Boy To Have Official Name As POPCORN After Refusing To Respond To Anything Else. (Photo)
3 year old Diesel Roberts, is having his name changed to POPCORN – after his parents claim he refuses to be known as anything else.
Wales Online reports that his parents have been referring to their son as popcorn since he was in the womb.
His father, Huw said:
“Popcorn, it was the obvious choice, he was a bit of a fighter during Hazel’s pregnancy, and the kicks in the womb were like the popping that happens when you put the corn in the saucepan. It’s stuck ever since that day.”
Now due to start nursery in the coming year, Popcorn has taken such a liking to his second name that he refuses to be known by anything else.
“We’ve always called him Popcorn, it started off as a nickname but now he won’t answer to anything else,” said self-employed mum Hazel.
“We love the name, it’s fun and all of our friends call him it and like it too. There are a few people in the family who don’t really agree with it, but I’d rather not discuss them to be honest.”
Nigerian Senate Summons Chief Of Army Staff, DSS DG Over Shi’ite Clash.
Nigerian Chief of Army staff, Mr. Tukur Buratai is said to appear before the senate over a clash with Shi’ite Muslims in Zaria which led to the death of over 60 people.
According to Punch, the Chief will appear before the House joint Committee on Army/National Security/Intelligence and Public Safety, alongside the Director General of the Department of State Services, Lawan Daura, and “heads of other security agencies,” would be summoned by a House joint Committee on Army/National Security/Intelligence and Public Safety.
Also to appear before the House are the top leaders of the Islamic Movement, “as well as other stakeholders as the House may deem fit to discuss the issue.”

FG Probes Aero’s Use of Ladder in Bauchi Airport
Senator Hadi Sirika – Minister of State for Aviation yesterday gave directives for an immediate investigation into the use of ladder by Aero Contractors Airlines on its chartered flight at the Bauchi Airport which went viral on Saturday.
He said:
“Several reports received by the Minister have indicated the airline used a ladder to disembark passengers from a Boeing 737 aircraft at the Bauchi airport on Saturday December 19th 2015.
“The act is inconsistent with Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations, NCAR and International Civil Aviation Organization, ICAO, Standards and Recommended Practices, SARPS.
“The investigation will determine the immediate and remote causes of the incident with a view to developing and implementing measures that will prevent a re-occurrence of the unsafe and unacceptable procedure that exposed passengers to high risk of serious injury.”

Disaster on Miss Universe 2015 as Steve Harvey Announces The Wrong Winner on Live TV
Miss Colombia wiped away tears of joy as the $30,000 blue diamond and topaz crown was placed upon her head and she was named Miss Universe 2015, winning the title for her country for the second year in a row.
But her glory only lasted for two minutes.
Just as Ariadna Gutierrez was blowing kisses and waving to her adoring fans she was informed, on live television, that it was actually Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo who was meant to be wearing the crown.
Steve Harvey strolled up on stage, the shame already evident on his face, when he told the crowd ‘Folks, I have to apologize.”The first runner-up,’ he then announced. ‘Is Colombia.’ ‘Miss Universe 2015,’ Harvey then dramatically clarified, ‘Is Miss Philippines.’
Miss Philippines stared wide-eyed at the audience, her lip quivering as Miss USA whispered into her ear and she realized what exactly those words meant.
Pia joined Ariadna on stage and stared into the audinece in shock, Miss Universe 2014 Paulina Vega giving her fellow countrywoman a comforting pat on the back just minutes after they had shared a victorious embrace.
‘Folks let me take control of this,’ Harvey told the sea of boos and cheers. ‘This is exactly what’s on the card,’ he then said, displaying the results on the camera. ‘I will take responsibility for this, it was my mistake,’ he continued.
‘I can show it to your right here, the first runner up is Colombia,’ it’s my mistake, still a great night. Please don’t hold it against the ladies.’
And then came for the heartbreaking moment when Miss Colombia had to bend down, allowing Vega, Ms Universe 2014, to remove the crown and place it on Miss Philippines head instead.
The telecast then came to an abrupt stop, cutting without credits or allowing Miss Philippines to take her first walk as Miss Universe.
‘I want to apologize emphatically to Miss Philippians and Miss Columbia,’ Harvey wrote in a tweet that has since been deleted in which he spelled both of the women’s countries wrong. ‘This was a terribly honest human mistake and I am so regretful.’
Fans immediately took to social media to react to the mistake, criticizing Harvey, expressing regret for Miss Colombia and praise for Pia.

Popular American singer, Trey Songz arrived Nigeria on Thursday for the Rhythm Unplugged event which held on Friday 18th, December 2015.
During a chat with press men, the singer was asked if he had tried any of the Local cuisine in Nigeria where he somewhat waved the question but spoke about how the traffic in Lagos is terrible.
The singer revealed it took him a little over two hours to get to his hotel from the airport. Everyone laughed it off, as we all think traffic in Lagos is a norm.

Real Madrid Rejects Jose Mourinho
As speculations continue about the future of Jose Mourinho, who was sacked on Thursday by Chelsea, one of the club’s he has managed in his illustrious career, Real Madrid, said they do not want his services – at least not for now.
Club President, Florentino Perez, said though it was difficult to say what could happen in the future, the Portuguese is not coming back to the Santiago Bernabeu in the nearest future.
Perez affirmed that the club was happy with present manager, Rafa Benitez and so will not be requiring Mourinho’s services.
“No one can see into the future, but right now he’s not coming back to Real Madrid. Rafa Benítez is capable of solving the problems we have. That’s the only option we’re considering.
“I have very good memories of working with Mourinho; he raised our competitive level. It wasn’t a dark period. Under him, we returned to our rightful place,” he declared.

Air France Flight From Mauritius To Paris Forced To Land in Kenya After Bomb was Found in toilet
An Air France with 459 passengers and 14 crew members on board was forced to land in Kenya after a bomb was found in one of the toilets.
The Boeing 777 Air France flight was heading to Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris when the pilots requested an emergency landing at the Moi International Airport at 12:37am local time (early this morning Dec. 20th), police spokesman Charles Owino said.
“It requested an emergency landing when a device suspected to be an explosive was discovered in the lavatory,” Owino said.
“The plane was carrying 459 passengers and 14 crew members on board and had left Mauritius at 9pm”, Owino added.
All passengers were safely evacuated and the device was taken out. Kenyan authorities says the explosive has been successfully retrieved and bomb experts are analysing it.
The airport in Mombasa was closed during the evacuation and search process, said a police official, who insisted anonymity because he is not authorized to brief the media.

The device has been taken to a safe destination for denotation.
Meanwhile, the evacuated passengers who are staying at Travelers Hotel, are currently being addressed by Kenyan authorities. (See Photos below)
