teenage daughter, officials said today.
It took two days for court officials to read out all 626 charges against the 36-year-old divorcee. They finished reading the charges this afternoon. The charges include 599 charges of sodomy against the 15-year-old girl, as well as counts of incest, rape and other sex crimes.
The man is said to have sexually assaulted his eldest daughter, several times a day in their apartment in Sungai Way, Petaling Jaya between January and July this year. The accused divorced the girl’s mother two years ago and had custody of the victim while his two younger daughters are staying with their mother. It was his ex-wife who reported his alleged crimes to the police and the man was arrested on July 26.
The suspect pleaded not guilty to the charges and the case will now proceed to trial. For each charge of sodomy, the father can be punished with a maximum jail term of 20 years, as well as caning. He faces a rape charge that carries a maximum sentence of 20 years, and 30 other charges of sexual assault, each punishable by up to 20 years in jail.
“He faces a prison sentence of over 12,000 years,” Aimi Syazwani, a deputy public prosecutor, told AFP.
Judge Yong Zarida Sazali denied the man bail after prosecutors warned there was a danger of him fleeing or intimidating witnesses. The suspect cannot be named to protect the identity of the victim.

Some suspected armed robbers and cultists that have been terrorizing Benue state have been paraded by the Benue State police command today.
In a statement released by the Police command, The Force received a distress call on Tuesday 8th of August, that some criminals were attacking and dispossessing innocent members of the public of their phones(GSM handsets) at Logo I area of Makurdi metropolis.
The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) operatives on patrol responded immediately to the distress call and got a 23-year-old Emmanuel Ifeanyi who belongs to the Red Confraternity, arrested at the scene.
While trying to escape, he led the operatives to his accomplice, 26-year-old Monday Joseph, aka “Mad Dog”- a self confessed Cult hitman of the Reds Confraternity involved in several cult related killings and robbery in Makurdi.
Knives, six (6) handsets, a locally fabricated revolver pistol with five (5) rounds of live ammunition and assorted charms were recovered from them.
Further investigation led to the arrests of 28-year-old Chimezie Ekeke, 15-year-old Sonter Joshua and 27-year-old Hashimu Abdullahi, all male of Awe Street and Logo 1 areas of Makurdi.
They would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.

Nigerian-born plane crash survivor, Kechi Okwuchi, once again wowed judges and audience at the judges-cut stage of the America’s Got Talent show and performed a moving cover of John Hiatt’s ‘Have a Little Faith in Me’.
Although, her journey in the America’s Got Talent competition ended at this stage, but she is happy she got this far.
After her performance, one of the judges, Simon, stated that she made it to this stage not because of her story but as a direct result of her talent.
Kechi then shared some photos from where she watched the show herself with kids at the Shriner’s Hospital for Children at Galveston.
She also revealed that she was on the ‘Today show’ this morning at 8 on NBC, and her clip was shown.

Reports are that about 3 people have died from Lassa fever in Lagos state and another 100 under monitoring at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
The Yobe state Commissioner for Health, Dr Bello Kawuwa, disclosed that Four people are being quarantined for clinical analysis in Yobe over suspected case of Lassa fever.
He told newsmen in Damaturu that seven people were initially held, but three had been discharged after clinical analysis.
Although, results released earlier did not indicate that the four people have Lassa fever, a second laboratory test would be carried out on them.
He said:
‘About seven cases of suspected Lassa fever were reported in Yobe. They were subjected to normal clinical appraisal and three of the seven were looking less of Lassa fever. We will let you know when the result of the second laboratory test is released. We have isolated the cases to prevent unnecessary contact. Our epidemic response team has also gone to the affected communities to carryout contact-tracing as well as enlighten the people on how to deal with the situation’.
