In a shocking twist of events, the mothers of the two teenagers flogged by Ghanaian Bishop Daniel Obinim have come forward to defend the controversial pastor’s actions.
In an exclusive interview with Joy News, the mother of the young girl stated that she is ready to invoke curses on the people demanding for Obinim’s arrest.
The boy’s mother, on the other hand, revealed that had supported Obinim’s decision to flog her son in front of his congregation from the get-go. She also added that she was very excited to watch ‘Angel Obinim’ discipline her son.
“When my husband died and we needed help, no Ghanaian intervened, not even my family. Angel Obinim took me in and enrolled my son in school so they should leave the ‘angel’ alone” the boy’s mother stated.
Meanwhile, the girl’s mother had this to say:
“Papa should have beaten her more. Imagine what would have happened if the prophecy had not come and she drunk the medicine to abort the baby,” she added.
Obinim has since defended his actions and remained unrepentant. Yesterday, Human Rights Lawyer Francis Xavier Sosu and two others filed suits against him seeking to have the bishop arrested and prosecuted for his conduct.
