linda-ikeji-wide-leg-pants
Linda Ifeoma Ikeji is the famous blogger Nigerians don’t get tired of talking about. Presently, She is regarded as Nigeria’s Queen of blog and now she is revolutionizing blogging as she recently launched her ultramodern social media, Linda Ikeji Social.

In this interview with Ifeoma Ononye, she speaks on why people believe she took money from Dasuki, her real age and top three qualities her would-be-husband must possess.

Can you tell us about Linda Ikeji Social (LIS)?
The unique platform Linda Ikeji Social represents a revolutionary innovation in not just news reporting but also in facilitating social interaction. LIS creates a virtual meeting place that combines the dissemination of news as well as enabling social connection and interaction.

LIS came up as a result of feedback from the blog that people need a platform where they can not only get breaking news, but express their positions on issues as it affects their world. They can also interact and connect with friends as well as get all other important information about products and services around the world. LIS is like online blog and facebook rolled into one.

News sharing is tied to what we do every day on social media. We all have a responsibility to share things we witness that we feel could bring about change in society.

It’s a platform where you can land the home page from anywhere you are navigating from, view notification and messages and also you can submit your story and get paid, as well as make money while networking. I encourage people to sign up on the platform. I dream of being the Oprah Winfrey of Africa.

How has the journey been so far, from when you were hustling for modeling jobs to becoming a social media mogul?
The journey has been amazing. I didn’t expect to be here today. When I started hustling back then for modeling jobs, the first thing I came across back then was blogging before Facebook, Twitter, Instagram became known and popular. To be honest, when I started my blogging in November 26, 2006, the last thing in my mind was that it is going to change my life as much as it has. It was just a place for me to be creative because I love to write. I didn’t think that five years from then that all these would happen. I didn’t envision that I was going to come this far. It has been an amazing journey and definitely something that I am grateful for. Everyone is on social media but not everyone can say that it has changed their lives so much. I am grateful to God for how far I have come with his help.

Back then, blogging was not that popular, what exactly attracted you to it?
At first, I didn’t know there was anything called blogging. I never heard of it back then. At the time I was a model and kind of people knew me. I was a little popular in my own way. So Bellanaija wrote about me and my friend in United Kingdom sent me the link to the story. So I went to read the story online and that was my first encounter with blogging. Before then, the only thing I do online was just to check my email and that was it. I read the comment and it was a beautiful experience for me. I went back to Bellanaija the next day to read other stories. I was going to Bella’s blog for four months and I discovered other blogs. I enjoyed the whole experience because I loved to write. That has always been my passion. While growing up I wanted to be a journalist. Then one day I told myself that I can as well start mine since I liked the blogs so much. It took three minutes to start a blog and that was how I started blogging.

Some may want to know at what point that Linda Ikeji blog started paying off?
When you are passionate about something, you put your all in it and that was what I did. I started blogging consistently and passionately until 2010. It never occurred to me that I have built a lot of followership in that time and brands were watching. By the end of 2010, I had thousands of people following me and I never knew it would translate to money. The first time a company approached me to pay to post something, I found it very strange. I didn’t know that people like Bellanaija and Sahara reporters were charging. I had to ask a friend to send me an advert rate. It was in January 2011 that I had my own advert rate and I started sending it out to people. By February, people started paying me and since then, it’s been great.

Between the time you started and when you started getting paid, was there a time you wanted to give up?
Yes there were many times, I wanted to give up. I had bad times back then but the worst was in September 19, 2010. It was my 30th birthday. I was broke, I was angry because I have been done doing modeling in a long time. I was still struggling, I was still borrowing money, I was depressed because I felt like a failure. I will cry and cry but will still open my laptop and blog. I didn’t know that my breakthrough was at the corner and that God was leading me to it. After my 30th birthday, my life practically changed.

You have blogged a lot of news; positive, negative and controversial especially about artistes. For example Wizkid, what is your relationship with them?

I don’t want to talk about Wizkid. I have a cordial relationship with a lot of entertainers. I have had run-ins with a few of them but in recent times, I haven’t. It was when I was a bit carefree and careless with the stories I write. In a year now, I have not had any big issue with anybody.

How do you handle it when they threaten to sue you?
The only person I have threatened was wizkid. Their threat does not scare me because I believe I do more good for them than bad. And they acknowledge that. Some of them are my friends. Some of them have been to my house, some of them are on my WhatsApp chat. The negativity that comes with blogging is fine. I mean, it’s blogging, you write about people. Some people may take offense; some will react in different ways. I have been doing this for ten years and if by now I am not used to back lash, then I should get out of the business.

If you are asked what you make in a year, what will you say?
I cannot tell you what I make in a year.

Many are speculating that Linda is the richest blogger in Nigeria, how true is that?
About being the richest blogger in Nigeria, I will probably agree. Why I agree is because I talk with a lot of clients and advert agencies and they say that when they bring out an online plan for advertisers, 98% of them choose me. That means 98% of people who advertise online, advertise on my blog. They choose me and others. So I think in all honesty and modesty, I make more money than most. Not more than Punch and Vanguard but regular blogs.

In terms of your news reporting, what lessons have you learnt from your blogging experience?
It has thought me to be careful because as much as you think that you know, there are people who have in-depth knowledge of the story. Sometimes I put up a story and I read comments, from the comments, I go back to make some corrections because there are people who experienced it firsthand. I have also learnt that is important to verify your stories because basically if people rely on your site for information and you mess up a few times, they will not trust your news anymore and they go to other credible sites. And when they go, your advertisers go.

From the feedback you get, do you feel loved or hate?
It is a combination of both. I try as much as possible to hold onto the love and don’t pay attention to the hate. I have grown a thick skin to when people say vile things about me. I just laugh over it because they don’t know me. I mean if Wizkid and Olamide are tongue lashing me because of the story I wrote about them, I can understand that but if I have never written about you and you say vile things about me, I take it that the hate is coming from somewhere that is not my fault. Maybe you are angry about your situation or I remind you of something that you wish you had but you didn’t. I have been there. I have been in a situation where I was angry at people that are successful. I understand that success comes with a lot of hate. I pay more attention to people that say I inspire them.

Have you lost any valuable friendship because of what you do?
No, not really.

What about the time people said that you took money from Dasuki?
I didn’t make a big deal out of the Dasuki issue because it was overwhelming. A friend called me and told me to calm down. I mean, I bought a house on Banana Island for half a billion; people cannot wrap their mind around it. So they will assume you got it from somewhere else. Up until the news broke about Dasuki, I have never heard of him. I never dealt with anyone. I never collected money from anyone. The money I collected was PDP and APC for adverts. It was a few millions. I know that I am not guilty of anything, if not EFCC would have put me in their custody. So when I hear such stories, I can understand where they are coming from. They don’t understand how online blog can give me such money but those who deal online will tell you that I can afford to buy that house twice.

When you get married, what will happen to that house in Banana Island?
I will move to the man’s house. As long it is not a three bedroom flat in lekki. My parents will be there.

You are transforming from a blogger into a full media owner, don’t you think you are taking on quite too much, why not take it a little bit at a time?
I have been a blogger for ten years, I am bored, I want to do something else. I am 36, this is the time I have the energy and passion to run this. I delegate, I have staff now. I have over 30 people that work here so they are the ones running all of these. I don’t limit myself at all. I believe there is absolutely nothing I cannot do. I get like six hours a day. I sleep five hours in the night.

People believe you don’t write negative stories about your friends?
That is not true. If I write negative stories about people, I won’t be here talking. I will be hiding somewhere because I get a lot of stories. I would rather they take a picture with me when they see me than threaten me. I make money from writing positive stories so why should I concentrate on negative stories.

You released a video on your birthday talking about some personal stuff, what influenced that?
It’s now that I want to marry. I didn’t want to marry earlier. I just got emotional a bit and it was my birthday and I just wanted to get things off my chest. It was my birthday as I wished I was married.

But do you get proposals? Back then and now, how are the proposals coming?
I have always had proposals. People say when a woman is successful, men run away, it’s a lie. That is when they chase you the more but unfortunately, I have not seen what I am looking for. Men are not scarce. It is the type of men that I am looking for that is scarce. I want a man that I can look up to. I want someone that inspires me. I want a man that will push me to achieve more. I want someone who has achieved some success in his own career. Someone I can learn from. I am inspired by successful people. I can’t wait to meet someone like Tyler Perry.

So you cannot marry a poor guy?
No I cannot marry a poor man. He does not have to be overly rich but he must be successful in his own career. When I was 30, my standards were very high. I was so focused on work. I have been so ambitious. I was not focused on marriage and kids because I know that would draw me back. It is just recently that I told myself that ‘Linda, you are 36, four years to 40. What are you doing?’ At 30, I had a long list of how I want my would-be-husband to be. When I turned 35, I reviewed the list and not, there are only three options on the list. My top three: A good man; successful and a man that will not stifle me or stop me from what I am doing presently, because I cannot be stifled. A man that is carrying and sexy. He also must be good in the bedroom.

What about the part where people say that you are 46 and not 36 years old? Why do you feel comfortable to talk about your age unlike many women?
It is very simple to tell anyone’s age. I mean, once you tell me the year you finished secondary school, I can tell your age. I finished secondary school in 1997 from Lagos Anglican Girls Grammar school. I was 16 going on 17. If I am 46 then I finished secondary school in the 80’s. The following year 1998, I entered university of Lagos.

“My husband is frustrating me in bed”

“My name is Camilla, a 30-year-old woman. I have been married for six years with one kid but presently, I am not enjoying my marriage.

My husband, Harry, is really making me regret agreeing to marry him ahead of Efosa, my ex-boyfriend who also wanted to marry me.

I saw Harry more of a gentleman because he was always calm in everything he does while Efosa was the hypersensitive type, always out for one adventure or the other.

Efosa was not ready for marriage just yet and wanted me to wait for two more years while at 26, I was due for marriage especially as my family was on my neck.

What Harry lacked in bed, Efosa was the bomb and he always got the better of me when it comes to sex.

While Harry is meticulous and likes to put things in proper perspectives, Efosa was always ready for anything. In fact, we could have sex every day for a month and he would not be tired but with my husband, sex has never been a priority for him.

In the first year of our marriage, sleeping with my husband was just manageable where we had sex on an average of three times a week but in the past two years, it has plummeted so much that it takes a miracle for us to have sex once in three months.

Anytime I try to seduce him, he would complain of tiredness, not being in the mood or just plainly not interested. We have gone six months without sex and he does not see anything wrong in that.

He keeps telling me that while he is busy trying to put food on the table and take care of the bills, all I care about is sex.

It is not as if I do not understand how things are in the country but I am a woman and just as he tries to meet the needs of the family, my emotional needs should be taken care of as well.

I am getting tempted to get a man to do what my husband has refused to do and no one should blame me.

Camilla.”

Policemen torture students, take N20,000 bribe

When Princewill Jumbo, a 300-level student of Rivers State University of Science and Technology, and his friends were returning to Port Harcourt from a burial in the Buguma area of the state on Saturday, little did they know that they were going to spend the rest of the weekend in police custody.

The friends are Iyoyo Soberekon, Charles Benjamin, Julius Abazie and Franklin Ordu, who is said to be a final year student of the institution.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the victims were arrested by the Anti-Cultism Squad of the state police command at a park in Buguma, where they wanted to board a bus en route to their residence in Port Harcourt around 5pm on that day.

It was gathered that the chairman of a motorcycle riders’ association had called the policemen on the telephone after an argument ensued between the victims and one of the riders who conveyed them to the park.

The police team, numbering about six, were said to have whisked away the five friends to their station on the ground that they were cult members.

Princewill, who spoke on the telephone with our correspondent on Tuesday, said the operatives undressed him and his friends and beat them with sides of cutlasses.

It was learnt that the victims, except Ordu who is still in custody as of the time of filing this report, were released on Monday.

Princewill said, “Franklin (Ordu) gave the rider N500 and requested N300 change, but the rider said he did not have change. His co-riders volunteered to split it but he refused. He said Franklin must find N200. That was how the argument started. As we were arguing, a man, who called himself the park manager, wanted to slap Franklin. We cautioned him and the next thing he did was to call the policemen on the telephone that cult members were disturbing the community.

“The policemen removed our clothes. We were left with only our boxers. They told us to lie on the floor and they started flogging us with the sides of cutlasses. They beat us up as we made our statements. When the beating persisted Franklin told them that he was a cultist. They later took us to the Swift Operation Squad office in Port Harcourt.

“Inside the cell, there is a 13-year-old boy, called Small. He told us he was arrested a few weeks ago around his house in Abonima and that his family members were not aware that he was in police custody. Others we met there said they were just picked on the roads.”

Twenty two-year-old Princewill said he was in pains, urging that the policemen, who assaulted them, should be brought to book.

“I don’t know their names but I can recognise them,” he added.

His father, Mr. Progress Jumbo, said, he parted with N20,000 because the policemen threatened to implicate Princewill.

He said, “The policemen asked me to pay N20,000 or else they would send a letter to my son’s school that he was a cult member. That was the threat they used to extort the money from me. As a father, I had to succumb to their threat. Why should I allow my son to be rusticated for no reason?”

Princewill’s sister, Mrs. Peace Asoka, said, “The authorities need to know about this incident so that the police can stop harassing innocent persons. The policemen involved in this should be brought to justice. They collected N2,000 from me before I was allowed to see my brother in the cell.”

Benjamin, one of the victims, described the incident as “embarrassing”, and demanded Ordu’s release

“They kicked my face before they used the cutlass on me. They did not behave like policemen,” he added.

The Rivers State Police spokesperson, Mr. Nnamdi Omoni, urged the victims to come to his office for the identification of the policemen involved in the alleged assault.

“As for Franklin (Ordu), somebody has to stand as a surety for him before he can be released. The person has to sign an undertaking that he will be of good behaviour henceforth,” he added.

Watch Video of TB Joshua predicting Hillary Clinton’s victory

tb-joshua-nov-7-2016

The video of Prophet TB Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations predicting the victory of Hillary Clinton of the Democrats at the just concluded presidential election in the United States of America has surfaced.

However, Joshua’s prophecy failed as Donald Trump of the Republican emerged victorious Wednesday morning.

In the video, the prophet said, “I want to share with you what I saw ten days ago. I saw the new president of America. That 10 days ago, I saw in a vision president of America with a narrow win.

“They were telling me that a man would have won the election but a woman will eventually win narrowly. And the new president would be facing challenges over many issues.”

Meanwhile, the social media community is making a meal out of the man of God for trying to portray God as a liar.

“Thank you. Thank you very much, everyone. Sorry to keep you waiting. Complicated business, complicated. Thank you very much.

I’ve just received a call from secretary Clinton. She congratulated us. It’s about us. On our victory, and I congratulated her and her family on a very, very hard-fought campaign.

I mean she fought very hard. Hillary has worked very long and very hard over a long period of time, and we owe her a major debt of gratitude for her service to our country.

I mean that very sincerely. Now it is time for America to bind the wounds of division, have to get together, to all Republicans and Democrats and independents across this nation I say it is time for us to come together as one united people.

It is time. I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all of Americans, and this is so important to me. For those who have chosen not to support me in the past, of which there were a few people, I’m reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so that we can work together and unify our great country.

As I’ve said from the beginning, ours was not a campaign but rather an incredible and great movement, made up of millions of hard-working men and women who love their country and want a better, brighter future for themselves and for their family.

It is a movement comprised of Americans from all races, religions, backgrounds and beliefs, who want and expect our government to serve the people, and serve the people it will.

Working together we will begin the urgent task of rebuilding our nation and renewing the American dream. I’ve spent my entire life in business, looking at the untapped potential in projects and in people all over the world.

That is now what I want to do for our country. Tremendous potential. I’ve gotten to know our country so well. Tremendous potential. It is going to be a beautiful thing. Every single American will have the opportunity to realize his or her fullest potential. The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer.

We are going to fix our inner cities and rebuild our highways, bridges, tunnels, airports, schools, hospitals.

We’re going to rebuild our infrastructure, which will become, by the way, second to none, and we will put millions of our people to work as we rebuild it. We will also finally take care of our great veterans who have been so loyal, and I’ve gotten to know so many over this 18-month journey.

The time I’ve spent with them during this campaign has been among my greatest honors.

Our veterans are incredible people. We will embark upon a project of national growth and renewal. I will harness the creative talents of our people and we will call upon the best and brightest to leverage their tremendous talent for the benefit of all. It is going to happen. We have a great economic plan. We will double our growth and have the strongest economy anywhere in the world.

At the same time we will get along with all other nations, willing to get along with us. We will be. We will have great relationships. We expect to have great, great relationships. No dream is too big, no challenge is too great. Nothing we want for our future is beyond our reach.

America will no longer settle for anything less than the best. We must reclaim our country’s destiny and dream big and bold and daring. We have to do that. We’re going to dream of things for our country, and beautiful things and successful things once again.

I want to tell the world community that while we will always put America’s interests first, we will deal fairly with everyone, with everyone.

All people and all other nations. We will seek common ground, not hostility, partnership, not conflict. And now I would like to take this moment to thank some of the people who really helped me with this, what they are calling tonight a very, very historic victory.

First I want to thank my parents, who I know are looking down on me right now. Great people. I’ve learned so much from them. They were wonderful in every regard. I are truly great parents. I also want to thank my sisters, Marianne and Elizabeth who are here with us tonight. Where are they? They’re here someplace. They’re very shy actually.

And my brother Robert, my great friend. Where is Robert? Where is Robert?

My brother Robert, and they should be on this stage but that’s okay. They’re great.
And also my late brother Fred, great guy. Fantastic guy. Fantastic family. I was very lucky .

Great brothers, sisters, great, unbelievable parents. To Melania and Don and Ivanka and Eric and Tiffany and Barron, I love you and I thank you, and especially for putting up with all of those hours. This was tough.
This was tough. This political stuff is nasty and it is tough. So I want to thank my family very much. Really fantastic. Thank you all. Thank you all. Lara, unbelievable job. Unbelievable. Vanessa, thank you. Thank you very much. What a great group.

You’ve all given me such incredible support, and I will tell you that we have a large group of people. You know, they kept saying we have a small staff. Not so small. Look at all of the people that we have. Look at all of these people.

And Kellyanne and Chris and Rudy and Steve and David. We have got tremendously talented people up here, and I want to tell you it’s been very, very special.

I want to give a very special thanks to our former mayor, Rudy Giuliani. He’s unbelievable. Unbelievable. He traveled with us and he went through meetings, and Rudy never changes. Where is Rudy. Where is he?
[Chanting “Rudy”]

Gov. Chris Christie, folks, was unbelievable. Thank you, Chris. The first man, first senator, first major, major politician — let me tell you, he is highly respected in Washington because he is as smart as you get, senator Jeff sessions. Where is Jeff? A great man. Another great man, very tough competitor. He was not easy. He was not easy.

Who is that? Is that the mayor that showed up? Is that Rudy?

Up here. Really a friend to me, but I’ll tell you, I got to know him as a competitor because he was one of the folks that was negotiating to go against those Democrats, Dr. Ben Carson. Where’s been? Where is Ben? By the way, Mike Huckabee is here someplace, and he is fantastic. Mike and his familiar bring Sarah, thank you very much. Gen. Mike Flynn. Where is Mike? And Gen. Kellogg. We have over 200 generals and admirals that have endorsed our campaign and there are special people. We have 22 congressional medal of honor people.

A very special person who, believe me, I read reports that I wasn’t getting along with him. I never had a bad second with him. He’s an unbelievable star. He is — that’s right, how did you possibly guess? Let me tell you about Reince. I’ve said Reince. I know it. I know it. Look at all of those people over there. I know it, Reince is a superstar. I said, they can’t call you a superstar, Reince, unless we win it. Like secretariat. He would not have that bust at the track at Belmont.

Reince is really a star and he is the hardest working guy and in a certain way I did this. Reince, come up here. Get over here, Reince.

Boy, oh, boy, oh, boy. It’s about time you did this right. My god. Nah, come here. Say something. [Reince Priebus: Ladies and gentlemen, the next president of the united States, Donald Trump! Thank you. It’s been an honor. God bless. Thank God.]

Amazing guy. Our partnership with the RNC was so important to the success and what we’ve done, so I also have to say, I’ve gotten to know some incredible people.

The Secret Service people. They’re tough and they’re smart and they’re sharp and I don’t want to mess around with them, I can tell ya. And when I want to go and wave to a big group of people and they rip me down and put me back down in the seat, but they are fantastic people so I want to thank the Secret Service.

And law enforcement in New York City, they’re here tonight. These are spectacular people, sometimes under appreciated unfortunately, we we appreciate them. So it’s been what they call an historic event, but to be really historic, we have to do a great job and I promise you that I will not let you down. We will do a great job.

We will do a great job. I look very much forward to being your president and hopefully at the end of two years or three years or four years or maybe even eight years you will say so many of you worked so hard for us, with you you will say that — you will say that that was something that you were — really were very proud to do and I can — thank you very much.

And I can only say that while the campaign is over, our work on this movement is now really just beginning. We’re going to get to work immediately for the American people and we’re going to be doing a job that hopefully you will be so proud of your president. You will be so proud. Again, it’s my honor.

It’s an amazing evening. It’s been an amazing two-year period and I love this country. Thank you.
Thank you very much. Thank you to Mike Pence.”

Kenyan man caught having sex with his neighbour’s goat blames the act on rejection from women

kenyan-goat-0

Gabrielle Simiyu, Kenyan man pictured above, a motocycle operator was almost lynched by an irate mob after he was caught having sex with a goat.

The horny 26 year old says he had sex with the animal because he was rejected by women and villagers claimed it wasn’t the first time and he had previously coupled with a chicken and a cow.

Luck ran out on Simiyu after the female goat’s owner, Richard Wanyonyi, heard bleating and checked his shed in the village of Nangwe, Kenya.

He told local media:

“I thought my animals were strangling each other so I tiptoed to the cow shed and flashed my torch. “I was shocked when I found the man but he ran away very fast. “Since it was at night I did not see him very well so I took the shoes he left behind and began a search in the morning.”

Mr Wanyonyi showed the shoes to other motorcycle taxi operators and they told him they belonged to Simiyu. Kenyan media said Simiyu admitted having sex with the animal and pleaded for forgiveness.

FG moves to shut down MMM Operations in Nigeria

mmm-1

The Federal Government of Nigeria has initiated moves to shut down MMM operations in Nigeria.

Managing Director of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), Alhaji Umaru Ibrahim, said regulators have set up a Committee to stem the nefarious activities of the fraudsters across the country.

“I wish to sound a word of caution to members of the public on the activities of illegal fund managers, otherwise known as Wonder Banks.

“It is worrisome to note that despite repeated advice, many unsuspecting members of the public are still falling victims to the mouth-watering interest being offered by these illegal fund managers.

“Members of the public are therefore advised to patronise only banking institutions that display the NDIC sticker: “Insured by NDIC” in their banking halls or entrances.

Nigerians come for TB Joshua after he Prophesied he saw a woman as US Next President

tb-joshua-nov-7-2016-2

You all should recall that exactly two days ago, controversial Clergy man, Prophet TB Joshua revealed his prophecy of seeing a ‘woman’ as The US Presidential Election Winner.

TB Joshua, who has successfully predicted major world events and incidents, did not mention any particular name but said he saw a woman as the winner of the election.

If that is the case therefore, it means Hillary is the predicted winner of the election.

The revered prophet made his prediction on the church’s official Facebook wall.

“Ten days ago, I saw the new president of America with a narrow win. The new Ppesident will be facing several challenges over many issues, including: passing bills, attempts to possibly pass a vote of no confidence on the new president. The boat of the new president will be rocked.

“By the way, in order not to keep you in suspense, what I frankly saw is a woman,” he predicted.

Hillary Clinton Calls Trump To Concede Election Defeat

_88531728_hi031757035

Hillary Clinton called US president elect Donald Trump today and conceded defeat, reports US networks.

Earlier, Clinton’s campaign manager, John Podesta, made it clear that the Democratic candidate will not meet with thousands of supporters at her campaign headquarter in New York.

Asking the gathering to return home, he said, ” Several states are too close to call, so we are not going to have anything more to say tonight…It’s been a long night, and it’s been a long campaign. But I say, we can wait a little longer, can’t we?”

Earlier, sources in Clinton’s team said that she had a victory and a concession speech ready

BREAKING: Donald Trump has been elected President of the United States of America

donalds

WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump was elected America’s 45th president Tuesday, an astonishing victory for a celebrity businessman and political novice who capitalized on voters’ economic anxieties, took advantage of racial tensions and overcame a string of sexual assault allegations on his way to the White House.

His triumph over Hillary Clinton will end eight years of Democratic dominance of the White House and threatens to undo major achievements of President Barack Obama.

He’s pledged to act quickly to repeal Obama’s landmark health care law, revoke the nuclear agreement with Iran and rewrite important trade deals with other countries, particularly Mexico and Canada.

The Republican blasted through Democrats’ longstanding firewall, carrying Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, states that hadn’t voted for a GOP presidential candidate since the 1980s.

Donald won with 56,918,173 votes over Hilary Clinton who had 55,900,992 votes… A stunning 1,017,181 lead.

Trump will take office with Congress expected to be fully under Republican control. GOP Senate candidates fended off Democratic challengers in key states and appeared poised to maintain the majority. Republicans also maintained their grip on the House.

Clinton Crowd Shocked and Tensed as Trump Take Lead

crowd

New York — Thousands of Hillary Clinton supporters who flooded the glass-ceilinged Javits Center Tuesday to watch their candidate become the first woman to be elected president Tuesday night were beginning to show sharp signs of concern as they watched Trump pick up several battleground states on the big screen.

The crowd was nearly silent as they listened to MSNBC’s Steve Kornacki map out Trump’s path to victory — if he takes Michigan and Florida. The Sunshine State has since been called for Trump.

Quickly, the channel cut out and New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo took the stage, saying it’s fitting that Clinton will be elected president in New York, “the birthplace of the women’s rights movement.”

“It’s shocking. I can’t believe it’s this close. I’m shocked,” said Terri, a supporter from Washington, D.C., who didn’t want to use her last name. She said she had been fielding texts from family and friends all night, asking her how it could be possible that Trump could win.

Another young woman wearing a pantsuit repeatedly refreshed the New York Times on her phone, a stressed expression on her face. Many supporters sat down near the back, their eyes glued on their phones.

Others turned to gallows humor. “The only consolation is Vladimir Putin is thrilled,” one supporter said to another.

Zimbabwean Girl Commits Suicide After Her Nigerian Boyfriend Rejected Her Pregnancy

zimbs-0

A Zimbabwean student studying at Cyprus International University (CIU) allegedly committed suicide in her apartment after her Nigerian boyfriend, who is studying at the same institution, impregnated her and denied responsibility.

Via Chronicles.co.zw

Elizabeth Choto, 27, hanged herself on a bunk bed in her apartment at the institution last Friday following a misunderstanding with her unidentified Nigerian boyfriend over pregnancy.

The boyfriend allegedly denied responsibility and broke up with her immediately.

CIU confirmed the incident through its blog ciuconnect.blogspot.com saying police were still investigating the matter.

“A Cyprus International University female Zimbabwe student Miss Elizabeth Choto has committed suicide. It has been confirmed that the student was resident in CIU apartment A2 Block.

“We urge all students to remain calm as the police is investigating the true cause of her death. An autopsy is currently ongoing on her body and an official statement will be released by the University International Centre tomorrow Saturday 5th November 2016. We will keep the general public posted.”

CIU Nigerian Students’ Union president Ifeoluwa Wole-Wosho also confirmed the tragic incident saying what had happened was regrettable.

zimbs-01

Posting on his Facebook page, Wole-Wosho said there was need for Africans in the diaspora to treat each other with respect and as family.

“The events of today weighed heavily upon my heart. Today, in CIU we lost a colleague, a friend and sister Miss Elizabeth Choto. I do not intend to speculate about the cause of her death. I would just like to send my condolences to her family, her friends and all the Zimbabwean community in CIU. I speak for all Nigerian students at CIU when I say we mourn with you”.

A Zimbabwean student at the university who spoke on condition of anonymity said Choto fell pregnant by her Nigerian boyfriend but he immediately denied responsibility when she informed him prompting the woman to take her own life.

“I know Choto because we are in the same union of Zimbabweans studying at CIU. We were the first to know of her death and we were running around as fellow countrymen.

“What happened is that she had a misunderstanding with her Nigerian boyfriend after she informed him that she was pregnant. The boyfriend immediately broke up with her and denied responsibility. She committed suicide and was found dead in her hostel,” said the source.

Kidnappers Now Go Into Homes In Festac To Abduct

kidnapp

There is tension on E1 Close, 7th Avenue in the FESTAC Town area of Lagos State after gunmen invaded the area and abducted two residents.

The victims are a 26-year-old married woman, Oluchi Jovita, and a 45-year-old man, Remigus Igwe.

Punch Metro learnt that the assailants, said to be four men in military uniform, went to the area in a speedboat around 10pm on Thursday.

It was gathered that the gunmen, who also wore masks, dragged Jovita out of her apartment.

The abductors, who were said to have sneaked into E1 Close through an opening created in a fence, also brought out Igwe, who lived close to Jovita, and whisked away the two victims through a bush path.

Punch was told that the gunmen escaped in a speedboat through the river beside the FESTAC Town link road.

The matter was reported at the FESTAC Town Police Division, and operatives went to the scene, where they searched in vain for the abducted residents and the gunmen.

When Punch Metro got to the area on Monday, Jovita and Igwe’s apartments were locked.

A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the gunmen did not shoot in order not to alert anyone, adding that it was the woman’s husband who went to the police station.

He said, “It was around 10pm on Thursday. Most of us had locked our gates. The gunmen went to the apartments of their victims and ordered them out at gunpoint. They did not use the gates and they did not shoot so as not to arouse suspicion.

“It was after they had left that news got to me that two persons were abducted. The policemen came to this place, but the gunmen had escaped. We suspect that there could be an insider giving information to the kidnappers.

“The two residents have yet to return home. Their families may have been contacted for ransoms, but nobody knows.”

A police source at the division said the operatives saw the footsteps of the gunmen, adding that their escape was successful because they came on a speedboat.

He said, “The woman’s husband, Eze, came to the station around 11pm to report that his wife and another neighbour had been abducted.

“Policemen from the division mounted a stop-and-search points on the roads, but there was no result.

“We came across the kidnappers footsteps along the bank of the Amuwo Odofin river. That made the arrest difficult because the hoodlums came and escaped through the waterways. They broke the fence and attacked their victims.”

Punch correspondent gathered that the matter had been transferred to the State Department of Criminal Intelligence and Investigation, Yaba.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the incident.

She said, “The case is under investigation. Effort is in top gear to get the abductees freed.”

Official Laments Increasing Cases Of Abandoned Babies

abandoned-baby-1

Yomi Adagazu, Director of Child Development in the Nasarawa State Ministry of Women Affairs, has raised alarm over increasing cases of abandoned babies in Lafia, the state capital, and environs.

Mrs. Adagazu expressed concern over the trend in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, on Tuesday in Lafia.

She noted that three babies were abandoned at different locations in Lafia and environs within the last one month.

“We recall that a day-old baby girl was abandoned along Shendam Road, Lafia on November 1, while another baby boy was dumped at the Bukan-Sidi cemetery the following day.

“The mother of the baby girl, a 17-year-old lady eventually turned herself in to the police and claimed maternity of the child.

“She cited frustration as reasons for her action and had been reunited with the baby while efforts are on to establish the veracity of her claims,” Mrs. Adagazu added.

The director said that the baby boy had been taken to Maimuna Katai Orphanage in the metropolis for proper upkeep.

She described as unfortunate the way girls were abandoning their babies in spite of the fact that these babies were precious gifts from God.

She appealed to members of the public and organisations to assist the orphanages in the state in catering for the children and assured of the ministry’s commitment to the proper upbringing of the orphans.

The official implored parents to closely monitor their children and wards, especially the female ones and properly educate them on sexual issues.

Mrs. Adagazu equally cautioned young girls to guard against peer pressure that could result in early sex, which could jeopardise their future.

7 surprising reasons WHY men love woman’s breast

There is something on a woman’s body that intrigues men and women alike and that’s the breasts.

A man’s attraction to woman’s breasts in most cases determines his level of sexual attraction to the woman herself.

Here are the 7 most common reasons men love breasts (according to the male psycho).

1. Breasts are mysterious:

At the onset of puberty, a young boy starts to notice the organs in a girl’s body that aren’t on his own body.

He notices that while he and his friends can go out topless, girls can’t. And is awed by the mysteriousness attached to girls chests. He then goes around on the mischievous mission of finding out more by asking asks his elder brother or older male friends.

He is informed that those things around a girl’s chest are called breasts or boobs. From that very young age, boys grow up fascinated by breasts because they are simply mysterious in nature. Softer than any other part of a girls body.

Produces milk at child-birth. Milk dries up after breastfeeding stops. They have nipples that become hardened when she is sexually aroused.

They jump up and down when she runs. Nothing is more mysterious to a man than a woman’s breasts. Absolutely nothing.

Kirirkiri and 4 other prisons in Nigeria that will put fear of God in you (photos)

Let us begin with a story, former President Olusegun Obasanjo told in 2014. The then Akwa Ibom state governor, Godswill Akpabio did something quite funny and eye-opening.

While reacting to the crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Akpabio, confessed to the putrid performance of governments of the PDP as they faced an uncertain journey to the polls: “We have messed up,” he pleaded with Obasanjo, whose help he sought, “Please [don’t abandon us].

For me, I don’t want to go to jail and my children are too young…” Even among the high and mighty, the fear of prisons in Nigeria is a real thing. And these are the most feared ones:

1. Kirirki maximum security

most-feared-prisons-0

The Kirikiri maximum security prison located in Apapa, Lagos is already infamous for their congestion. As at February 1, 1990, had a population of 1,645 but only a rated capacity of 956 .

Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison is also infamous for its “degrading” treatment of prisoners , “appalling” living conditions, sub-standard medical care, and a very high death rate.

Currently, its official capacity is 1,056. It was first established in 1955. Paul Chiama of Leadership once wrote that “The mention of Kirikiri first reminds any Nigerian of” this prison.

It has held notable prisoners like: Chief Bode George, Clifford Orji, Al-Mustapha and Major General Shehu Musa Yar’Adua.
