Two Nigerians were brutally beaten with cricket and baseball bats by a group of 12 men after one of them scolded a boy for hurling a water-filled balloon at him in New Delhi on Sunday, March 20, local media reports.
The victims, Evwrirhe Isaac, a football coach with a soccer club in Gulmohar Bagh, and his roommate, Abdul are yet to return to their house in Dwaka Mor since the incident because they have been receiving threatening calls.
“We are so scared⌠we are staying in my friendâs home and planning to leave this area. But we will fight and will try to get justice,” said Isaac.
Most of the residents told police they were not at home at the time of the attack, others claimed they knew nothing about it,
“We have registered a case under several appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code at Uttam Nagar police station and efforts are on to nab the accused,â Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Pushpendra Kumar told the newspaper.
Isaac said he was on his way to the market when a boy hurled a water-filled balloon at him. This angered Isaac and he caught hold of the boy and scolded him. He left the boy with a shopkeeper. Once he left, the boy’s brother arrived at the shop and the shopkeepers told him what happened.
“Within minutes, some people knocked on my door and began shouting. They then barged inside, ransacked my home and assaulted me and my roommate Aliyu Abdul,” said Isaac.
“They were hitting me⌠I pleaded with them to spare my life. I somehow managed to free myself and ran towards the balcony. They chased me and pushed me from the second floor of the building,” he added.
Speaking of the incident, his roommate Abdul said, “I kept telling them that I was not with Isaac during the incident, but they did not stop.â
Isaac claimed police registered a case only after senior officers intervened. “I went to the police station and requested them to help me out, but they refused to help, saying there was a strike going on in a government hospital, so they could not take me anywhere,” he added.
Isaac, who have been in India for eight years and has played for leading football clubs, said:
“I have been living in Dwarka for three years in a rented accomodation. I am used to people passing racist remarks, I have always ignored them. But what happened with us on Sunday was something beyond racism. We were beaten up so badly—we could have been killed.”
The hacking group Anonymous issued a declaration against ISIS that it will increase its cyber attacks on the terror group after the terror attacks in Brussels, Belgium.
The group released its so-called ‘Op Brussels’ yesterday in which it vowed to continue ‘hacking their websites, shutting down their Twitter accounts and stealing their Bitcoins’.
The speaker in the Anonymous video said:
‘We have silenced thousands of Twitter accounts directly linked to ISIS. We severely punish Daesh on the dark net, hacked their electronic portfolio and stolen money from the terrorists.’
‘We have laid siege to your propaganda websites, tested them with our cyber attacks, however we will not rest as long as terrorists continue their actions around the world.
‘We will strike back against them… we will defend the rights of freedom and tolerance.’
They made a similar threat after the Paris attack but the terror group didn’t take them seriously. ISIS’s online unit, the Islamic Cyber Army, hit back, branding the group ‘idiots’ and declaring: ‘What they gonna hackâŚall they can do is hacking twitter accounts, emails, etc.’
ISIS militants use a number of encrypted messaging services, email providers, and GPS blockers to communicate under the radar.

A 17 year old girl from Wisconsin, Braeley Pettigrew, got an unexpected surprise when she went to use the toilet on Tuesday morning in her home and gave birth to a baby boy.
According to WDJT Pettigrew said she had no idea she was pregnant.
She said she thought she was having a bowel movement, so ran to the toilet, but after what she thought was a bowel movement, she looked down and saw that a baby was in the toilet. She became scared, cut the umbilical cord and wrapped the baby up.
Pettigrew took the infant to her mom and told her that someone had left the baby on the porch, but when her mom noticed blood on the teenâs clothes, she called the police.
The teen and baby were rushed to the hospital where the child was taken straight to the NIC-U. Both mom and baby are doing well.
Pettigrew said:
âI never thought I would be having a baby at 17, but my first instinct was to get him out of the toilet and wrap him up to keep him warm,â.
She made up the story about the infant been abandoned because she was afraid her mom would be upset and she didn’t want to disappoint her mum. She decided to keep the baby and named him Kayden.

Emeka Ike is now the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, following a court ruling that stripped actress, Ibinabo Fiberesima, of her position.
She was removed from the position after a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos ruled on March 23, 2016, that Ike will now take the rein of power after a long legal battle.
Femi Durojaiye, the National Secretary of the AGN, made this known in a statement that reads:
“The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, this morning 23/3/2016 at the application and argument of Counsel to Actors Guild of Nigeria, Barr. Peter Andor Oboyi, struck out Ibinaboâs and BOT suit challenging the nullification of her election to the Presidency of AGN and also challenging the legitimacy of the Presidency of Emeka Ike and his Exco. The implication of this judgement is that Engr. Emeka Ike led Exco remain the only authentic and lawful leaders of Actors Guild of Nigeria,”
The court decision came after eight months of contest over the rightful leader of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
It also came at the heels of a Lagos High Court sentencing of Fiberesima to 5 years in prison for reckless driving that resulted in the death of Dr. Giwa Suraj.
The new AGN President, Emeka Ike, is one of the old actors in Nollywood. He is reported to have featured in over 60 movies.

Ondo State Police Command has arrested two siblings who allegedly buried alive two persons â Igbekele Orisabinole and Ogbaro Erinbo.
The victims were accused of stealing N130,000 belonging to the suspectsâ mother, Mrs. Ogunnuga.
The suspects â Omoniyi Alaleran and Oluwaseun EEnikuomehin, committed the offence on Omonira Street, Igbokoda, in the Ilaje Local Government Area on March 12, 2016.
It was gathered that Ogunnuga lost a sum of N130,000 and accused Erinbo and Orisabunole of stealing the money. She informed her two children, who tortured the duo to release the missing money.
The deceased duo reportedly denied commiting the crime, which was not accepted by their accusers.
After many hours of torture, the suspects allegedly took the victims inside a bush, dug a pit and pushed them inside it and covered the pit up to their necks.
The PPRO explained that the matter was being handled by the Special Investigative Bureau.

How do you feel winning your first award as an actor?
I feel so grateful to God Almighty, my family, fans and most especially Funke Akindele, CEO Scene One Production for giving me the opportunity to showcase my talent, believe me sincerely, I never believed I could win because the category for the Best act in a comedy, movie or TV series was a keen one because other people in the category are talented and have been in the field before me.
With winning your first Africa Magic Viewerâs choice Award, are you going to consider taking acting fully?
If the roles keep coming, I will definitely act, I canât leave my music. I can only combine both together and make things work out without disturbing each other. I am positive that more awards will come before the end of the year.
As a graduate of Law and a qualified Barrister, what inspired you to drop law for music?
Itâs a matter of passion. Itâs not that I donât like the legal profession, law is a wonderful and prestigious profession but I am also somebody that if I follow that line, I will still be successful because there is brain upstairs a lot up there. But I so much love write or record songs and also performing on stage because it gives me maximum satisfaction and there is no way i will not follow my heart. That is why I am here today.
Are you into a relationship?
I want to keep that one aside for now because relationship can be distraction. When somebody loves a woman so much he abandons his work and every other thing besides, I donât want that to be my story. I am still single and I donât have anybody.
If you had the opportunity to date any Nigerian celebrity, who would it be?
Maybe Chidinma or Yemi Alade, please donât forget these are beautiful ladies and I will like to date them.
