“Bishop Obinim Needs Reformation And Prayers” – Psychiatrist Says.

A renowned Ghanaian psychiatrist, Dr. Yao Mfodwo has said the founder of the International God’s Way church, Bishop Daniel Obinim needs reformation and prayers.

According to him, the miracle worker has shown consistent signs of a man who needs correction and help from Ghanaians.

The comments come after the controversial pastor was held two nights by the Police for fraud and assault. He has however been granted a GHC2 million self-recognizance bail.

Speaking to Kwaku Sakyi-Addo on the Lounge Friday, Dr. Mfodwo said the actions of Obinim must not be taken for granted by the Ghanaian authorities.

“If what we are hearing is true, Bishop Obinim needs reformation and correction. “When someone is in the news for things other than their work, we should all be really concerned,” he said.

The controversial miracle worker was detained at the Nima Police station on Tuesday and spent the night in Police cells after his arrest over a GHC11.6 million fraud.

Obinim was arrested in Tema and transferred to the Accra Police headquarters for questioning. He was later charged for defrauding under false pretense.

Public Relations Officer of the Police CID ASP Joseph Benefo Darkwa stated a complaint was lodged with the Police in Tema a few weeks ago by a businessman who said he gave an amount of GH¢780,000 to Okomfo Gyapata of Mampong Nkwanta near Koforidua in the Eastern region to do a spiritual ritual to bless the money obtained from a gold deal.

ASP Darkwa narrated that the complainant added after some time, he realised that the Okomfo was not able to help him neither was he able to return his money, so he went to Bishop Obinim to help him retrieve the money and do the rituals to bless the money for him.

ASP Darkwa said it was based on that, that Bishop Obinim asked the businessman to bring the rest of the gold money which amounted to GH¢11.6 million belonging to the family.

The complainant told the police since he gave the money to the Bishop in November last year, Obinim has not been able to do what he was expected to do neither has he given him back his money.

A man who claims he is 145-years-old says he’s so old now he can’t stand living anymore. Mbah Gotho even bought his gravestone 20 years ago.

According to documents recognised by Indonesian officials, Mbah Gotho is 145 and was born on New Year’s Eve in 1870. He has surprisingly outlived all 10 of his siblings as well as his FOUR wives, the last of whom died in 1988.

All of his children have also died, and now he is survived by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

If the documents are true, that makes him significantly older than the verified oldest person in the world ever – a title that belongs to French woman Jeanne Calment who lived to be 122.

The super senior citizen from Sragen, Central Java, was recently interviewed by Liputan 6, and he said he has been through it all and would not mind passing on.

“What I want is to die. My grandchildren are all independent,” he told Liputan 6 on Tuesday.

Suryanto, Mbah Gotho’s grandson, said his grandfather has been preparing for his death ever since he was 122, but it never seemed to come.

He said:

“The gravestone there was made in 1992. That was 24 years ago.”

In addition, Suryanto said Mbah Gotho’s family has already prepared a grave site for him – near his children’s graves.

Staff at the Indonesian records office have confirmed Mbah Gotho’s birth date, which is specified on his Indonesian ID card as December 31, 1870.

Whether or not he will ever be listed as the world’s oldest man however is open to question, as the paperwork has so far not been independently verified.

If so he will join others without verifiable records who are believed to be older than Mbah Gotho – 171-year-old James Olofintuyi from Nigeria and 163-year-old Dhaqabo Ebba from Ethiopia.

These days, his grandchildren say Mbah Gotho mostly sits listening to the radio because his eyesight is too poor to watch TV.

For the past three months, he has had to be spoon-fed and bathed as he has become more frail. When asked what his secret to longevity is, Mbah Gotho replied: “The recipe is just patience.”

Twenty year old Mr. Oluwole Sunday is not your regular commercial motorcyclist – the only thing “commercial” about his okada business is that while other okada riders transport members of the public from one point to another in the Lagos metropolis, he made his money by transporting robbers on their daily operations, but unfortunately, that didn’t last.

His “business” was shut down recently by the police in Lagos during an outing with a member of his gang in Egbeda area of Lagos.

According to Sunday, a father of one, he met his accomplice, 18-year-old Ahmed Musa in a relaxation joint and having introduced himself as an okada rider, they contracted their criminal alliance.

But first, they needed a gun.

The Abeokuta, Ogun State indigene said,

“When we brought up the issue of a gun, we spoke with another friend we met at the same joint, Michael, and he said he could get us a gun.

“He took us to a bathroom in his father’s house. The gun was hidden in a hole in the bathroom.

“The first time we went on an operation together, we were able to operate successfully that day on my motorcycle. We robbed many people. I was given N10, 000.

“This last operation, I was promised N20, 000 which is double the normal amount. I did not know that would be the day we would be caught. We had not even robbed anybody that day when we were arrested at Shasha in Egbeda.”

Sunday’s accomplice, Ahmed Musa, who wielded the gun and snatched bags and jewellery anytime they went out for operations, claimed that it was his first time ever going out with him.

Musa, an Ilorin, Kwara State indigene, said he had just finished his apprenticeship as a generator repairer last year and he realised there was no way he could afford to buy equipment to set up a shop.

He said,

“Hunger pushed me into robbery. I thought to myself that it is either I do this thing or I die of hunger. I stopped school at Senior Secondary One and my trade has not produced any money.

“We planned to target women bags and jewellery mostly the day we were arrested. I am not happy about becoming a robber. My family do not know what has happened to me.”

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, said apart from Musa and Sunday, 15 other robbers who specialised in robbing Lagos residents on motorcycles were arrested in the last one week.

He said some of the robbers concentrated on people leaving banks with the hope that any bag they held must have money in it. According to him, the police impounded a motorcycle used by one of the suspects that had been modified for increased speed.

“During the operations that led to the arrest of the suspects, two of them engaged the police in a shootout and they were killed in the process,” Owoseni said.

We are two different people and from the pictures I have seen, I noticed he uses a lot of heavy make-up, I use only powder and that is because I am on the television. Also, he is a lot lighter than I am. We have met once and we do not have any beef.

When we met, the first thing I asked him about his lashes because he wore very nice eye lashes and I love eye lashes. I told him his lashes were nice and he even told me where he did it and how much it cost. I have heard a lot of things that he said about me which are not so nice. Maybe it is to get my attention,” he said.

“How Our Plan To Kidnap Femi Otedola For N2b Ransom Failed” – Robbery Suspects

An armed robbery suspect, Ikechukwu Daniel, also known as Ike, has disclosed that his gang hatched a plan to kidnap the businessman Femi Otedola but it was foiled by the police.

Daniel, 28, who was arrested by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team, IRT, for allegedly masterminding the April 27, 2016, abduction of Senator Iyabo Anisulowo, Ogun State, told Saturday Sun that he and members of his gang were perfecting plans to abduct the billionaire businessman, before he was arrested.

He narrated that they missed him once when he attended a function at Ibadan Oyo State, due to heavy presence of security operatives, but they decided to take a little time and prepare properly for the operation.

According to him, there was someone working with Otedola who brought the idea to them and the person told them that the oil magnet was going to be in Ibadan. Acting on that tip off, they went there, but saw that there was heavy security presence around him.

“So, I told my gang members that we must wait and plan very well before carrying out the operation. I told them that the first thing I would do so as to ensure that the operation was successful, was to do spiritual sacrifice to the gods and ensure that I defeat spiritually before going for him. You know a man like Otedola is powerful spiritually.

“Then the next step was to ensure that we get army, DSS and police uniforms. I realised without impersonation there was no way I would be able to go close to a man of such status. While the last on our list was to ensure that we monitor his movements regularly through our contact that is close to him and we would strike on a day that he has very little security men around me.

“I would have achieved all this by November and if we succeed it will be my last job as I would demand, N2 billion and I am hopeful he will pay nothing less than N500million.”

Daniel also disclosed during his interview that he made sure that he was always steps ahead of security operatives by ensuring that he is acquainted with strategies of the DSS and the police in tackling kidnapping and other violent crimes.

“I have a friend who is into hacking and he helped me hacked into DSS and police websites and through that process I normally monitor their new tracking methods. Before I was arrested I knew the police was looking for me but I believed in my knowledge of Nigeria security apparatus but it failed me”, he lameneted.

A Texas police officer had a young black girl calm down after her father was pulled over for a routine traffic stop.

According to ABC news, Michael Harris was stopped by Officer Mike Collins from the Frisco Police Department with his 7-year-old daughter Mikylie in the car.

“Once the officer got to my door he asked me for my license and registration and I told him that I had a conceal carry license and that I had a pistol on my right hip,” Harris told ABC News today.

“After I told him that, my daughter came out of the back crying and freaking out.

“The police officer gave her a little sticker, a little badge sticker,” Harris continued, which he said helped calm her down.

Collins let Mikylie play in the police car and turn on the lights and sirens, according to Harris.

“That made her feel a lot more comfortable with police officers,” he noted.

Harris said Mikylie had become wary of cops after the recent shootings in the country.

“Right after the Dallas shootings happened, she asked me, ‘Daddy why are the white people and black people killing each other?’ I didn’t know what to say,” Harris said.

But Collins set a good example for Mikylie.

“It was a great experience” for her, Harris said.

A spokesperson for the Frisco Police Department told ABC News that Harris was pulled over for a routine stop and was issued a ticket.

“The driver was very cordial and very respectful. He handed his concealed carry license and let the Officer know that he did have weapon,” officer Benito Valdez said.

Two days ago, Funke Akindele took to Instagram to dispel reports that she clocked 40 on Aug. 24. She told her fans that she’s fabulously 39 and counting.

However, naija social media users seems to have carried the actress’ age matter on their head like metal bucket filled with water.

Funke who got married to boyfriend JJC Skillz at a private ceremony in London this week – is now enmeshed in an age controversy after conflicting reports emerged about her real age. The actress celebrated her birthday lowkey along with her musician lover and his family.

Explaining why entertainers tend to lie about their age, brand expert, Ikechukwu Orji said that corporate organizations are more disposed to associating with celebrities who are younger due to their youth segment appeal.

Two 41-year-old close friends had to break down in tears when being told they were switched at birth and spent their lives with each others biological family.

David Tait and Leon Swanson were swapped in the government-run Norway House Hospital in 1975 in the western Canadian province of Manitoba, DNA testing has confirmed.

‘I want answers so bad,’ Tait said, choking back tears at a press conference in Winnipeg on Friday.

He added that he felt ‘distraught, confused and angry.’

Swanson tried to hold back tears and said he did not know what to say.

Tait’s biological mother ended up raising Swanson instead, and Swanson’s birth mother raised Tait, CBC News reported.

In November, the Manitoba government said two other men who were close friends were also switched at birth in 1975, at the same Norway House Hospital. As they grew up, people noticed how they resembled each other’s family more than their own.

Eric Robinson, a former Manitoba cabinet minister who is helping the men in the latest case, said there were always suspicions in the community about their parentage.

The federal government owes these people,’ Robinson said.

‘What happened to them is criminal.
‘We can live with one mistake, but two mistakes of a similar nature is not acceptable.
‘We can’t slough it off as being a mistake. It was a criminal act.’

The former aboriginal affairs minister added he suspects there are more undiscovered cases.

Senator Stella Oduah, representing the Anambra North Senatorial District, on Friday tragically lost her son after a brief illness in a private hospital in Abuja.

Unconfirmed claim that the deceased, whose name had yet to be known as of the time of this post, was 28 and that he died in the early hours of Friday.

Oduah, who was a Minister of Aviation in the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, sounded distressed on the phone when Punch contacted her on Friday afternoon.

In a barely audible voice, she confirmed the report, saying her son died after a brief illness.

One of Oduah’s colleagues, Senator Uche Ekwunife, who represents Anambra Central in the Senate, also confirmed the incident to one of the publication’s correspondents, saying she had been with Oduah to console her just like few other senators who heard about the “unfortunate situation.”

Ekwunife said:

“It is very unfortunate. It has shown that death and life belong to God and it is only Him who controls our life. It is a trying moment for her and all of us. I know how it feels as a mother. It is only God who can console her.”

Photos: How a Woman Faked Pregnancy With Balloon So She Could Steal a Baby From a Hospital

A 21-year-old woman was caught with a balloon tucked in her clothes under the guise of being pregnant in order to steal a baby from a hospital.

The suspect identified as Purity Kiritu was admitted at Othaya District Hospital, Kenya on Wednesday, August 24th, at about 7:30 pm after pretending she was in labour.

After preparing a labour room for delivery, the nurses were shocked to find a red inflated balloon neatly tucked under her clothes.

The hospital authorities informed the local police who came to the hospital and arrested the woman. Purity reportedly travelled from Nairobi to Murang’a four days ago to stay with her mother-in-law Ms. Josephine Wairimu where she would deliver.

Other reports say that she was under pressure from her husband to give him a child. A police officer who spoke anonymously said the fake pregnancy was just a ploy to steal a baby from the hospital.

51-year-old Ogun State woman nabbed with 180 grammes of heroin.

Akinyemi Monsurat Olajumoke, who hails from Ogun State, was nabbed with four parcels of heroin, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, during inward screening of passengers on an Ethiopia Airlines flight from Entebbe, Uganda.

Narrating how she got involved in the act of drug pushing, 51-year-old Olajumoke said:

“I am a trader. I used to buy female clothes from India for sale. However, due to family problems and the economic situation, my capital is getting smaller and I wanted to expand my business. I was introduced into drug trafficking by a friend who invited me to Uganda.

“I invested my $3,000 into the deal in expectation of over 100%. I am sad that things did not go as planned. When the drug was discovered at the airport, I felt as if it was all over for me.”

However, if the court temporarily denies the application, the counsel would again rise in open court and passionately plead with the trial judge to allow his client remain in EFCC holding facility, pending the determination of bail, or, where his application was granted, pending fulfilment of bail conditions.

Notwithstanding this, some people with ulterior motives have continuously sponsored false stories likening detention in EFCC facilities to being held in dungeons where torture and other forms of human rights abuses are commonplace.

The Commission however prides itself as meeting the highest possible professional standards in all its operations. Such unprofessional practices are not only outlawed in EFCC, they are regarded as criminal and anyone who engages in them, risks severe sanctions, including administrative reprimand and criminal prosecution.

Believe it or not but that’s a utility worker you see in the photo above – he is Jimmie Cox, 23 year old, and was working on a water pipe that busted near the Dallas home of one Andrea Adams.

Andrea, saw what she described as unbelievable when Cox had nearly his entire torso in the 5-and-a-half foot deep pool, trying to close the burst pipe.

Adams, in disbelief, wanted to capture the moment.

“Do you mind if I take your picture, because my husband is never going to believe this,” she said.”

Cox gave her the OK, and once Adams posted the photo to Facebook, she was flooded with comments. But the photo has its drawbacks for Adams.

“I’ve shut down my Facebook, turned off my email,” Adams said. “I had a call from a lawyer in Atlanta that wanted to use the photo.”

Cox has received comments and messages on Facebook about the photo, but he said that despite the photo going viral, it’s not unusual for his job.

“In this line of work, people do it a lot,” he said.

The Police in Enugu State, Friday, confirmed the arrest of one the suspected masterminds of an attack on Attakwu community. It should be recalled that suspected Fulani herdsmen had carried out an early morning attack on the Enugu West community, leading to the death of a seminarian, Mr. Lawrence Nwafor.

Four others, including a pregnant woman, whose intestine was ripped off, are still battling for survival.

However, in a statement issued by the Enugu State Police command’s spokesman, SP Ebere Amaraizu, he said one of the suspects had been apprehended.

According to him, the

“Nigeria police force in its resolve towards unmasking those behind the dastardly act perpetrated at Ndiagu Attakwu community of Akegbeugwu in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu state in the early hours of 25/8/16, which left one person dead and four others critically injured, have nabbed a suspect identified as one Umaru Isah from Gusau Zamfara State over his alleged involvement in the incident.

“His arrest came through intelligence information gathered. The said suspect, who claimed that he is 20 years old, revealed that he came in from Gusau Zamfara State to Enugu recently for the purposes of rearing cattle, but has none to rear till now.

“Investigations have commenced in full scale into his nefarious activities with a view to unmasking his gang members so that they can be brought to book.

“The state commissioner of police Emmanuel Ojukwu has vowed to unmask all those involved in the dastardly act and bring them to book.”

So a thieving triumvirate had one of their members, a lady openly disgraced after she was caught picking somebody’s pocket in a busy Kenya Commercial Bank banking hall, on Thursday.

The social media user who shared the disgraceful incident, disclosed that after she was caught, the management of the bank, paraded the woman identified as Nancy Wawira Muthoni, across other banks in the town with a neck tag boldly written “I am thief. Mimi ni mwizi.”

In 2010, Alexandra Worthington, 18, was a playing game of ‘igniting alcohol’ with her 14 and 16-year-old relatives when an explosion occurred and she was engulfed in a “hot, orange light”. Her face and eyelids “melted off” and her hair was burnt.

She had over 20 surgeries including skin grafts and the skin- and some flesh- was sourced from dead bodies. After the explosion, she went into a coma at the hospital and woke up days later with a tube down her throat.

The doctors gave her weeks to naturally recover before they brought her out of the coma and explain what had happened to her body.

Mirror UK reports that she has undergone more than 20 operations including skin grafts on her elbows, legs, thighs, back, arms and stomach- all replaced using skin and flesh from her legs of from dead bodies.

“I have no idea who the donor is because I just woke up and it as on me. At first it was weird because I had different skin tones but my body did not reject it and I stopped thinking about it unless someone asked,” said Worthington who is now a burns counsellor.

She admitted to gotten depressed and entertaining suicide thoughts because her neighbors would point at her and laugh as well as personally feeling like a monster.

“I’m in a good place now. I still feel self conscious but I think of my scars as interesting than hideous. I use my experience to counsell other burns survivors because I was a stupid kid being bad when I got burned,” added Worthington.

A LinkedIn post by a career counsellor has gone viral after it advised women applying for jobs to leave their engagement rings at home when they go for a job interview.

Bruce Hurwitz stated that women should ditch their engagements rings because male interviewers will “assume you are high maintenance” and a woman will feel threatened by the size of your ring.

According to him:

“When a man sees that ring he immediately assumes you are high maintenance. When the woman at the office who has the largest diamond on her finger, sees that ring, she will realize that if you are hired she will fall to second place and will, therefore, not like you. Lose the ring!”

One woman apparently had emailed Hurwitz to tell him his advice had worked.

“She told me that the only thing she did differently at her last job interview, which resulted in the job offer, was not to wear the ring,” he writes.
“So lose the rock! And, if you don’t have one, but got engaged by signing a pre-nup, find a way to let male interviewers know that. They’ll respect you. (Women may as well, but I’m not certain that this is the case.)”

Despotic leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un is set to punish his country’s Olympians who failed to meet his Rio Olympics medal target.

Kim Jong-un warned his country’s athletes to return with at least 5 gold medals and 12 other medals prior to the Games, or risk being sent to work in the coal mines.

But after the North Koreans limped back to Pyongyang with just seven medals, including two golds, its athletes could face the wrath of chubby despot Kim.

The Asian country could only manage two gold and four other medals and are awaiting their fate from the country’s number one citizen.

Expert on the secretive nation, Toshimitsu Shigemura, said:

“Those who won medals will be rewarded with better housing allocations, better rations, a car and maybe other gifts from the regime.

“But Kim is going to be angry and disappointed at these results.

“Those he feels have let him down are likely to be punished by being moved to poorer quality housing, having their rations reduced and, in the worst-case scenario, being sent to the coal mines as punishment.”

Another reason for getting punished by Kim is that they fraternized with bitter rivals South Korea who went home with 21 medals, including nine golds.

After leading the Nigerian U-23 Dream team to win Bronze in the just concluded Olympic games, coach of the team, Samson Siasia has explained how the money given to them by Japanese Plastic surgeon and billionaire Katsuya Takasu was shared.

The doctor had given the team $390,000 to share for winning the bronze medal, Nigeria’s only medal, at the Olympics.

Siasia also criticized the Nigerian Football Federation for their objections to the money gifted to the team saying that the investigations called for by the top dogs in the federation were unnecessary.

“What actually happened is that the man was just curious how a team that was neglected and abandoned could arrive Rio under five hours and defeat the Japanese team that had all they needed and have been put together for over three years, that was his amazement.” Siasia said explaining what transpired.

He continued,

“These guys who are saying they want to do all manner of checks, what have they done for us? Do you know that since we returned, nobody from the NFF or Ministry has called us to say that we did well. The president came and just talked and that was it, well it is not the first time he will be talking.

“When players don’t even have $100 dollars in their pocket and you want to come and preach to them.” Siasia said the entire amount of $390,000 was shared equally among all the members of the team including the supporting staff.

“The Japanese benefactor said $200,000 and $190,000 was supposed to be for bronze medal and it was split among the players and officials equally. It is not my personal money and this must be made clear.

“What I got was what every other player of official in the team got about $14,000 dollars each. The man came to Salvador where we played and gave $200,000 as draft to me and $190,000 to Mikel because he cannot write cheque to every member of the team, he made it simpler so that we all can share the money and now we are paying to the individual accounts of the boys.

“So make this issue clear to everybody that has been following it, the money was never meant for me or Mikel alone but for the entire team including the doctors and other backroom staff”.
