American rapper and business mogul, Rick Ross has remarked that empowering friends and family is one of the most important strategies for remaining wealthy.

According to the Hip Hop artist, if someone is wealthy and everyone else around them is poor, it will only cause trouble for that individual.

During an interview on Hot 107.9 FM, the Maybach Music founder pointed out that if a wealthy person makes investments that empower individuals in their circle, they would no longer need to request financial favors or aid.

According to Rick Ross, the person would have to educate his circle about the strategy in order to empower them and help them understand that they shouldn’t ask for anything if they aren’t willing to work and earn their own money.

The music producer claimed that his mother and sister haven’t asked him for anything in years since he adopted the philosophy in his nuclear family.

Ross said;

“Staying rich – one of the biggest keys to that is empowering your circle, empowering your family, because you being rich and everybody else being broke next to you, it’s only going to be so long before you’re jammed up.

Ondo lady, Chef Deo crosses 14-hour mark, aims to break Hilda Baci’s record

Nigerian chef, Adeyeye Adeola, also known as Chef Deo is engaged in an outstanding culinary endeavor in an effort to break Hilda Baci’s previous record for the longest cooking marathon.

The Ile-Oluji Local Government Area of Ondo State hosted Adeola’s cook-a-thon, which started on June 30 and is scheduled to end on July 6, 2023.

In order to test the boundaries of culinary endurance, another Nigerian chef, Adeparusi Damilola, commonly known as Chef Dammy, recently completed a 120-hour cook-a-thon in the Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, now holds the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon (person), completing it in a stunning 93 hours and 11 minutes.

She attempted to break the record from May 11 to May 15, preparing more than 100 pots of meals in only four days.

The Guinness World Records has officially recognized Hilda Baci’s accomplishment after carefully examining the available data.

Chef Deo who plans to break Hilda Baci’s record has now cooked for 14 hours non stop.

Anita announced on Twitter that she will soon travel to Nigeria to attend a meet-and-greet event with other Nigerians.

Man disappears with N55m Benz during test-drive in Abuja

The Abuja police command is presently looking for a person who is said to have fled with a Mercedes Benz GLB 250.

An auto dealer named Manga had filed a complaint alleging that a man named Henry, who claimed to live in Gwarinpa disappeared with one of his vehicles.

Manga’s friend, who also sells automobiles, drove the N55 million, 19000-mile Benz to the Henry for a test drive. After a brief break in the test drive, Manga’s companion left to make a cash withdrawal from a point of sale (PoS) employee and Henry drove off in the automobile.

Manga told TheCable;

“They negotiated N55m for the car and he said okay and demanded test-driving the car. He drove the car with my friend sitting on the passenger side of the vehicle and they drove out to the filling station opposite the automatic car wash in Garki to buy petrol before the test drive.

Immediately my friend stepped out of the car at the filling station to withdraw money from the PoS operator to buy fuel, the guy zoomed off with the vehicle.

You know how it is, there’s no traffic, no hold-up in Abuja and that’s how he absconded with the car.”

Josephine Ameh, spokesperson of Abuja police command, also told newsmen that officers are tracking the suspect.

She said;

“The incident has been reported to us and we have started tracking the suspect but as of now, we do not have any further update.
It is a huge loss to the vehicle owner and we are committed to getting to the root of the incident.”

US Federal prosecutors have asked a judge to sentence convicted internet fraudster, Hushpuppi’s partner Woodberry to 14 years imprisonment over an $8 million scam.

According to sources, US Federal prosecutors requested that online fraudster Woodberry serve 14 years in prison for scamming many US businesses.

Eight counts were presented against Hushpuppi in the US court, and he and his companion Woodberry pleaded guilty to one of those counts. Woodberry agreed to turn over $8 million in wire fraud earnings as well as expensive automobiles and timepieces to the foreign government after entering a guilty plea.

“The government recommends that this court sentence the defendant to 168 months’ imprisonment, which is sufficient, but not greater than necessary, to comply with the purposes set forth in 18 U.S.C. § 3553(a),” the prosecutors said. “The government further recommends that the court order restitution and forfeiture as described above and impose a special assessment of $100.”

Recall that Hushpuppi and Mr Woodbery amongst others were nabbed by Interpol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI in Dubai in June, 2020.

Court acquits woman charged with assaulting a police officer

A Magistrates’ Court in Eti-Osa, Lagos, has acquitted a 33-year-old woman, Olufumilayo Erioluwa, who was remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre for allegedly assaulting a police officer.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, had disclosed in a Twitter post on Tuesday, May 16, that Erioluwa was remanded in Kirikiri prison for allegedly assaulting a police officer in the Ogombo area of Ajah, Lagos State.

Sharing a picture of the woman grabbing a police officer by the uniform, Hundeyin wrote:

“Somewhere in Ogombo yesterday, she assaulted a police officer. She was arraigned today and has been remanded in the Kirikiri correctional facility until June 6 when the case comes up again in court.”

He also alleged that she was arraigned before Magistrate M. O. Alao on two counts bordering on assault and resisting arrest at the Magistrate Court of Lagos, Eti-Osa.

The charge against her read:

“That you, Olufumilayo Erioluwa, on May 14, 2023, around 9 pm, at Ajah, Eti-Osa, in the Lagos Magistrate District, did commit a felony with a serious assault on one Olufowobi Nureni, an Inspector, and hereby commit an offense under Section 174 Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

“That you, Olufumilayo Erioluwa, on the same date, time, and place, in the aforementioned Magisterial District, assaulted, resisted, obstructed, and unlawfully prevented one Olufowobi Nureni, an Inspector attached to the Ogombo Divisional Headquarters, in the course of executing his lawful and official duty, and thereby committed an offense punishable under Section 174 (b) (c) and (e) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State.”

Human rights activist, Inibehe Effiong, and his team took over Eriolowa’s case.

According to Effiong, the police could not produce a witness and the complainant in court. Additionally, the Kirikiri Correctional Center did not produce Eriolowa in court.

Effiong further revealed that they were working on perfecting her bail terms when the case was struck out.

“On June 6, when the case came up a second time, my team and I were able to secure bail for her. She was granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

“The complainant, Olufowobi Nureni, who claimed he was assaulted, did not show up in court for all the times the case was in court. The Kirikiri Correctional Centre did not also produce her in court, and the case was adjourned a third time till June 27, 2023.

“We had, however, taken steps to perfect the bail before the charge was struck out. The police could not provide any evidence, witness, or complainant in court, and so we pleaded that the case be struck out, and the Magistrate saw reason with us and did the right thing according to the law. She is freed and discharged, and the charges against her have been struck out on June 27, 2023.” He said.

Popular Nigerian clergyman and philanthropist, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has been hospitalized over an undisclosed illness.

The Port Harcourt-based pastor and founder of Omega Power Ministries (OPM) reportedly collapsed at the airport on Thursday, June 29, and was quickly rushed to the hospital.

Apostle Chibuzor, who confirmed the development on his official Facebook page, shared a photo of himself on a hospital bed and asked his followers to pray for him.

“Please put me in your prayers,” he captioned the photo.

Fans and followers have since stormed the comment section of the pastor’s post to pray for his quick recovery.

A mother is currenty in a dilemma and is seeking advice on how to inform her 30-year-old daughter that her brother is actually her father.

According to Mail Online, the unidentified woman wrote to The Atlantic’s Dear Therapist column to reveal this unusual situation.

She explained that when she and her husband got married, he already had two children of his own, while she had none.

Although they both desired to have a child together, her husband had previously undergone a vasectomy, which was irreversible. As a result, they had to find an alternative solution.

In her letter to the publication, the woman wrote,

“We didn’t want to use a sperm bank, so we asked my husband’s son to be the donor. We believed this was the best decision as our child would have my husband’s genetic traits, and we were aware of my stepson’s good health, personality, and intelligence. He agreed to help. Now that our daughter is 30, how do we tell her that her ‘father’ is her grandfather, her ‘brother’ is her father, her ‘sister’ is her aunt, and her ‘nephew’ is her half-brother?”

She further expressed her anxiety, and worry about revealing this information. She said the situation is also challenging for her husband, as he wants their daughter to understand that he will always be her father.

In response, psychotherapist and columnist Lori Gottlieb acknowledged that the woman’s daughter will need to come to terms with two challenging truths: the identity of her biological father and the fact that her parents have kept this information hidden for three decades.

Gottlieb then proceeded to provide advice on how to approach such sensitive topic.

Firstly, she emphasized the importance of stating the facts in a simple and clear manner and offering a sincere apology. Gottlieb encouraged the mother to take full responsibility for not revealing the truth from the beginning, avoiding making excuses.

A Nigerian woman, Mrs. Martina Okey Itagbor, was accused of witchcraft and burnt to death by the youths of Old Netim, Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State.

The deceased, who was a mother of four girls, was accused of causing the death of two men who lost their lives in a motor accident.

It was gathered that the men, alongside other youths in the community, chattered a bus to the inauguration ceremony of the member representing Akamkpa 1 State Constituency, Hon. Okon Owuna.

Sadly, they were involved in a fatal accident and two of them died on the spot, while several others suffered injuries of varying degrees.

A day after the accident, some youths stormed Martina’s house and dragged her to the main road, accusing her of masterminding the accident and death of the two youths using witchcraft.

She was then beaten to a pulp and set ablaze by the angry mobs who watched her burn to ashes in the early hours of Sunday, June 18. After watching her burn to ashes, they reportedly swept the remains into the gutter and washed the road.

A gory video of the incident is already circulating on social media, in which the half-naked woman is shown being burnt to death in the middle of the paved road.

One of the deceased’s daughters revealed that the community leader, Ntufam Augustine Nyong Orok, ‘enabled’ the heinous act and asked her mother to defend herself if she was not a witch.

They also reported the first attack to the police but they were allegedly in fear because gangsters were involved.

Nigerian writer, Solomon Buchi has taken to social media to address men who believe they are saving a woman and taking away her shame by marrying her.

In a post shared via Twitter, Solomon informed such men that they are not doing a woman any favour by marrying her and they should quit being full of themselves.

He also tackled men who believe that if they are rejected by a woman, she will suffer and live to regret abandoning them.

According to him, those men are completely delusional and should limit their viewing of Nollywood movies because they are not the only good guys out there.

The self-acclaimed life coach tweeted,

“Dear men,
When you’re asking a woman to marry you, you’re not saving her. You’re not taking away her shame; there’s no shame there. You’re not doing her a favour. Stop sounding like she needs to marry you to get life fixed, and if she rejects you, she won’t suffer, neither would she regret it. You’re not the only great guy as you’ve made yourself believe. Reduce watching Nollywood too.”

Nigerian superstar singer Wizkid’s response to a female fan who asked to go home with him has caused a stir.

The “Ojuelegba” crooner made an appearance at a recent event, and while performing on stage, a fan from the crowd expressed her love for the singer.

In a heartwarming response, Wizkid told her that he loves her too.

She then mentioned that she wanted to go home with him. However, in a surprising response, Wizkid politely turned her down.

He humorously noted that it wouldn’t be possible as he was accompanied by two of his girlfriends to the venue, and he would be returning home with them.

A South African woman, identified as Tinah, has narrated how she ended her ten-year marriage after her husband slept with another woman on their matrimonial bed.

She shared this on Twitter on Thursday, June 29, 2023, while responding to a tweet asking women to share the most painful thing a man has done to them.

The tweet read, “What’s the most painful thing a man has ever done to you?”

In her reply, Tinah revealed that she ended her marriage of 10 years after she found out he slept with another woman when she was 8 months pregnant with their daughter.

“Slept with a woman in our marital bed, and I was 8 months pregnant with our daughter. Ended a marriage of 10 years as a result,” she wrote.

In other news, a young lady has shared the disturbing and insensitive messages she received from her partner during her pregnancy.

The unidentified lady, who appears to still be pregnant, took to TikTok to post screenshots of the horrible messages she received from her child’s father.

Though it is unclear whether she is married to the said man, they are clearly living under the same roof howbeit in different rooms, as seen in the chats.

In the screenshots, the man accused her of trying to use the pregnancy to tie him down and threatened to make her life a living hell.

Veteran Nigerian comedian, Okey Bakassi, has issued a public service announcement to his friends and family members planning to seek financial assistance from him.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday, June 30, Okey Bakassi stated that he is currently unable to provide any financial support to his them.

He stated that he will only be able to help when he confirms where the government is taking the country to economically.

The 53-year-old comedian tweeted,

A young Nigerian lady has taken to social media to publicly expose a man who criticized her for not cleaning his dirty kitchen.

According to the lady who goes by the Twitter handle @IkpeKachiee, she paid a visit to his place for the first time this year and met the dirty state of his kitchen.

She said she was shocked by the unkempt condition of his kitchen, but was even more surprised when the man expressed his anger with her for not cleaning up the place.

Taking to Twitter, she shared a video of the man’s kitchen, which was in a state of disarray, with dishes and pots strewn everywhere. She further lambasted her host for expecting her to clean up after him.

She tweeted,

“You guys, the funniest thing happened to me today. Hold on let me laugh finish. 🤣🤣

UK-based Nigerian woman calls out Nigerian government after obtaining her daughter’s British passport without any stress (video)

A UK-based Nigerian woman, Chioma Iyagba, has taken to social media to call out the Nigerian government after seamlessly obtaining her daughter’s British passport.

Chioma shared a video on her Instagram page in which she criticized the Nigerian government for always making life difficult for its citizens.

According to her, to secure her daughter’s British passport, she filled out a form online and only stepped out of the house to send her old passport to the immigration office.

She also revealed that the new passport she applied for was delivered to her house in the UK, and she received it without breaking any sweat.

Comparing it to her experience when she wanted to renew her Nigerian passport, she revealed that the line at the Nigerian immigration office was extremely long, and the people were treated like refugees.

Chioma expressed her displeasure with way things are done by the Nigerian government and urged them to emulate good practices from other countries and make life easier for its citizens.

She captioned the video,

“Not sure how why our leaders can never copy ways to make the lives of their citizens easier. It’s only how to make suffer more they constantly research.”

Self-proclaimed relationship expert, Blessing Okoro, has berated Nigerian superstar singer Davido following allegations that he cheated on his wife, Chioma.

The Timeless star made headlines after two ladies accused him of impregnating them.

The first lady, Anita Brown, an American businesswoman, came forward with evidence on Tuesday, alleging that she is pregnant with Davido’s child.

While the internet was still buzzing with Anita’s revelation, another woman, Ivanna Bay from France, also came forward with proof, alleging that she is carrying the singer’s child.

These allegations have since spurred a barrage of reactions from social media users, who heavily criticized the married singer.

Reacting via a video she shared on her social media page, the self-acclaimed relationship coach berated Davido for disrespecting his wife in that manner.

She told him that posting her online and publicly professing his love for her is not love. According to her, he’s only manipulating her because she’s soft.

“If you want to make Chioma special, at least if you want to sleep with other women, I understand you’re a musician, use a condom na. Let it be that Chioma is the one woman that you sleep with without a condom. Aren’t you afraid of giving her STDs? You bring this woman online every day and show us how much you love her.

That is not love. You’re manipulating this girl, maybe because she is soft, maybe because she loves you so much. But to be very honest, Davido, you are disrespecting Chioma,” she said.

“I’ve slept with 10,000 women” – Manchester City star, Benjamin Mendy

A jury on Wednesday, June 28, heard that Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy raped a woman and then bragged about sleeping with 10,000 women.

BBC reports that the French international is accused of raping the woman, aged 24 at the time, at his £4m mansion in Mottram St Andrew, Cheshire in October 2020.

Mendy, who is facing a retrial at Chester Crown Court, was also accused of attempting to rape another woman who was 29 at the time after she slept with his friend.

This comes after he was acquitted of a series of sexual assaults on women in January. He was found not guilty of six rapes and one sexual assault against four women, but the jury was unable to reach a decision on the two remaining allegations against him.

The prosecution counsel, Benjamin Aina KC, who outlined the case before the court, said Mendy raped one of the women during a party at his house in October 2020.

He was alleged to have seized her phone at the house’s swimming pool area and proceeded upstairs to his bedroom, while the woman followed him, demanding her phone back.

The bedroom doors reportedly locked behind her and when she told Mendy she wanted to leave, he said he wanted to see her naked first. The woman, responding, told Mendy she didn’t want to sleep with him and only wanted her phone back.

Mendy replied that he would return it if she took her clothes off, saying: “I just wanna have a look at you. I promise you I wont touch you. I just wanna see what you look like. I wanna see your body. I wanna see your t***. Your t*** are so big.”

Mendy is claimed to have thrown her on the bed and raped her after she removed her clothes but left her underwear on.

When she resisted him, he told her she was “too shy,” adding that “It’s fine.” I’ve had sex with 10,000 different ladies.’

She left his house after the rape and told her friends and family what had happened to him.

Mendy, on the other hand, told cops that he had ‘consensual’ sexual activity with the woman, including oral sex, but that he stopped when he realized she didn’t want to do anything else.

The trial, which is expected to last up to three weeks, continues.

American businesswoman, Anita Brown, claiming to be pregnant for Nigerian singer Davido, has taken to Twitter to drag him to filth.

Recall that Anita recently announced via her Instagram page that she’s carrying the singer’s child. To support her claim, she released multiple screenshots of purported chats between herself and the singer, including where he asked her to handle the pregnancy like other girls in the past.

However, since her social media outburst on Tuesday, the singer is yet to react and only shared a poster of his hit song, “Unavailable,” amid the drama.

Well, following this, Anita Brown has now gone on a ranting spree on Twitter. In a series of tweets via her Twitter handle, she lambasted the 30 BG boss, calling him a wicked man who takes advantage of women.

She queried if he would have married Chioma if their son, Ifeanyi, didn’t die. You will recall that Davido secretly tied the knot with his long-time partner, Chioma, after the death of their son in October last year.

She expressed surprise that Davido showers praises on his wife Chioma on social media when he called her manic to her.

“Her baby died months ago, and you call her manic to the girl you’re sleeping with?!? But I’m supposed to feel sympathy? This is the person y’all look up to? Lmao.
