Veteran Nollywood actor, Rita Edochie, has taken to social media to address a certain ‘drama devil’ who snatched her in-law, Yul Edochie, from his wife.
The thespian, who has been very vocal about her support for Yul’s first wife, May, following his marriage to his second wife, Judy Austin, demanded that the ‘drama devil’ releases him from her influence.
Speaking about herself, Rita stated that no one can snatch her husband from her because they will face severe consequences as she is a formidable person, describing herself as “the fear that fear fears”.

A Nigerian woman has taken to social media to share her marital agony after her spouse began cheating on her.
She said in a Facebook post that she is considering divorce since her husband stated that he never intended to marry her because she is a graduate and wants to control him.
According to Gloria, her spouse is a high school graduate and their marriage was great at first but he began changing suddenly.
She wrote;
“I am five years in marriage and we have two children, I am a graduate and I am working, my husband is a sec school cert and he has hand work but that’s not a problem for me I love my husband, we had a very beautiful beginning and lots of good plans for the future but all of a sudden I noticed that my husband is beginning to cheat on me.

A UK-based Nigerian doctor has reportedly lost custody of his 16-year-old son after physically beating him with a belt.
According to a child advocate who shared the story after attending the court proceeding, the Nigerian doctor disciplined his son when he caught him watching an inappropriate video with his friends who were visiting their house for a sleep-over.
The boy’s friends reportedly called the police, who then took him away. They also informed the police that while flogging his son, the doctor repeatedly told him, “Is this how you’ll become a doctor?”
During the court proceedings, the 16-year-old testified that his father frequently subjects him to corporal punishment and is pressuring him to pursue a career he doesn’t want.
After considering the boy’s testimony, the court ruled in favor of taking him away from his father’s custody, placing him under the care of the UK government.

Nigerian content creator, Ogechi Nkonu, popularly known as Caramel Plug, has reportedly arrested the vendor who accused her of receiving free cloth and not giving credit on social media.
The vendor, identified as Ruchy, had claimed that Caramel received a dress from her for free and promised to give her credit, but failed to do so. She also shared screenshots of her purported chat with the skit maker as evidence.
However, the accusation was proven false when the actual vendor, Layi, stepped forward with proof, including her chat with Caramel where they discussed and finalized the dress purchase, along with the payment receipt. Read here

Nigerian superstar singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has unfollowed his logistics manager, Isreal DMW, on Instagram.
This comes after Isreal apologized to the Muslim community on Davido’s behalf over a controversial video he had posted.
A few days ago, Davido took to his Twitter page to share a snippet of a music video to promote his new signee, Logos Olori.
The ‘Jaye Lo’ music video sparked massive outrage among Nigerian Muslims due to its content featuring men dressed in Jalamiya, an Islamic outfit, praying and dancing in front of a mosque. Many saw the video as a mockery of their religion and criticized Davido for it.
In response to the criticism, Davido eventually bowed to pressure and deleted the video without offering an apology.
To pacify the offended Muslims, Davido’s aide, Isreal DMW, took to his Instagram story to issue an apology on his boss’s behalf.
Isreal DMW explained that the ‘Jaye Lo’ clip was purely for entertainment purposes but was wrongly presented. He further declared his love for all Muslims.
“Let me specially apologize to my Muslim brothers and sisters for the video my oga posted. It was an entertainment effort that was wrongly presented. Please don’t be upset. Love you all,” he wrote.
Following this, a check on Davido’s Instagram page revealed that he has unfollowed Isreal. However, the reason for the unfollowing remains unclear.
A Nigerian boy who initially claimed that Nigerian superstar singer, Davido, helped him has now retracted his statement.
The boy had gone viral a few days ago after he took to social media to celebrate, claiming he received a message from the 30 BG boss.

A US-based Liberian woman, Agnes Johnson, has publicly confronted her husband, Abu Sanoe, for marrying another woman in Africa without her knowledge.
Taking to Facebook, Agnes shared photos of her husband and his new wife, Mabanace Hawa Kamara, who resides in Monrovia.
While congratulating him sarcastically, Agnes appreciated God for revealing the truth to her.

The traditional ruler was aboard a tricycle (Keke Napep) when a liquor-laden truck, with registration number EPE 252 XF, ran over the tricycle near Living Faith Church.
Unfortunately, the monarch lost his life on the spot while trying to alight from the tricycle.
Both the spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, Florence Okpe, and the spokesperson for the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, have confirmed the tragedy.
“Yes, it is true. There was an accident in the area today and it recorded a casualty. I was informed of the incident today,” Akinbiyi stated.
“Corps Commander and Chief Executive Officer of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency commiserates with the Kabiyesi’s family and entire inhabitants of the community,” he added.
A first-class Oba in Ogun West confirmed the incident to newsmen and expressed deep sadness over the fact that the monarch chose to commute in a tricycle instead of using a personal car.
There are speculations that Oba Bankole might have resorted to using a tricycle due to the hike in the pump price of petrol.
However, the spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, Florence Okpe, stated that she was yet to be fully briefed by the FRSC in Ota Unit regarding the details of the incident.
The remains of the monarch have been deposited at the General Hospital, Ota, while the truck involved in the accident was moved from the road by police officers.
A geologist, identified simply as Derek, has tragically ended his life after his girlfriend allegedly left him for someone else.

A married lady has taken to social media to seek public opinion as she shares her heartbreaking story of how her husband robbed her of ownership of the store he built for her as it began to develop immensely.
She stated that after they married, her husband opened a store for her and informed her that she was doing it as a family business.
According to the lady who understood the clothing line company, she subsequently told him more about the business and he continued to invest in it.
She said that when the business began to thrive, he began to give him ownership and, in the end, entirely cut her off when the firm began to generate more revenue.
She wrote;
“So my hubby opened a boutique for me when we got married, after work he comes there and stays with me, I later taught him the business and told him to add male wears for me and he did, he invested 100percent in the business, I didn’t bring any money. But he said he was opening it for me as a family business
In the long run when he saw how I have built customer base and the money I was making, he started investing more in the business, expanded the business and somehow started giving me ownership attitude and started acting like I was competing with him to be the boss in the business.
Long story short , he even stopped me from taking a dime, even if it’s to buy a bag of water, I must tell his sales girls to record, any time I ask for money, he will say I want to run him down financially, So I decided to look for a job
I got a job that pays 150k but I miss my business so bad, he has now cut me off the business completely, he has girls that do everything, from the WhatsApp marketing I do , to the stock taking, to accounting, he has put structures in place , now I feel like a stranger when I come to pick the kids from the shop(school bus drops them off at the shop)
Now he just travelled and I just got to the shop , expecting as usual to be the one to do accounting in his place while I instruct the girls but he just called me that he told the girls to tie all the daily money and keep somewhere, when he’s back after 3 weeks , he will do accounting.
Am in tears now , because what in the name of trust issues is this , this has never happened, I always do accounting when he travels and tells him when the girls didn’t account for some money. Now I feel like he just called me a criminal in front of the girls
And he expect me to just sit down and be looking at them work and close the shop with them at night
Am really hurt, should I stop going to the shop for this 3 weeks he will be away?
I see this my husband like someone who can surprise me at anytime.

Nigerian president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s son,Seyi Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his father is the President they have been waiting for.
Sharing a video on his social media page, Seyi appreciated the citizens of the country for their support as he guarantees Nigerians that the ‘hope’ they have been looking for was here.
In his words;
“I want to say thank you for the faith you have in our president and I guarantee you, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not fail. Nigeria, the hope we’ve been looking for and hoping for is here. The president that we’ve all wanted is here, I guarantee you my brother.”
His assurance did not sit well with netizens who lamented that he spoke from a place privilege without understanding what the common man was facing currently.

Former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has remarked that it is unwise for Davido to listen to an atheist like Professor Wole Soyinka who advised him not to apologize to Muslims who are offended by one of his signees’ music videos.
Davido was recently called out for sharing a music video by his new signee, Logos Olori, which received harsh criticism from Muslims who found its content offensive and disrespectful.
The controversial video depicted men dressed in white ‘jalabiya’ praying and dancing in front of a mosque.
Muslim believers were deeply upset by the video, considering it disrespectful to their religion, Islam.
In response to the outrage, Davido eventually took down the video from his Twitter account but did not apologize to the Muslim community.
However, in a statement on Tuesday, Soyinka threw his weight behind the 30BG boss.
Rising to defend Davido, Nobel Laureate, Wole Soyinka in a statement released, accused former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El Rufai of making derogatory comments against Christians in the past but was never asked to apologize.
He also noted that it wasn’t Davido’s music that lynched Deborah Yakubu, a second-year Christian college student who was killed by a mob of Muslim students in Sokoto last year over alleged blasphemy. He averred that he sees no basis for Davido to apologize to Muslims.
Reacting to Soyinka’s comment, Reno via his Instagram page wrote;
“It would be very unwise for Davido to take the counsel of an atheist like Professor Wole Soyinka, who is telling him he owes no apology to Muslims, over the video for the song jaye lo. This is a man who does not believe in God. How can he then know how people who believe in God feel?
Islam belongs to Muslims, who assert that they received it from God. It is not for an atheist or a Christian or any practitioner of another religion other than Islam to tell them how to feel when their faith is used in ways they disapprove of.
Is this not the same Professor Wole Soyinka who, just two weeks ago, on July 7, 2023, condemned the Emir of Ilorin for stopping an Osun priestess, Yeye Ajesikemi Omolara, from holding an Isese festival in Ilorin and demanded redress for Osun worshippers? So, why is he now against redress for Muslims?
Nigerians need to remember that this is the same Wole Soyinka who, on May 8, 2023, boasted that Peter Obi apologised to him in person over the attacks on his person by Obidients. Yet, he is here counselling Davido not to apologise to Muslims over a video they consider sacrilegious.
Christians have also previously taken offence with movies and music that, in our view, are sacrilegious about the person of our Lord and Saviour. These include the movies The First Temptation of Christ and The Last Temptation of Christ. We collectively boycotted these movies and demanded an apology and their recall. We were also upset when Mallam Nasir El-Rufai made a crude joke about our Lord and Saviour. How will we feel if a Muslim celebrity comes out to say we do not deserve any apology for those movies and jokes?
In Mark 12:31, our Lord told us to love our neighbour as ourselves. Muslims are our neighbours. They joined us in condemning El-Rufai when he made his crude Jesus joke. They united with us in asking him to apologise. Under pressure from both Christians and Muslims, El-Rufai apologised.
Deleting the offending video is a first step for which I commend Davido. Apologising will put the matter to an end and assuage the hurt feelings of Muslims.
An elder should be known for putting out fires, not for adding fuel to flames.”
Content creator, Caramel Plug is currently trending on Twitter after being called out by a cloth vendor for allegedly receiving free clothes but failing to give credit.
This comes days after she was heavily criticized for not disclosing the name of a Nigerian brand she wore to an event, despite openly mentioning the foreign designers of her shoe and bag.
Following the incident, a vendor came out to claim Caramel bought the dress from her and promised to give her credit, but failed to do so.
She also accused the skit maker of promising to credit her on social media in exchange for free dresses but not following through.
Ruchy shared a purported evidence of their conversations to support her claim, highlighting an instance when Caramel tagged the Spanish fashion brand, Zara, instead of crediting her for the dress she received for free.

This sparked a huge controversy on social media, with many berating Caramel for allegedly living a fake life online.
Amidst the ongoing drama, another vendor named Layi came forward to contradict the first vendor’s claim.
Layi shared screenshots of her chat with Caramel, including the payment receipt, as proof of their transaction.
She also clarified that customers who buy clothes from her are not obliged to tag her brand on social media since they have fully paid for the product.
She wrote,

A mild confrontation ensued between Big Brother Naija housemates, Alex Asogwa and CeeC, during the preparation for their upcoming wager task in the All-Stars edition.
The duo, who were rivals during the ‘Double Wahala’ season in 2018, seem to still have lingering beef as they flared up at a slight issue this afternoon, July 26.
During the task brainstorming session, Alex pointed out that some of the housemates were not actively contributing to the task, and would come and criticize their ideas without offering a better alternative.
While it’s unclear if Alex was specifically referring to CeeC, the latter took it personally and confronted Alex for her comments.
This led to a heated argument, with both ladies exchanging harsh words and raining insults on each other.
The incident has sparked conflicting reactions from viewers of the show, with some taking CeeC’s side while others supported Alex.

A newly engaged woman, identified as Yesim Demir, 39, fell to her death from a cliff just moments after her boyfriend, Nizamettin Gursu, proposed to her on July 6.
The couple was at a romantic cliffside spot in Turkey, enjoying the sunset after Gursu’s proposal. He then went back to the car to get food and drinks to celebrate their engagement, when he heard a deafening scream.
Gursu rushed back to the spot and to his horror, found that his fiancée had fallen approximately 104 feet off the cliff’s edge. He immediately called for help, but despite 45 minutes of resuscitation efforts, the medics declared Yesim Demir dead.
Friends of the deceased told local media that the cliff, situated in Polente Cape, Canakkale, was a popular spot where many people came to admire the breathtaking view, but sadly, there is no safety measures in place.
‘This is a place where everyone comes and watches the sunset,’ they said. ‘However, the roads are very bad and there is no precaution on the edge of the cliff. A fence should be drawn here, precautions should be taken.’
Gursu told local media:
‘We chose it to have a romantic memory after the proposal. We drank some alcohol.
‘Everything happened at once. She lost her balance and fell down.’
Following the incident, the authorities immediately closed off the area and launched an investigation, with access to the cliff restricted until July 15, when controlled entry was permitted once more.
Big Brother Naija All-Stars housemate, Uriel Oputa has threatened to cause a scene if she is evicted from the show on Sunday.
The fitness enthusiast and chef made it clear that she does not want to evicted early from the competition during her first diary session with Biggie on Tuesday, July 25.
She boldly stated that she would be the first housemate in the history of the reality TV show to refuse eviction.
Her statement came in response to Biggie’s question about which housemate she believes will be evicted first on Sunday.
“Who do you think is leaving on Sunday?” Biggie asked.
In her response, the ever-dramatic reality TV star said,
“I pray it is not me because you will be needing 25 ninjas to carry me out. I will not go. I will be the first housemate in Big Brother Naija history to reject eviction. Not my portion.”

Nollywood actress, Georgina Onuoha, has accused her colleague Eniola Badmus of kidnapping and intimidating a young Nigerian lady who defamed her.
Recall that the lady, a TikToker identified as Ego, made a viral video where she alleged that Eniola Badmus is a professional pimp who connects young ladies to politicians.
Ego further alleged that the actress had attempted to set up one of her friends with a politician at some point.
Subsequently, Eniola revealed in a social media update on Monday that she had effected the arrest of Ego over the defamatory video.
Following this disclosure, Georgina Onuoha took to her Instagram page to criticize the arrest, noting that it amounted to an abuse of power and intimidation on Eniola’s part.
She urged Eniola to use the law diligently and not oppressively because of her fame and proximity to power.
According to her, defamation is not a criminal offense that warrants an arrest.
“In any functioning society, if someone defames you, it is within your rights to seek damages done to your reputation. What she did was wrong and defamatory. Eniola @eniola_badmus your next line of action will be to sue her for defamation and seek restitution.
Arresting her means you are equally breaking the law. Slander or defamation is not a criminal offense that warrants arrest and parading this young woman like a criminal. Yes she defamed you, sue her for damages. This is abuse of power and intimidation on your part. Use the law diligently and not oppressively because of your proximity to power and fame.
Shame on the police officers indulging in this nonsense. @eniola_badmus. You are within your rights to sue her for defamation and damages done to your person and name. Arresting means you are equally abusing the law. Right of speech is her right as well as yours. If she threatened your person and wished you bodily harm, then you are within your legal rights to get her arrested for your safety.
This power play or show is laughable and beneath you. Let it go now and take her to court. Stop parading her like a criminal. @benjaminhundeyin your men should not be engaging in such ineptitude. If she is sued and refuses to show up to court, then the judge could order her arrest for contempt of court and law. This is abuse of power and the police should not be used as a weapon of intimidation.
We are in a democracy and the rule of law must prevail over personal grievances. This is tantamount to kidnapping by @eniola_badmus and members of the police force. He who seeks equity must come with clean hands.
Meaning that a party seeking equitable relief must be willing to fulfil their own obligations and act equitably themselves.” She wrote.
Davido’s personal logistics manager, Israel Afeare better known as Israel DMW, has issued an apology to the Muslim community for the controversial video posted by his boss.
It’s no news that Davido has been receiving heat on social media over the promotional video snippet he shared for his new signee, Logos Olori.
Recall that the video sparked outrage among Muslims in Nigeria due to its content featuring men dressed in Jalamiya, an Islamic outfit, praying and dancing in front of a mosque.
They trooped to social media to express their displeasure with the singer, and ordered him to take down to video and tender an apology to them.
Following the criticism he received, Davido eventually bowed to pressure and deleted the video, howbeit without offering an apology.
His aide, Israel DMW has now taken the initiative to apologize on behalf of his boss, asserting that it was an innocent video and they didn’t expect it to cause such an uproar.
He wrote on his Instastory,
“Let me specially apologise to my Muslims brothers and sisters, on the video my oga posted, as a result of him wanting to lift up somebody, which is one of his hubbies. It was purely an entertainment effort wrongly presented.
