“I Didn’t Sleep With Church Member’s Wife” – Edo Pastor Accused Of Adultery Speaks.
Presiding pastor of Miracle House of God Prophetic Ministry in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State, Prophet Great Emokpae, who was accused of being involved in an amorous affair with the wife of one Anthony Ehikioya, has denied the allegation.
Ehikioya had last Sunday, accused Emokpae of having a romantic relationship with his wife after he reportedly obtained an audio recording of a conversation between the two.
He also accused his wife, Bridget, of infidelity, an allegation she also denied. The development led to the destruction of some property belonging to the church on Ituanyemwangbon Street by a group of angry youths.
The police had also launched a manhunt for the pastor, after he reportedly fled the area.
But Emokpae, who spoke with journalists on Friday, said though he had earlier been threatened by the complainant, he was surprised to see the level of damage done to his church.
He noted that he had to run for his life when he saw the mob. He explained,
“I was so surprised when I came to church on (that) Sunday. Meanwhile, the man had threatened that he would destroy my church. As I was going to church, I saw a crowd. Some were holding machetes and different weapons.
“I had to run for my dear life. I am not on the run. They are going to pay for everything they have destroyed because I am really innocent. Heaven and God bear me witness; I don’t know what they have accused me about.”
The pastor also denied any connection with the fetish items said to have been found in the church. He added,
“Before my arrival at the church, they (mob) were there. The only things I make use of are my Bible, staff and girdle; any other thing, apart from the ones I mentioned, was brought by them.”
The wife of the complainant said that she had been rebuked on several occasions by her husband for attending the church with her children.
Bridget said,
“I told my husband that if he thought that it (adultery) happened, he should take me to my people so that they would know what to do. He went to his people and told me not to enter his house again.”
“I have been in Ekpoma since last Friday. I am innocent and the man (pastor) is innocent. The pastor is good to me and my family. I don’t have anything with the pastor and he doesn’t have anything with me,” she added.
When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Moses Nkombe, told PUNCH that the pastor was still on the run. Nkombe, however, added that the complainant was assisting the police with the investigation.
“He is still on the run. The husband of the woman is helping us to trace them. Once the arrest is made, I will let you know,” Punch reports he said.

Human rights lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, in a new development, has stated that Anambra Broadcasting Service has returned ex-miss Anambra Chidinma Okeke’s car to her, and she was made to sign an undertaking that she would not grant interviews as to how/why the car was returned.

Boko Haram Attacks IDP Camp Bombed By Nigerian Air Force.
Days after the accidental bombing by a Nigerian air force jet, which killed at least 54 persons, Rann IDP Camp in Borno State came under another attack, this time, by Boko Haram insurgents.
Witnesses in Rann said soldiers deployed to secure the bombed IDP camp battled for hours to repel over 100 Boko Haram gunmen who came attacking at about 6pm.
A source from Rann said the soldiers stood their ground and killed eight of the attacking insurgents. The source, who asked not to be quoted for his security sake, said a soldier was wounded in the attack.
On Tuesday, the Theatre Commander of the Lafiya Dole counterinsurgency operations in northeast Nigeria, Major General Lucky Irabor, said the air force jet that mistakenly bombed the IDP camp was actually deployed to take on an idea identified location where Boko Haram insurgents were gathering in Kala-Balge local government area of Borno State.
The Air Force said the bombings were aimed at Boko Haram militants. It is not clear if the gang of Boko Haram insurgents that attacked Rann last night were those missed by the airforce jet.

Two married women who are alleged members of the Deeper Life Bible Church in Isolo were caught exchanging fisticuffs in public, which is rather unusual for members of the well known Holy and decent church.
The two women, whose names were given as a 58-year-old Nwazema Oluchukwu, and 34-year-old Chizoba Alloy Njoku were charged before Isolo Magistrate’s court by the police over an allegation of husband snatching and public fighting.

Fashion designer, Phoonmy Afrika moments ago, took to her Instagram to call out Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe for showing off a dress that she made for her and she tagged another designer.
Phoonmy Afrika wrote:
“As someone who had worked behind the camera in the Nigerian Entertainment Industry popularly called Nollywood and now a Fashion Designer, I picked an interest in two Nollywood Stars @mercyaigbegentry and @jumokeodetola for two different reasons but as the Yoruba adage says: Isunmoni la nmo ise eni. On a closer look you get to know that these people are not what they portrayed. Jumoke Odetola in her case lived up to standard as we approached her to flaunt one of our designs on social media, she responsibly did as agreed an even advertised our company to a few friends while Mercy Aigbe on the other hand collected the sewn garment, wore it to occasions, flaunted it on IG and refused to tag our Company which was the gentleman agreement we had. The problem here is not the fact that Mercy did tag us but her mannerisms when we approached her. Mercy slyly responded well to our chat saying she would do a ‘rerock’ and tag us but immediately blocked our comments on our post then blocked us on instagram. We put a call through to Jumoke who acted as our link to Mercy tried to pacify the situation but another conversation with Jumoke’s manager spurred our anger. Does she by anyway know with whom she is dealing with? Things are about to get messy with Mercy and she should be ready for us because if we have to rip our clothes off her skin, we will… just to have it back.”
Upon seeing that she was called out, the actress, too, took to her instagram to refute the report and posted what you see below:
She denied of knowing the designer, shared the photo below and wrote:
“Goodmorning Fam!….. my attention as been drawn to a particular story trending, regarding this shirt, pls I will like to start categorically that I don’t know the said designer, I never agreed to tag her and she didn’t give me the shirt. The shirt was given to me by Jumoke Odetola as a birthday gift and when she dropped the shirt at my office, she never mentioned the designer and didn’t tell me to tag anyone. ……thank you all and have a blessed day!”
Reacting to the actress’s denial, Phoonmy shared the DM of Mercy thanking her for the shirt and calling her a “joke”.

Two Teachers Paraded For Showing A 6 Year Old Pupil Pornography And Defiling Her Afterwards.
Two private school teachers identified as Stanley Akanno and Olakunle Hassan, in Amuwo Odofin, were yesterday paraded by Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 2, AIG Kayode Aderanti, for serially defiling their 6-year-old female pupil.
The teachers, he said, during extra mural classes, showed pornography on their laptop to the pupil and made her practice same on them.
“The pupil has been taken to a government hospital where it was medically established that she had been deflowered. The suspects will soon be charged to court,” Aderanti said.
They were arrested following suspicion by the girl’s mother that her daughter has suddenly become sexually active. The girl’s mother, while narrating how the daughter was defiled, said:
“I noticed that my daughter was kissing his brother’s penis.
I called her and interrogated her where she learnt the behaviour and she told me that her lesson teacher plays erotic films on his laptop and forced her to watch it.
She added that the teacher will then defile her. We reported the case to the police and from the investigation, it showed that she was defiled.

Hours After Arrest, Police Releases Premium Times Publisher And Journalist On Bail.
Publisher of Premium Times, Dapo Olorunyomi and judiciary correspondent, Evelyn Okakwu who were arrested at around 5:00 p.m on Thursday evening, have been released.
The duo were released on bail and were instructed to report at the FCT Police Command Headquarters by 8:00 a.m. Friday morning. The journalists were arrested after several plain-clothed officers raided PREMIUM TIMES office.
The newspaper’s managing editor, Idris Akinbajo, hailed the “overwhelming” support from Nigerians and readers around the world. He said the paper would release a full statement after the journalists meet the police on Friday morning.
2 Victims Of Accidental Bombings In Borno Die In Hospitals As Evacuation Of Injured Ends.
Hospitals in Maiduguri have discharged five hospitalized victims while two died out of the 80 severely injured victims moved from Rann in Kala-Balge to Maiduguri by the United Nations Humanitarian Air Services and the Nigerian Air Force both of which provided 7 helicopters for the evacuation that ended on Thursday.
Borno State Commissioner for Health, Dr Haruna Mshelia in situation update on Thursday, said the State Specialist Hospital currently has 68 of the victims after those initially hospitalized at the military hospital at 7th Division of the Nigerian Army were all moved to the State Specialist Hospital on Thursday.
He noted that 5 victims are at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, making 73 persons. The Commissioner said two of the victims were unfortunately lost, one died at the State Specialist Hospital while the other, died at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
“But happily, five have been discharged by doctors after they were certified to have fully regained their health. We are also hopeful that all the rest will be fine by the Grace of God. Nigerians should pray for their speedy recovery” the Commissioner said.
Dr. Mshelia however said 42 victims with minor injuries will remain in Rann given the fact that medical teams from the MSF, the ICRC and the State Government and other partners have enough medical supplies and health workers which make them capable of addressing their health needs.

But away from that, there are lots of responsibility involved in marriage and if you are not ready for it, then you are not ready for it, but it is important to speak for yourself. Police Raids Premium Times Head Office, Arrest Publisher & Journalist.
The Nigeria police raided Premium Times head office in Abuja, and arrested the newspaper’s publisher. The publisher, Dapo Olorunyomi, was arrested alongside the paper’s judiciary correspondent, Evelyn Okakwu.
Plain-clothed officers conducted search at the office shortly after 5p.m. Thursday, and said they were acting on a complaint filed by the Chief of Army Staff, Tukur Buratai.
The arrests came days after Premium Times turned down the army’s demand to retract news stories about the Nigerian Army and its operations.
The paper’s Editor-in-Chief, Musikilu Mojeed, condemned the raid.
“They should stop deluding themselves that they can muzzle the press and intimidate Premium Times,” said Mr. Mojeed. “They should know that our loyalty lies with our readers and the Nigerian people who have a right to know.”
He said the paper will continue “to discharge its responsibilities in line with global best practices, social responsibility and patriotism, even at great risk to our personal liberties”.
