Beat FM’s On-Air-Personality, Tolu Oniru popularly known as Toolz and her fiance, Captain Tunde Demuren, a pilot and the co-founder of EME, will be having their traditional wedding this Saturday, January 30, 2016, in Lagos.

The wedding is expected to be a grand one judging by the couple’s privileged backgrounds.

Toolz is the daughter of HRM Oba Idowu Abiodun Oniru, a first class monarch in Lagos, while Tunde is one of the sons of Dr. Harold Olusegun Demuren, an Aeronautical Engineer and former Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.

Toolz and Tunde got engaged in May and had their introduction at the palace of Oba Oniru on September 5, 2015.

Yesterday – Monday Night, Popular On Air personality, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbebi shaded two popular brothers – Joro Olumofin and Dokun Olumofin on Twitter, ranting on how they attend parties and “owambe” without an invitation. She also further claimed the brothers beg wedding organizers for invites.

The drama was especially about Toolz upcoming wedding, dated January 30th. Gbemi probably thought the brothers were not invited for the wedding when they actually got invited.

Born Remilekun Khalid Safaru on January 26 decades ago, Reminisce, who holds a diploma in Purchasing and Supply from the Kwara State Polytechnic, came into the music industry about ten years ago after a chance meeting with prolific producer, ID Cabasa.

His feature on ‘Bachelor’ off 9ice’s second album, Gongo Aso was one of the incidences which shaped his career. His hit single, ‘Kako bii Chicken’ made him a force to reckon within the pop circles and he has continued to maintain a dominant presence in the industry alongside his buddies, Olamide, Phyno and others.

Mavin Record First Lady – Tiwa Savage sad down with TVC Entertainment on their show “TVC Connect Meets…” and the new mother spoke a lot of things from why her husband Tee Billz decided to shield Jamil from the media for a couple of months, her new Pampers endorsement deal, making a comeback in the music industry and more.

On her Pampers deal with son Jamil: The Pampers deal came literally about a month and a half ago so it was after I had Jamil.

On how she felt at the news of being replaced while on maternity leave: I don’t think I was really bothered. I know how entertainment is and sometimes you need that kind of news so I didn’t take it personally and I wasn’t really moved by it because when you’re having a baby that’s one of the biggest joys that you can ever ever imagine.

On making a comeback after having a baby: My priority was just to make sure that I was healthy and that my baby was healthy and that we had a safe delivery. So at that time I was taking time away from music and I knew I had to take time off but my focus was really my baby…and I had worked while I was pregnant. I had recorded my album so I also knew that I had something when I was going to come back and I was going straight back into work. I also believed in the grace of God over my life and I guess that helped me.

She also shared 5 things people don’t know about her:

1. She doesn’t like wearing heels. She prefers flat shoes.
2. She can cook but doesn’t like to cook.
3. She prefers staying at home and just watching TV.
4. She drives sometimes and she drives very slow.
5. She loves bread.

Apparently, Wizkid Media Company reacts to news going round about his 2nd child with US Video Vixen – Binta in a press statement released to the media:

“Wizkid hasn’t confirmed any news about him having another child. We know he’s single and he’ll be releasing his EP next month.”

They also talked about Tania Omotayo in the whole drama, noting that the couple have actually been on a break the moment the baby with Diamond was conceived:

“Tania broke up with Wiz a while ago but both parties agreed to be friendly towards each other. Nonetheless, she kept her distance from him and missed a lot of his events and performances over the Christmas holidays. She went on vacation with her friends in Dubai during his industry night event. Wizkid was probably trying to win her back when he tweeted “T baby forever” sometime ago, perhaps he was trying to work things out.”

Wizkid has definitely been in the news a lot lately; from new music to feuding with Dammy Krane, being accused of song theft by Blackface Naija and now a new baby mama.

They say when you are winning, so many people try to pull you down and that could be the case here.

Diamond who welcomed Wizkid’s Baby Boy has since named him Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun Jnr – Which of course is Wizkid’s exact First, Middle and Last names! Smart Move!

1. Binta and Wizkid have been in a quiet relationship for a while and when she became pregnant things were kept on the low till she gave birth and shared the name of her son with her Instagram followers.

Mercy Johnson’s Husband Speaks On Running For Edo State Deputy Governorship Position

Below is the statement he released:

My attention has been drawn to various campaigns on-going online about the upcoming election in Edo State later this year.

The campaign mainly by young people (youths) and students from Edo State and my local government, is that I should vie for the position of Deputy Governor in the state.

This is based on the premise that since the party zoned deputy governorship slot to Edo Central where I am originally from, I should represent various interests in the area.

This is a gesture I appreciate; it is a good thing for people to recognise your good work and want you to serve especially when one has been supportive without being in government.

I want to make it clear that the position of deputy governorship is not a position one campaigns for, the party leaders alongside members chose who flies the party’s ticket alongside the governorship candidate.

However, I am available to serve in whatever capacity the party wants me to serve. I am a loyal party member.

Most importantly, the people of Edo State deserve much more than what they are getting from the present government.

Good governance is not what is seen on the pages of newspapers, good governance reflects in the lives of the governed.

People of Edo State can testify themselves if they have gotten the best from the present government. The people know they got the wrong end of the stick. Good governance is not PR, it is value-adding.

In whatever way things swing in Edo State, I am an interested stakeholder in the happenings in my state and a visionary individual who believes good leadership coupled with youthfulness can turn the whole of Nigeria and Edo State around without unnecessary noise.

I will continue to engage relevant stakeholders in Edo State regarding this matter.

I once again appreciate the various youth associations, students union, all the higher institutions in Edo State and women who want me to show interest in the upcoming election.

I will continue to help my people with or without political power as I have always done without being in government.

Kenyan man weds his partner who waited for him all through his 27 years in prison

Last weekend, in Nakuru, Kenya, Charles Kinyua, who was released from prison a month ago, finally wedded his wife Josephine Wanjiru, in church.

She waited for him all through the 27 years he spent in prison, until he was included among the reformed convicts pardoned by President Uhuru in December.

Kinyua was sentenced to death in 1988 after he was found guilty of armed robbery and served time at the Kamti Maximum Prison. In 2013, he was declared a reformed man by Reverend Muthungu who also officiated the wedding.

“When we went to Kamti Maximum Prison, Mr Kinyua caught our attention by how organised he was,” Reverend Muthungu told the audience at the wedding ceremony. “He worked faithfully and was a leader of the other inmates and we did not have any doubt that he had transformed. He used to tell us on how he had lost hope of ever leaving the prison.”

Speaking with the press, Josephine Wanjiru said she always hoped that Kinyua would eventually be released, and then she narrated how difficult life had been living as a single mother and raising their two children.

“I prayed to God when it dawned on me that at my young age l was going to stay without my husband,” Wanjiru said, crying. “It is through God’s grace that l never got re-married. When he was arrested I saw darkness and I was still very young and I thought it was the end of the world. I contemplated committing suicide.”

“When our firstborn joined school, he had a difficult time when the teacher asked him to write the name of his parents,” she continued. “He later started questioning me on where his father was and I had to tell him. When I received news that he had been released from prison I fainted. When l gained consciousness, I spent two sleepless nights celebrating with my family.”

For Kinyua, he acquired skills and became an accomplished mechanic.

Moments ago, Blac Chyna solved all the puzzles that left us pondering by posting a photo of a man holding her from behind, and the tattoos are a perfect match with Rob Kardashian’s. She captioned the post, “The beginning.”

The duo have been hinting on a possible relationship. Last week, Rob started following Blac Chyna on Instagram and while many people wondered if he was just doing that to piss off the members of his family, Blac Chyna returned the favour by liking his photo.

And with this calculated post of the duo loved up in a new photo, it is all the confirmation many people need. So, how do you spell ‘freaking out?!’

As though to confirm this relationship, Kylie shared the drawing of a devil-like figure earlier, and called it Rob.

For one, Kylie Jenner hurt Blac Chyna by taking Tyga, and now Chyna slams back by kicking off an affair with the only son the close nit family has.

We can’t imagine the horror the Kardashians will be going through now. For one thing, this mean drama!

Plantashun Boiz singer Blackface is back with a new claim: that his former group member, the legendary singer 2baba Idibia, stole his song.

Blackface made this claim on his Twitter page, few days after he also accused Wizkid of stealing from him.

Five Star Music artiste, Harrysong shared a photo of his grandmother who he said sold wrappers to pay his school fees and studio sessions.

He captioned:

“Ya’ll say thank u to my grandmother. .I call her miloskey. ..the woman that sold wrappers for my school and studio sessions..she has refused to come to lagos o..so I ve no choice than to always go and visit her o…thank u so much for ur love mama…God bless u and keep for me..stay strong #miloskey”

Kanye West Tweets ‘Swish’ Album Tracklist, Calls It ‘The Best Album of All Time’

Kanye West has freshly confirmed that his seventh studio album and long anticipated album, ‘Swish’ will be released on iTunes by February 11.

The rapper, who has been teasing with the album’s release for the better part of two years, tweeted out a ten-song tracklist early this morning January 25 and hinted that the project was finalized.

‘So happy to be finished with the best album of all time,’ he captioned on a photo with the handwritten tracklist that was autographed by his sister-in-law, Kylie Jenner.

Jason Njoku’s iROKOtv Seals New Deal Worth $19m

Before the news of the coming of Netflix to Africa, Jason Njoku-led Iroko Tv has been championing the course of premium TV content online on the continent.

With big competition coming via the American giant, Iroko Tv seems to be prepared to continue in its giant strides, having just announced a new investment deal worth $19million in content and cash.

In a statement released by Iroko Tv, French media giantCANAL+, together with existing investor Kinnevik AB, are investing in addition to iROKO’s own cash flow to give the leading African tech & entertainment company the platform to scale its operations and expand aggressively across the continent.

iROKO will channel the investment into local content financing and production, as well as its product and engineering teams in Lagos and New York. The ambition is to produce at least 300 hours of original content in 2016, with the expectation of doubling that by 2018. This will enable the company to build on its already extensive catalogue, making it arguably one of the largest libraries of local African content.

The announcement also sees Jacques du Puy, President of Canal+ Overseas, join the iROKO board.

CEO and Co-founder of iROKO, Jason Njoku says: ‘With millions more Africans poised to come online via mobile in the coming years, our mission is to lead viewers to content they’ll love.This is something the vast majority of the continent struggles with today. We hope to bridge that divide, and this additional investment supports such a plan.

‘For us, there is no version of reality where the marriage between Africa’s most powerful communication tool (mobile) and the most prolific and loved entertainment provider (Nollywood) won’t be a joyous union.’

Mobile phone subscriptions in Africa are almost at 1 billion and by 2019, it is predicted that smartphone handsets, with which viewers can watch content, will make up 73% of the continent’s devices.

Njoku adds: ‘The challenges surrounding mobile TV in Africa are mighty, but not insurmountable. It’s human to be entertained and connect over community and we are obsessed with creating Africa’s largest community around local content. We have always been crazily bold in our ambitions to bring the content closer to viewers and build a truly frictionless and inclusive entertainment experience. Today’s news improves those odds.’

iROKO, has previously raised $25m from international investors, including Tiger Global, Kinnevik and RISE Capital. It also holds distribution deals with Canal+, BA, Emirates, Nollywood TV and Lebara and has two Linear TV channels on Africa’s Star Times.

As anticipation gets heightened with the trailer release of Kunle Afolayan’s latest movie, ‘The CEO’, fans are in for a wonderful fresh experience.

YBNL singer, Adekunle Gold makes his movie debut on the intriguing movie as the Orente singer is seen performing to an audience in the trailer released by the award winning filmmaker last night.

Adekunle Gold stars in the movie alongside Grammy award winning singer, Angelique Kidjo and Moroccan music act, Ahmed Sultan.

Actors and actresses who feature in the highly expected film include Wale Ojo, Kemi Lala Akindoju, Peter King Nwania and Hilda Dokubo.
