Nigerian screen diva and billionaire wife, Regina Daniels has shared a heartwarming video of her visit to Asaba specialist hospital.

The actress took to her Instagram page on Monday, June 26, to share the video where she generously donated food, care products, and money to sick people at the hospital.

She also provided financial assistance to both new and expectant mothers in the ward, and prayed for them to deliver their babies safely.

According to the mother of two boys, the visit opened her eyes to the need to fully equip hospitals in Nigeria so that people won’t have to be referred abroad for medical treatment.

A Twitter user has taken to the micro-blogging platform to raise an alarm about a phone thief who has been operating in the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) area for over two years.

According to the Twitter user, identified as @Mahmoud_Damisi, the thief is audacious, and all attempts to apprehend him over the past two years have been unsuccessful.

It’s gathered that after stealing his victims’ phones, he demands a ransom before returning the devices.

Unlike other typical thieves, his modus operandi is distinct. After stealing a phone, he waits for the owner to call and then moves the conversation to Telegram for negotiation. Once an agreement is reached, he selects a location for the victim to retrieve the phone.

“This guy has been Terrorising FUNAAB for more than 2 years now. I can’t explain how he does his Theft, but I can assure you that even if you lock your door, you are still not safe from his kleptomaniacal range.

“This guy is uniquely different from other Thieves. After siezing your phone away from you, he’d wait for you to call and move the conversation to Telegram for negotiation. Upon reaching a bargain, he would map a location for you to pick your phone. Bobo yi yawerey gaaaan!!!!!!.” Mahmoud wrote on Twitter.

To support his claim, Mahmoud shared several screenshots of the thief’s conversations with some of his victims.

Nigerian professional footballer, Akinkunmi Amoo, has been sentenced to one-year imprisonment for sexual assault by the District Court in Denmark.

The 21-year-old footballer, who plays as a winger for F.C. Copenhagen in the Danish Superliga, was convicted on Friday 23 2023.

Akinkunwmi’s woe started in September 2022 when he was arrested in Denmark for sexual assault, but he was released on bail in October.

He was thereafter charged to court and stood trial on three counts of rape in a sexual relationship other than intercourse, attempted rape, and violations of two more women.

He was found guilty on all three charges by a dissenting magistrate on Friday afternoon, and was sentenced to one-year imprisonment. He was also reportedly slammed with a six-year entry ban to Denmark.

Akinkunmi is said to be ready to appeal the judgment but the date when the appeal will commence has not been made public yet.

In other news, Cristiano Ronaldo’s partner, Georgina Rodriguez, has faced heavy criticism for seemingly disrespecting the Portuguese footballer’s mother, Dolores Aveiro.

Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries, has revealed the reason he placed a curse on former security guards, Happie Boys.

Recall that the boys, Matthew Precious Kelechi and Amakor Johnson, released a voice note in which the clergyman rained hefty curses on them for being ‘ungrateful’ and going public with their plight.

He had stated that they will remain poor forever and declared that they will never achieve anything in life, let alone buy a plot of land.

The former security guards had shared the disturbing voice note after calling out the pastor for halting their scholarship at a university in Cyprus.

They claimed that the pastor only sponsored their studies for six months after their relocation to Cyprus and abandoned them to fend for themselves. The boys also revealed that they had dropped out of school due to lack of funds.

Following the call-out, Pastor Chinyere said he paused the scholarship due to financial challenges, and suggested that the boys return to Nigeria or a university in Benin Republic to continue their studies. However, they blatantly refused.

Well, in a recent interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt, the clergyman maintained that he didn’t abandon the boys in Cyprus.

He said he was upset and regretted sending the boys abroad after they called him out on social media, and that he cursed them out of rage. He, however, noted that he has forgiven them because they are like his children.

His words,

“Number one, I have forgiven them. Placing a curse is done out of anger. I have forgiven them because they are my children.”

The pastor also denied abandoning the boys, stating that the reason he could no longer support their studies was the global increase in the dollar exchange rate.

Speaking on how he felt when his benefeciaries called him out on social media, he said,

“I came into this world as dust, and I’m going back as dust. We live a borrowed life. The air is borrowed. God owns everything we have. God can decide that today, I’m taking back what I gave to you, will you be alive? I see life as everything we have, we don’t own it. It is owned by God. And when you try to give out and you don’t want to eat alone, then you are trying to discourage me? Do you know how many things that came to my head, especially when the Happie Boys issue happened? I regretted sending them, I regretted so many things. I know how many millions I spent on each of them to travel. The visas, ticket and everything. I regretted. Ticket alone was N2 million.”

Nigerian singer and son of Afrobeats pioneer Fela Kuti, Femi Kuti, has recounted how some people predicted the deaths of 12 of his family members in quick succession following the passing of his father.

Femi revealed that this prediction emerged after the tragic loss of his sister, Shola Kuti, and a cousin within a short span of time.

He shared this during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, adding that the period was particularly difficult for him.

As the first son of the family, Femi noted that many people encouraged him to remain strong amidst the turmoil.

However, the situation took a turn for the worse when his wife, Funke, left him in the midst of the crisis, and at that point, people believed he was on the verge of losing his sanity.

“Fela had just passed away. My sister, Shola, had passed away. My cousin had passed away. Some people were predicting that 12 of us would die. I wondered if this prediction would come true,” Femi said.

“We had our own internal family issues. They would say, ‘You’re the first son; you have to handle it.’ And I would ask, ‘Who put me in the middle of this trouble?’ Then my wife left me, and they said, ‘Femi is going mad.’ It was a terrible time,” he added.

Despite the hardships, Femi acknowledged that he is grateful for the experience as it played a significant role in shaping him into the person he is today.

The identity of the three medical students who tragically lost their lives in the Calabar boat mishap on Saturday, June 24, have been made public.

The Nigerian Medical Students Association (NiMSA) gave the names of the deceased students as Aisha Celestine Ogwu of the University of Uyo, Hamza Kabir of the Ahmadu Bello University, and Mustapha Tukur of the Ahmadu Bello University.

The corpses of the students were found floating on Monday morning, June 26, two days after the Commissioner of Police in Cross River state, Gyogon Augustine Grimah, confirmed their death on Saturday, June 24.

The medical students under the aegis of Nigeria Medical Students Association (NIMSA) had come from universities nationwide to attend the NiMSA annual Health Week in Calabar.

In a bid to explore the city, the students were said to have headed to the Marina Resort for a boat cruise. Sadly, the boat capsized during the excursion, resulting in the loss of three students, while ten others were rescued alive.

The 32-year-old, who manages celebrity musician Davido, admitted that he pays the salaries of over a hundred staff each month despite not having an undergraduate degree.

Nollywood actor, Adeniyi Johnson, has pleaded with the Nigerian police and other agencies involved to temper justice with mercy in the case of popular Ibadan-based skit maker, Trinity Guy.

Recall that the Instagram content creator, known for his extreme pranks, was summoned by the Oyo State Police a few days ago over a disturbing skit in which he sexualized a minor.

He honored the police invitation and was arraigned before a family court sitting at Iyaganku, Ibadan, on Monday, June 26.

In her ruling, Magistrate Mrs. P.O. Adetuyibi ordered that the skit maker be remanded in the Agodi Correctional Facility in Ibadan until July 11, when the case will come up for mention.

Reacting, Adeniyi Johnson, via his Instagram page, pleaded with the Nigerian Police Force and all agencies involved to temper justice with mercy.

He acknowledged that what the skit maker did was wrong but noted that he had learned his lesson.

A Nigerian bride has stirred controversy on social media as a result of her choice to proceed with her wedding without her kidnapped husband.

Her husband-to-be was said to have been abducted a day to their wedding, but rather than call it off, she proceeded in his absence using his framed picture.

The event coordinator, Victorian Crystal, posted the story online and stated that it took place 5th and 6th of January last year.

91-year-old Kenyan man who left home in search of greener pastures 50 years ago returns with only a walking stick

A 91-year-old Kenyan man named Samuel Machuka, who disappeared from his home 50 years ago, has made a surprising return, albeit only with a walking stick.

The man was found in Wote, Makueni County, through the help of the Provincial Administration, where he had been working as a casual laborer on a farm.

According to reports from The Standard, Machuka had left home in the 1970s in search of greener pastures and had journeyed to an unknown destination.

Upon his return, he was joyfully welcomed by his family in Masabo village, Nyaribari Masaba Kisii, although only a few of his peers could recognize him.

His nephew, Robert Makomba, had previously worked with him in Mau Narok in 1995 before they lost touch due to the absence of communication channels.

Expressing gratitude to the Provincial Administration, Makomba stated that as Seventh Day Adventist Christians, they would not hold any rituals but would instead warmly receive Machuka back home and allow him to settle.

Regarding his marital status, Machuka revealed that he had three informal marriages, but had no knowledge about the whereabouts of his wives.

His elderly uncles, who had been searching for him in vain, expressed relief and stated their willingness to support him in settling down.

They offered him his portion of the family land to build a house and mentioned that any woman with his children would be welcomed back home.

Popular Nollywood actress, Ini Edo has revealed why her colleague and close friend, Uche Jombo, initially disliked her.

She made this revelation during a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo when she was asked about her friendship with Uche and how they became close friends.

She stated that contrary to popular belief, their relationship did not start on a good note, as Uche initially hated her when they first encountered each other on a movie set.

According to her, Uche disliked her because she had the impression that she was rude and disrespectful but with time, they got to know each other better and became good friends.

Her words,

“Uche [Jombo] and I started off as not friends. She thought I was so rude. She thought I was so rude, that I was doing too much. She was like “What is she feeling like?” Like, I kept them on set for days. The first time we ever worked together, apparently she had been hearing my name, “Oh that new girl”, “oh she’s all over the place, all the producers are using her now so she’s like it girl”, you know, that is already making her feel like “what is she feeling like, mschewww”.

And then I now came late. I kept them like how many days on set. So eventually, according to her, I walked into the set and I did not say hello to her. So she was really upset with me. She hated me, apparently.

So eventually, I think, I don’t know how that wall got broken. I’m a sweetheart anyway, so you can hate me from afar but you can’t hate me when you know me, that’s just what it is.

So you know, I think eventually we got talking and I think we shared a drink. She didn’t waste time telling me “You, you no dey greet person abi? You no know say I no be your mate!” [laughs].

I think that’s how the ice was broken, and she’s been an amazing person to me. I think it’s mutual respect and real love for each other. There’s just really nothing but friendship more than just love and respect. Once you have that for each other, it’s not like you guys won’t have issues or you won’t step on each other’s toes, but once that mutual respect is there and that real love is there, we can communicate cuz I like to talk, so we can talk through everything.”

Nigerian talent manager, Asa Asika has commended his personal development and success, which he attained without a degree.

The 32-year-old, who manages celebrity musician Davido, admitted that he pays the salaries of over a hundred staff each month despite not having an undergraduate degree.

Asa disclosed this in a recent conversation with social media influencer, Smart Money Arese.

The businessman dropped out of school and now runs a few management and entertainment firms.

He said;

“Everyone’s story is different, everyone’s path is different, people always feel as if you have to go a certain way to get a certain goal.

One of my companies pays 45 people’s salaries a month and that’s only one of the companies I run. If I do the maths, I probably pay about 100 people salaries a month and I have no degree.

Without being condescending or trying to sound cocky, I have friends who have gone to school and have PhDs now and they are working a 9 to 5 and making peanuts,” he added.

Court remands Skit maker Trinity Guy, parents of underaged girl over offensive skit

A Family Court sitting in Ibadan has ordered the remand of skit maker Maruf Abdullahi, popularly known as Trinity Guy, in the Agodi correctional facility over alleged sexual exploitation of a 10-year-old girl.

The court also arraigned and remanded the parents of the victim, Isiaka Ahmed, 40, and his wife, Rofiat, 29, on charges of conspiracy, sexual abuse, and exploitation, alongside the content creator.

The Magistrate, Mrs. P.O. Adetuyibi, did not take the defendants’ plea due to jurisdiction limitations. She mentioned that the case file had been filed and duplicated at the Oyo State Ministry of Justice.

Adetuyibi remanded the three defendants in the Agodi Correctional Facility in Ibadan until July 11, when the case will come up for mention.

Recall that the Oyo State Police Command had invited the content creator for allegedly sexualizing a minor in a viral skit video.

In the video, Trinity Guy had the female minor act as if she had mistakenly seen his manhood, possibly while he was urinating, and asked her to describe what she saw.

In response to the clip, the state police command issued a statement on its official Twitter handle, ordering Trinity Guy to report to their station.

“Popular content creator Abdullahi Maruf Adisa, AKA Trinity, has been contacted and invited to the Oyo State Police Command in connection with the disturbing viral skit content circulating across the social media space concerning a female minor. Updates will be provided soon,” the tweet read.

In a video shared on her TikTok page, the expectant mother proudly displays her large baby bump while thanking God for proving her mother-in-law wrong and blessing her with three babies.

According to her, her mother-in-law had expressed disbelief that she would ever be able to have children. However, by the grace of God, she has been blessed with three babies at once.

The visibly joyful and heavily pregnant woman dances in the video, expressing her gratitude to God for the blessings of the pregnancy.

Nollywood actor, Yomi Fabiyi, has come out to defend skit maker Maruf Abdullahi, popularly known as Trinity Guy, who was recently charged to court over a lewd skit with a 10-year-old girl.

During a court sitting in Ibadan, the judge ordered Trinity’s remand in the Agodi correctional facility over the alleged sexual exploitation of the female minor.

The court also arraigned and remanded the parents of the victim, Isiaka Ahmed, 40, and his wife, Rofiat, 29, on charges of conspiracy, sexual abuse, and exploitation, alongside the content creator.

Reacting to the judgement, Fabiyi took to social media to defend the skit maker, stating that pranks are “works of art and expression” and Trinity should be corrected with love.

He further urged the police to deal with the matter under the ambit of the law and not based on social media sentiment.

Yomi wrote,

“If we talk now, some will say I am supporting dangerous pranks or abuse on children. I will appeal to the Police to deal with this matter under the ambit of the law and not social media sentiment. I am of the opinion what the society want is CAUTION and re-direction of his style of pranks. DO NOT INITIATE ANY “ERASE CULTURE” just because you want to correct. Film, Pranks are work of arts and expression. Minors are used as war fighters in movies but in real life it is criminal. If the necessary consent is taken before involving a minor with no direct or extreme methods that may lead to punishable acts as enshrined under the CHILD PROTECTION LAWS, safe to say we all including the police should CORRECT HIM WITH LOVE and not TRAMPLE ON HIS RIGHTS by illegally detaining him, initiate unfair trial etc. The Police cannot judge him, charging him to court is simple civil and dignifying procedure. Do not see it as punishment or end to his career. PRANKS IS GLOBAL, moderation and counselling for better and healthy content is my own goal here. @adejobimuyiwa please the right charges and if none, POLICE CAUTION is lawful.
