Controversial writer and activist, Reno Omokri has used the crises in Sudan and the Ukraine to argue that Nigeria is not the worst nation in the world.
Amidst the effort to evacuate stranded Nigerians in Sudan, the activist stirred reactions on social media with a notion to correct a stereotype about Nigeria.
Reno Omokri claimedĀ that the safest course of action for Nigerians in South African, Ukrainian, and Sudanese crises was to return home.
He maintained that despite the alleged promise of a greener pasture outside of Nigeria, there are just as many unexpected problems there.
In his words;
āBefore we open our mouths to run down Nigeria and call or the worst country in the world (it is not), let us learn from the Sudan crisis. With war raging in Sudan, what happened to Nigerians who had japaāed to Sudan?
They are all trying to come home. When war hit Ukraine, what happened to Nigerians there? They were airlifted back home. When the xenophobic attacks erupted in South Africa, Nigerians were begging to be airlifted back home.
Why? Because not all that glitters is gold. And not every house is as good as your home. May God bless Nigeria and Nigerians!ā

Nollywood actress, Joy Tambou has revealed her opinions on colleagues engaging inĀ sexual relationsĀ with movie producers or directors.
In an interview with The Nation, Tambou said that having a sexual relationship with someone is completely voluntary and the producers should not be blamed.

The first lady of Ondo state. Betty Akeredolu, has demanded that only women be given the opportunity to serve as deputy governors in Nigeria.
Akeredolu took the decision in response to the lack of female politicians who were successful in her home state,Ā Imo state’s last general election.
Ms. Akeredolu criticized the exclusion of women from nearly all spheres of society, including politics, in a statement that was made public.

According to Ciata, she paid N4 million for a plot of property that had already been sold, and she later learned that the scammer she had paid was well known for doing such land sales.

A power surge-related fire hasĀ completely destroyed a portion of the Ooni of Ife’s palace.
At around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, April 28, the palace’s courtyard was entirely ravaged by fire, not long after the electrical equipment in the impacted apartment burst.
AccordingĀ toĀ reports,Ā the fire was put outĀ with the joint efforts of locals, palace staff, and the fire department.

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, has received harsh criticism for objectifying women in his new music video.
Portable took to his Instagram page to share snippets from the video shoot, which featured popular skit makers Broda Shaggi and OGB Recent, as well as Big Brother Naija star Hermes.

A lecturer in the Medical Laboratory department at Imo State University (IMSU), Dr. Desmond Izunwanne, has been called out for assaulting a female student in his class.
A video trending on social media shows the moment he slapped the student for wearing mufti to class, despite her explanation that she had just returned from the hospital.
The student, who is reportedly pregnant, was singled out and confronted by the lecturer because she didn’t wear the conventional white uniform to class.
The lady, in her response, explained that she was sick and had gone to the hospital before coming to his class but that fell on deaf ears as he proceeded to slap her and ordered her to kneel down.
He also slapped another female student for wearing a blue outfit to his class.

A Dutch court has ordered a sperm donor, Jonathan M. who is suspected of being the biological father of over 550 children to cease all further donations.
The mother of one of the purported offspring and a nonprofit safeguarding the rights of donor children have filed lawsuits against him as a result of the recent fertility crisis that has shocked the Netherlands.
Jonathan was revealed to have fathered between 550 and 600 children since he started sperm donation in 2007, despite Dutch professional standards stating that a donor should not father more than 25 children within 12 households.
Judge Thera Hesselink said on Friday, therefore, āprohibits the defendant from donating his semen to new prospective parents after the issuing of this judgement.
With the wish that he was willing to donate semenā¦ advertise his services to prospective parents or join any organisation that establishes contact between prospective parents.
Should he continue with his donations, he would face a 100,000-euro ($110,000) fine for every transgression, as well as additional fines,ā the court ruled.

Nigerian producer and singer, Phillip Kayode Moses, professionally known as Pheelz, has revealed that he borrowed the clothes he wore to perform at Davidoās O2 concert in London last year.

Nollywood actress, Jumoke Odetola has taken to social media to lament bitterly after spending endless hours in Lagos traffic.
In a post on Friday, April 28, the actress said she spent a grueling 10 hours in traffic from Ajah to Magodo, leaving her to wonder how anyone can live long in the state.
According to her, she got home around 2am despite leaving her workplace by 4pm the previous day and travelling within the same state.
Jumoke shared photos of herself on the road, looking fatigued, and said she would have spent the hours doing productive work or resting.
She wrote,

A young lady has shared a shocking tale of how she did not know she was 5 months pregnant while she was raising her 8-month-old daughter.
A video making the rounds on social media captured the emotional narration of a mother who had two kids under a year.
The woman said that because her belly was growing, she would constantlyĀ use a waist trainer. She was not aware that she was expecting another child, which surprised her.
In her video narration, she wrote;
āLetās talk abt how I got pregnant for 5 months without knowing. Few months after giving birth to my daughter, I was growing lean but I thought it was bcoz I was doing exclusive breastfeeding.
I had not yet menstruated which is normal. No sickness, not even a sign of pregnancy. My daughter was growing very well despite my hidden pregnancy. I was putting on waist trainers each very time without knowing I was pregnant.
I finally found out and started antenatal, my daughter was 8 months then. I still breastfeeded her till she was 11 months old. Things werenāt easy at all. I was preparing her for her birthday shoot. I was 8 months pregnant.ā
Popular Nollywood actor, Kunle Remi has spoken up about being left out of the nominations for the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) 2023 despite his lead role in the movie, Anikulapo.
Recall that during the 2023 edition of the AMVCA event, Anikulapo received 16 nominations in 15 categories but Kunle made none.
Addressing the issue during an interview on the TV show āYour Viewā, Kunle Remi stated that the snub did not affect his worth or fame.
“I fall into the category of the none nominated artists, it is a new category. It is not my show, its their show. I like the fact that the world spoke, people spoke but we can’t have the answers to that, only them have the answers. But for me it doesn’t reduce my value, it doesn’t make me less of a screen God.
Anikulapo which is what people were expecting still broke the record it broke, still number one watched language film next to Squid Game globally. I put in the work, I saw the efforts and I didn’t do that because of the award, I did it because it was a challenge and it is such a privilege to play that character and we would never forget Saro, I think that’s the greatest award.”
Popular Nollywood thespian, Yetunde Bakare has opined that It’s harder to retain real love after you discover it than to find it in the first place.
In a recent interview with Punch Saturday Beats, she discussed this and gave her views.
She claimedĀ that individuals frequently determine their current relationships in light of their prior experiences, and when anything negative occurs, they quickly retreat in order to maintain their mental stability.
In her words,
āFinding true love is harder than keeping it. It is more complicated nowadays, because a lot of people have had bad experiences and they tend to withdraw easily in order to protect their peace and sanity.
I believe one needs to love, value and discover oneself before thinking of a healthy relationship.”
Speaking on people equating fame to happiness, she stated that it was not true because the rich also cry.
She said;
āThat is not totally true, because the rich also cry. If one is a people pleaser, one will have a lot of breakdowns keeping up with fame.
When one is famous, the expectations from the public will be on the high side. People will hardly understand that one is human too.ā
Nigerian skit maker, Amarachi Amusi, also known as Ashmusy, has bought two Toyota cars as a gift for her employees.
Posting onĀ her official Instagram page, she announced the car gifts and named the people she wanted to surprise.
She revealedĀ that Kosi had tirelessly worked withĀ her firm for five years and that she had been a part of it from the beginning.
The second automobile, according to the content creator, was intended for use by her real estate company’s employees as an official vehicle.
Ashmusy had asked the Kosi to come to her home with some beauty products for a client, but she was unaware that there was no customer and it was all part of a surprise to make her a car owner.
She shared a video which showed the lovely moment she presented one of the cars to Kosi and moved the lady to emotions.

Popular Nigerian gospel singer, Moses Bliss has warmed the hearts of many after he gifted his personal barber and two colleagues brand new cars.
The ‘Daddy wey dey pamper’ crooner took to his Instagram page to share a video of the heartwarming moment he presented the cars to his barber, Klint Cutz, and his fellow gospel singers, Ebuka songs and Doris Joseph.
He disclosed that he has known his barber, who also doubles as his backup singer, since 2014 and the car gift is a reward for his years of service.
Moses wrote,

Controversial Nollywood actress, Monalisa Stephen, has revealed that she’s in an open relationship with two men.
The body positivity activist, who is never shy to share interesting details about her personal life, made this revelation in a recent interview.
When asked about her relationship status, she explained that although she is seeing someone, since they are not married, she is open to dating other men as well.

A Nigerian attorney based in the United States has taken to Twitter to lament the downside of relocating abroad in search of greener pastures.
The man who goes by the handle @ike_obiora revealed that moving overseas has caused him to miss three major family events, including the funeral of his beloved grandmother who raised him and his two uncles.
According to the man who was reflecting on the disadvantages of relocating abroad, he is concerned that his children will miss out on the joys of bonding with their cousins and extended family.
He concluded by saying traveling out of Nigeria is good but it is costly.
I was raised by my Grandma, she died 3yrs ago & I wasn’t there.
My Uncle died 2021, I wasn’t there. Another of my Uncle just died yesterday, and I won’t be there again.
I haven’t seen some of my nephews since their birth.

I don’t even want to start counting important events in the lives of friends and family that I have missed.

Families are separated for live only to reunite again at the burial of their parents, if all will be there.
I grew up bonding with my cousins at Grandma’s house. We will always be there for “į»¤ka Nne” celebration chanting “Nnem ife dį» mma ka mį»„ ga-emere gį»” song after overfeeding on į»„kwa and Co. Christmas, New year and Easter celebrations are not left out too.
Now, everything is pointing towards me raising children who will never get to have that familial bonding & relationship with their cousins and other relations. Not because I want to, but because it is what it is.
The very thing that made us who we are, are eroded on daily basis.
Nigeria really needs to work. We can’t continue like this in perpetuity.”
