Hilarious! These Are 7 Kinds of People You Would Find in a Beer Parlour in Nigeria

beer

With beer parlour seen at every nook and crannies of Nigeria and the trend not slowing down even with the present economic situation of the country.

Then one keeps wondering about the kind of people that goes to a beer parlour even when the economy is experiencing a down turn.

Below are 7 kinds of people you are likely to find in a beer parlour:

1. The ones who would almost buy the whole stock:

These ones are known as the chairmen. They would declare surplus at any bar parlour they enter even when most of them find it difficult to drop upkeep money for their wives at home.

2. The ones who would come to scout for people who would declare surplus:

These group of people would not buy a single bottle of beer with their money. Rather they would come there hoping to find somebody who would declare surplus.

3. The one who would go there for there just because of the beer parlour owner’s daughter:

These ones would buy a bottle of beer hoping to be able to talk to the bar parlour owner’s daughter

4. The ones bottle groover:

These league of people would romance just one bottle of bottles for hours when their mates are almost taking a carton. They would be seen arguing from politics to sport and so on

5. The real buzzer:

These ones would take alcohol like they are taking water. They would keep ordering for the drink and one gets to wonder where they are pouring the drink.

6. The half bottle filled:

These league are known to get drunk almost as soon as they open the beer. Then they would start talking loud and ones would ask the question ”what has he taken?

7. The by force drinker:

These league of drinker are usually the most composed. They would leave their home knowing the number of bottles each person would drink and they would then contribute the money and hand over to one person to pay simply because they do want it to look real like they are a team and that only one person is paying for their buzz when in the real sense each person is paying for whatever he takes.

In another case, they would gather the money without any body noticing when they are about to pay according to what each of them takes.

Do you belong to anyone?

“I Hear Your Cries, I Share Your Pains” – Buhari Tells Nigerians As He Signs 2016 Budget. (Photos)

Buhari signing 2016 budget

Head of State, President Muhammadu Buhari given assurance to Nigerians that his government would be like no other. The President also acknowledged the complaints and cries of most Nigerians.

During the signing of the 6.06 trillion naira budget today, he is quoted as saying:

“Living in the State House does not alienate me from your daily struggles. I hear your cries, I share your pains.I commend the sacrifice, resilience, toughness of all Nigerians, who have continued to have hope and confidence of a great future. This government is like no other. We are absolutely committed to changing the structure of the Nigerian economy once and for all.I can’t promise that it will be an easy journey, but can assure this govt you have freely elected will work with honesty & dedication.I shall speak in more details about the overall economic and social policies of the govt in my address on May 29, God willing”

Full speech below:

Buhari signing 2016 budget1

It gives me great pleasure today to sign the first full-year budget of this administration into law. I thank the leadership of the National Assembly, in particular, the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and indeed all members of the National Assembly for their cooperation in making this a reality.
The budget is intended to signpost a renewal of our commitment to restoring the budget as a serious article of faith with the Nigerian people. This Administration is committed to ensuring that henceforth the annual appropriation bill is presented to the National Assembly in time for the passage of the Act before the beginning of the fiscal year.

Through the 2016 budget, aptly titled “Budget of Change’’, the government seeks to fulfil its own side of the social contract. The Budget I have signed into law provides for aggregate expenditures of N6.06trn. Further details of the approved budget, as well as our Strategic Implementation Plan for the 2016 budget, will be provided by the Honourable Minister of Budget and National Planning.

To illustrate our renewed commitment to infrastructural development, the 2016 budget allocates over N200bn to road construction as against a paltry N18bn allocated for same purpose in the 2015 budget.

I shall be speaking in more details about the Budget, its implementation and the over-all national economic and social policies of the Government in my address on May 29th, God willing.

In designing the 2016 budget, we made a deliberate choice to pursue an expansionary fiscal policy despite the huge decline in government revenues from crude oil exports. This is why we decided to enlarge the budget deficit at this time, to be financed principally through foreign and domestic borrowings. All borrowings will however be applied towards growth-enhancing capital expenditures.
The signing of the budget today will trigger concerted efforts to reflate the Nigerian economy, a key element of which is an immediate injection of N350bn into the economy by way of capital projects. To illustrate our renewed commitment to infrastructural development, the 2016 budget allocates over N200bn to road construction as against a paltry N18bn allocated for same purpose in the 2015 budget.

Despite the current difficulties we will work extra-hard to achieve our revenue projections. Our revenue generating agencies are coming under better management and are being re-oriented. The implementation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) is expected to contribute significantly to improving transparency over government revenues.

Our determined fight against corruption is resulting in improvements in the quality of public expenditure. The work of the Efficiency Unit, as well as other public financial management initiatives, are also contributing in this regard. The continuing efforts to reduce recurrent expenditures should hopefully free up more funds for capital expenditure in 2017 and beyond.

As I said in my New Year message, living in State House does not in any way alienate me from your daily struggles. I read the newspapers and listen to the TV and radio news. I hear your cries. I share your pains.

Buhari signing 2016 budget2

We are experiencing probably the toughest economic times in the history of our Nation. I want to commend the sacrifice, resilience and toughness of all Nigerians young and old who have despite the hardships continued to have hope and confidence of a great future for Nigerians. But permit me to say that this government is also like none other. We are absolutely committed to changing the structure of the Nigerian economy once and for all.

We are working night and day to diversify the economy so that we never again have to rely on one commodity to survive as a country. So that we can produce the food we eat, make our own textiles, produce most of the things we use. We intend to create the environment for our young peoples to be able to innovate and create jobs through technology.
I cannot promise you that this will be an easy journey, but in the interest of so much and so many we must tread this difficult path. I can assure you that this government you have freely elected will work with honesty and dedication, day and night to ensure that our country prospers and that the prosperity benefits all Nigerians. God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Seyi Shay is DONE Talking About Tiwa Savage’s Interview

img_4110

Yesterday Tiwa Savage’s interview, and Seyi Shay’s reaction to it, caused a lot of buzz on social media but now Seyi Shay is moving on from all that.

She has since deleted the post from yesterday and instead she posted on Instagram:

Dont u just love this pic? classic case! .. ok! So I had to delete that post because people are now talking too much about things and people that have NOTHING to do with me… In reality I DONT CARE.

I just got sidetracked with some silly ‘ish’. ‘I caught feelings, I’m now about to catch a flight’ and ‘face my work’

I live my life, mind my business and I’m having fun with it, living everyday like its my last and Trying my best to be the best I can be for my God and my Jesus! – Salvation is personal.

People should not be so concerned with the issues in this industry. I know it’s hard because everyone wants to be entertained but Nothing is as it seems! Don’t forget that while your being entertained.

Don’t let it affect your life negatively by allowing you to waste soooo much time when you could be making your own life better.
BUT! I just LOVE my sense of humor!! (I do anyway).
Have a great day!

Seyi Shay Left Heartbroken After Tiwa Savage Confirmed She Doesn’t Like Her

img_4110

Looks like Seyi Shay might be feeling like Tiwa Savage threw some low key shade at her in a recent interview.

The Mavin First Lady chopped it up with Urban 96FM a few days before her marriage drama with Tee Billz played out for the entire world to watch.

In the interview Tiwa talked about her favourite ten songs, having a difficult pregnancy, adoption plans, Tee Billz crying more than her son and an interesting non-comment about Seyi Shay.

When asked about Seyi Shay being a Pepsi Ambassador alongside her?

She replied,

You are so…ugh…having an interview with this girl is crazy. See I knew you were going to drop this in anyway, everybody has heard! What? Am I happy for Davido? Of course. I love him. He’s absolutely fantastic.
For whatever reason she avoided mentioning Shay’s name…instead deflecting to Davido who wasn’t even mentioned.

The interview must have had Seyi feeling some type of way because she took to her Instagram page where she posted an excerpt from the interview and added, “Yikes! alongside the broken heart and crying emoji”.

See excerpts from the interview below:

On her post-baby body she said: How’s my stomach? It’s still bulging. It’s not completely flat. But we’re working on it. I’m taking my time, I’m enjoying the bulge. It’s extra cushion for my son when he sleeps. It’s like a pillow.

On getting stretch marks from her pregnancy: Oh I always had stretch marks but not on my stomach though…my legs. So it was just like ‘Hey welcome to the family’ *laughs* and there are still stretch marks on my stomach and my boobs as well.

On if things have changed since having her baby: Physically some things are south, more so than others but mentally I’m really happy. I’m more motivated…more so than ever before. I have this renewed strength and I think I’m more organized now because I have to make sure my son’s okay, my husband’s okay and I’m okay.

On having more kids: I do want to have another one but its just that the thought of going through all of that again…because I really had a difficult pregnancy. I was throwing up the whole nine months, I was eating a lot. Even if I still have my own – by God’s grace I want a little girl – I will still adopt because a lot of children do need homes.

“I Risked My Life & That of My Daughter’s To Interview Tiwa Savage” – Azuka Ogujiuba Speaks Out Again

azuka

Aunty Azuka Ogujiuba, the journalist who trended and was mocked after her epic interview with Tiwa Savage has once again reacted to the backlash and criticisms she’s received concerning how she conducted that explosive interview!

A few days ago she took to her Facebook page to open up about risking her life and that of her child to make her way to Tiwa’s home to interview her at 2.00am. Read the piece below:

READ ALSO: Tiwa Savage’s Interviewer, Azuka Ogujiuba, Responds To Her Critics, Reveals More

Woooooooow, lam really trending o, world people have now created another version n topic ‘The Interviewer’ out of Tiwa Savage n Teeblizz marital woe saga.

The issue on ground have been shifted aside and my body language n mannerism during my chat with her is now giving some people sleepess nights. I have one advice for people talking down on my profesional approach especially my colleagues- The training l got from the prestigious University of Lagos Mass Comm depart, as a print journalist is to go after the scoop first, how l looked or stared at Tiwa is not important but the story lam after.

Secondly, was l able to make Tiwa talk about the allegations presented by her husband? Of course YES, that is what is important. Thirdly, did l have a good network to get the exclusive interview? YES obviously.

Fourthly, did l risk my life as a true journalist would do for an exclusive interview by leaving my daughter alone in the bedroom, not thinking incase there was a sudden fire outbreak or something, or what about me who had to be driven from the mainland to the island on that dark and lonely third mainland bridge by 2.15 am? YES, l took one of the biggest risk of my life. Fourthly, why would Tiwa prefer me to all the television personalities that has been compared to me to interview her, and some of these TV personalities are always hanging around her more than me?

It is simply because she respects my style of journalism. Fifthly, Some people said l didnt show any empathy towards Tiwa when she cried and how did they know? And if l had been mushy mushy during my chat, they will still find fault n say l was biased. I bet a lot of these people abusing wish they were the ones who did that interview, too bad l have done it and nothing dey happen for igboro..End of the day what gave me so much satisfaction was that l did the exclusive interview with Tiwa, l have done my bit as a print journaist(not TV) If anybody is so pained by my approach, they should drink acid o, ‘CYBER BULLYING’ has no space in my territory and to be honest l dont give a hoot about those hateful comments which they claim is criticism, anyway, it is a free world people are allowed to vent their frustrations termed critism. Iam not saying l wont pick from the criticism, the good ones l have happily accepted and the bad ones l have sent back to the senders o..LOL.. Its a new week FB family, may God almighty bless our hustle in Jesus name. Amen!

Speaking of Omawumi, there are 9 things somebody needs to tell celebrities about journalists

omaoma

Omawumi is all the rave at the moment. Everyone has an opinion as to the interview where she walked out on her interviewer for asking uncomfortable questions.

We love Omawumi (I mean, who doesn’t), but this incident raises an opportunity to share with celebrities the 9 ways that they sorely misunderstand the people whose job it is to tell their stories

We are not your PR
It is the work of your Public Relations agent to make you look good. News flash: that’s not my job description. My job is to report what needs to be reported. Sure, there are many hacks who have blurred the lines and spend time hanging around you begging for pennies.

Well you don’t see us claiming that every musician is as wack as Tony Tetuila do we? Every profession has quacks. Much of us aren’t. It’s not our job to make you look good. That’s yours. Ours is to tell the public whatever it is you are, and can be.

If we are there in good times, we will be there in bad times
If Tiwa releases a hot album called RED, you would notice we were all crowing about it. It’s simple: Tiwa is Nigeria’s biggest female music star not named Asa. You would also notice that when her husband ran mad on the road, naked, we had to report it. Why? It’s simple: Tiwa is Nigeria’s biggest female music star not named Asa.

If you share your ‘hot new photos’ when you lose weight and we report, stop whining when you step onto the red carpet after 10kg and we report it. It’s not mean. It’s life.
In which case, stop praising us when we write good articles about you.

It is usually a trap. And we don’t like traps. When we see something good and we say it, don’t thank us for it. We did it not because we have any interest in your praise, we did it because that’s what has to be said.

Asa’s concert was incredible. Has nothing to do with the fact that we all love her. If it was bad, we woulda said it. If she got upset about it, well tough luck.

‘Support us’ is not a request I can heed
If you do a movie like Half of a Yellow Sun, and you totally destroy the beauty of the book, don’t expect us to support it simply ‘to support our own’. When last did you buy a newspaper to ‘support our own’. Stop eet! We are here to do a job.

If your shit is good, we tell it like it is. If it’s bad, it doesn’t matter if it was manufactured with ofe onugbu from the deepest part of the Anambra river, we will call it.

We are not wicked because we published what you said we shouldn’t
I hear people say this a lot about Linda Ikeji and it truly worries me. Listen, you might say your father is not a thief, but if the EFCC says he is, then we have to report it. Stop saying we are wicked simply because we publish something that saddens you, embarrasses you or makes you uncomfortable.

It’s fair game to bring up rumours
Not everybody is an investigative journalist. Some of us hate that job in fact. Some of us are features writers, some of us are gossip journalists, some of us deal in opinion. Every field has its own requirements. If you go on an entertainment show, stop expecting the reporter to be Christiane Amanpour.

I don’t see you asking Ryan Seacrest to publish the Panama Papers. If there is a rumour, and people are talking about it, we reserve the right to ask you.

If it’s not true, just say so
If something is a lie, what’s the problem? Say it. Seriously. Stop twisting and turning and issuing press releases to announce your age.

Stop lying and expecting me to make it easy for you to get away with your lie. I don’t know if you smoke or drink, and if my reader wants to know and I ask, why are you so mad?

Say it isn’t, put on a smile, move on. The more you dramatise it, the worse it gets. Unless of course that was your entire plan all along. In which case, welcome to the field of play.

All of us don’t sit together to hate on you
I keep hearing people say ‘these journalists hate me’. Excuse me please. If you want to insult me, say it to my face.

There is no place where all journalists go and meet to hate on anyone. If you’re hated upon, check yourself. Did you try to deceive your baby mama and fly her baby to Dubai without permission?

Did your landlord pursue you from the house for not paying house rent? That’s not my fault. Go and deal with your problem please. If we see news, we will report. If all of us see it at the same time, we will report it. It doesn’t mean we have agreed to hate on you. It means you are news. Period.

Seriously, we have a job to do
It is the job of the journalist to stand in the gap for the reader or the listener or the viewer. We are supposed to ask questions they want to ask, find answers they need to have, and provide context that akes the world go round. It’s a job.

You might not like what comes out of it, but you have to start respecting it dammit!

Could she be getting married? or this is just a scene from Jenifa’s Diary?

Actress, Toyin Adewale also posted pictures of herself and fellow colleagues in the traditional aso-ebi and captioned it “Happy married life Funke Akindele, wish you all the best darling,” yeah, like Funke Akindele could manage a secret wedding without us finding out.

Though no official statement has been released by the Jenifa Diaries star and her alleged lover confirming the status of their relationship, we are on the look out for the slightest indication and will be sure to revert on development around this couple. It should be noted that Mr Skillz made his debut on Funke’s tv series last week playing her love interest.

Well, not if Ms. Akindele and her man finally tie the knots (we’re holding our breaths for them), it will be the Globacom ambassador’s second trip down the aisle as her 3 May 2012 marriage to Kehinde Oloyede, son to the former iyaloja of Oshodi which was a star-studded affair crashed just one year on. The drama surrounding the split could have informed her decision to keep her new relationship under wraps.

Wouldn’t you just love to see Funke and JJC get married?

“I’m Fed Up. Why Do Only Broke Men Approach Me For Marriage? Please Help”

Please i need ur help. Am having challenges in area of relationship. I have the problem of ending up with men who are nothing but gold diggers. They seem good from the start but before a few months, they will turn into pests.

I dont know what is responsible for this. I just need a man who ll love me on the basis of who i am not what i have. I am from a well to do family, I am the only daughter of my parents and my dad is late, I actually inherited quite a lot and initially it seemed like a blessing until I got older.

All the Guys i ve met so far re fake displaying fake love just to get hold of what is in my possession. I will give you a little insight so you can understand what I am going tru. Around 2013, my then fiance kidnapped himself and because i already knew he was too needy and then their was a lot of inconsistencies in the story so i ignored the kidnappers who were demanding for 700k ransom. The guys showed up 2 weeks later fuming without any injuries or even shedding any weight

He was ranting and saying all sorts like how wicked i was and how i abandoned him to die. I had to break it off immediately because he was beginning to sound like i was his mother and father joined together. The next relationship went quite the same way.

The guy sold my car and came up with stories of how he was robbed at onipanu by palm-grove. unfortunately for him, i had a tracker which had its own inbuilt battery, so when they disconnected the car battery thinking they have disabled the tracker, they gaffed. the car was subsequently tracked down to shagamu at a hotel managed by his cousin. these are just the few recent ones.

There are many more experiences that i wouldn’t bother you with but I am tired. the worst is that some will even want to move in with me because of the comfort of my place. Its really frustrating. My mum said i should stop driving but its nearly impossible for me to get around lagos without a car.

I simply stopped using the big cars and got a Toyota matrix and i even had to drive myself so it dosnt look like i am the one attracting the wrong men and scaring away the good ones yet i haven’t been lucky.

I am not looking for a millionaire, I just want a man with a little dignity and value not the ones who will start demanding for loans or come up with stories within months of how their visa was stuck or how their mother was diabetic and needed money for blood transfusion. I have heard a lot of such stories and i am tired.

I dont know if my mum is right that i am scaring away the right ones with my lifestyle. Honestly, i dont even live flamboyantly neither do I club. I am in my early 30’s and i really need to settle down.

“I Survived On Water For 7 Days” – Former Minister Anisulowo Recounts Ordeal With Abductors.

Senator-Iyabo-Anisulowo

Former Minister of State for Education, Senator Iyabo Anisulowo, has narrated her experience during her seven-day ordeal in the hands of her abductors.

Speaking to journalists after she arrived the Government House, Abeokuta, Ogun State on Tuesday night, Anisulowo said she survived solely on water, adding that she did not eat throughout the seven days of her captivity.

She said:

“I’ve been on water, I did not eat anything throughout. “I’m short of words, but I want to thank the governor and also thank God. I want to thank His Excellency for all the efforts you have put in with the security agents.

“I know the courage you have and the spirit to fight to the end and that was what kept me alive in the bush. I had the assurance that with the security agents that you have, you will work it through, so I thank God.”

‎The governor disclosed that the kidnappers raised her ransom from N100 million to N200 million because of his involvement and said the leaders of the kidnapping gang abused him “thoroughly” on the telephone in a conversation he had with them …

“We spoke with her (Anisulowo) and with them (kidnappers). They were moving from one place to the other and they did that wonderfully well.“Believe me, it was a pleasant surprise that technologically our people can do what they did.
“If they are given the necessary equipment, they will work wonders. It is a huge victory. I think the issue of kidnapping will go down a bit with what they (security agencies) have achieved.
“I think it is a big shame that we find ourselves in a situation where we should not be. Young people that are supposed to be ‎working are demanding ransom of N200 million. They even said because I got involved they increased it from N100 million to N200 million. They insisted from the second day that their ransom was N200 million. They said they had wanted to collect N100 million and I told them that they will face the law, and that it was in their interest to release her.

“They even threatened me and every other person. They said they will teach me, the IG, the brigade commander and all others lesson. They were abusing everybody on the phone, but we thank God the way it was resolved. All glory to God.
“I can say it authoritatively that no kobo was paid to them. Of course, we did all that we were supposed to do. They reduced the ransom to N150 million, we asked them to come and take, but they did not come. We didn’t pay a kobo to anybody. We thank God that she is here live and direct,” he said.

The state police commissioner added that the kingpin of the gang was arrested at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos, while attempting to flee to Dubai.

I Am a Man But I Want to Change to a Woman, Still I’m Scared of How My Family Will React – Confused man

I’m an Asian Muslim gay man, who is also trans inclined.

I was forced into marriage a year ago, but the woman I married is not in the UK at the moment, which is good as I hate this bubble of lies.

I know I want to be a woman and I only like men. My family will never accept it, though, and will disown me or may even hurt me.

Everyone around me knows what I am, even my family, but it’s a case of ‘see no evil’ with them and they just bury their heads in the sand.

I don’t know what to do or who to turn to. Every other aspect of my life is great, but this is ruining me.

In the past I’ve suffered from depression and suicidal thoughts, but I’ve come through that and don’t feel that way any more.

Please help, what do I do?
