Heartbreaking Story: Lady Narrates How Her 3 year Old baby Sister Was Raped To Death by a 22 year old man in Lagos

fullstory

Read The Story Below as shared and narrated by Facebook User, Blessing Nwachukwu.

So many people have wondered who my immediate second sister was. Even friends never met her or saw a pic of her. When she passed away, my mom was so distraught that she burnt all pics and saved only this. Take a good look at this sweet and innocent face. Her name was Grace Chikere Nwosu and she was my sister.

I’m about to tell a story that hasn’t been told since 1994 not to gain sympathy but to advice and change lives. She never got to grow to leave a mark but I hope with this story, she does. I want her to be the face of children’s advocate cos she deserved at least that since her life was cut short at the age of 3 by a 22 year old man named Daniel whom I have never set my eyes on since 1994.

This story is the reason I went into talk show- not for personal fame but hope that one I will be famous enough to get people to hear my story but I can’t keep waiting so if this will save lives, then so be it.

If you know from my stories, we grew up in the slum of Mafoluku, Oshodi. Then when I turned six, my sister was three and my mom went to the hospital to give birth to a third child. Despite being poor, we were a very loving family and my parents still made sure we attended private schools but starved and drank Garri like for real not a metaphor. My mom used to say, education will change our condition.

This story isn’t about me today so I will skip the details of my past. Perhaps someday I will have the courage to tell my own story. So my mom had this house help whose name was Chidinma, she also went to school but lived with us to take care of us after school hours. My mom was a kind soul who took her like her own but Chidinma was blinded by greed. So on that fateful period, my mom went to the hospital with my dad and aunt for some days, Chidinma sold my 3 year old sister for 150 naira to my neighbor, Daniel… I was 6 and had no clue why my sister wasn’t home.

Little did I know that right in our face-me-I face you compound, Daniel RAPED my three year old sister till she bled. They returned her to our home to cover the act but my mom came home that day with my aunt and saw my sister bleeding and unable to move. My kid sister proceeded to give names then fell unconscious… Needless to say, she died after a week. She died on a Friday right in my mom’s arms and in my presence.

My mom dropped the court case and had us move. I never understood why but she said God would enact justice but I wanted court justice. I wanted Daniel to pay for his actions. Pay for robbing the life and innocence of my kid sister. I didn’t get that justice but had to live with that pain for so many years before I learned to forgive.

I put up her pic cos she’s late. The media doesn’t put up pic of rape kids cos they are underage and this perpetrators don’t get to realize what they did emotionally. I don’t know where Daniel is but I hope he sees this and remembers and apologizes to my family cos he not only ruined my sister but my trust in men when I was growing up. Made me live a life in fear of men until my dad, counselor and pastors gave me courage. She’s late since 1994 and she would have been 25.

She was lively and smart and even at three, had more guts than me and always defended me. I have never forgotten anything about her. I loved her and I lost her before we could spend our best years together. Dear rapists, these children are just kids. Helpless, selfless and defenseless. We are to defend them not ruin them. What is sexually attractive about a child? They don’t even have developed sexual organs except for peeing. Parents, be careful of who you entrust your child to. The world is dark. Anything is possible.

In five minutes, a rapist can change the life of their victim and loved ones. Just for five minutes pleasure, you ruin the lives of others. Control your five minutes urge. Sex with a child is without consent cos they are ignorant of life. A child can never seduce you. Please let’s fight for the lives of children. Let’s be Guardians all over the world and weed out perpetrators wherever. Never cover them up in fear of shame.

I put up this pic cos I’m the only legal in age survivor of my family. She’s late now for 22 years so I’m within my law. I wish her rest with the lord. Chikere Grace, mommy, daddy and our brother are with you now. You aren’t alone anymore. May all their souls rest in peace and may my sister’s name be remembered in honor of the lives she will save with her story. Love you all my late family, xoxo.

MFM Denies Nigerians Arrested For Drug Trafficking in Cambodia

mfm

Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Church, popularly called MFM, has denied that eight Nigerians arrested by Cambodian authorities for alleged drug trafficking are its members.

Eight Nigerians were on Tuesday arraigned in Cambodia for allegedly using the MFM premises to deal in illicit drugs.

The accused were: Nnamezie Victor, 30; Francis Nnamdi, 30; Sunday Nwabuisi, 31; Tony Mmaduka Chukwuonye, 34; Okorom Kizito, 35; Favour Nnabuife Okorom, 36; Maduka Simon Ukandu, 37; and Izuchukwu Chukwuma, 40.

Also charged along with them is a Cambodian, Mon Vinyong, 25.

They may face life imprisonment if found guilty by the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, in a case that began in January last year. A verdict is expected in September following a final trial last week.

Reacting to the claim that the Cambodian branch of the church was used to trade in drugs, Chairman of MFM Media Committee Worldwide, Oladele Bank-Olemoh, told SUNDAY PUNCH that the accused were not members of the church.

He said linking the accused to the church was an attempt to drag the name of the church through the mud.

“The MFM church is not shut down. Our pastor is there and he’s busy in the ministry. Those arrested are not members of the church. They are neither our missionaries nor workers in the church. The MFM church is the only African church in Cambodia that many black people attend.

“You know the country is a Muslim country. This could be a vendetta against the church. This case (of alleged drug trafficking) happened in 2014. The church was searched and nothing was found, though arrests were made outside the church. We employed a lawyer to prove the church’s innocence,” Bank-Olemoh said.

According to The Cambodia Daily, during the hearing, Vinyong claimed that she received mobile phone boxes from Chukwuonye in 2014 but did not know the boxes were filled with drugs.

The Cambodian publication noted that the eight Nigerians “operated out of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Church in Meanchey district in 2014 and early 2015.”

The court heard that the pair became friends after meeting at the church.

“At the end of October and early November, I delivered the goods two or three times, and in December I delivered them one more time,” she said, adding that she was paid $100 per day for acting as a courier.

A Japanese Business Mogul To Reward Nigerian Players At #RIO2016 – See How Much

Dream-Team-1-696x392

Nigeria U23 team, the Dream Team VI, have, from an unlikely source, been given extra incentive to triumph at this summer’s Olympics in Rio where they’re set to take on Denmark in the quarterfinals.

The Samson Siasia-led lads wont only become national heroes should they repeat the feat of 1996 where the original Dream Team stunned the world to claim gold at the Atlanta games, they’ll also come into sizeable fortune as a benefactor has promised a bonus of $30,000 to each player should they clinch gold in Brazil.

World renowned Japanese plastic surgeon Katsuya Takasu made known his desire to reward the team after hearing about their financial plight, adding a further $20,000 for silver and $10,000 for bronze.

“I read about the financial problems affecting the team and I felt the need to make a big contribution,” Takasu told BBC Sport.

“I am not doing this for media attention but to motivate a team with an indomitable spirit. I fell in love with the Nigerian team because despite all these problems they are in the quarter-finals of the Olympics.

“Whether they win or not, I will still donate something to help alleviate the challenges in paying their bonuses and allowances.”

While the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) appreciated the gesture:

“I have been in direct contact with Mr Takasu and impressed by his gesture,” NFF vice-president Seyi Akinwunmi told BBC Sport.

“But we need not get carried away because the integrity of the country is at stake.

“First we must check about this. Significantly, the team has an important game and we need to focus on that.”

It’s been a rough ride to Rio for the Nigerian team, arriving for their opening game barely hours to kickoff, and missing a number of training days over pay disputes.

In spite of the challenges, they remain in the competition and are hours away from a semifinal appearance.

A social media user has shared a quite shocking encounter of how his Neighbor was traced and kidnapped after she updated her work Details on her Facebook Profile.

Read below:

If you handle much cash and you are on Facebook, please never include where you work on your profile.

My neighbour was kidnapped in Port Harcourt by unknown gun men. She was taken to an undisclosed location near Eleme and they demanded 100 million naira before she is released.

My neighbour is the Head of accounts/Treasurer in a particularly big Church here in port Harcourt.
When the kidnappers demanded 100 million naira, the pastor spoke with them and they reduced it to 9 million. As fate may have it, the pastor informed the police who cooked up a plan and asked the Church to drop the money as directed.

The Church and police worked hand in hand and the money was taken to their preferred location before the police arrested 2 of the gang leaders.

Upon investigation, one of them said he knew the girl from Facebook and saw her work details before she was traced and kidnapped.
She has been found and the police is searching for other gang members.

Please mind what you post on social media. Don’t post money, talk about money or your location in public. My neighbour was not killed; but she was seriously beaten.

No! Can you really imagine?! How can you be such an insensitive person, seeing that someone is at the brink of death and you’re still asking him questions he could be asked if he stays alive?!

Footage of the exchange has emerged online showing the man lying on the ground clearly in pain after the alleged incident in El Salvador.

It also shows the a truck and its shattered windscreen at the side of the road after the supposed collision.

The camera then pans around back to the man lying on the ground topless, appearing to writhe around and groan in discomfort.

But rather than kneel down to help the man, the reporter from TVO Noticias shoves a microphone in his face as he mumbles: ‘They hit me and I’m hurting.’

The reporter then starts asking him a barrage of questions saying: ‘Didn’t you see the vehicle?’

He then manages to answer saying: ‘No.’

mumu reporter2

The woman then asks him: ‘Would you want to be taken to a hospital?‘ But the man is unable to speak through the pain and all he can do is is make an inaudible noise.

However, the reporter doesn’t stop there and asks another question saying: ‘Where were you going anyways?’

To which he replies: ‘The hospital‘.

“I Used To Be a Mobile Cobbler” – Actor, Sanyeri Reveals

sanyeri-playground-tv

Yoruba actor, Sanyeri, is serving motivation to his fans after revealing that he was once a shoe maker before he got the opportunity to become a star.

The actor, who stated this in an interview with Punch News, said he found it difficult to make a living after finishing secondary school, due to this, he resorted to learning how to become a cobbler.

His participation in acting in Oyo State did not give him the sort of reward he anticipated. Even after relocating to Lagos, his situation remained the same.

“The suffering I endured was really extreme. After I finished my secondary school education, I did not have a job so I delved into the theatre world. I did it for some time but I was not being paid even when I went everywhere with the group and was helping them carry their costume.”

“I had to learn how to repair shoes so I became a shoe cobbler. Eventually, I left Oyo town and came to Lagos to find greener pastures but still I was not earning anything from acting.”

“I became a mobile cobbler. I would put my materials in a wooden box, place it on my shoulder and start hitting it as I walked the length and breadth of Idumota.”

“I would constantly hit my wooden box as I walked about to call the attention of people. Then nobody knew me so I kept hitting my box all over Idumota.”

“I remember I had a handkerchief I used to cover my face because of my tribal marks.”

“The reason I concealed my tribal marks was because the Igbo boys at Idumota had the belief that if they did not give their shoes to a Ghanaian cobbler, no one could do a better job.”

“If they saw my tribal marks, they would think I was one of the touts that would normally come to disturb them for money for shop and they would not give me their shoes to repair.”

“When I saw that being a shoe cobbler was affecting my career as an actor, I had to quit and face acting squarely. I thank God that good fortunes have come my way.”

The commander said that Adamu conspired with a yet-to-be-identified individual in Ilorin to carry out the act. “Investigation is in process aimed at arresting the accomplice,” adding that the agency was a alerting the public on the fake money in circulation.

“We just want to alert the public to be aware of such fake money because if this amount of money is allowed to be injected into the economy, it is very bad.

“A lay man can hardly identify that they are fake currency. These days we even have cases of people collecting money from ATM and still find fake currency in them,” he added.

The suspect, who spoke to newsmen in Hausa language, admitted that the fake currency was found on him.

“Tiwa Savage’s Revelations About Tee Billz Totally Crushed Him” – Basketmouth Says

Tiwa-Tee-Billz

Speaking during a Hip TV chat show, ‘The Gist with Ugolee’, late on Saturday night, popular Nigerian stand-up comedian, Bright Okpocha, a.k.a Basketmouth, believes Mavin Records singer, Tiwa Savage, and her estranged husband, Tee Billz, did immense damage to their marriage as a result of their public revelations on social media.

It was widely reported when the couple’s marriage hit the rocks after Tee Billz took to social media to accuse his wife of being a serial adulterer and reportedly tried to commit suicide. While Tiwa responded by holding a no holds barred interview, where she made startling allegations about her husband.

Basketmouth in the TV show last night, affirmed that the couple as well as many others tend to divulge too much personal information on the internet.

“To a large extent, I think there are a lot of people abusing the use of social media, I am sorry. Most of us artistes realizing that we have I, 2, 3 or 4 million people following us and you know that when you say something, a lot of people are going to react.

“It is like drug; you can’t contain yourself and start saying some crap. You are like a god having a lot of followers, whatever you tell them to do, they do.

“I am okay with people who go on social media to rant but I am against those who have turned it into a church to settle family issues. Normally, if you have a marital problem, you call your wife one on one. If you cannot contain it, you call in the parents. That’s how I saw it when I was growing up which is the culture I have embraced.

“That kind of situation shouldn’t be taken to social media and let people who have never been married, have no idea about what marriage is all about, say stuff about your marriage.

“There are a lot of people with mental problem who have phone and data, you then give them the access to talk trash about your personal life.

“In Teebillz situation, the way he spoke on social media really appeared as though he was going to commit suicide and said horrible things to his father.

“Those words were words you say and just die, but now that he is still alive, how would he face his father? It would have been better if he had just written a letter to the man instead of putting it online. Unfortunately again, he went to blast his wife and his wife’s mother. These are things that shouldn’t be put online.

“Another thing is that Tiwa has a larger following than Teebillz, after Tiwa blasted him, it was extreme and it crushed him. He had no comeback; there is no comeback to things like that.”

Omoni Oboli Shares Testimony Of How God Came Through For Her Son’s Breast Lump.

omoni oboli fam

Actress Omoni Oboli and her family believed it is ‘God over all’ when her son spotted a growth in his breast – rather than hassling to the hospital for treatment and all, the actress and her family left it all for God.

She said:

“Some time ago, we discovered a lump in Gozi’s breast. I wasn’t comfortable so we kept praying about it,” “We took communion and we just kept praying,” she said, adding, “He was always complaining about feeling weak and he would always take naps.” It seems like their faith worked, because the lump disappeared without needing medical attention.
“God has healed Gozi, lump is gone and he’s more energized than he’s ever been,” the excited mother captioned the video of Gozi playing basketball. “He’s running everyday, practicing his basketball for hours!” She said.

Her full story below:

Apparently, Omoni Oboli and her family did not consider going for a diagnosis to confirm if the lump was benign.Watch out LeBron James, Gozi is coming for ya! ??⛹? I have a testimony! I told God I will testify in church if he did it but I never did so here’s me testifying to the whole world! Some time ago, we discovered a lump in Gozi’s breast. “Man’s Inhumanity To Man at RCCG” – Ex Pastor Writes Open Letter to Pastor Adeboye, Reveals Shocking Details

Pastor-E.-Adeboye-600x400

In a shocking open letter, a 55-year old Bayo Akinjiyan, who rose to become an Assistant Provincial Pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) of the Lagos Province 25, has decried what he described as “man’s inhumanity to man and the travesty of justice” by the church he served “meritoriously.”

According to reports, the former pastor who voluntarily resigned from the church in 2013, said he could not comprehend why an organisation he was once a part of for 23 years would treat him with “human indignity” and refuse to pay him his due.

He stated that upon his exit from the church, he had to vacate a N15m house he personally built on Plot 15, Diligence Road, Redemption Camp, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, which is in line with the policy of the church that a non-member has no right to own any building at the camp.

DailyPost reported that Akinjiyan however expressed discomfort that after handing over the property, its receipt has yet to be acknowledged by the authorities of the church, listing another grievance as an alleged unpaid consultancy fees amounting to over N2m on projects designed, supervised and or managed by him since 2012.

Akinjiyan said he had exploited all available avenue to express his grievances to the church, including writing private letters to the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, but after waiting for over two years without action on issues he complained about, he resorted to penning the open letter to the leader of the church.

The letter reads;

“First, I want to address the attitude and response of the authorities and leadership of the Redeemed Christian Church of God over the house on Plot 15, Diligence Road, Redemption Camp Estate, Redemption Camp, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway that I handed over to them upon my voluntary exit from the church after 23 years of meritorious service and having risen to the position of assistant provincial pastor.

“This was contained in my letter of resignation, dated November 3, 2013. That I gave my best in this adventure was alluded to by the church in the letter of release, dated March 11, 2014, which states inter alia, ‘…We wish to appreciate you for your contributions to this ministry and we pray that God will reward and support you in your future endeavours…’

“Secondly, the attitude and response of the Board of Governors of Christ the Redeemers College, Sagamu, Ogun State Nigeria — a private secondary school operated by Christ the Redeemer’s Ministries, an affiliate of RCCG, over an unpaid consultancy fees on projects designed, supervised and or managed by me since 2012.

“I know the implications of my actions and having fully weighed my options, I hereby accept full responsibilities for my actions. My decision to inform the Christian community and the larger society is not aimed at destroying or tarnishing the image of anyone or maligning the church that once gave me fire, but rather, it is aimed at putting records straight, and satisfying my God and my conscience. I have prayed over this matter, consulted those that I needed to, and I’ve come to the conclusion that God is on the side of those who have a right standing with Him.

“Let us address the first issue — the house at Redemption Camp. In line with the policy of the RCCG mission on those who build on its land, the keys to the house on the above mentioned location, which is a five-bedroom house (all en-suite), valued by a firm of chartered estate surveyors at N15.5m as of December 5, 2011, were submitted to the church through my letter to the General Overseer, dated March 4, 2014 upon my voluntary exit.

“Reminders were also sent through four other letters dated September 2, 2015, January 2, 2016, March 10, 2016, and June 27, 2016. Of all these letters and reminders, the only response I had was a letter dated October 9, 2015, acknowledging the letter of September 2, stating as follows, ‘…We wish to inform you that the issues raised in your letter have been referred to concerned officials for their comments and response. We shall get back to you as we receive feedback and further directives from the mission authority.

“Almost a year down the line, I am still waiting. My request was that the church should at least officially acknowledge the receipt of the house, even if there is no form of compensation. The God who built that for me can always give me a better one. This is my belief. The need to acknowledge the takeover of the house becomes necessary for at least two reasons: first, when I get to heaven (and by the grace of God I will make it), there will be an official and authentic record from RCCG in my favour, of the house that was forfeited to her as a result of doing the will of the Master here on earth.

“Secondly, it is to my knowledge that properties said to belong to the leadership of the church or that of the RCCG Mission sometimes allegedly, carelessly and surreptitiously fall into wrong hands. In view of this development, the question is: Is Pastor Adeboye even aware of this house in question of having been handed over to RCCG? If yes, has he given an instruction for my request to be granted? If yes, what is delaying his instruction from being carried out almost a year after? If no action has been taken with all these efforts of mine, what is the reason for this?”

Akinjiyan’s second grievance is the non-payment of N2,140,604.66 consultancy fee on projects designed, supervised and managed by him since 2012 at Christ the Redeemers College, the secondary school of the church.

He wrote, “I was appointed by the governing board of the above-named college for the purpose of overseeing the projects on a week-by-week basis at a meeting held by the Board on November 28, 2009. My duties and responsibilities were diligently carried out to the letter. When I wrote to the college for payment thereafter, no response was given. I wrote a reminder after two years, the college refused to collect the letter for reasons best known to the official at their reception desk. I thereafter sent it to the General Overseer on March 10, 2016. A reminder was sent in June 2016 and also a personal copy to Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye, the wife of the G.O., who is a major stakeholder of the college.

“For all these to have happened in a church I diligently served for 23 years is questionable in my opinion. I have yet to find out why I should be so treated in this manner even after I had followed due process to secure my release. Please also note that it took the church over two years to organise a send-off in my honour and this was after I wrote the G.O. about it. It took the church over two years and after two separate letters of reminder, to pay royalty on over 30 of my published books in the church bookshops. This also happened after I wrote to the G.O. about it.

“Would it be right then to say that perhaps all these are personal vendetta coming from those on whose toes I stepped on while I served through my insistence that right things must be done and I am now being made to pay for my uncompromising stance on corruptive tendencies within the spheres I served and particularly at the college?

“I believe that for our nation to be great again, all hands must be on deck. Religious leaders have a crucial role to play beyond praying for the nation. They need to also teach their members and warn against the evil of corruption, expose its tendencies within the system. Then and only then can our nation be sanitised and become great again. The government alone cannot fight and win this humongous battle against corruption.

“One thing is for sure: for the leadership of the RCCG to keep ignoring me and all the letters I’ve sent across to it for its own best known reasons would be cutting off its nose to spite its face. I know so much more than anyone could think of and I counsel that they should just let sleeping dogs lie. If this situation persists in the next couple of days, one may be compelled to press for full redress on these issues. I am using this opportunity to call on all those who believe in the course of justice within the church and outside of it to please assist me in this cause. I’m calling on human rights groups and civil society organisations and others to please strengthen my arm through the law if need be.

“I also call on the irrepressible media, both print and electronic in Nigeria and in the international community, to conduct investigative journalism and prove me wrong in any of my assertions. A young lawyer friend has provided me legal services so far and has written the appropriate bodies on these issues. I pray the church authority will act fast on this, but if they think otherwise, I am fully prepared for the days ahead. I also know that this journey may be long, lonely and dreary. The wheel of justice may grind slowly, but with God on my side, there is a glorious light at end of the tunnel.

“To the Christian community and friends, I demand your prayers at this time. I know some ‘brethren’ will vilify me, abuse and harass me, take me through scriptures on how to resolve church conflicts (I’ve explored all these) or how not to touch ‘mine anointed.’ I know some would call me names, raise non-existing scandalous issues that have not surfaced since I left over three years ago. I know I could be under threat of attack or be monitored. I am not bothered.

“What is not worth dying for is not worth living for. Some might ask: You want to destroy a house you helped in building or once lived in? My answer is ‘no’. It is to prevent the house from collapsing on its present occupants that is my concern. Some might ask why fight over mundane issues such as house or money and just N2.1m? My answer is ‘no’. I have been involved in projects for the church to the extent that that if I were to collect consultancy fees, it would have run into over tens of millions of naira, but yet I executed some of these projects with my colleagues in the building industry for next to nothing.

“I am not a gold digger nor do I seek to reap where I did not sow. I belong to the Joshua generation and this error of treating with indignity people who follow due process in resigning from the church must stop. I have suffered in the hands of vipers, vultures, lions, crocodiles, pharaohs and goliaths in the church system over the years, I’ve suffered with Christ through obedience to His will. I’ve gone through and still going through ‘indignity’ of living in a rented accommodation, after building a decent house and living in it just because of doing God’s will. I’ve had my own portion of the vicissitudes of life.

“I have a different spirit and have followed the Lord fully. Having been given positions of trust and responsibilities and never abused any, I rejoice and see all these as part of the faith package of my redemption through Christ Jesus and in all of these. I’m more than a conqueror. I have no regret of any decisions taken in the past, I have no better yesterday yet, I’m a believer in a glorious tomorrow. I have coveted no man’s silver or gold; I’ve never stolen church funds or church members.

“Unconfirmed reports indicate how people who left the Redemption Camp sold their houses through illegal transfers without the mission batting an eyelid. I decided to do the right thing and must I suffer for it? While I do not claim to be perfect, just as no one is, I contend daily for the faith that was once delivered unto the saints. I am not intimidated and can never be. I serve the living God, the God of faithfulness and without injustice, good and upright is He. A word, they say, is enough for the wise and those who live in glass houses do not throw stones.”

“When I Was 13, I Weighed 90kg” – Lady Shares Very Inspiring And Emotional Weight Loss Story.

weight loss

On a motivational page on Instagram, called Myunfilteredng where individuals send in their inspiring, tragic, honest and what have you stories, this lady in the photo above shared hers which is quite emotional and inspiring at the same time.

What she said below:

I started gaining weight at a very fast pace at the age of 11. By the time I was 13 years’ old, I weighed 90kg.

By the age of 16, I weighed 100kg and was a size 18.

I was a 5’7” teen, becoming more aware of my self-image and how people viewed me. I had low self-worth and low self-esteem. I couldn’t wear the clothes that I liked. I hated myself. I remember going to a wedding with my mum and I didn’t want to take pictures with her.

She asked me what was wrong and I told her I was ugly. She was almost crying and asked what I meant by that. By the time I got to university, I went up to 130kg in just 3 months of moving away from Nigeria. I started trying to lose weight. I would lose 10kg and gain 15kg back, I would lose 5 and gain 8. It was a constant battle of losing and gaining, till I gave my life to Christ at age 19. I went for a 3-day retreat called ‘Encounter’. I remember when it started; everything was amazing until the part about self-image. I was like, “What is it with people and self-image? Can’t they just let it go?”

The lady started talking about how we were God’s master pieces and how He wants to heal us. She was just hitting the nail on the head and it was really pricking me. I burst out crying because I knew God had put His finger on this. He said, “I want to deal with this issue for you. Let’s handle it together.” And that was how the journey started. At the time, I had lost some weight, but still had a negative perception about myself.

So now, it was not about the weight but me accepting who God had created me to be and being happy regardless of how I looked or what society said I should be. I got on a weight loss program that I started myself, and I just had this beautiful journey of becoming whole. The Father’s love changed my view of myself. I eventually went from a size 22 to a size 10. People have asked me how I did it. I know it wasn’t just will power because I had tried that but it didn’t work. I know it was God.

“Serial Rapists Should Have Their Manhood Cut off” – Ireti Doyle

ireti

Recently, there is virtually no day that a rape case is not reported in the news in Nigeria.

Due to this fact, ace Nollywood diva, Ireti Doyle, in a chat with Punch Newspaper, has given her two cents views about the matter.

According to the screen diva, serial rapists should have their manhood cut off if convicted.

She said,

“In Nigeria, as in almost everywhere in the world, I do not think that rape cases are handled properly often times. What makes it worse for us in Nigeria is that in advanced countries, they have strict laws and most times, the law is enforced and justice is done. In Nigeria, we have laws in place but are they enforced as they should be? I don’t think so.

But I am happy that there is a lot more conversation about it. People tend to think that rape is on the increase but I don’t think so; I think it has always been a part of our society but you are hearing a lot more about it now because people are talking about it. That veil of secrecy has been removed and the more we talk about it, the more we blow the whistle against the offenders. Eventually I think we would get it right. We need to put stronger laws in place and enforce them and justice must be done.

“When you hear about a law that castrates rapists, you may think it is extreme but when you think of the ripple effect, the damage that rape causes not just to the victims but people around them, you might want to rethink. I think that the punishment should be hard especially for repeat offenders. Maybe if you are a first time offender, the law might give you room for rehabilitation but if you are a repeated offender, they should cut off your manhood.”

Regarded as one of the few actresses to be blessed with ageless beauty and grace, the star actress shared some of her beauty secrets with Saturday Beats and one of them is that she has learnt the art of ignoring people.

Doyle said,

“I look this youthful due to the grace of God. Like I always say, to look youthful, you have to rid yourself of negative energy – be it people, situations or circumstances. Whatever you cannot control; let it go. I shut out negative comments by simply disregarding them. Although it sounds easier said than done but I am middle aged and I have learnt the art of ignoring people. I cannot help anyone who has a misconception about me. The onus is on the person to come closer and try to discern whether I am a snub or not. Thankfully, the few people that have had the opportunity to come closer see that there is much more to this very cold outer look. I am too old to start trying to please everybody. I can’t please everyone; all I can do is to be myself.”

Kenyan Most Wanted Pregnant Armed Robber Arrested With Her Boyfriend

A suspected robber who is pregnant is in police custody after she was caught together with her boyfriend in possession of a pistol.

The two were arrested Thursday morning, August 11 in a Nanyuki- bound matatu at a terminus in Nyeri, Kenya attempting to flee from the police.

The suspects Vanessa Wambui alias Tisho and Alex Mathenge were found in possession of a Ceska pistol with five rounds of ammunition recovered, with ten rounds spent in previous robberies.

They were spotted at a different terminus in Nyeri town where they boarded a matatu (commercial bus) but later alighted leaving luggage behind after spotting police officers patrolling the area.

Police moved in on the suspects who have been on the police watch list after being alerted of a couple behaving suspiciously.

Witnesses say the two acted very suspiciously, the woman was carrying a leso full of clothes while the boyfriend kept alighting from the vehicle eyeing the surroundings.

“They picked the back seat then the woman sat on her handbag which is very unusual,” said a witness quoted by Nairobi News.

Area OCPD Masai Makau said the woman appears harmless but she is the most feared of all criminals in the town.

“She does not appear to be a criminal but she is one of the most feared. There is a likelihood that many more women have been inducted into criminal gangs since physical appearance does not give away a criminal easily,” he said.

Police in the area said the couple is linked to a series of violent robberies reported in the town.

Warri Gay Man, David Ukre’s Husband Opens Up on Their Wedding

David-Ukre

Nigerian man David Ukre became talk of town when himself and his partner Eric T. Shoen took their love life to another level by getting married in New York July 30th.

Much hasn’t been heared from them since that time.

The husband has since opened up to Huffington Post on their wedding. What he revealed below:

We tried very carefully to make sure this wouldn’t happen. Guests were instructed not to take photos during the ceremony. We were very particular about who was invited. It was a sad added bonus that most of the guests from Nigeria cancelled just 24 hours before the ceremony.

On July 30, I married a Nigerian man. Although he is very special to me, he is not famous. He has never done anything to warrant so much media coverage. We had a small ceremony under the leaves of some great old trees on the lawn of an adorable little restaurant. My family and our closest friends joined us. Our vow exchange was only 30 minutes long.

What followed was a day of love, laughter, joy, eating, sore feet, kids running circles around the yard, and family and friends celebrating our day together. We posted only a few photos to our Facebook pages and asked guests to not post photos or mention our marriage.

That night, we went out dancing to a club with friends who stayed over. The next morning, we decided to take some friends with us on the first day of our honeymoon to see Niagara Falls. We were still enjoying every moment of calling each other husband, taking photos kissing in front of the falls, getting sprayed at the Cave of the Winds, and accepting well wishing texts from family and friends.

Monday morning, I woke up early to return the rental car that we had used for the weekend. When I returned, my husband was pacing and crying, distraught, pointing to his phone. Somehow, someone had either sold or given photos from our wedding and first dance to one of Nigeria’s notorious gossip bloggers, Linda Ikeji who chose to publish them on her blog. Whether to out David and make a mockery or to somehow use it as advocacy, no one knows. What we do know is that she had no permission from either of us to use our photos or story.

My husband calls me “the fixer” for a reason. I felt like I might be able to fix this before it got out of control. I called my sister who is an attorney for advice. Given that the information was posted on an international site, there was little we could do. My friends at Google and Blog-spot, and attorneys who are friends of mine gave me the same unfortunate news. Mind you, this is all happening at 6:30 a.m. on a Monday morning. Friends from all over the USA messaged me as soon as I posted on my Facebook for some assistance.

I did contact the blogger directly via email and asked that the photos of our wedding, of our trip with my family, photos of our groomsmen, and direct quotes from my Facebook page be removed. I quickly locked down the security on my Facebook which had been relatively open so that I could use it for advertising and sales. I never heard back from her.

At 7:00 a.m. I got a call from my twin brother, who is my best friend:
J: “Eric, which blog are you talking about?”
Me: “There should only be one”
J: “It’s already on at least a dozen blogs.”

I had to tell David at this point that there was little I could do. At the same time, his phone and my phone started to heat up with Facebook messages from strangers condemning us for being gay. His phone started to ring continuously from unknown Nigerian phone numbers.

I felt lost. I still get a terrible feeling in my stomach just a week and a half later. I hate being helpless. How could our tiny, personal wedding in Rochester mean so much to hateful people on the other side of the planet that they would find us on the internet so they could harass us?

I worked as fast as I could asking bloggers to remove our photos and mention of us, but only one complied. By the end of the day, more than 150 sites had blogged about us. They were not saying anything overtly mean for the most part. The comments, on the other hand, mostly mentioned the “end of times,” beheading us if we came to Nigeria, asking God to rain down evil upon us, suggesting that we get anal cancer and die, calling us devils, and threatening us in various other vulgar ways. Some people commented positively, but they were in the minority.

David’s groomsmen were also accused of being gay. One of them felt compelled to come out via social media after the pressure.

David’s family was harassed by neighbors and local hooligans. He hadn’t told his family we were getting married. They were not even aware he was gay. David’s sister called to make sure we knew that she knew and she supported us. She relayed that his mom was not admitting anything and continued to defend David to anyone who bothered her. His other siblings also messaged us to say that they were being harassed via telephone, in person, and social media.

You might ask yourself why I would share this story.

You see, I fell in love with an amazing Nigerian man. I knew it was illegal for him to be gay in his country. I knew it was illegal for his family to know he was gay and not report him. I never thought that my tiny little wedding in

Rochester, New York to this man would go any further than between our close friends who were invited and maybe some of their friends.

David was afraid to come out of the closet to his family for so many reasons, some of which I recognize in my own coming out story. Telling my parents was very frightening, painful and tough, but they support me now. I grew up here, where letting someone know you are gay was tough, not illegal. Some of David’s reasoning can only be understood by someone who grew up in Nigeria or a similar country where it is illegal to be gay.

Why would this be such big news in Nigeria? I believe it is because the press still wants to vilify gay men and women. They want to show that the USA is a place that corrupts the morals of children and is a den of sin an iniquity. The current political election probably isn’t helping change that impression much. The mere thought of two men getting married is enough to incite vitriol from all corners of Nigeria, and other parts of the world still today.

We queer folk still have a lot of fighting to do. We may have thankfully won marriage equality here on American soil, but until it is legally safe for our gay, queer, trans, and gender non-conforming brothers, sisters, and family to live their lives as they wish to be in all corners of the world, the fight must go on.

In Photos: Man Uses Dog As Best Man At His Wedding | His Reason Why Will Touch You!

Justin Gabe

It looks like every other special matrimonial occasion until you see who the best man of the groom is!

It’s no doubt that dogs are man’s best friends, but this service dog takes it up a notch when he walks as the Best Man at Justin Lanford and Carol Balmes’ wedding.

What looked like an ordinary union became a very special one with the dog’s participation. Surely, the furry four-legged companion of Justin stole the spotlight and the hearts of the guests when he walked down the aisle.

Justin Gabe 1

Maybe a lot of you would be surprised to know that a dog, and not a human was the Best Man at a very memorable wedding. But once you learn the story behind it, for sure, you will give Gabe the service dog a two-thumbs up.

Justin Lanford said in an interview:

“I was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division and we were in eastern Afghanistan in early 2012. We struck an IED and it flipped my truck completely. I had bilaterally severed femurs which resulted in the amputation of my left leg.”

Justin Gabe 2

Gabe, the Best Man at Justin’s wedding, is a service dog who matched with him years ago through the Warrior Canine Connection. The whole process aims to help veterans deal with the post-traumatic stress disorder by connecting them with support animals.

In the case of Justin, Gabe really is a good match.

“The less I use my wheelchair, the more I need his help in smaller tasks and the more he is there. It has been very comforting to know that. I have a prosthetic lubricant to slide my leg into place in the morning and he can retrieve that,” Justin said. “He helps me with one thing to the next. I can use him as a stable surface to lean on, as I get to and from the ground. If I fall, he’ll come up running next to me and I can use him to push off of to get up off the ground,” Justin said.

Justin Gabe 4

Quite an inspiring story, there certainly is no qualms with Gabe being the best man for Justin!
