In a bid to debunk the rumors making rounds yesterday claiming that the President has speech impairment, an audio tape purported to be President Buhari’s Sallah message to Nigerians was released yesterday, but it was recorded in Hausa.

Meanwhile, Reno Omokri has reacted to the above audio message by President Buhari.. Omokri argued that a president cannot address a nation in a sectional language. He wrote;
“In a country whose official language is English, President Muhammadu Buhari broadcasts his Sallah message in Hausa! Would Trump (whose origin is German) address America in German? So what about all those Nigerians who can’t speak Hausa? Ideally, the President should have spoken in English first, then if he feels like it, he may also speak in Hausa.
The way he has now spoken only in Hausa makes it seem as if he is only concerned with those who gave him 97% of the votes while those who have him 5% can take a hike! How would the rest of the country have felt if President Olusegun Obasanjo had released a Christmas broadcast to Nigerians in Yoruba of if President Goodluck Jonathan has done so in Ogbia?
How can a NATIONAL leader address Nigerians in a SECTIONAL language? Nigeria has never had a leader as divisive as Buhari! There is no difference between President Buhari and Nnamdi Kanu. President Buhari is the President of all Nigeria. He is not the President of only those who can speak Hausa!

Suspected kidnap kingpin Chukwudumeje George Onwuamadike (aka Evans) has confessed that the gunshot scar on his shoulder came from the injury he sustained during a 2006 bank robbery in Lagos.
This is contrary to his earlier claim that he got the injury during a fracas following a drug business in South Africa in 2007.
Evans, who was confronted with a newspaper interview that indicated the scar was as a result of a gun duel between him and his gang members at the National Theatre in Surulere, Lagos Mainland, admitted that he lied earlier.
According to the suspect, he and his gang members robbed a bank in 2006. While sharing the loot, there was a disagreement, which led to a fight.
He admitted that they started shooting themselves, adding that many of the robbers died. He was seriously injured and abandoned by the others.
The kingpin also admitted that he was arrested by the police, adding that he and two others were transferred to the Imo State Police Command, where they were released.
The officer in charge of the Inspector General of Police’ (IGP) Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Abba Kyari, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), said:
“Evans was confronted with the interview on Sunday and he admitted that the bullet wounds are from disagreement over sharing of loot after bank robbery in Lagos in 2006. They shot one another and many gang members died while Evans survived with bullet wounds.”
A Superintendent of Police with the Band section of the Police College in Lagos, simply identified as Tina, reportedly sought to get the case being put together against Evans after the bank robbery dropped. Her attempt was rebuffed.
She reportedly travelled to Owerri from where a report was sent requesting the transfer of Evans to the command because of another case he was involved in, which they claimed was under investigation.
The kingpin was quietly released inOwerri. Tina is believed to be related to Evans’ mother.
The Nation gathered that the police were out to fish out all those who participated in the 2006 release of Evans and two of his gang members. They are to be prosecuted.
It was also learnt that the police have begun a manhunt for another soldier said to be a member of Evans’ gang.
The soldier whose identity is yet to be revealed, it was gathered, was attached to one of the Army formations in Lagos.
A source said the police had the soldier’s names and pictures, adding that they would leave no stone unturned in arresting him.
“He should have been arrested on Saturday night but we believe he might have gone into hiding after his colleague, Victor Chukwunonso, was caught. That was why the police high command did not want to release information on the arrest of Chukwunonso because there are so many others being investigated.
“But I know he would be caught. Our bosses will simply approach army authorities with evidence and request that he be handed over to the police.
“It is true that they have started looking for that Tina woman and many other officers who were serving at the Imo State Command at that time that Evans was released. So many heads will roll in this matter.”
Joseph Kaguthi, the head of Nyumba Kumi Initiative in Central Kenya recently caused a furore when he asked women to accommodate their husbands’ lovers as co-wives
Kaguthi, a one-time no-nonsense provincial administrator, told The Nairobian that one of the reasons he advocates for polygamy is because “it is selfish and inconsiderate of women not to share their husbands”
“We are in a crisis in this region. Our population is dwindling at an alarming rate and soon, it will be irreversible, unless we allow men and women to openly acknowledge polygamous unions.”
He said that polygamy is the only way to ensure that children in the region grow up in families with both parents.
“The single parent phenomenon is so widespread and more men and women are growing up without knowing how men and women are supposed to relate to each other.”
Men in Central Kenya were once polygamous for the purposes of wealth generation through dowry and ‘putting together a labour force’ to work on the farms.
“We must embrace who we are as a people. We are not like the coastal communities who enter into polygamous unions for the sake of having a protector, provider and ‘penetrator’,” Kaguthi advised.
Kaguthi pointed out that men preferred to marry women who were industrious and responsible, which is still the case today.
“If you can afford it, you should be allowed to marry more than one woman. We must not hide behind Western cultural values,” he added.
Kaguthi is not a lone crusader for this ‘cause.’ The chair of the Council of Elders (Kiama Kia Maa) Rware Chapter, Gakuo Matu, supports polygamy, arguing that, “Unlike women in the 19th century, the women of Central Kenya today are industrious, independent and willing to take care of their children. If anything, they are an asset to a man, not a liability.”
Matu reckons that “most men in Central Kenya have two or three women in their lives and the only difference is that only one is recoginsed while the rest lurk in the shadows which is unfortunate for them and their children.”
Matu further explained that polygamy would be a wise investment as it is cheaper to have a wife than to maintain a mistress, which is what most men in Central Kenya are doing.
“You can spend Sh5,000 on a wife and she will be happy, but in the case of a mistress, every time you see her, you will have to part with about Sh30,000 on weekend excursions out of town, where you spend on nyama choma and alcohol over and over again,” explains Matu, adding that in a polygamous union, the women in man’s life are forced to co-share what he can afford.
He sounded a warning to women who refuse to let their husbands marry second wives, noting that such men either become hostile or abandon their families.
“Men like new things. After a few decades with the same woman, they start looking for another woman. If a woman stands in the way of that, it makes the man feel trapped and angry,” Matu noted.
According to Matu, men should not be caged because when they cannot get what they want, the will lash out at the closest people to them, who in most cases are the wives.
Nyeri resident and lawyer Waruguru Kiai believes that the polygamy debate is being fuelled by the conflict between Christian beliefs and cultural values.
“Before the advent of Christianity, our Kikuyu culture supported polygamy. However, the man had to adequately provide for all the wives and children, ensure their security and all wives and children were treated equally. None was victimised or mistreated by the other and respect was paramount.”
Drawing parallels with today’s world, Waruguru says that people are torn between Christianity and African traditions because the moment a man solemnises his marriage in church, he relinquishes the right to marry another woman. What this has resulted in is men opting for several ‘side dishes,’ who for all intents and purposes are their wives, with some bearing them children.
“But these women, unlike in the days of our grandparents, are not wives. They may carry on as wives, but they are not. They do not enjoy the security that culture accorded such women. This is why, as we have witnessed, when prominent men die, there are always women who are sidelined and end up in court,” explains Waruguru.
“However, men should understand that the concept of polygamy was to maintain the dignity and respect of women. There is no need to keep one woman at home and others on the side as ‘matrimonial refugees.’ Men should stop sitting on the fence and man up!” she said.

Nigerian rapper, Babalola Falemi, popularly known with stage name, Sauce Kid or Sinzu has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for stealing $15,388 using stolen credit card numbers in Boise and Meridian, Idaho Stateman News reported on June 23.
According to the charge, Sauce Kid obtained stolen bank card numbers and identifying information from their owners. He then encoded the account numbers onto blank plastic cards.
After using an automated system to change account PINs, he was able to withdraw cash from bank ATMS and buy merchandise from stores between July 23 and 26 2016/
All of the losses took place at Boise ATMs owned by Idaho Central Credit Union and at Albertsons stores in Meridian, court documents alleged.
Police arrested Sauce Kid at the Boise Airport as he was about to board a flight. He was caught with a card encoding device and more than $6,000 in cash.
Sauce Kid was initially charged with conspiracy to commit bank fraud, eight counts each of bank fraud, aggravated identity theft, and possession of 15 or more fraudulent bank cards.

The drama started today when yet one internet troll called out the singer after he posted a photo of him and Blac Chyna from his album listening party in Los Angeles, California.

…and a presumably upset D’banj went from 0-100 real quick as he clapped back at the troll but in the process dragged his estranged partner, Mavin’s boss, Don Jazzy into the beef.

Evans was arrested penultimate Saturday from his mansion at Magodo Estate, Lagos for multiple kidnappings. A reward of N30 million was placed by the force for any useful information that could lead to his arrest. The notorious kidnapper has been on the police wanted list for over seven years.
Acting Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Galadanshi Dasuki while addressing news men on Saturday at the Command Headquarters, Ikeja, said that the Police were not in a hurry to release Evans , inspite of calls from different quarters to do so.
He said:
“Evans has been a kidnapper for a long time and has been on the wanted list of the Police in Anambra, Abuja , Enugu, Edo and Lagos states. He also has a criminal gang, some of whom have been arrested in Enugu and Lagos. But there are still more out there. Therefore, this needs a painstaking investigation
Besides, we need to under study him as well as debrief him . By so doing, we intend to use his tactics to get others. He will eventually be charged to court after investigation is concluded”

Another young Nigerian has yet again made ground shaking academic record in overseas Poland, as he graduates with a Cummulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 5.0 in Computer Technology from the University of Computer Sciences and Skills, Lodz, Poland.
Taking the lead with first class from his first semester examinations in Babcock University, 20-year old Olukayode Mobolaji Oluwasona, was among the 17 outstanding students of Babcock University that left Nigeria at the beginning of their 200-level programme in 2014 to continue their undergraduate studies in Poland.
This was under a special degree exchange programme arranged by Babcock University with the University of Computer Sciences and Skills in Lodz, Poland, where they remained international student until the end of their four-year course.
Under the arrangement, they had to return to Babcock for their final year in 2016, during which they remained under the monitoring, supervision and mentorship of their lecturers in Poland.

One of them, a serving personnel of the Nigerian Army, identified as Lance Corporal Victor Chukwunonso, pictured above, with Army No: 09/NA/64/6317, has reportedly been arrested.
Unsuspecting Lance Corporal Chukwunonso, who is attached to the Nigeria Army Band Corps, Abatti Barrack, in Surulere area of Lagos, was arrested at about 9pm on Friday, in Ojo area of the state, from where he was subsequently taken into police custody.
During investigation, Chukwunonso as reliably gathered, admitted to have only gone on three kidnap operations with Evans. He disclosed that he got a total of N6.5 million from the operations.
He revealed to policemen that all the operations were carried out in Festac area of Lagos. He claimed to have been given N3milion from the first operation, N2 million form the second and N1.5million from the third.

We brought you reports yesterday, about the couple who were attacked at the Idioro area of Ogijo, Ikorodu town in Lagos, Badoo cult group.
Pictured below is the lifeless body of the couple killed by the notorious cult group.
This would be the umpteenth time the cult members have successfully carried out their attacks on residents in Ikorodu.
According to reports, the battered remains of the couple was found on Friday after a neighbor raised an alarm.
The said neighbor had given the couple her phone to charge in their home situated in an uncompleted building on Thursday June 22nd.
After calling repeatedly so that she could come to collect her phone and there was no answer, the neighbor decided to wait the next day to go to their house to pick it up. When she got there, she knocked for them to come out but there was no response.
After several calls and bangs, there door was forced open and there, the battered remains of the couple was found lying on the floor. Just by their remains, was a grinding stone, the trademark of any killing done by the cult members.
The remains of the coupe to deposited at a morgue in Sagamu while the grinding stone was taken to Ogijo Division for further investigations.
Residents of the area later took to the street to stage a protest over the recurring attacks carried out by the cult group members.
Popular Nollywood Actress, and mother of two, Mercy Johnson caused quite a stir of recent, when she twerked on stage while hosting a GLO Mega Concert in Anambra State, alongside Juliet Ibrahim.
The video of course, went viral and while many of her fans commended her dancing skills, some argued that she shouldn’t have done that considering her status as a married woman.
