“Mercy Chinwo charges N10 million to perform in churches” – Rev. Fr. Oluoma reveals as he speaks about churches turning worship into entertainment (Video)

Nigerian clergyman, Rev. Fr. Oluoma, has asserted that churches have turned worship into entertainment.

The clergyman made this assertion during a recent sermon in his church.

During the sermon, Fr. Oluoma revealed that gospel singers charge millions just to lead a 10-minute worship service in churches.

Citing the example of renowned Nigerian gospel singer Mercy Chinwo, he disclosed that she charges up to N10M to perform in churches.

“We have made religious worship expensive. If I have to bring Mercy Chinwo here to sing, how much will I have to pay? How much do you think she will charge? 10 million naira. Then I will have to collect the money from church members to pay her.

These are the tragedies we have brought into the church. An artist will come to the church to minister for 10 million or 5 million, and that’s too much. I’m not against paying her; you must pay her because you invited her.” He said.

“Is this what Nigerian women deal with?” – Dubai-based Nigerian lady asks after man who earns N200k told her to leave her N34m per annum job to marry him

Nigerian lady asks

A Nigerian woman based in Dubai has narrated how a man who earns N200,000 proposed that she give up her N34 million per annum job to marry him.

The lady, identified as @RejiYates on Twitter, took to the microblogging platform on Tuesday, May 6, to share her experience.

She claimed that the man who knows her parents asked if he could talk to them about marrying her, but she refused because she wasn’t interested in him and due to his low income.

Nigerian lady asks

In response to her reasons, he allegedly asked if she would be willing to quit her high-paying job for the sake of love because he believes that a woman is not supposed to earn more than her husband.

The lady, who was taken aback by his statement, questioned if this is the kind of behaviour Nigerian women endure from their male counterparts.

Read her full post below,

Am I in the wrong here. Small story.

This guy in Nigeria that knows my family asked if it would be okay for him to speak to my parents about marriage and I said no. I don’t have an interest in marrying him.

He asked why and I have my reasons. He focused on the financial reason.

I simply said we aren’t in the same financial place and I don’t think it’s fair on both of us.

One , I don’t want to limit my lifestyle and he shouldn’t have to be pressured to earn more. It’s just unfair for both of us imo

Nigerian lady asks

He asked if I would give up my work for love and I said absolutely not. I explained I love my job, it’s something that brings me happiness and makes me who I am. It’s also part of my personal brand so it simply cannot go.

He said my reasoning is not realistic 🙃

He gave me a range of his annual salary in naira which was around 100,000 – 200,000 which is fine and I said that isn’t bad. That’s what he earns and good on him.

I gave mine in naira which is 28 million – 34 million and he said I can’t earn more than my husband.

I called him insecure and he said a man is suppose to be the provider and there is nothing insecure about that. So I told him to go and provide for someone within his bracket.

He can’t provide for me so he said he will report me to my family.

Sorry am I in the wrong? Cause 🙁

I don’t care if he reports me cause my family would legit laugh. The mentality alone is even madness. Why can’t I earn more and why would I give up that salary and work?

He said women of now a days wants to be like men 🤣🤣🤣.

Is this what Nigerian women deal with?

Davido’s babymama, Sophia Momodu seemingly accuses him of playing with the intelligence of Nigerians by pretending to be a present father

Sophia Momodu seemingly accuses

Sophia Momodu, the first babymama of Nigerian singer, Davido, has seemingly accused him of pretending to be a present father in the life of his children.

It’s widely believed that Davido shows up for all his children as he often attends their birthdays and other special occasions, save for his fourth child Dawson, whom he shares with UK-based makeup artiste, Larissa London.

Sophia Momodu seemingly accuses

However, there were no doubts about the singer’s presence in the life of his first child, Imade Adeleke, until recently when Sophia Momodu began accusing him of being an absent father and neglecting his financial responsibilities towards their child.

Reacting to her recent outburst on Snapchat, a follower accused her of being toxic and intentionally keeping Imade away from her father, instead of allowing her enjoy the singer’s love.

Sophia Momodu seemingly accuses

“Your own too much jhare, you no allow person see him pikin and you are here being toxic. Id you wanna be a good mother, not like this, allow your daughter feel the father love,” the follower asked.

In response, Sophia clarified that she is not the one keeping her child away from her father, insinuating that it was the singer who has been avoiding his responsibilities as a father.

She also indirectly accused Davido of playing with the intelligence of Nigerians by posing to be a present father in Imade’s life.

“You are absolutely right. If indeed I’m guilty of this then it’s absolutely ’toxic’ as every child deserves to have their father in their life. BUT if not then someone has been telling the general public big big lies.

G boy, are you going to allow whoever it is lie to you & play with your intelligence anyhow? If I were you, I wouldn’t take it,” she said.

“I settled for acting after I failed in my first year of law” – Actress Genoveva Umeh

Nigerian-British actress, Genoveva Umeh, has disclosed that even though acting has always been her passion, she didn’t study it initially.

According to her, she studied law in university but realized that acting was truly her passion after failing in her first year of law.

The Far From Home star revealed this during the latest episode of the “Is This Seat Taken” podcast, hosted by Nollywood actress Chinasa Anukam.

She said, “Studying law was my decision. However, I also realized that as a first-generation immigrant, I knew how hard my parents worked to get me into the UK.

“So, I didn’t want to pursue a course that I just considered as a hobby. I thought acting was merely a hobby.

“I went from viewing acting as a hobby during my time in university, thinking that after graduation, I would come back and pursue it.

“But that didn’t happen until I failed my first year. Failing my first year of law was when I realized that I needed to start considering what I truly wanted to do, rather than what I felt I had to do.”

A while ago, Genoveva stated that she’s not interested in being anyone’s role model and simply wants to be herself.

The thespian stated this in a chat with Midweek Entertainment.

Genoveva reiterated that she doesn’t want to be a role model to anyone; rather, she wants to live her normal life and not be driven by the urge to make decisions based on public expectations.

“I think my only challenge is I still want to be myself, I still want to do great work and I don’t want to get caught up in the fame. Those are the things I want to focus on. Also, as much as people are really inspired by my work, I don’t think of myself as a role model. I’m not a role model, I’m just someone who cares about her work and if people are inspired by that, that’s great.

“But I don’t want people to attach themselves to everything I do or hold me accountable for certain decisions that I make. I want to live free, I want to be myself and I still want to do great work without the pressure of people’s expectations.” She said.

“Davido owes Sophia Momodu an apology for hum!l!ating her” – Actress Esther Nwachukwu blows hot (Video)

Popular Nollywood actress, Esther Nwachukwu, has weighed in on the ongoing drama between Nigerian superstar singer Davido and his baby mama, Sophia Momodu.

For a while now, Davido’s first baby mama Sophia has been dragging him on social media, seemingly accusing him of being a deadbeat father.

Most recently, she revealed her plan to change their daughter’s surname from Davido’s to her own because she claims to have been the only one playing the roles of both father and mother.

In a video shared on Instagram, actress Esther voiced her support for Sophia amid her social media rant. She lambasted Davido and stated that he should learn to treat his baby mamas with respect, despite being married.

Esther claimed that she is not like others who try to engage in superficial discussions when there is a serious matter to address, adding that she is never afraid to speak the truth.

According to Esther, Davido’s wealth has blinded many people to his excesses. She lamented that this blindness has led them to constantly criticize Sophia, while in reality, Sophia deserves an apology for all the alleged humiliation she has faced at the hands of the singer.

“Childbirth is a 50/50, life or death situation. So when a woman goes to the labor room to give birth to a child, whether you marry her or not, she deserves every respect,” she said in part.

Shortly afterward, she deleted the post and issued an apology to the Adeleke family, particularly to Davido and his cousin, Clark Adeleke, emphasizing that she never intended to attack the family.

“To whom it may concern, my last post was never intended to disrespect Davido or his family. Perhaps I should not have used Sophia’s picture as a reference, and thus, the post has been taken down.”

“To my dear friend Clark Adeleke, I am deeply sorry for making you feel the way you felt. The post was never intended to disrespect your family or belittle Davido. Please forgive me, and I still stand against deadbeat fathers, but definitely not against David,” she wrote.

“Money shouldn’t stop you from getting married” – Solomon Buchi tells single men

Controversial media personality, Solomon Buchi, has claimed that unmarried men do not need to consider their financial stability before marriage.

Solomon, who wed in February 2023, expressed his opinion on Twitter that money shouldn’t be a barrier to guys getting married.

He gave the example of his younger sister who married at the age of 22 to a man who had an oil company position but lost it six months later, saying that a man needs a sensible woman who is prepared to face life with him, not money.

He wrote;

“My kid sis got married at 22 to my friend, 25. He was working with a top oil company; doing absolutely well for himself. Six months into marriage, he was laid off because of COVID. I know a lot of men want to have strong financial base to get married, but that’s not what you need. What you need is a partner that understands the reality that you can lose everything, and they need to be there for you. Marriage thrives on understanding and contentment—come what may, both of you will hold it together. That’s the real control and security you can have.

Men, money shouldn’t stop you from getting married. It shouldn’t. I understand the societal pressure, but there’s no guarantee that all the riches you want to build can’t fly away. Life happens, and you need a woman who will embrace you when life happens. I bet that if my in-law foresaw that he’d have lost his job 6 months into marriage, he most likely wouldn’t have gotten married, till last year that he was called back. Don’t let the aspiration to have money stacked up somewhere stop you from getting married.

If you have a job, accommodation & food, you can get married. It will be better if your partner also has income flow too. Stop waiting to have your house/be a millionaire before you marry. I wanted to have my house before marriage, guess who’s married & doesn’t have a house yet?

I daresay that many couples spend less than singles, because there’s a strong sense of responsibility, teamwork and accountability. My younger sister once told me that I spent more money as a single man than they spent as a family, it made me illuminated my mind. Marriage can be economical, especially when children aren’t involved, and when you cut your coat according to your cloth. It’s really not that deep. Most of our parents had only accommodation and food when they got married, and they grew with time.

Before my wedding, I brooded over the financial cost that comes with marriage, and I shared with my friend cum brother-in-law and told me that I can’t control everything, and I should just get married & face life with my wife. That’s what I’d have done as a single man, anyway. It’s a highly consumerist world, but you still tailor everything to your budget. Wed on a weekday, invite a few friends, rent the wedding dress, get a photographer friend to help you, you don’t need an exotic honeymoon immediately. Please save some money for life in marriage.

If your family complains, tell them you’re working with a budget, and if they want it bigger, they can sponsor it. Simple. Men, you don’t need the world to marry. Marry a reasonable woman; start small, never stay lazy. If you know your stuff, you will save more more in marriage.

Financial stability for marriage is having a source of income that can feed, house and clothe you; as long as it’s legitimate work. This is the sign you need to make that bold step, unless you’re generally not ready for marriage, but if it’s about finances, go and marry!”

“There’s one story I always wanted to share… In this small Akwa Ibom, 2021 I was in dire need of money. E bin choke. I met my friend who was capable. Baba said I’ll have to knack him for 300k. He’ll gimme cash. He promised 15k for a massage, that’s for starters… The idea was scary at first. But when I went home. My LGBTKRQ mind analysed it. Till I saw almost nothing wrong with it. I know how I battled with the thoughts for days. After like 5 days, I told him I’ll do it. We fixed a date. A Monday.

On Sunday while in church my mind was racing. Omo I’ve never been in such a dilemma before. I told myself, nothing dey here, run am with CD(which he agreed), collect your money and go, nobody will know.

While heading back home on Monday from my father’s house, in the coach, I randomly opened my Bible app and I stumbled on a portion in Hebrews… Heb 12. I read it more than once. Throughout that day the verse was on my mind. Late in the afternoon, I was walking alone, someone asked me, in my head, “Bob are you worth N300k?” I paused and thought 🤔. No, I’m worth more than that I replied. The voice sked again, “so you go knack that manchi collect 300k, after the money finish nko? Mean say you go dey knack people collect money” That was when I realised that I was about doing runs boy with a touch of LGBTKRQ. OMO I carry phone tell my guy say I no dey do am again. He asked Why? I said I didn’t feel like it again. “what about the money?” I told him I didn’t want his money anymore. He got mad

Long story cut short. 3 people decided to sponsor me, one sent 100k 4 days afterwards. I sorted the issue smoothly. They are still sponsoring me as we speak and I’ve spent more than 300k that’s not my money since 2021. Then I asked myself what if I had knack my guy, naso I for turn LGBTKRQ pikin overnight and them for use me cos I’ll see money and become a slave to it.

NO AMOUNT OF MONEY CAN MAKE ME SLEEP WITH MY GENDER 🙏❤️
