Popular reality star, Queen Mercy Atang has expressed displeasure with aspiring chef, Dammy for starting a Cook-a-Thon when Hilda Baci’s accomplishment was not acknowledged.
The Ekiti chef recently attracted attention after she took on the audacious goal of cooking for 120 hours in an effort to beat the record of 100 hours achieved by Hilda Baci, another Nigerian chef, less than a month earlier.
There have been a variety of reactions to this, with some expressing dissatisfaction while others have cheered and noted that the sky is big enough for everyone.
She claims that while she respects chef Dammy’s zeal, she disagrees with her action, which she has characterized as premature.
According to her, it was like depriving someone of their long awaited dream and goal.
She wrote;
“While I appreciate Dami’s passion, I must express my disagreement with her actions. Hilda Bacci patiently waited for five years after Lata Tondon set the record for the longest cooking time. Unfortunately, the Guinness World Records (GWR) has not yet recognized Hilda’s achievement by awarding her the certificate she deserves. This situation feels like depriving someone of their long-awaited dream and goal. It’s unlikely that anyone else would have considered attempting this feat if Hilda hadn’t done it. While competition can be beneficial, it should always be healthy and fair.”
A man from Kwara State, Sheshi Daudu Maza, has taken to social media to express delight after his two wives each gave birth to a child at a few hour’s intervals.
Hussaina, the first wife delivered a baby girl on Thursday, June 8, hours later, on June 9, the second wife, Maryam, gave birth to a second baby girl.
The wonderful news was announced by Sheshi, a reputedly well-known Nupe singer, on his Facebook page.
“God’s blessing may come as a surprise, and how much u receive, depends on how much ur heart can believe. My first wife Hussaina, she as gave birth to a bouncing baby girl both mother and the child are well sounded ok.
Fly in the plane of Ambition & Land in the Airport of Success. God as blessed us with another baby girl again, my second wife Maryam just put to birth, both mother and the child are medically sound ok,” he wrote.
Popular Nigerian singer,Davido has disclosed that he had found it easier to travel abroad because he had an American passport.
The US-born artiste stated this in an interview with Omega and added that his blue passport is worth more than a million dollars.
Davido claimed that because of his passport, he is always at an advantage when other members of his band are having trouble obtaining their visas to travel for concerts abroad.
The “Unavailable,” crooner nevertheless, acknowledged his satisfaction in being a Nigerian.

Nigerian singer, Kingsley Okonkwo, professionally known as Kcee, has disclosed that the profits from his collaborative gospel album, “Cultural Praise,” with Okwesili Eze Group, exceed the earnings from his whole secular music career.
The ‘Limpopo’ made this disclosure while being interviewed on Cool 96.9 FM, Lagos.
According to Kcee who is signed to his brother’s label Five Star Music, the gospel album is his most streamed work to date.
The artist claimed that after he released the album, many people wrote him off since they thought his career was over.

Popular Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing, has taken a swipe at controversial Instagram blogger, Gistlover, as she exposes how the blogger was scammed of 2.5 million naira.
The thespian, in a post on her Instagram page, revealed that the faceless blogger was scammed of 2.5 million naira after paying N2.5 million to get verified on Instagram.
She claimed that Gistlover had lied about his page being verified by Instagram and even celebrated the feat.
However, just recently, Gistlover’s Instagram verification badge, along with those of others who paid for a similar service, was revoked.
To corroborate her claim, Nkechi shared a snapshot of her chat with Gistlover, where the blogger advertised the services of the vendor to her.

The lady who was ridiculed for allegedly eating N12k worth of meal during a date and being unable to pay, has taken to Twitter to share her side of the story.
Recall that a video that recently trended online shows the moment she was embarrassed by a young man who insisted that she must pay for eating 12,000 naira food.
It was alleged that she ordered a more expensive dinner than the man could afford, so he told her to pay for it. Things escalated quickly and she followed him to his car where he insulted and berated her for being unable to pay her own bills. Watch here
Following the massive criticisms she received on the internet for allegedly eating more than she could afford, the lady has come out to explain her side of the story.
In a series of tweets, the woman identified as @DoreenKimberly1 on Twitter, narrated how she met the young man who invited her on a date. She recounted how they went out together on Saturday, May 13, and ate a meal that cost 12k.
However, the man began complaining about his bank app and went to his car to wait for his friend, whom he had called to help with the payment.
When the friend arrived, things took a different turn as he asked her to leave her phone at the restaurant and return to pay the bill the next day.
She said she became furious and said she would have paid for the food if her phone battery was not low. Fortunately, she eventually found a way to charge her phone and pay the bill and left the scene.
She added that she is planning to sue the man for filming her without her consent, and making the video public to spite and publicly embarrass her.

On the day that this video was recorded, he kept calling me to get ready. When I was done, he drove down to pick me up from my location. We then went to the restaurant. He was talking about his bank app having issues but said he was trying to resolve it.
After eating, he kept saying that his bank app was having issues and after using my power bank to charge his phone, he went to the car to stay. According to him, he was still trying to resolve the issue. He told me to just wait inside.
As I was still waiting…he told me that his friend was coming to help him settle the issue…the said friend came and was still saying the same thing…I asked him what was going on and he told me to still wait that he was making some “business” calls…For 12k?🤦🏽♀️
As I was still waiting inside, his friend came into the restaurant and told me just drop my phone for the restaurant and come back to pay the bill the next day…I was so shocked to hear that so I went to the car to ask the guy I came with what the issue was
I got to the car and knocked on the window, they didn’t want to open the car or the car window until later on…when they opened the car window, I was already very angry and I started shouting…that was when his low life friend started to record me

All they did was to keep recording me and saying nonsense. It was a security guy that saw the drama that later went around to get a charger for me and I went inside, charged my phone and when my phone came on, I went to the counter, asked for their account number and paid the bill
After I paid the bill, I came outside. These guys were still waiting and when they saw I had paid, they zoomed off leaving me there to my fate. It was late at this point. I got a car to take me home afterwards. This event happened on the 13th of May.

Well, a young woman has taken to social media to reveal that she has started a 130-hour fry-a-thon and plans to fry puff-puff for 130 hours.
She shared photos of herself in the kitchen kneading dough and frying them and called for the support of Nigerians.

A female officer of the Nigerian Air Force, simply identified as George, has allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her home in Ikeja, Lagos State.
On Saturday, June 10, 2023, George, a Master Warrant Officer assigned to the 651 Base Services Group Resident at Block T5 Flat 8 at Sam Ethnan Air Force Base Ikeja, reportedly killed herself.
According to information provided to Counter-Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst Zagaza Makama by an intelligence source, the officer was discovered deceased in her chamber on Sunday, June 11.
Three Air Provosts who arrived with another team of troops to transport the body to the 661 Nigerian Air Force Hospital declared her dead.
“Master Warrant Officer George a female Personnel of the Nigerian Air Force serving at 651 Base Services Group Resident at Block T5 Flat 8 in Sam Ethnan Air Force Base Ikeja reported to have committed suicide inside her room at about 1400hrs on 10 Jun 23. Efforts are ongoing by 3 Air Provost to evacuate her to 661NAFH, while further investigation will continue,” the source said.

A young lady has stirred controversy online with her claims that Ekiti chef, Damilola Adeparusi trying to break Hilda Baci’s record is charging N1000 to serve the food being made.
The young chef from Ekiti state has embarked on a 120-hour cooking marathon in an attempt to beat Hilda’s record for the longest individual cooking time. However, Hilda’s feat has not yet been confirmed by the Guinness World Records.
The young lady took to Tiktok to call out the chef for selling the food during her 120-hour cook-a-thon competition for the longest cooking duration as it was against the Guinness world records rule to charge for the food.
Te lady claimed that food made at the cooking marathon was free for the first day, however, Chef Dammy allegedly put a price of N1K and made it mandatory for those interested.
“So, coming from the stable of information, they said that no free food today. You have to pay N1K if you want to eat food; yesterday was free,” she said.
