Finally, popular AOP, Moet Abebe has put a lid on claims that she ended things with boyfriend Monk Chief, by posting a new clip of them yesterday, but she offered no explanation on why she deleted all of his precious photos form her page, or why Monk Chief himself has no memory of her on his social media.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BDV8uh3hhH_/
Last November, the OAP who had been preciously engaged showed off upcoming singer, Monk Chief (real name Chris Ojeme) as her new ‘bae.’ They made their red carpet debut at last year’s edition of Rhythm Unplugged, and have shared intimate photos on their pages until recently when they were all taken down.
Now, Moet is back to sharing their moments, and we hope the relationship is here to stay!
Reekado Banks surely knows how to respect the elders..
Yesterday, Nigerian Twitter was swept in a raging debate kicked off by a Reekadict who felt that the Mavin singer was a much better artist that Wizkid. But Reekado Banks has just set the records straight.
“Let me clear the air real quick. Wizkid isn’t only my mentor but one of the GREATS who have paved way for the young ones like me,” Reekado Banks tweeted yesterday, adding, “Please dont disrespect Wizkid by comparing him to me wey just dey start abeg.”
Let me clear the air real quick. Wizkid isnt only my mentor but one of the GREATS who have paved way for the young ones like me… (1)
And this is not the first time the ‘Katapot’ singer is being compared to other artiste. In January, after he won the Headies Next rated category, beating the likes of Cynthia Morgan and Lil Kesh, fans took to social media to make unhealthy comparisons between him and Lil Kesh, deepening the rivalry between the Mavin and YBNL record label.
Well, Banks has shut down this new debate, but we know it won’t be long before his Reekadicts return with yet another comparison.
The Managing director of Lekki Garden Homes Richard Nyong, has been granted bail on self-recognition by a Magistrate Court in Ebute Metta, Lagos State.
Nyong was arraigned by the Lagos State government for the collapse of a five storey building in Lekki that resulted in the loss of over 30 lives.
His company, Lekki Gardens was in charge of the construction of the building before the fatal collapse on Tuesday, March 8.
Lagos State officials say preliminary findings reveal that the collapsed building exceeded the maximum number of floors approved by authorities.
Also, Chief Magistrate Afolashade Botoku, granted bail to Taiwo Odofin, one of the contractors in the project, in the sum of N10 million with two sureties in like sum.
Botoku, who decried the attitude of the authorities in handling the case, ordered them to report at the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti-Yaba, everyday till the police complete their investigations.
She also said that the defendants would submit their international passports and were not permitted to travel out of the country till the conclusion of the case.
Botoku had on March 11 ordered the remand of Nyong and Taiwo when they were arraigned following a remand application brought before it by the police.
Singer, 9ice apparently still has some beef with top blogger Linda Ikeji.
In 2013, the Alapomeji singer called out Linda and some other blogs after they uploaded his songs for free. Linda has in turn stated that 9ice would have to pay for her to upload his song and that was when he lashed out at her. He called Linda a nobody, saying “Where was Linda Ikeji when I was out with my first album, Linda Ikeji who are you? I don’t even know her? Linda Ikeji if you are expecting a dime from me, fa fa fa foul. You pay me before you upload my music.”
Now the singer has thrown another major shade at the blogger in his new song, At the Moment.
In the song, which was uploaded on YouTube yesterday, 9ice talked about how Linda Ikeji’s wealth was gotten from retired army officer, Dasuki. He sang, “At the moment I want more prosperity I dey feel like Linda Ikeji, many money wey dey come from Dasuki.”
A few months back, Linda Ikeji was involved in the Dasukigate scandal where she was accused of being paid N240m from Sambo Dasuki even though she later debunked the allegations.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has advised UNILAG’s record breaking graduate, Ayodele Dada, to be careful with money, women and alcohol.
Dogara gave the advise while speaking with Dada who paid a visit to members of the House of Rep chambers on Wednesday, March 23.
“We don’t have money to give you, but what we are going to do is not only intended to inspire you, but to encourage other students. Now as a role model, you must be very careful with money, women and alcohol. If you allow them get into you, all these things we are saying today would end up as nothing.” he said.
The House of Representative few days ago disclosed that it will honour Mr. Ayodele Daniel Dada, a graduate of the University of Lagos, Akoka, who passed out with a 5.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).
Now they’ve and here are the photos;
Cool FM presenter, Freeze, was the first to publicly call for Ayodele, who is said to be the only Nigerian graduate in about 54 years to have acquired a perfect CGPA, to be celebrated.
Dada has received a lot of acknowledgements, as a result of his accomplishment.
They include the UNILAG VC’s prize, UNILAG Dean’s prize, UNILAG Parent Forum prize, Tony Elumelu Legacy prize, the UNILAG Alumni Association prize, the late Eni Njoku Academic prize, Prof Tolu Odugbemu prize, and the late Prof. Adetokunbo Sofoluwe prize.
Finally, Binta Diamond has released the first photos of her son with Wizkid who she named after the singer, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun Jr.
“On January 15, 2016 I gave birth to my amazing son,” the new mum said, adding, “Words cannot explain how much I love this little man.”
In another post, she described what she feels for her boy. It’s “love at first sight”, she said.
Recall that after Diamond announced the birth of her boy, it caused media furore which worsened after she granted an interview to The Shade Room, saying that Wizkid is a deadbeat dad who has refused to meet his son.
Well, it is unclear if the ‘Ojuelegba’ singer has accepted to take responsibility, and in a recent interview, he refused to address that question.
We are not quite certain though but it looks as if Gorgeous Nollywood actress, Toyin Aimakhu‘s estranged husband, Adeniyi Johnson, just threw a shade at her new reality TV show which she announced few days ago, ‘Keeping Up with Toyin Aimakhu‘.
The actor posted a selfie of himself and gave it caption:
Of all your strategies and struggles what have u achieved? Man proposes only God disposes man’s plan…. I’m a man with God that’s why he keeps keeping me…… DON’T LOSE A CROWN RUNNING AFTER A WIG…Wigs fade in little time but Crown is eternal and gives dignity. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) made use of the wrong grading software to mark the 2016/2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), Association of Tutorial School Operators (ATSO) has alleged.
ATSO claimed that the error was responsible for the poor and conflicting results that were released by the board for the examination written between February 27 and March 17 in over 500 centres nationwide.
Speaking in Lagos on Wednesday, March 23, President of the group, Mr Shodunke Oludotun said the board used the software from last year to grade this year’s examination.
Oladotun also called for the resignation of the JAMB Registrar, Prof ‘Dibu Ojerinde.
Oludotun said: “We have our evidence to show that virtually all the candidates we have collected results of 2015/2016 and not of 2016/2017.
“This year, Prof Dibu Ojerinde advertised 2016/2017 UTME – we all saw it. During his press conference, he also mentioned 2016/2017. During the exam, the students on their monitor, it displayed 2016/2017. Why is it that the result that was sent to the students showed 2015/2016?
“From our findings from insiders in JAMB, we realized that the software of 2015/2016 interfered with the 2016/2017, which led to the massive failure of the students. If you can see the trend of results from (February) 27 to 29, the students failed; (March) 7-15, the students failed massively.
“But we noticed that the 27-29 were compensated with 40 marks still under the interference of software. We can see that the 2015/2016 software was used to mark, that was why the students were receiving 2015/2016 results. So where is 2016/2017 result? That is what we are asking Prof Dibu Ojerinde…We are saying that Prof Dibu Ojerinde should step aside.”
He called for Ojerinde to step aside so someone else would build on the foundation he has laid to conduct hitch free examinations.
JAMB’s Director of Media and Public Relations, Dr. Fabian Benjamin has responded by saying focus should be on the programming and not the marking guide.
“I am not a programmer, but I can confirm to you that JAMB does not joke with its template. What happened with the 40 marks issue is because the scripts were marked based on 250 marks because only English Language is 100 while the other three papers carry 50 marks, making a total of 250.
“So when the first results were released, they were calculated based on 250, and after normalization we felt it would not be ideal for us to cheat on the candidates. So we had to quickly send them their real scores,” Benjamin stated.
Hyper-realistic painter, Oresegun Olumide, whose art works broke the internet few weeks ago, (See here) has shared why he loves to use water to give translucent effects on his paintings.
ENCOMIUM Weekly had an interview with the 35 year old creative artist on Saturday, March 12, 2016, and he talked about many issues, including his forthcoming exhibition, wedding plan and much more.
How do you feel about your painting gaining huge attention on social media?
I really want to thank God for taking me this far. I can’t just thank Him enough. I’m so happy.
What does painting mean to you?
It’s a passion. It’s something that I have within myself, my lifestyle, so I can tell you it’s in me.
What stands your designs out?
When you are doing a particular work, which has not been encouraging, all you need is to keep pushing till you attain your desire. The zeal and passion with hard work are the things that stand me out.
What do you cherish most about your drawing?
Every day I get to learn new things, I don’t stop learning. I love to acquire knowledge. The fact that everyone around me appreciates and encourages me to do more are the things that I cherish most.
How did you feel being a celebrated artists right now?
I feel honoured. I must say that it makes me feel great because this is something that I love and I have been doing over the years and all of a sudden, I got celebrated even up to international standard. It’s amazing. I think that’s happiness.
How did you start out as an artist?
I actually went to Yaba College of Technology to study Art, just like any other field. I know what I want and I have been striving hard to be a recognized artist.
So, can we say you acquired it or it’s a special talent from God?
It has been a talent from God right from my childhood, but I just needed to acquire more skills to develop the talent God has deposited in me. Everyone has his/her own gift from God, but as much as we can develop the skill to exhibit the talent makes one better.
How did you develop it to have attained this level?
Let me just say it has been the Lord’s doing. In as much as I have been passionate about my work, God has really helped me to where I am today and I believe He is still taking me to a higher ground.
What does it take to be good a artist?
Being a good artist has a lot to do with passion. To achieve a unique, attractive and good looking painting, one must be passionate about the job.
How many years have you been in the career and what has been your experience so far?
I have been painting from my childhood, but I have been working tirelessly in the last 8 years which is the major experience I have so far.
What are your peculiar challenges as an artist?
One of the major challenges is financial instability, I believe every artist has faced it but I just don’t have to let that draw me back. I have been going through financial challenges while I was still in school (Yabatech) and it was even tough after I graduated. But I’m happy to tell you now that I have overcome those challenges.
Have you taken your drawing outside the country?
Yes, I have had a couple of exhibitions outside Nigeria, some are outstanding. As I speak to you, in Germany, Brazil, France, etc. So far, I had a successful exhibition in Nigeria at Midrin Art Gallery in 2011 and 2014 and I’m already working towards the third one. When I have the venue, date and every other information, I will let you know.
What inspires your painting about children playing with water, the village setting and natural painting methods?
I have so many things that inspire my painting. When I look back, a lot has happened. For me, the best way to say what I feel within myself is painting. You will agree with me that life is full of ups and downs. Some are happy, while others are not. In my own case, I have learnt to collate all these experiences to do my painting.
What does the water you often use in your drawing denote?
Every human being makes use of water everyday but I feel we don’t get to appreciate water enough. We use water every day and we can’t do without water, this is why my painting tends to look beyond how people see water.
Which is the most expensive drawing you sold?
I can’t really say because I have done a lot of drawings and they were all appreciated worldwide.
What is the average price of your drawing?
All I can say about that is that I don’t have an average price, but my next exhibition will reveal all you need to know about that.
How long does it take to complete a painting?
It takes a month or two, depending on how you want it.
Tell us about yourself, family, marriage…
I’m the second born in the family of four. I have three brothers and I’m happy to tell you that I will be getting married in couple of months. My life is simple as you can imagine.
Tell us about your bride to be?
I think that is personal, let’s leave that for now. When the time comes, you will know.

The woman with the world’s longest dreadlocks has found love with a hair stylist whose massive dreadlocks rivals her own.
Real-life ‘Rasta-Rapunzel‘, Asha Mandela, has locks that measure a lengthy 55ft – longer than a London bus.
Now the 50-year-old, from Florida, has found a match made in heaven with new husband, Emmanuel Chege, a qualified hair stylist from Kenya. Asha said:
‘It’s really added spice in the bedroom and it does not get in the way of anything at all. ‘There are times when my hair will be on the bed with us and we can use it for whatever or we put it on the floor if we want it out of the way.’
Asha and Emmanuel met online three years ago after he was struck by pictures of her famous dreadlocks on hair websites.
He decided to contact Asha, and when she visited Kenya on business eight months later, the chemistry between them was undeniable. A whirlwind romance followed, and within eight months of meeting, Asha and Emmanuel were married in America.
Now, almost two years later, Asha has entrusted the care of her precious dreads solely to Emmanuel.
Emmanuel, who has worked as a hair stylist for 15 years, spends his days lovingly grooming Asha’s three-stone dreadlocks.Asha, who owns her own hair product business, was told by doctors her dreadlocks would paralyse her if she kept on growing them as the weight of her hair is affecting her back.
They take two days to wash and dry and require full-time care and Emmanuel devotes countless hours to their upkeep. He is also growing his own dreadlocks and hopes to become the male record holder in the future.
Asha said:
‘My husband helps me with everything with my hair. I’m so spoilt since he’s been taking care of it and I’ve
got totally lazy.
‘He will massage my scalp, groom my hair or twist or wash it. He does a really good job of taking care of it so that’s a plus.’
The couple have talked about having children in the future, and hope their child will continue their dreadlocks legacy.
Asha said:
‘If we are blessed with children, no comb is going to go on their head. ‘There will be locks straight from birth, however long that takes to come in. ‘If we going to be lucky enough to be blessed with a child, it’s going to be a cute little Rasta baby.’
A man identified as David Enyinna Chuks has cried after fraudsters continued to use his pictures to defraud women.
The victim wrote:
“Good evening, I am David Enyinnaya Chuks and that’s my name on Facebook too. Recently, someone has been impersonating me using my recent pictures to defraud women. He or she will make them fall in love with him, thereby making them believe they are talking to the guy in the pics.
He only ends up asking them for money after making most of them fall in love with him. He will simply lie to them that his mom is sick and needs urgent attention and some of them, out of love, will send huge money to him. Please help me publish so that it will go viral incase he or she tries to impersonate me again. .
.He has scammed a lot of people already. I wont like a situation whereby I come back to Nigeria and get arrested for what I didn’t do. Please help me. Just last week alone, 4-5 friends complained to me that they saw my pics with different names as someone that they may know on Facebook timeline.
Please help post this so that these women wont be scammed again. Some of them are already in love with my pics but with the wrong individual. This is really bad. I want the general public to know so that they can help me spread the news on Facebook and other social media. My real facebook name is David Enyinnaya Chuks. Thanks and God bless
The Code of Conduct Tribunal has dismissed an application by the senate president, Bukola Saraki, for false asset declaration charges against him to be dropped.
Saraki’s lawyer, Kanu Agabi, had argued that the 13-count charge was invalid procedurally because the Code of Conduct Bureau which filed the charges, failed to allow Mr. Saraki explain discrepancies in his assets declaration forms as required by law.
But in his ruling Thursday, the chairman of the tribunal, Danladi Umar, said there was no breach of law as the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act, 1989, still allows the senate president raise his clarifications at the level of the tribunal.
Mr. Danladi said by law, the CCB could receive complaints of breach of the Act and refer such complaints to the Tribunal, provided that it will allow the person involved to give a statement affirming or denying the said misconduct.
He therefore ordered the continuation of the trial.
Saraki had earlier lost his bid to stop the trial after the the Supreme Court dismissed his initial objections.

It’s been almost to a year since Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau made an appearance. It was reported by many that the leader was dead, even some reported that he had fled..
But as of today, 24th of March, 2016, a video by the Leadership, shows the kingpin, Abubakar Shekau who was rumoured to have been killed, advising his followers to “surrender to save themselves”.
Shekau in the video below appeared to have surrendered to constant bombardments by the Nigerian army troops.
Shekau who spoke in Arabic for most part of the video, did not cut the angry, bloodthirsty maniac yelling “kill, kill, kill ” in grainy videos, common in the heydays of the terrorist group.
But more remarkably he apologised for some of the insurgent group’s actions. According to him he has listened to the plea from true believers. He subsequently ended the speech with: “May God forgive us our sins.”

Abducted students returning to school in uniform yesterday.
The management of Babington Junior Seminary, Ikorodu, has said one of the suspects arrested in connection with the kidnapping of the three students has asked the school to pray for him.
