Big Brother Naija season 7 winner, Phyna Otabor, has caused a massive stir online as she attends an event for the coronation of King Charles lll of England in Lagos.

Following the demise of Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles ll will be crowned today, May 6, in a ceremony that will mark the first coronation in 70 years.

Phyna, took to her Instagram page to share a video of herself during a Lagos celebration of the British Royal Family’s coronation.

This, however, stirred mixed reactions from social media users who termed it unnecessary and particularly ridiculous.

A Nigerian man has taken to social media to share how his cousin was heartbroken by his fiancée a week before their wedding for getting a small house for them to live in.

The woman reportedly called off the nuptials, disregarding the fact that she and her partner had been dating for ten years.

Her fiancé brought her to the house, but she objected that it was too tiny for her and demanded a bigger one, threatening to call off the wedding if he would not comply.

The narrator tweeted;

“My cousin’s wedding has been called off after 10years of courtship, he took her there to see working progress and she said the house is too small for her, n if he’s not getting a bigger one they should just call if the wedding.

The wedding is supposed to be next week,in katsina cloths are ready furnitures have been sorted out by him, infact kawai daurin aure ake jira, she’s not interested she wants a bigger house so in short shikenan an gama.

They met in secondary school, but because of how life is dole you have to get something strong to hold you in life, fast forward to 2017 when I was in school I pushed him to just go to their house and make it formal since we are so familiar with the house.

The divorce case taken before Grade A Customary Court by a lady named Sola Adesina against her husband Segun Adesina, who she said was a liar and full of pretense, has been postponed.

She pleaded with the judge to give her custody of their one and only child if Sola’s request was granted.

When the allegations were read to the husband, Segun, he immediately entered a plea of not guilty.

Sola said;

“My lord, my husband has lost the honour and respect I have for him. He is a wolf in a sheep’s clothing. I took him to be a responsible person when we met. Though he was not financially buoyant, I was ready to go all the way with him, but he disappointed me with his dishonest acts. I made provision for our introduction ceremony after we met and dated for some months. I took a loan of N50,000 and I handed this over to him to meet the needs of our introduction ceremony. He paid my bride pride out of this, but it was returned to him. I began to see another side of my husband shortly after we started living together as a couple. Segun pretends to be an angel, but he is a devil in disguise. He frustrates me and makes my life miserable because he never ceases to find faults in all that I do. The most embarrassing of it all is his lying habit which presents him as an unreliable and non-trustworthy person before our friends and associates. My husband has brought a dent on our image, while I take everything he says these days with a pinch of salt. Segun’s irresponsible behaviour has obviously marred our relationship and I am not willing to go any further in it.
I, therefore, implore the court to rule that we go our separate ways.”

The case was postponed till May 26 by the court president, Mrs. S.M. Akintayo.

A Nigerian man has opined that any man above the age of 25 driving a car worth 5 million naira is considered poor.

The man made this controversial assertion in a viral video, stating that any man above 25 years old with a car worth 5 million naira should not feel fulfilled or accomplished.

According to him, such a man is considered behind and wretched. He added that the car befitting a man above 25 years old should cost around 20 to 25 million naira.

“If you are above 25 and still driving a car worth 5 million naira, you are a poor man, and you don’t have money. Don’t see yourself as a rich man. There is no level. You should be driving a car worth 20 to 25 million naira”, he said.

Veteran Nollywood actress, Georgina Onuoha, has reacted to the news of former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, being sentenced to nine years and eight months in prison for organ trafficking by the Central Criminal Court, Old Bailey, UK.

His wife, Beatrice, was sentenced to four years and six months in prison, while the doctor who assisted the couple in the crime, Dr. Obinna Obeta, received a ten-year sentence.

Expressing joy at having justice served, Georgina took to Instagram to comment that it served them right for trying to take advantage of the young man because they were in a position of power.

According to her, the politician was given millions to build hospitals in his state and he embezzled the funds instead.

She wrote;

“And let the choir say Amen. Serves them right.
Do not take advantage of anyone because you are in a place of power. Dear Nigerian doctors, nurses and caregivers, do not sacrifice your licenses for anyone let alone Nigerian politicians who deliberately neglect our health care system back home but can rush overseas to be treated by the same Nigerians clinicians they treat poorly back home. Organ trafficking: Ike Ekweremadu sentenced to 9 years and 8 months in prison; wife bags 4 years, 6 months

Former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, has been sentenced to nine years and eight months in prison for organ trafficking by the Central Criminal Court, Old Bailey, UK.

His wife, Beatrice, was sentenced to four years and six months in prison, while the doctor who assisted the couple in the crime, Dr. Obinna Obeta, received a ten-year sentence.

After a six-week trial, the trio were on Thursday, March 23, found guilty of arranging the travel of a young trader to Britain with the goal of exploiting him of his kidney.

The trio had conspired to bring the 21-year-old man to London to harvest his organ to save their daughter, Sonia, who is battling with a terminal ailment.

Organ trafficking is a huge crime under the United Kingdom Modern Slavery act 2015. Their verdict is the first of its kind in the UK.

In other news, a 60-year-old Nigerian bus driver, Olisofa Popoola, was on Monday March 20 2023 arraigned in a UK court over the death of a pedestrian in London.

Popoola was driving an electric 507 single decker bus when he crashed into another bus outside Victoria Station in London, causing the death of 32-year-old Melissa Burr.

The tragic crash happened around 8.25am on 10 August 2021, when Burr, from Rainham, Kent, was crossing the road with two colleagues.

Following the crash, Popoola told the police, “My foot slipped off the brake and onto the accelerator and I have collided with the bus in front.”

A South African entrepreneur, Chantel July has called out a customer named Boitumelo, for allegedly stealing her iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The owner of a nail salon claimed that she initially believed the phone was misplaced but that it was really taken by a regular customer.

In a series of tweets shared on the microblogging platform, Twitter, Chantel described what happened when the customer requested for home service at her Randburg flat.

She wrote;

“HOW I LOST MY IPHONE 14 pro max AND MY REGULAR CLIENT TOOK IT.

On the 31st of May 2023 BOITUMELO C MHLANCA or MHLANGA called me out for a house call and she is a regular client once told her that I only service my regular clients for house calls. It was her and her friend BONGI.

They stay at Mint Appartment in Randburg greenside. I went there on a Sunday around 3pm , arrived and gave them my service, load shedding happened I had to wait for it to come back. Came back continued, done . I had to leave, she insides to reverse my car because I couldn’t

She insisted to reverse my because I couldn’t reverse it from that parking and my phone the 14 pro max was inside my car playing music. She then sent me to tell the receptionist to not close the gate . When I ran there,she took out my phone from the car and hide.The footage shows my car it’s the one in a blue/grey the one that’s reversing there. She (boitumelo) she is the one in light pink. I realised that my phone was gone when I got back into the car. I made a turn and quickly ran to her and said; my phone is missing.

She acted as if she didn’t take it . We tracked it it was showing Around that area where she stayed. But I couldn’t find it. She then mentioned a guy called Mashudu saying he will help me find my phone . It was a scam, this people got access to my phone. She told me about naked

She told me about Naked insurance, her friend Allan works there , lies , I called naked insurance I asked them they said they don’t have someone called that. By the way I never got paid for my service I provided. She said I should insurance a phone that’s already lost.

And said I shouldn’t block or do a sim swap, and said I should wait for 2weeks . She was very manipulative. I did the opposite. She asked for my ID number I never gave her only to find out they where able to access my phone go to my banking app and increase my limit.

When I was asking for my money , they are busy posting ,Posing with my nails. Difebe tse ! Yes they increased my banking limits but they couldn’t withdraw anything course I had already blocked my cards. They live this lifestyle through stealing from people.

Went back to her place on Tuesday to find out what exactly happened that’s when I saw how she took my phone. I asked to search her apartment she agreed I then asked to search her phone she gave me went to the business account. It was July Nails my business.”

Fire razes Alaba International Market, destroys properties worth millions (video)

A fire breakout has destroyed shanties in the well-known Alaba International Market in Ojo, Lagos state destroying assets worth millions of naira.

However, for unknown reasons, it was claimed that crowds stopped emergency personnel from entering the location to put out the fire.

Confirming the incident, Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Magret Adeseye said;

“Report reaching Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service at about 12 noon on Friday indicates shops at the popular Alaba International Market, Ojo, Lagos are on fire. However, fire crew from Ojo, Sari-Iganmu and Ajegunle are being turned back by angry mobs from performing their statutory duty but presently on standby. The agency is consequently collaborating with security agents to address it.”

Alaba International Market in Lagos is a major electronics and spare parts trading center, known for its dense crowds and well-packed stalls.

The incident has left traders and shop owners at the market in distress as their livelihoods have been severely affected.

The extent of the damage caused by the fire outbreak has yet to be determined.

Nigerian street Disc Jockey, Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken has purchased his father a Toyota.

The artist announced the news and proudly displayed the new vehicle on his Instagram page.

The DJ posted a video of the white automobile and expressed his happiness at having acquired something worthwhile for his father.

This comes after DJ Chicken received N1.5million as consolation for the brutal treatment that was meted on him weeks ago.

15-year-old boy breaks JAMB record as he scores 99 in Mathematics, 337 overall

A student of Bishop Otubelu Juniorate in Enugu, Lotanna Azuokeke, has been commended on social media for scoring 99 marks in Mathematics in the recently concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Lotanna, a native of Ọba in Idemmili South Local Government Area LGA of Anambra State, broke a record with his brilliant performance in Mathematics.

This was revealed in a statement released by the spokesperson of the Bishop of the Diocese of Nike (Anglican Communion), who founded the school, Dr Chiwuike Uba.

According to Uba, Lotanna also scored 88 marks in chemistry, 86 in physics, and 64 in the English Language, bringing it to a total score of 337.

“Azụokeke broke the record that set by Chidera Obi who scored 329 marks to emerge overall best, five years ago”, he added.

Uba further disclosed that the young champ applied to study electrical/electronic engineering at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).

A leaked conversation between a man and his girl, who slammed him for sending her a paltry sum of N70,000 as pocket money, has gone viral.

In the WhatsApp exchange that surfaced online, the guy apparently sent his girlfriend $70,000 as pocket money since she was returning to school.

The lady who found the sum to be too small took to WhatsApp to call his attention to it. She noted that the amount was not sufficient for her needs and demanded that he send her N400,000 or their relationship would be over.

She claimed the boyfriends of her friends were sending them six figures to take to school, while he only sent her 70k.

The lady went on to tell him that if he couldn’t send a better sum, he should send his account number to her so she could return the N70,000.

Meanwhile, a Nigerian TikTok Influencer known as Black Chully has thrown heavy shade at her boyfriend’s former lover who had made fun of her.

His former girlfriend, Mhiz Gold had taken to the comment of Chully’s earlier post and said that she is dating someone she dumped for being an unreliable boyfriend.

In response, the TikTok slay queen made fun of Gold by asserting that just though he neglected her while they were dating does not guarantee that he will do same to her now.

The thespian, who was returning from a birthday dinner on Thursday night, shared her frustration in a video shared on her Instastory.

The multi-talented thespian, who was the deputy governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was forced to ditch her political ambition after losing to the incumbent governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

A video currently making the rounds online captures the moment a man confronted his partner about taking $300 from his account every week to send to her ex-boyfriend, who is currently in prison.

In the video, the man can be heard expressing his frustration and demanding an explanation from his wife for the money transfer.

The woman, on the other hand, defends her actions, insisting that she did nothing wrong.

According to her, she sent the money to her ex-lover, identified as Dante, despite being estranged because he has no one else to help him out.

She also noted that she’s obligated to help Dante because they’ve been friends for 15 years apart from being her ex-lover.

The man, however, did not buy his partner’s excuse and questioned her loyalty and integrity.

He noted that his partner might still be in love with her imprisoned ex, adding that all he has demanded from her is loyalty and respect, even though she doesn’t cook or clean.

The video has since gone viral on social media, with netizens sharing their opinions on the situation.

Big Brother Naija star, Maria Chike Benjamin, has claimed that she didn’t know her lover, Kelvin, was married when they started dating.

She stated this in a recent interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, while speaking on the controversy surrounding her relationship with her partner.

Recall that back in 2021, the reality TV star was accused of snatching Kelvin from his wife by Nigerian socialite, Cubana Chiefpriest, who said the victim is his sister.

Maria, however, did not confirm or refute the rumour until July 2022, when she went on a Twitter rage to address the rumour ‘once and for all’.

She stated that she did not ruin anybody’s home or snatch anybody’s husband, adding that she choose to remain silent about the rumour for the best interest of those involved.

In a recent interview with Chude, Maria, again, maintained that she did not ruin Kelvin’s marriage, and that she chose to remain silent about the rumor for the sake of those concerned.

She further revealed that she had no idea that he was married when they first met and started dating.

Her words,

17-year-old American ends things with himself after being sɘxually extorted by three Nigerian men

A 17-year-old American boy, Jordan DeMay, has committed suicide after he was sexually extorted by three Nigerian nationals, Samuel Ogoshi, 22, Samson Ogochi, 20, and Ezekiel Ejehem Robert, 19.

The suspects reportedly bought hacked Instagram accounts which they used to lure teenage and young adult males into sexual chats while posing as women.

One of the profiles used was one with the username “dani.robertts” on Instagram, which chatted with Jordan shortly before his death.

After initiating a chat with the boys and getting their nudes, they use Google and other online platforms to get more information about their victims, such as their family, location, school, and work.

The suspects then threaten to leak a collage of their explicit images to others, including their family, friends, and classmates, via social media unless they paid money.

According to the grand jury, on March 25, 2022 when DeMay was enticed to send a nude photo of himself, Samuel Ogoshi extorted him using the dani.robertts account.

The three defendants, all of Lagos, Nigeria, have been charged in a four-count indictment. The police chief, who spoke during a press conference in Liberia, revealed that Josh Wade whose real name is Nichola Davies, is a notorious scammer who targets wealthy women, enters into romantic relationships with them, and ultimately dupes them of their fortunes.

The police further revealed that Davies carried out similar operations against other women who come forward with complaints against him.

He was tracked down and arrested in Liberia after 20 Liberian women reported being duped and robbed of their valuables by him. He was allegedly in the process of planning another scam against a victim when he was arrested.
