The Nigerian Communications Commission on Wednesday announced the immediate suspension of the new minimum pricing template for data services by mobile operators.
The new rate, which would have led to price increase in data for some Nigerians, was scheduled to take effect from December 1.
The NCC said the decision is to allow for further consultation.
The NCC’s decision comes a few hours after the Senate ordered a stop to the planned increase.
This pretty and sexy female soldier is the rave of the moment online due to obvious reasons.
The jovial and gallant officer identified as Queen is what most corps members would want as their instructor at their orientation camps.
The hot soldier has already been mobbed by the new batch of corpers at the NYSC camp in Lagos -who were delighted to take pictures with her… See some of her pictures below;
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has directed mobile telephone operators in the country to jerk up data tariffs with effect from December 1.
In a letter to the big operators, NCC said: “The Commission has carefully reviewed all submissions and hereby make the following Determinations: the interim price floor for Data Services is No.90k/MB for big operators. .
This rate will subsist pending the finalisation of the study on the Determination of Cost Based Pricing for Retail Broadband and Data Services in Nigeria; in order to promote a level playing field for all operators in the industry, encourage small operators and new entrant to acquire market share and operate profitably. .
Small operators and new entrants are hereby exempted from price floor for data services; for avoidance of doubt, a small operator is one that has less than 7.5% of market share and a new entrant is an operator that has operated less than three years in the market.”
NCC is of the opinion that without a price floor, the dominant operators can engage in predatory pricing to drive down other operators, meaning the industry could be moving towards a monopoly.
A senior NCC official told TheCable that CDMA operators – such as Multilinks and Starcomms – were muscled out of the by the Big Four because of their market power.
“At the rate they are crashing data tariffs, there is every chance that they will soon kill all the small operators and new entrants. Part of the functions and duties of NCC is to check monopolistic and oligopolistic behaviours in the telecom market,” the official said.
Globacom currently charges 21k/MB apparently because of the economies of scale advantage, compared to Smile which charges 84k/MB, in order to break even.
Under the new tariff regime, Smile can continue to charge 84k but Glo will have to move up to 90k/MB – a 328% increase.

She took to Facebook to heap praises on her on her development since being discovered. She wrote;

Reports going round this morning claims that the Girl, Khadija who was snatched and kidnapped by a woman in Abuja is dead.
That report is false, as the father of the kidnapped girl has come out to debunk the reports spreading real fast like wild fire.
Umar Suleiman, Father of the little girl kidnapped
He took to his facebook to write:
Please my attention has been drawn to some post made in Facebook that my baby, Khadija was found dead. I want to say that the innocent girl found dead in gwagwalada is not my daughter. My prayers goes to her family, while we all pray for Khadija safe return. Thanks Allah bless u all.
An 18-year-old student is reportedly battling with his sight at the Nakuru Level Five Hospital after he drank ethanol with his friends.
A report by Daily Nation News, states that the unidentified boy who is a student of Narok Secondary School in Kenya drank the ethanol on Friday, November 25, after writing his Chemistry exams.
It was also reported that the student who cannot speak nor eat may recover his sight after an eye specialist visited him at the hospital to place him on special treatment, as well as given the victim beer as an antidote to neutralize the ethanol he had taken.
His worried mother, Josephine Lankenua, bitterly complained after she learned of her son’s condition two days after the incident.
‘My son did not sit his biology paper on Monday, November 28 because he could neither see, speak nor eat. The paper was brought to him while at the hospital but he was unable to do it because of his condition.’
‘It was wrong for the school to hide information from me until when he was being transferred to Nakuru for treatment. The Ministry of Education should probe the matter as well as allow my son to sit the papers he’s missed.’

Contrary to reports that made rounds yesterday alleging that the Acting rector of Federal Polytechnic, Ekowe, Bayelsa State slumped and died during a sex romp with an unidentified teenager at a hotel in Zekoh place, located at Onoharigbo street, Ughelli, the rector is still alive.
Mr. Seiyaboh Idah who is still very much alive, expressed serious concerns over the false report, describing it as embarrassing and an assault to his character.
He said the report was baseless, “careless, irresponsible, unprofessional and contrary to a minimum standard of journalism anywhere in the world”.
Idah said there was nothing true about the report, adding that it was totally against his “character, moral rectitude, ideals and qualities.”
He said:
“I was highly embarrassed by the report. The school, the students, my family including my parents, were all embarrassed and assaulted by the falsehood. “My friends all over the country and the world have been calling me over this incident to confirm whether l was still alive. You can see that l am alive and kicking.”
Heavy criticism followed the author, over the dress she donned to her book launch this past weekend… one can’t simply overlook that of controversial journalist who dubbed the outfit in an open letter as “slutty and inappropriate“.
But in a new development, some people have taken an in-depth look at the dress and have read meaning to it and it kind of makes much sense now (I think it does).
Let’s take a look at what these people have to say below:
So according to a new report, it seems the head of states, is at cross roads about his 21-year-old daughter, Zahra‘s wedding to billionaire, Indimi.
Reports of the wedding has been the talk of many tongues over the past few weeks since it was disclosed, with photos of her expensive wedding gifts from her soon-to-be husband.
But it looks like the president will not be having any of these eccentricities. A report by Daily Correspondents, gives us key details on the whole issue.
Read below:
“The wedding ceremony of Zahra, daughter of Nigeria’s president Buhari to son of billionaire businessman, Mohammed Indimi, scheduled for December 4, 2016, has been put on hold indefinitely, Daily Correspondents can authoritatively reveal.
The postponement, Daily Correspondents learned, was on the insistence of President Muhammadu Buhari, who, according to a source close to the two families, was uncomfortable with the attention his daughter’s wedding has received in the media, particularly with news of customised wedding boxes as gifts to Zahra costing a whopping N44m.
An introduction ceremony between both families had earlier held at the Aso Villa, Abuja on Friday, November 18, but the wedding programme itself scheduled between Wednesday 30th November and Sunday 4th December, 2016, is supposed to be on a low-key celebration as the President desires it to be a simple and an intimate ceremony to be attended by only close family and friends.
“But the whole media attention has changed everything now and the President is not happy,” our source said.
Aside that, it was also gathered that the President who has ordered that a security check be conducted on Ahmed and his source of stupendous wealth, is also not comfortable with the groom’s father, Alhaji Mohammed Indimi’s perceived closeness to ex-President Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, IBB.
Former President Ibrahim Babangida is believed to be a long time godfather of billionaire Mohammed Indimi, more so the former President was against the emergence of Buhari in 2015.
Our source further said President Buhari who had such information at his disposal before consenting to the marriage may have been prevailed upon by his closest political allies to have a rethink on giving out his daughter to the Indimis.
It is however “very unlikely that President Buhari may give his go ahead for the wedding in the near future,” our source concluded.
Beautiful Nollywood actress, Queen Nwokoye has blamed the irrational effort to live up to people’s expectation as the core reason why Nollywood actors/actresses run out of money and start experiencing a form of retrogression.
Speaking with Broadway Africa TV, Queen says:
“I don’t think it is because they are being extravagant, how many people are to begin with? The truth of the matter is a lot of people are known faces but they are not actually making the type of money people think they make.
Then again, it is an individual thing, it is either you are here or you are there but the truth is a lot of people don’t make that kind of money they think we have.
Some people think we get paid 10 million for acting {laughs} so a lot of times, actors want to live up to false expectations from their fans and that is how they get into trouble.
As far as I am concerned, if you are paid in Nigeria and you want a Gucci bag and you convert your Naira to dollars to go and buy it because Kim Kardashian is carrying it, it doesn’t make sense because she earns dollars.
So for me it is not about being extravagant, everybody loves the good things of life but you have to draw a balance. It is about not truly making that huge amount that actors and actresses make.”
On trading her stardom for her privacy, she says:
“We enjoy the stardom and attention but sometimes you just want to walk past unnoticed and just be yourself but I wouldn’t give this up for anything in the world. I love it and appreciate it.”
Julia, a final year student of the department of Mathematics and Statistics, was murdered in her room in a private hostel off Polytechnic Road in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State, on Tuesday, reports Saharareporters.
According to one of her co-students in the hostel, the lover had spent the previous night in the room of the deceased, and had stolen her ATM card.
“After her cultist lover had left the following day she received a debit alert of a N100,000. She received another debit alert of N45,000. Before leaving for the bank, she complained to us [about] the strange development. .
On her return from the bank where she went to complain, she told us the bank assured her that the culprit could only be known and arrested after going through their CCDC camera. She was told to go home and report back the next day, before meeting her untimely death,” the co-student said.
The source speculated that unknown to anyone in the hostel, the suspect sneaked into Julia’s room and murdered her with a battle axe, locked the corpse inside the room and ran away with her keys.
“Not until the next morning when everybody became apprehensive of her whereabouts and we had to break her door where we saw her lifeless body with blood stains everywhere in the room and the matter was reported to the Ogwashi-Uku Police Station,” the source narrated
A source at the Ogwashi-Uku station confirmed the story, adding that the police and the bank are currently working around the clock to arrest the suspect, who is on the run.
As people keep reading the already sold out book of the media personality, more shocking revelations keeps unveiling – this portion of the novel speaks on how Toke Makinwa and her estranged husband Maje set new rules while trying to work out their marriage.
The new rules were that she will have to be the connection in terms of communication between Maje and Anita when she needs anything for her son.
Read below:
“New rules were set in place: anything Anita needed, she had to
come through me. She was not to contact Maje, or he contact her.
One time Anita called Maje to say she needed money for the baby.
But because of the new rules I was the one who got to communicate
with her. I kept asking Maje for her account details but he wouldn’t
give them to me so I called Anita.
“What’s your account details,” I said, dispensing with any
pleasantries. “I have to send you some money.”
“Keep your money,” she said.
“I am not doing it for you,” I said. “Left to me, this money would
buy shoes or designer bags. I don’t really care about your situation.
I’m doing it for my husband. You don’t want to deal with me but you
should have thought about the fact that you’re having a baby by a
married man. How did you think this was going to play out?”
And she went, “Oh, right now you probably think you’re superior
to me.”
“I actually don’t feel superior to you. I feel sorry for you because
you fell for the oldest trick in the book. At your age, you’re older than
I am, a man told you he was going to leave his wife. So he came to you
and told you he wasn’t happy and he was leaving me and you bought
it, hook, line, sinker. That’s on you, that’s not on me. You can’t be
mad at me for reaching out to pay my husband’s son’s monthly fees.
You didn’t do anything special; he already has a son. I now have Maje
by his balls, and if I wanted him to forget you for the next five years he
would forget you and only deal with you away from my eyes and the
eyes of the press.”
“Hmm,” she said. “Typical Maje, telling you what you want to
hear. My child was not a mistake, my child was planned.”
“No, he wasn’t planned—”
“He was.”
And then I remembered the press release and said, “Woman to
woman, what sort of woman writes a press release with a guy to leave
his wife.”
“Correction, he wrote it. All I did was vet it.”
“Okay. So you vetted a press release written by a man with which
he was going to publicly humiliate his wife and send that to the press.
What happened to quietly separating from his wife? If you really want
this man so bad then he must get a divorce and it doesn’t have to be
public. Why would you address it to Pulse TV?”
That conversation was one of the points where I realised that if I
stayed married to Maje, this was what my life would be about—forget
what I’d said to Anita about having Maje by the balls. As if it wasn’t
bad enough that he had committed adultery, there was a constant
reminder in the form of Anita and her son who would never go away.
It was a battle, and I was exhausted from wounds that were yet to
heal.”
Omotola Jalade Ekeinde is one of the longest-married Nigerian celebrities at the moment. So when she has something to say on relationships, it has to be valid, right?
At the Africa International Film Festival which recently ended in Lagos, the actress and mother of four shares the opinion that sharing faith with one’s significant other and being disciplined are both key to making any celeb’s marriage work.
She says “If you’re a Christian and you marry someone who is not born again then you are on your own.
“Your partner needs to be stronger than you. They are the ones getting the aftermath of your own action.
“Choose a partner who understands entertainment. Don’t choose your fan. Personally, I don’t believe in love at first sight.
“Pick someone who sees your heart, your soul, someone who sees the real you and not afraid to tell you about your flaws.
“Discipline is key. Everyone wants freedom but too much freedom is bad. Be disciplined. It’s better to be an enemy to a work partner than to your family. Learn to say No!
“We are like nurses and doctors in the industry because we can be called upon at anytime”.
She also advised against giving in to advances to get movie roles.
“Sometimes you will get a role for giving yourself out but you won’t be able to retain it.
“If you become famous it will later haunt you. But don’t run away from your sexuality, don’t shy away from who you are, enjoy who you are, come on there but come out with substance.

Nigerians have reacted angrily to the recent directive by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to telecom operators to increase the tariff for data services, with several of them calling on the National Assembly to intervene in the matter.
In reaction to the NCC directive, MTN has started sending out bulk messages to its subscribers alerting them of the planned increase. The text message read: “Dear customer, please be informed that from 1st Dec, some MTN data tariffs will be increased to reflect the new rates set by the NCC to operators. Thank you.”
Sources indicate that the new rate could see subscribers of MTN, GLO, AIRTEL & Etisalat paying as much as N1000 for 500 megabytes instead of the 1 gigabyte, 1.5 gigabytes or 2 gigabytes they currently get, depending on the network.
There could be charges for other telecom services in the country in order to meet the reported proposition by Godwin Emefiele, the Central Bank Governor, for a tax from mobile phone users in the country as part of efforts to address the economic recession.
Many subscribers who reacted to the issue via their twitter handles wondered why NCC would seek to bring more hardship on Nigerians who are battling to survive the economic recession. They called on Senate President, Bukola Saraki, to stop the draconian directive by NCC.
The Senate President in a short message on his Twitter handle has promised that the Senate would intervene.
Senator Shehu Sani was among those who condemned the planned increase. “At a time telecom companies are still making billions in profits despite the recession, increasing tariff on data services is simply about extorting more from the people for data after paying more for electricity,” Senator Sani wrote.
Henry Ezeanya wrote: “can you people kindly look into the NCC’s hike in data charges. Market force bringing prices down, but NCC wants it up..”
Seyi Benz: “they want to gag us by increasing tariff so we can’t come online n harangue them on bad governance. It’s a ploy.”
Judith Hanrankis : “sir, am a student that still manage to subscribe with 1500 for my assignments, pls I can’t afford this NCC new rate,do something”.
David Olar tweeted: “Pls #SaveOurSoul @bukolasaraki Call Tariffs should be cheaper @NgComCommission can not be acting a script of incompetent.”
Olumide: “still wondering how people in NIGauthority think, other countries: almost free wifi, Nigerian govt. data4d rich”.
Umar. S: “Pls sir, don’t let them hike it. Nigerians are already feeling the heat.”
Nwachukwu Ugochukwu: We trust you to act fast on this as usual. Thanks Mr President.
Kazzem Mossa Tijani: “Enough of these extortions. Salary is not increased. Salary is not regular and everything is just going up. What a country. It seems NCC is not experiencing recession. God save us from these heartless people.”
Olushola Olufolabi: “cheap cost of reliable communication enables good business, good business translates to good economy growth”
In a short reply to the numerous tweets, Saraki confirmed that the Senate will look into the data tariff increase. “Will do”, the Senate President said.
Italy’s Emma Morano, the world’s oldest living person, marked her 117th birthday today, blowing out all the candles on her cake.
Beaming at the attention, Morano took in the festivities for her milestone celebration sitting in an armchair in her one-room apartment in the northern town of Verbania, joined by her two elderly nieces, a pair of caregivers and her long-time physician.
She received a greeting from Italy’s president, read by an official, wishing her “serenity and good healthy,” and appeared for a brief live broadcast on state-run television. She happily accepted some gifts, including her favorite cookies, which she ate with some milk.
Then she blew out the candles on her cake – not one for every year, but three numerals to show her age, 117 – and quipped: “I hope I don’t have to cut it!”
To the assembled well-wishers, Morano said, “I am happy to turn 117,” and drew encouragement from her physician, Dr. Carlo Bava.
“Who would have said it?!” the doctor remarked. “When you were young everyone used to say you were weak and sick.”
“Yes, yes,” she responded.
Happy birthday to her plus she has outlived all her seven siblings despite being the first child.

The delectable actress and mother of one, has served us this insightful relationship advice on her social media page. Be sure to take a point or two down as you read below:
“HE FORGOT ABOUT YOU.REMEMBER THAT!!!
I’m not sure why but we all do it.
Many beings waste years of their lives, chasing after people they can’t have, or lifestyles that aren’t sustainable, for reasons we don’t know.
You can’t have a person, either they will f*ck with you, or they won’t.
Nobody is out of your league, they just don’t want you in their life.
We are all human so we all make mistakes, but a mistake made twice is a choice.
Try not to seek the best looking, or those with the most money, for these are superficial ideas and money doesn’t make you happy.
You make you happy, so if you are in a situation with a person and you have the freedom to choose, but you are unhappy, this is your fault not theirs.
Stop wasting your time.
Leave the situation.
You should be looking for someone who shares sympathetic vibrations.
Someone who is on your wavelength, someone who can share the same frequency as you. Everything is a vibration, positive or negative. All elements are made up of atoms. And these are made up of a nucleus, protons (positive), neutrons (no charge) and electrons (negative). Opposites attract but if someone is in a negative space, you being in a positive space, isn’t necessarily going to help them and vice versa. You choose your own happiness, as you can choose the people you are around. (Obviously free from war, famine, poverty, drought, oppressive systems of government/religious opinions, disease etc) If you aren’t happy within yourself, you can’t be truly happy around others.
Health is not just physical.
I think this is why people Who know me love me, because I am happy and I love people.
Don’t chase waterfalls, on the surface they appear beautiful, but they are usually hiding rocks that will kill you. #chkb #POKOBARS”
What’s the joy of marriage with no fruits in it ? That aside, what’s your business with how much children a person wants in his/her marriage ?
Someone who obviously doesn’t have the answers to these questions took to the comment section of ex-beauty queen and mother of two, Adaeze Yobo to slam her and ask that she should “be useful” rather than just be a housewife who bares children only.
They went back and forth as the now pregnant beauty replied the follower who she says suffers from depression…
The user has since deleted his/her page and we can close the curtains as Adaeze has the last laugh… Hehe…
Catholic Priest and Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Father. Mbaka spoke on the recent arrest of judges for alleged involvement in bribery scandals and stated that more arrest of judges will be a welcomed development.
He made the assertion at the thanksgiving mass to mark the Enugu State Judiciary 2016/2017 legal year. He is quoted as saying:
“The arrest of the judges is a supernatural brand new revolution that is going on in all dimensions, in all the three arms of government.
When a revolution starts, you cannot imagine where it would reach.
I urge judges to remain incorruptible or be arrested and whoever arrests them should be praised.”
Reno Omokri took to his Facebook page to slam the Father for his statements and for criticizing the former president.
The Enugu Police Command on Tuesday commenced an investigation on alleged suicide by a University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) student.
In a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Mr Ebere Amarizu, the command said that the deceased, identified as Mr Tobechukwu Okeke, was a final year student of Agriculture Economics and a native of Awgu in Enugu State.
It said that Okeke was seen in his room lifeless with a blue rope on his neck hung on the ceiling fan’s hook on Nov. 27.
The command said that a note written by the deceased to his friends and relations was found at the scene of the alleged suicide.
“Some of the excerpts from the note read as follows: “I got it all wrong when I rejected Jesus. God gave me wisdom, God gave me all I needed to succeed. I rejected Him.
“My fellow gamblers, I am sorry; my fellow lions, I am sorry; my family, I let you all down,” it said.
The command noted that the body of the late student had been deposited at the Bishop Shanahan Hospital Mortuary, Nsukka.
The Acting Rector, Federal Polytechnic, Ekowe, Bayelsa State, has slumped and died at a hotel in Ughelli during alleged sex romp with an unidentified female teenager.
The rector was said to have slumped at his hotel room in Zekoh Place located at Onoharigho street, Ughelli and was rushed to a private clinic, few kilometers from the hotel were he was confirmed dead on arrival.
“He had gone to the hotel in company of a female teenager and booked a room for an hour of love session with the girl,” a source at the Ughelli Area Command told Vanguard.
Speaking further, the source said: “The girl raised an alarm when the chief slumped but absconded following reports that the victim was confirmed dead. “Though no arrest has been made in connection with the incident, a female manager of the hotel was arrested for questioning but has since been released.
”Suspecting foul play over the incident, a family member who spoke to Vanguard at the Rector’s Upper Agbarho residence said: “We are having a meeting with elders of the family if an autopsy would be conducted after which we would take a stand on the matter.”
