“It’s tough carrying the bills as a father” – Ubi Frankin writes as he celebrates fourth child, Ariella on her 4th birthday

Nigerian music executive, Ubi Franklin has taken to social media to celebrate his daughter, Ariella, on her fourth birthday today, August 4.

It will be recalled that Ubi and his controversial babymama, businesswoman Sandra Iheuwa, welcomed Ariella in 2019.

Taking to his Instagram page to mark her birthday as she turns 4, Ubi shared a series of photos with his daughter and penned a heartfelt message to her.

He stated that he wants her to understand that he has overcome the challenges that arose when she was born, and he believes that with time and trust in God, he will find the best way to manage the traumatic experiences.

The 37-year-old talent manager, who has four children with different women, also admitted that it hasn’t been easy to financially provide for all his children, but he would do anything to provide for them.

As You Turn 4 Today

Being a father has been lot of struggle, I try my best to be one of the best fathers out there, this is not a competition, but a dedicated service to you my baby.

As my last child, I want you to know I have weathered the “Storms” that came with you being born, I trusted God and time to give me the best way to deal with Traumatic experiences.

Today I look back and smile I’ll always say, this can only be God, I’m happy to celebrate your 4th Birthday today with so much love in my heart to give to you and your siblings.

Aside my Birthday, yearly I have to celebrate 4 Birthdays in April for Shiloh, July for Jayden, August for you Ariella and Zaneta.

Being a father has been very rewarding, I couldn’t have done this without God’s guidance.

All I do today is for you and your siblings, I’ll do anything for you, it’s tough sometimes carrying the bills as a father for everyone no matter the need.

Veteran Nollywood actor, Pete Edochie, has confirmed the marriage crash of his fellow actress, Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha.

Although there had been speculations that Chioma’s marriage to her husband Franklyn, whom she married in 2016, has ended, these rumors were never substantiated.

Chioma herself has neither confirmed nor denied the marriage breakup rumors. She also did a good job at keeping her husband and children from the public, so the divorce rumours remained mere speculations.

However, her senior colleague in the industry, Pete Edochie, appears to have confirmed the rumours now.

In a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Pete Edochie said he was shocked to receive news about Chioma’s divorce and those of other actresses in the industry.

He also expressed concern over the rising number of divorce cases within the Nollywood movie industry, particularly among actresses. He further emphasized that marriage is meant to be for better or worse.

“If you come to our Industry today, most of our ladies who got married 2- 3 years ago have all left their husbands, I was shocked that Chioma Chukwa had left her husband, Ireti Doyle, Tonto Dikeh. Famous Canadian singer, Celine Dion’s sister, Claudette Dion, has revealed that the singer is struggling because she has a condition called stiff person syndrome.

Stiff person syndrome is a very rare and incurable neurological condition that causes uncontrollable muscle spasms.

Speaking to Le Journal de Montreal (via SheMazing), Claudette spoke about how Celine’s life has been since she had to cancel her world tour. Claudette admitted that her sister needs to take a break to rest.

However, she mentioned that the singer, who is popularly known for her hit song ‘My heart will go on’, is working really hard to find a cure for the condition, which some doctors call ‘statue syndrome.’

‘She’s listening to the top researchers in the field of this rare disease as much as possible,’ Claudette said.

Claudette acknowledged how devoted her sister is to her performances, stating that, “She always gives her all, striving to excel and be at the top of her game however there comes a time when your heart and body are sending you a message.”

Her sister noted, “[Performing is] innate to her, she’s disciplined in every area of her life.”

“We can’t find any medicine that works, but having hope is important,” Claudette emphasized.

A source close to the singer recently told US Weekly, “It came as a shock, but she’s lost none of her fighting spirit and is comforted that at least she knows exactly what she’s dealing with now.”

They added, “There’s comfort that she can alleviate some of the symptoms by getting treatments that are specific for this condition.”

President Tinubu writes Senate, seeks approval for military action and other sanctions against Niger Republic

Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has written the Nigerian senate for approval on proposed military action and other sanctions against the military officers who recently seized power in the Niger Republic.

The proposed sanctions were listed in the letter which was read on the floor of the Upper Chamber by the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio on Friday, August 4.

It read;

“Political situation in Niger.

“Following the unfortunate political situation in the Niger Republic culminating in the overthrow of its President, ECOWAS under my leadership condemned the coup in its entirety and resolved to seek the return of the democratically elected govt. in a bid to restore peace, ECOWAS convened a meeting and came out with a communique.

“Closure and monitoring of all land borders with the Niger Republic and reactivating of the border drilling exercise.

”Cutting off Electricity supply to the Niger Republic

”Mobilizing international support for the implementation of the provisions of the ECOWAS communique

“Preventing the operation of commercial and special flights into and from Niger Republic

Popular Nigerian music video director, TG Omori has taken netizens down memory lane with a video from the days of acting movie extras for N3k.

In the video TG Omori could be seen playing the role of a Police officer extra in the in the popular comedy series, Papa Ajasco.

He added that he got paid just N3k for being a police extra, poverty showed him black and white, and he looked older than his age that year.

Recall that recently the music video director knocked a fan who rejected his N1,000 then goes online to troll him.

The person with the Twitter handle 1k Omori @Billar_ray stated he was still upset over the videographer’s activity from months ago and claimed the sum of money was insufficient to purchase the cannabis strain known as Loud.

Media personality, Nedu Wazobia, has confessed that his previous marriage to Uzoamaka Ohiri was difficult for him to get over.

The comedian who divorced his ex-wife Uzoamaka in 2018 after accusing her of paternity fraud claimed it was the worst time of his life, but he continued to make funny videos to amuse those who were unaware of his depression.

He disclosed it when speaking with VJ Adams on the MTV Base Africa program, MTV Base Sparks.

Nedu claimed that in 2017 and 2018, as a result of the difficulties he was facing, he began to experience anxiety attacks when his marriage began to have problems.

However, the controversial TV and radio host said that before he officially ended his marriage to his estranged wife, he was “healed” by another woman.

He said;

“Getting over my first marriage, it was the most difficult period in my life. The funny thing is, it was 2017/2018, I was going through hell, but nobody knew.

You know how it is when you are taking a walk, and your heart is skipping for no just reason. I was under anxiety attacks. But guess what? I was doing comedy skits and posting daily. But I was going through hell.

Yes, I have healed fully from that situation, 150 per cent. The person that healed me does not even know she was the one that healed me. I healed even before I left the marriage because if you are not healed, you can’t move on. So, I got to a point where I was healed a bit, and then I moved on and then totally got healed much later.”

Man banned from Canada for 5 years after paying N15 million and getting a fake job offer

A Nigerian man has shared the unexpected events that took place after he paid a travel agent N15 million to secure him a job and a visa to Canada.

According to Grama Shasha who shared the man’s story on TikTok, he wanted to relocate to Canada with his family.

A visa to Canada for the man and his family was promised in exchange for an upfront payment of N5 million from the man.

A fake letter of employment that the agency promised would allow him to work in Canada was all that was delivered to him after a few months.

The travel agency disappeared after that. The man went to another agent since he wasn’t sure what to do and gave him the letter containing the job offer.

The new agent’s application for the man’s Canadian visa was examined by the embassy, and it was discovered that the job offer letter was a fake.

The man’s visa application was denied, and he was also denied entry to Canada for a period of five years. The individual mistakenly obtained the phony employment offer letter from the travel agent, which led to the ban.

The soldier who described the snake as “weapon formed against him”, said he cooked pepper soup with it and used its skin as souvenir.

In other news, a Nigerian lady has stirred reactions online after she shared the shocking device she got when she attempted to purchase an iPhone.

She had visited computer village in Ikeja, Lagos state to buy an iPhone but she got duped by traders who sold her a dummy instead.

It was gathered that she went to buy an new phone and after paying the money, she left the place only to later try to put it on and see that it was not coming on.

She opened the device and found broken pieces of tiles inside what she thought was an iPhone and felt totally devastated.

The lady went back to computer village to find the people that sold it to her but she could no longer locate them.

In a video which surfaced online, she was complaining and showing the phone to a group of people that stopped to inquire what was wrong.

Big Brother Naija star and TV host, Maria Chike Benjamin, has taken to Twitter to share her pregnancy struggles.

Maria, who is heavily pregnant with her first child, complained that she had been searching for her Twitter app on her phone to share her troubles, but couldn’t because she momentarily forgot that it has been rebranded as “X”.

According to her, she is currently struggling with ‘mummy brain’ and easily forgets things. She also disclosed that she is getting shorter and her nose has noticeably increased in size due to her pregnancy.

The reality show star, who debuted her pregnancy on June 23rd, further questioned what she did wrong to deserve these negative experiences.

She tweeted on Thursday, August 3,

“I’ve been looking for my Twitter app since yesterday on my phone to update on my struggles in life. Saw X so many times but didn’t realise it was Twitter. The singer, who hails from Enugu state, further disclosed that he has two chieftaincy titles and should be respected. However, this statement didn’t sit well with Ceec and she berated him, stating that he should “shut the f*ck up”.

In reply, Whitemoney retorted that she wouldn’t have been able to talk to him in such a derogatory manner outside the house.

Nonetheless, Ceec remained adamant, stating that he would be surprised at the caliber of men she interacts with outside the house.

Moon and Khalifa turned three and one respectively on June 29, and their mother threw a lavish birthday party to celebrate their new age.

A little girl has stirred reactions online after sharing a fascinating story of a dream she had in which she saw heaven.

She described the dream as being pleasant and weird, filled with great pictures and happy creatures.

Her encounter with a large tree that had luscious fruits dangling from its branches was the highlight of the dream.

She encountered a figure in her dream whom she took to be Jesus, who generously offered her a fruit from the tree, which she gratefully accepted.

When the little girl woke up, she was astounded by the wonderful view and had a great desire to tell people about her dream.

She said;

“I went to heaven, it was so beautiful. all the animals were just jumping around, playing. I saw tree with fruits and Jesus asked me do you a fruits, and I said yes. It was so beautiful, then I went to Abba. He told me to tell everybody how great it is to be in heaven.”

Mercy Eke revealed to her other housemates last night that her boyfriend was possessively jealous and that he had told her not to take part in the show.

She further disclosed that he offered her 120 million Naira on purpose to discourage her from joining, but she turned down the cash.

Award-winning Nigerian music star, Tiwa Savage, has revealed that she did not understand how big of a deal it was for her to perform at King Charles III’s coronation when she first got the call.

Recall that in May 2023, the sensational Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage made history as the first Nigerian artist to perform at a British royal event. She delivered an exhilarating performance at King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s coronation concert.

The concert took place on the East Lawn of Windsor Castle and featured a lineup of renowned musicians and performers from around the world. Among them was Tiwa Savage, who captivated the audience with an incredible performance that left them mesmerized.

However, speaking during an interview with MTV UK she revealed that when she accepted the gig, she did not know she did realize initially how big a deal it was to perform at King’s Charles coronation

According to her, she was not aware that would be the only one representing the Commonwealth at the event until much later.

She said,

“When I got the call about performing at the King’s coronation, I didn’t tell a lot of people at first. But eventually, I told my mum and as always I was like, Mum, please don’t tell anyone. Then literally 20 minutes later, my brother is calling me, he was like, ‘Oh my gush!’ And I’m like, mum, wow! So, I’m not telling my mum anything again.

Initially, I didn’t realize how big a deal it [performing at the King’s coronation] was. And I also didn’t know who else was going to be performing either. So, I didn’t know I was going to be the only one representing the Commonwealth. So, when I started getting that information, I was like, ‘Wow! No pressure.’ It was great though.

Like I said, to represent the Commonwealth, and just looking back at the performance. It was iconic. It was such a great experience for me.”

The thespian, who has been very vocal about her support for Yul’s first wife, May, following his marriage to his second wife, Judy Austin, shared a funny video on her page mocking Yul for dancing when he had a potential court case to deal with.

Singer Lizzo loses over 120,000 followers on Instagram amid sexual harassment and body-shaming claims

American singer, Lizzo, has lost a significant number of followers on her social media page amid allegations of sexual harassment and body-shaming.

The 35-year-old Entertainer is being sued by three of her former backing dancers for alleged sexual harassment, discrimination and creating a hostile work environment.

Lizzo has lost 123,489 followers on Instagram since the news broke and now has 13.4million followers.

On X (formrly known as Twitter) Lizzo has lost over 14,000 followers since the lawsuit was filed in California on Tuesday 1st August.

On Friday, Lizzo dismissed the sexual harassment lawsuit filed against her as ‘unbelievable’ and ‘outrageous’ as she broke her silence on the claims.

She insisted the claims are untrue and alleged her accusers had previously been warned about their own ‘inappropriate and unprofessional’ conduct.

She also finally addressed THOSE banana sex act allegations which claimed the singer invited cast members to eat bananas from nude performers’ vaginas while in Amsterdam.

Lizzo wrote in a statement: ‘These last few days have been gut-wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing.

‘My work ethic, morals, and respectfulness have been questioned. My character has been criticized. Usually, I choose not to respond to false allegations but these are as unbelievable as they sound and too outrageous to not be addressed.
‘These sensationalized stories are coming from former employees who have already publicly admitted that they were told their behavior on tour was inappropriate and unprofessional.

‘As an artist, I have always been very passionate about what I do. I take my music and my performances seriously because at the end of the day I only want to put out the best art that represents me and my fans.

Plaintiffs Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez have accused Lizzo of creating a ‘sexually charged and uncomfortable’ work environment in their lawsuit.

They said in their filing: ‘Things quickly got out of hand. Lizzo began inviting cast members to take turns touching the nude performers, catching dildos launched from the performers’ vaginas, and eating bananas protruding from the performers’ vaginas.’

The dancers added Lizzo allegedly ‘pressured’ and ‘goaded’ Arianna into touching one of the nude performers’ breasts.

She refused multiple times, while the popstar allegedly chanted louder and louder to encourage her to do the act, the lawsuit claimed. She eventually did touch the performer.

A lady has stirred reactions online after she shared the shocking device she got when she attempted to purchase an iPhone.

She had visited computer village in Ikeja, Lagos state to buy an iPhone but she got duped by traders who sold her a dummy instead.

It was gathered that she went to buy an new phone and after paying the money, she left the place only to later try to put it on and see that it was not coming on.

She opened the device and found broken pieces of tiles inside what she thought was an iPhone and felt totally devastated.

The lady went back to computer village to find the people that sold it to her but she could no longer locate them.

In a video which surfaced online, she was complaining and showing the phone to a group of people that stopped to inquire what was wrong.

“Why I dumped law for music” – The Cavemen’s Kingsley opens up

Nigerian singer, Kingsley Okorie, one-half of the well-known Nigerian highlife group, The Cavemen, has spoken candidly about his professional aspirations.

Speaking on the most recent episode of The Nancy Isime Show with his brother and bandmate Benjamin Okorie, he explained why, despite being licensed to practice law, he decided to pursue music professionally.

He claimed that his first love has always been music and after graduating from law school he chose to pursue a career in music alongside his brother Benjamin rather than pursue a legal career.

Unlike his brother, Benjamin said, he chose to attend a music school rather than the university.

“He [Kingsley] went to the university, I refused to go to the university. I went to a music school, studied music for two years. Then we now came back together.

Kingsley inferred, “After law school, I came back to the house and I told my brother, ‘Yo, in law school while I was going to a civil litigation class, I thought about it cause I was in Kano, I’m away from Lagos and Abuja where I would get gigs, so I think I’m in a cave. I think I’m a caveman.’ And my brother was like, yeah that is the name.”

Benjamin added, “I have been playing the drum since I was 2. I failed WEAC, I told my mum that I want to go to the music school and she said okay. The firstborn [Kingsley] is pursuing his law career as being the firstborn so there was no pressure on me which was perfect to do what I really love. And that is what we are using to feed the family now.”

BBNaija All Stars housemate, Doyin has opined that there was no justification for having s*x on national TV.

According to her, the show was only ongoing for two months and any one who could not abstain for that long had a serious problem they needed to get help with.

Speaking during a conversation with her colleague, Soma, Doyin revealed that she would voluntarily exit the house if she ever engaged in such an act.

She stated this in reaction to the drama that unfolded this morning when Tolanibaj disgraced Ilebaje and ordered her out of their room for getting in bed with Neo.

Recall that the Instagram prankster was accused of making an indecent video with a youngster and was jailed for a period of time after appearing in court.

He claims that his little time in prison taught him the value of freedom and inspired him to live honorably going forward.

Big Brother Naija All Stars housemate, Frodd has shared details on the amount he spent on his wedding ceremony.

According to him, he had spent a total of 30 million naira on just his traditional wedding.

He revealed this in the BBNaija All Stars house to Cross, a fellow housemate, during a conversation on the necessity of saving money before considering marriage.

Frodd stated that he paid N5 million on the bride price and a few other items while showing Cross his traditional wedding photo album.

The Anambra-born reality TV star claimed that in addition to spending N2 million for each parent’s clothing, he spent a total of N15 million on drinks.

He said;

“If you are trying to get married, keep money in bulk. I spent like N30 million for my traditional wedding.

Bride price and a few little things took 5 million, parents’ outfits took like 1-2 million each and drinks took up to 15 million.”

Nigerian music video director, ThankGod Omori Jesam, popularly known as TG Omori, and the fan who refused to accept his cash handout have taken to social media to settle their issues months after the incident occurred.

A guy who claimed to be the individual who refused Omori’s N1,000 mocked Omori on Twitter for offering him and his buddies that little to split despite charging millions for the video shoot.

The person with the Twitter handle 1k Omori @Billar_ray stated he was still upset over the videographer’s activity from months ago and claimed the sum of money was insufficient to purchase the cannabis strain known as Loud.

He wrote;

The controversial couple has been actively sharing videos online, emphasizing that they are very much in love with each other despite the odds and negativity.

This started shortly after the tragic loss of Yul’s son with his first wife, Kambili, in March. Many have described the videos as offensive and inappropriate considering the recent tragedy, but they have continued sharing their content.

Reacting to this, Blessing went online to express her displeasure with the couple for trying to force their love down people’s throat.

A Nigerian couple has caused quite a stir on social media after their WhatsApp conversation, where they confessed to each other that they are planning to marry other people, surfaced online.

In the viral clip, the lady sent an emotional voice note to her boyfriend to inform him that she has agreed to marry the man her family choose for her.

The lady, who sounded remorseful and tearful, sought his forgiveness for betraying him and asked him to find a place in his heart to forgive her.

According to her, she didn’t want to marry her betrothed but was forced by her family to agree to the marriage.

Surprisingly, her boyfriend, in his response to her revelation, pleaded for her forgiveness as well, as he disclosed that he is also set to marry another woman.

He revealed that he has held his traditional marriage to his secret partner already, and even sent a copy of his wedding invitation to her.

The boyfriend, who was evidently unperturbed by his girlfriend’s plans to marry another man, encouraged her to attend his wedding with her would-be husband.

It all began when D’Banj came across a trending video of the woman sharing what she would do if she were to win a $1 lottery.

A content creator had visited a market in the South West, asking the traders what they would do with $1, equivalent to N778.

Interestingly, most of them didn’t know the actual value of $1 and listed extravagant things they would do with the amount.

However, one woman caught D’Banj’s attention with her response. She stated that she would use the money to complete her building project, support her children, and expand her business.
