“Understanding wife dey see wonders” – Netizens reacts to Frodd and Mercy Eke’s dance at last night’s pool party

Big Brother Naija All Stars housemates, Frodd and Mercy Eke, have set tongues wagging on the internet with their activities at last night’s pool party.

Frodd’s presence on the show shocked netizens because he recently got married, and his pregnant wife is expected to deliver their first child this week.

While enjoying the Thursday pool party, Frodd’s actions were deemed inappropriate for dancing suggestively with his friend, Mercy.

The dance scene caused a stir on social media. Some people defended the friends, saying they saw nothing wrong with them dancing together, while others claimed that Frodd should have established boundaries because of his wife.

Some argued that previous BBNaija housemate Mike Edwards, who was on the program as a married man during the Pepper Dem season, would not have danced so sensually with Mercy.

Joseph wrote; “The fact that Frodd is married and not just married, he left a pregnant wife who is about to go into Labour at home for the bbn and he still ain’t doing his best to respect her is a terrible thing to behold.

Don’t come on the show if you can’t control yourself. What morals are you teaching the people watching u. The other day u and Seyi dy shout say una be old school but old skool won’t do this 🤦🏾‍♂️

How can you be rocking another lady so good on live tv that your pregnant wife is watching 🤦🏾‍♂️. It’s a pity 🤦🏾‍♂️

“Good! So, what do YOU do? What’s the level of YOUR education?”
“High school!”

I asked the next boy.

And the next.
“High School!”

All 5 of them…

I said, “so, y’all just have high school education! Interesting.

“I’m the woman that will speak ohh. I will talk!

We let abusive men get away with it and someone else’s child will suffer it!

Because if the first wife had summoned the courage to warn my sister and make her presence known she would NEVER have married him.

Since the men are not doing it. It’s our duty to warn our fellow women. Let them make an informed choice.

“It’s insensitive, rude and intrusive to ask strangers when they are having children” – Solomon Buchi

Self-proclaimed life coach, Solomon Buchi, has opined that it is insensitive to ask couples, especially strangers, when they are having children.

Taking to social media, the controversial media personality, who recently tied the knot with his partner Adeola, noted that asking strangers about their fertility was rude.

According to him, a lot of people could be dealing with infertility issues, and probing them could trigger and remind them of their struggles.

He wrote on Thursday, August 10,

“When will you have children?” is a question you shouldn’t ask strangers. It is insensitive. You might mean well, but people go through a lot: infertility, miscarriages, and difficulty conceiving.

So each time that question pops up, it reminds them of their struggle. If you see couples without children and you care so much about them having children, pray for them, don’t ask them, especially when you don’t know them. It can be rude and intrusive.”

A while back, Solomon Buchi tackled those seeking sexual compatibility with their prospective partner before marriage.

Taking to Facebook, Solomon opined that sexual compatibility is a lie from the pit of hell to make people fornicate unendingly in their pursuit for someone who will outperform their last sexual encounter.

According to him, instead of looking for ‘sexual compatibility’, people should seek ‘sexual commitment’ because it ensures growth and fulfilment in marriage.

“The poor man you reject today, in 10 years you’ll bow to him” – Female Evangelist (Video)

A female evangelist has advised women to make thoughtful decisions when a man who isn’t financially secure woos them.

She claimed that if a woman rejects a guy today due to his social standing and inability to meet her wants, she will submit to him in ten years.

She remarked during a radio interview that women’s comparison of themselves to other young women wearing costly brands is the major reason they won’t date a struggling man.

She advised any woman who wants expensive clothing or accessories to pay for them herself rather than waiting for a male to offer them money or make the purchase.

The clergywoman emphasized the importance for women to support an ambitious guy even in the face of his financial inability, as opposed to living with him because he cannot support them.

In other words, Funmi Aragbaye has opined that young couples are more likely to be divorced because they are unable to withstand challenges in marriage.

The singer said this in an interview with The Punch, pointing out that happiness in marriage doesn’t have everything to do with how wealthy one’s spouse is.

“The major cause of divorce among young couples is the fact that they cannot endure hardship with anybody. And, they prefer getting married to rich people. However, happiness in marriage is not dependent on how rich one’s spouse is. Young people should always seek divine direction from God before they get married.

They should find out about the families of their would-be spouses, and not just focus on how rich they are. There are some families with peculiar ancestry curses that one should avoid. Young people should also learn to endure, be patient and rugged, and be understanding.”

OPPO unveils new A78 with superior technological capabilities

The A78 is built to deliver seamless and smooth performance for up to four years. Enhancing this exceptional performance is a visually stunning Ultra-Slim Retro Design with an industry-first Diamond Matrix Design on the back cover, making the phone an absolute standout in style and functionality.

OPPO unveils

Lightning-fast and reliable charging with a longer-lasting battery

With the composition of the super-fast 67W SUPERVOOCTM Flash Charge and a large 5000mAh battery, the OPPO A78 offers one of the fastest flash charging speeds on any smartphone in its price range. The A78 can be fully charged in just 44 minutes. With this incredible charging speed, it’s even possible to charge the phone to last an entire flight with a quick, last-minute charge before boarding a plane. When fully charged, the long-lasting 5,000mAh battery can provide 27.4 days of standby (flight mode) or 16.37 hours of YouTube video, so it can easily last an entire day of average use.

OPPO has also introduced a series of exclusive technologies designed to enhance charging safety and reliability on the A78. OPPO’s Battery Health Engine helps to extend the A78’s battery lifespan to as many as 1,600 charge and discharge cycles, which is enough to keep the battery working in a good condition for up to four years. Optimized All-Day Charging intelligently learns users’ daily charging habits and adjusts the charging speed accordingly. For office workers who often leave their phones connected to a charger throughout the day, Optimized All-Day Charging can automatically stop charging the battery when it reaches 80% capacity and then resume charging to 100% just in time for the end of work. This reduces constant charging of the battery to improve safety and overall battery longevity. On top of this, 5-Layer Charging Protection returns to the A78 to improve end-to-end safety across the entire charging process.

OPPO unveils

A more immersive audio-visual experience

The OPPO A78 is the first OPPO A series phone to feature an FHD+ AMOLED screen that can be rarely seen in its price range. The 6.4” screen has a 90Hz refresh rate and up to 180Hz touch sampling rate to provide enhanced smoothness and responsiveness. With up to 600 nits’ overall brightness, the screen delivers incredible detail even in direct sunlight, while the smart adaptive backlight helps provide the most comfortable visual experience in different environments to reduce visual fatigue from prolonged viewing. The display also includes the first In-Display Fingerprint Unlock on a smartphone at this price range, offering a better balance between aesthetic design and efficiency.

Alongside the fantastic visual experience, the A78 provides more immersive and crystal-clear surround sound through its Dual Stereo Speakers and Real HD Sound 3.0, delivering optimal sound adjusted for different scenarios such as music, video, and gaming. For users who like to turn things up a notch, Ultra Volume Mode can boost sound volume by as much as 200%, making it easier to hear music or the phone ringing in even the noisiest of places. When making voice calls, the earpiece volume can be further increased by 3dB without impacting audio quality, so users can clearly hear their conversations at all times.

In terms of camera, the A78 is equipped with a camera system including a 50MP main camera and a series of new features that make it easier than ever to capture stunning photos and videos. For example, Dual-View Video can be used to shoot from both the front and rear cameras simultaneously and combine the footage into a single frame, unlocking new perspectives in shooting creative vlogs.

OPPO unveils

Stay smooth for up to four years

The A78 is powered by the Snapdragon® 680 Mobile Platform, delivering powerful performance with optimized power consumption built for everyday tasks. The phone features an 8GB RAM + 128/256GB ROM configuration with up to 1TB of additional storage through the SD card slot. It also includes OPPO’s RAM Expansion technology, which can be used to temporarily convert free ROM space into a maximum of 8GB of RAM to keep the phone running smoothly during heavy-load scenarios.

At the system level, OPPO’s self-developed Dynamic Computing Engine uses parallel computing technology to optimize the scheduling and recovery of computing resources to boost overall speed and stability. On the A78, the Dynamic Computing Engine can increase app opening speeds by as much as 1.42%. It also helps to keep up to 19 apps running in the background at the same time without any noticeable lag.

Thanks to all these optimizations, the A78 provides silky-smooth performance for up to four years, ensuring users can enjoy a longer-lasting smooth experience compared with other smartphones at a similar price point.

An enhanced Ultra-slim Retro body with industry-first Diamond Matrix Design

The A78 is available in two fresh, trendy color finishes – Aqua Green and Mist Black. Inspired by water, the Aqua Green A78 uses a double-layer process to superimpose an industry-first Diamond Matrix Design atop a water green base layer. The result is a vibrant, energetic color that sparkles like diamonds floating on a delicate surface of jade water to create a uniquely exquisite appearance. Mist Black meanwhile adds a touch of yellow-green to a pure black color base to introduce a sense of dimensionality to the phone.

The A78 inherits the same iconic Ultra-Slim Retro Design as previous models in the OPPO A series with the introduction of several new upgrades. The 2.5D right-angled middle frame and smoothed edges give the phone an integrated sleek and lightweight appearance while also making it more comfortable to hold. Even with its large 5000mAh battery, the A78 continues the same slim and lightweight design of the Reno series, measuring as little as 7.93 mm in thickness and weighing only 180 g to make it the thinnest phone with a 5000mAh battery in its price range.

Alongside these design upgrades, the A78 also features enhanced quality and durability. The phone has been put through some of the most rigorous durability tests in OPPO’s lab to make sure that it is ready to stand up to the challenges of everyday life. It is also rated IP54 waterproof, meaning it won’t be phased by regular splashes and spills.

A smarter and more private ColorOS 13.1

ColorOS 13.1 on the A78 is designed for enhanced convenience and privacy. Among the new features in the latest ColorOS is Screen Translate, which uses Google Lens to translate the content of an entire screen with just one click from the sidebar. With support for intelligent translation between 105 languages, Screen Translate can even be used to translate image-based text. Auto Pixelate can automatically recognize and pixelate sensitive information like profile photos and names on chat screenshots with just one click.

Further to this, ColorOS 13.1 includes an updated Private Safe that has been upgraded with the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) to keep private files encrypted and stored in a private directory with a higher level of security. 5-Grade Access Control has also been added to give users complete control over who can see their data and when.

OPPO A78 device is available for purchase at authorized retail stores across the country from N188,000.  OPPO A series has developed a reputation over the years for offering great features at accessible price points and this Qualcomm CPU-powered device is not different.

Venita accuses

Big Brother Naija “All Stars” housemate, Venita Akpofure, levelled some serious accusations against her fellow housemate, Pere Egbi, during a heated exchange.

The incident occurred as they were preparing for a wager task on Wednesday, August 10th. The task involved shooting a film where the housemates were required to wear traditional costumes.

Venita accuses

Pere, who was assigned the role of director for the movie, directed that Venita’s cap be placed on Kiddwaya’s head. When Venita declined, Pere took a more authoritative tone and even instructed her to sit down.

Refusing to comply, Venita retorted by telling Pere to kiss her behind. In response, Pere said her father should kiss her a$$ instead.

This deeply angered Venita, who emphasized that Pere had no right to bring her father into the discussion. She asserted that while her relationship with her father might be strained, she alone has the privilege to criticize him.

In the midst of her anger, Venita went on an insult spree, accusing Pere of engaging in inappropriate behavior both inside and outside the house. She alleged that he stands naked behind people in the shower and behaves oddly.

Venita accuses

Furthermore, Venita accused Pere of sending unsolicited explicit images of his genitals to women on social media. She also claimed that she knows what he does for a living outside the house, and questioned his visits to the “state house.”

Drunk man k!lls

Enraged by his ex-wife’s action, Danbaki reportedly carried the toddler into the bush, tied her neck with a rope and buried her in a shallow grave.

When questioned if he knew the consequences of his action, Ayuba claimed not to know, stating that many people in his community are ignorant of the gravity of such crime.

While being interrogated, the suspect said;

“I killed my daughter, because I became angry as to the reason why her mother will dump her with me at a local joint. I used a rope and tied her neck, dug a grave and buried her. I am married and blessed with 6 children including the deceased. I became angry with her mother’s action. It was a mistake. I drink local beer known as”burukutu”. Pere, who appeared to be in control of directing the movie, commanded fiercely that Venita’s cap be placed on Kiddwaya’s head.

The housemates were all shocked by the outburst. Adekunle stood out among them by saying that no one should yell at anyone since they are not professionals and are not getting paid for the performance.

He then recounted a conversation with Whitemoney, during which he claimed to be involved in a car business. Adekunle said out of curiosity, he asked about the price of a car, but Whitemoney couldn’t provide an answer.

According to Adekunle, this suggests that Whitemoney might not be who he claims to be, and that his elaborate stories might be a strategy to impress and capture the attention of his fellow housemates.

I’m sorry for betraying ur trust, and u will know who did when this goes viral, so just know I did this to defend you, I did not break the sister code. This explanation didn’t quell Faith’s anger as she went on a ranting spree, insulting her husband and calling him distasteful names. She said she hates him and is no longer attracted to him.

She also called him a ‘pathological liar’ who constantly embarrasses her. BRed tried to apologize to his wife, but she snubbed him and told him to go meet his cousin, singer Davido, so they could keep doing ‘stupid’ things together.

Faith also slammed her husband for mocking and laughing at Davido as if he were better than him. Interestingly, Bred replied by defending himself, stating that, unlike Davido, he does not have a child outside of marriage.

“Divorce rate is rising because young couples can’t endure hardship” – Funmi Aragbaye

Veteran gospel musician, Funmi Aragbaye has opined that young couples are more likely to be divorced because they are unable to withstand challenges in marriage.

The singer said this in an interview with The Punch, pointing out that happiness in marriage doesn’t have everything to do with how wealthy one’s spouse is.

According to her, young people should always seek divine direction before getting married because not all families can be married into.

In her words;

She also gave advice to aspiring gospel musicians, urging them not to act improperly or post about private matters on social media. She said;

“Bringing issues involving members of the association on social media for reconciliation is not good for the reputation of GOMAN. I advise young gospel musicians to amicably resolve differences among themselves without bringing them on social media.

It is apparent that some gospel musicians cannot manage stardom, and some cannot even comport themselves on stage. They should work on those areas for the overall interest of the association. The elders of the association are looking at ways of ensuring the sustenance of harmony and decorum among members.”

Nigeria doing better than other African countries – CBN

Nigeria’s APEX Bank, CBN, has said that Nigeria is still doing better than most African nations despite the high inflation witnessed across the country.

Speaking at the 2023 Zenith Bank International Trade Seminar in Lagos on Tuesday, August 8, Acting Governor of the CBN, Folashodun Shonubi, highlighted the nation’s standing despite the economic challenges.

Represented by Kingsley Obiorah, the Deputy Governor of Economic Policy at the CBN, Shonubi disclosed that Nigeria’s inflation rate has reached 22.8%, while the International Monetary Fund (IMF) projected a growth moderation of 3.2% for the year 2023. Shonubi addressed the audience by providing a comparative context, stating that neighboring countries such as Ghana, Ethiopia, and Egypt grapple with even higher inflation rates of 42.5%, 31%, and 36% respectively.

Shonubi acknowledged the impact of global factors on the economic landscape. The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, both significant commodity exporters, has led to global food price escalation. Moreover, a shift from goods to services, coupled with disruptions in China’s supply chain due to the transition towards renewable energy, has exerted additional pressure on worldwide economies.

China’s investment surge in property services has led to oversupply issues in its real estate market, contributing to supply chain disruptions. Shonubi detailed how this trend, alongside Nigeria’s historical non-oil exports to GDP ratio, signals the imperative for accelerated growth. He underlined that smaller nations like the Netherlands and Ireland, despite their limited landmass, demonstrate remarkable success in non-oil exports, emphasizing the need for Nigeria to amplify its export endeavors.

In conclusion, Shonubi’s discourse at the seminar underscored Nigeria’s comparatively favorable position amidst regional economic challenges, while also urging the nation to bolster its export sector as a means to achieve sustained growth and prosperity.
