Zimbabwean President, Robert Mugabe has instructed the Commissioner General of Zimbabwe Police Republic, Augustine Chihuri to arrest and detain the whole Zimbabwean Olympic Team members immediately the arrive at the Harare International Airport on Tuesday, August 23.
Zimbabwe which is one of the countries in the Olympics without a medal presented a team of 31 athletes. The closest any of the athletes came to win a contest was at the 8th position.
Mr. Mugabe who is incensed with the team’s performance told the Police Chief to arrest all the team members and detain them.
“We have wasted the country’s money on these rats we call athletes. If you are not ready to sacrifice and win even copper or brass medals (referring the 4th and 5th positions) as our neighbors Botswana did, then why do you go to waste our money” he said.

A rap star has been detained in Malaysia on blasphemy charges after allegedly insulting Islam in his latest music video.
Namewee, whose real name is Wee Meng Chee, was arrested at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport where he was returning from overseas, the Bernama agency said.
The word ‘Allah’ and sounds of the Islamic call to prayer were said to be used in the four-minute Mandarin music video, titled ‘Oh My God.’
The video, ‘Oh My God,’ was released in July and featured three other singers rapping in Mandarin in front of various places of worship and using the word Allah Enraged Malay Islamic activists lodged police complaints against Wee, saying the video was rude and disrespectful to Islam but the singer has defended himself by stating that what he was saying in the video was meant to promote religious harmony.

About two weeks ago, August 4th to be precise, a woman delivered a set of quadruplets, 3 boys and one girl, at the 64th Annual Convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God held at the Redemption Camp, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Ogun State.
It was the first time in the history of the convention that a woman would give birth to quadruplets.
In celebration of their birth, wife of the General Overseer of the Church, Pastor Mrs Folu Adeboye has taken up full responsibility for the children. She has also provided a well-furnished two (2) bedroom flat in one of the estates on the Redemption Camp while plans are in place to secure a good job for the children’s father.
A total of 67 children were born same Thursday, 40 are boys while 27 are girls. Pastor Enoch Adeboye describe the birth as unique.
“For the first time in the history of our conventions and our maternity centre, a woman gave birth to four babies,” he said.

In an official statement issued late yesterday by the President’s special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, the United States (US) secretary of state, John Kerry, has assured President Muhammadu Buhari of his country’s support because the president ‘inherited a big problem‘.
Speaking at the presidential villa in Abuja during secretary of State’s visit to the country on Tuesday, Kerry commended the courage of President Buhari in fighting corruption, saying:
“We applaud what you are doing. Corruption creates a ready-made playing field for recruiting extremists. You inherited a big problem, and we will support you in any way we can. We will work with you very closely. We don’t want to interfere, but will offer opportunities as you require.”
“Nigeria is priority for us. We won’t miss the opportunity to work together, because you are making significant progress,” Kerry said.
Head of states, President Muhammadu Buhari on his remarks, pledged that the anti-corruption crusade in the country will be deepened and institutionalized to last beyond the life of the current administration.
“We will insist on the standards we’re establishing. We are laying down administrative and financial instructions in the public service that must be obeyed. Any breach will no longer be acceptable.
“We will retrain our staff, so that they understand the new orientation. And those who run foul of these rules will be prosecuted, no matter who is involved. But we will be fair, just and act according to the rule of law. Anyone perceived corrupt is innocent till we can prove it. We will work very hard to establish documentation for successful prosecution, and those in positions of trust will sit up.”
Buhari further showed gratitude on the intervention of the U.S before the 2015 polls, demanding free and fair elections in Nigeria, saying,
“America did not do it because of what it stands to benefit from us. You did it for the Nigerian people. It tells so much what the U.S stands for in the world.”
Speaking on the Boko Haram sect, the President thanked the U.S for both hard and soft military help.
“The training and intelligence that we could not muster ourselves, we received. The training has made Boko Haram less of a threat to Nigeria and the Lake Chad Basin region, while the military hardware has given our troops added confidence.”
The Ugandan woman seen in the photo above was employed as house-help but out of greed and covet, she wanted to make extra illegal dough by kidnapping her boss’s little 2-year-old girl and disappearing for two weeks, but her criminal story has been curbed as she has been arrested.
The Kenyans reports that Jessica Nawire was nabbed at the Busia border with Baby Kaity Amanda, by police officers acting on a tip-off from a stranger.
Nawire was then taken to the Busia Police station where she was locked up as the baby’s parents were being sought to come and pick their child.
The house-help however said she fled with the baby because she had not been paid her three-month salary. Baby Amanda remained with her uncle Maurice Ochieng at the station, as her parents travelled to the border town to reunite with her.
Mr Ochieng said that he was in Uganda following a lead before he was informed of the arrest by Ugandan police.
“I was in Nayemba following a lead when police contacted me at around 2pm,” Ochieng was quoted by a local daily.

According to the court, the convict was found guilty of offences of rape and assault, leveled against him for having canal knowledge of the lady, whom he had known for 10 years. The incident, according to the prosecution, occurred last week in a hotel in Yaba area of Lagos.
The defendant was said to have lured the lady to the hotel after getting her drunk at a party and stripped her Unclad, recorded her nude and threatened to release the video on social media if she refused to have sex with him.
Apart from these, he was said to have also soaked her cloth after the incident, while he returned the wet clothes and kept the panties in a bag. He, thereafter, escorted her to her mummy’s shop around 10p.m.
On sighting her daughter, according to the evidence before the court, her mother was curious, but the victim told the court that out of fear she lied that she had a scuffle with her friends at the party.
However, her mother, who was not convinced, put pressure on her, after which she narrated the incident to the mother. But the convict, knowing the game was up, took to his heels and was apprehended by neighbours.
The convict, it was gathered, threw the bag containing the victim’s bag, panties and the phone which he used to record her nudity to the girl.

Deborah Faleke, the young girl electrocuted at Fagbenro Street, Alakuko, Lagos State on May 21, two weeks after she finished writing her WASCE examination, had two distinctions and six credits in the just-released results.
Pastor Ademola Faleke, her father, disclosed yesterday that Deborah’s result was one of the best in her school.
He said: “Deborah had two distinctions and six credits out of the nine subjects she sat for in the 2016 May/June WASCE: C6, Economics; B3, Geography; C5, Civil Education, and C4 in English Language. “She also had C4 in Mathematics; B3, in Chemistry; E8, Biology; C6, Physics and F9 in Marketing.” ‘
The pastor, moved to tears while reeling out the result, said Deborah had desired to study Bio-Chemistry in one of the private universities in Ogun State before her death.
He said: “My daughter was the Senior Girl and President of the school Jet’s Club and the Secretary of its Literary and Debating Society. “I had promised her that I would do everything within my power to ensure that she achieved her education goals, but the will of God must prevail.”
Deborah had gone to stay with her cousin, Bukola Ogunbanjo, when the incident that led to her untimely death happened.
