Popular media personality, Toke Makinwa, has lamented bitterly over singer, Banky W’s loss to Labour Party candidate, Thaddeus Attah, at the polls.
It was earlier reported that Thaddeus defeated Banky W of the People Democratic Party (PDP) to emerge winner of the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.
The result was announced on Sunday at the Collation Centre in Lagos State Model Nursery and Primary School, Marwa, Lekki 1.

This comes after the clergyman took to Twitter to share his sentiment about the general election that took place on Saturday, February 25.

Operatives of the Cross River state police command have arrested a lecturer of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Calabar, Gabriel Agabi Akwaji, for impersonating an ad hoc official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Dr. Dominic Abakedi.
Akwaji, who wore an INEC reflective jacket, was arrested at the collation centre in Okpoma, Yala Local Government Area of the state, with a fake Bi-Modal Voter Accreditation System, or BVA machine, during the presidential and national assembly polls held on Saturday, February 25.
The ad hoc official who was impersonated, Dr. Abakedi, was posted to the Yache ward of the Yala Local Government Area, but Akwaji claimed that Abakedi told him to represent him and execute the job.
Trouble began when the collation officer could not be found after elections concluded at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mr. Akwaji is said to have arrived at the Okpoma, Yala Local Government Area headquarters at about 2:00 PM on Sunday in the company of chieftains of a political party after staying incommunicado since Saturday evening.
When his whereabouts were questioned, a scuffle erupted, with the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the State, Alphonsus Eba, Esq., engaging in a shirt-grabbing match with the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Sunday EmalujI.
Thereafter, Mr. Akwaji was arrested and brought to the INEC Area Office in Ogoja, where he claimed he was asked by Dr. Abakedi to replace him.
A BVAS found in his possession with the following number, 09/18/10/012, was queried and showed that 216 voters were accredited, but the result sheets showed 250 votes cast.
The suspect was whisked to the Ogoja Area Command for further interrogation by the Criminal Investigation Unit.
Meanwhile, Zannah Shettima, the Commissioner of Police in charge of elections in the district, declined to comment on the situation and said he had not yet received a briefing.
Reality TV star, Alex Asogwa also known as Alex Unusual, has rained hefty curses on celebrities who campaigned for APC Presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for their selfish reasons.
Alex went on a lengthy rant on Instagram to express her frustration with the ruling party following the reports of malpractices, rigging, and intimidation they allegedly perpetrated during the general election on Saturday, February 25.
According to her, she is utterly disappointed and have lost all respect for celebrities who supported the party for their selfish interest, rather than the greater good of the people.
She added that she bears no grudge against people who believe in APC’s mandate, but those who campaigned for the party for selfish reasons will never know peace.
The post reads,
“To the Nollywood stars, comedians and infact celebrities in general that decided to support APC because they have and will gain from the corruption and their government, I would have said “may your children and generation suffer for your heartlessness ” but those kids are innocent so I’ll leave them out of it.
May joy be far from you agents of darkness.
I have nothing against those that truly believe in the government of APC but you see those ones that are fully aware of everything these power hungry lunatics are doing wrong and are still standing by them, you don’t deserve anything good!!!
I’m letting my emotions take over what I choose to publicly say today because I’m almost frustrated.”
Nollywood actresses,Anita Joseph and Blessing Obasi, has reacted to claims that English-speaking actors were paid N3 million to campaign for a certain politician.
Yoruba actress, Basira Badia, made this claim on Sunday after her colleague, Adunni Ade alleged that some Yoruba actors and actresses were paid ‘peanut’ to campaign for Bola Tinubu.
Adunni, who went online to express her disappointment in these celebrities for selling their platform, alleged that they were paid the paltry sum of N90k to support Tinubu.
Badia felt offended by Adunni’s statement, and she went live on Instagram to lambaste and warn her to stop spewing trash.
She said, “My thing is going to Adunni Ade because I saw her video. Although she isn’t talking to me directly, she is talking to my platform, the group I belong to and I think I am part of the CGI group and I need to speak up because people have different narratives.”
She further claimed that English-speaking actors who attended Peter Obi’s stakeholder’s meeting were paid N3 million to campaign for him.
“Some English actors went for a dinner date and they gave them N3million”, she said.
Speaking further, she showered praises on MC Oluomo for taking care of her and her other colleagues without being tribalistic.
In reaction to the video, Anita Joseph slammed the actress for speaking in Yoruba, when she is addressing the public, and warned her to stop stressing her non-Yoruba speaking audience. She however didn’t confirm or deny her claim.
“What is this abeg hiaaa, please if you want to talk to the public add English don’t give us more headache abegiiii. INEC is enough wahala”, she commented.
Actress, Blessing Obasi, also opined that Badia is restless because she knows she is in the wrong.
“No peace for the wicked”, she commented.

Popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo has reacted to claims that her colleague, Dayo Amusa, was throwing shade at her in her post.
Recall that Dayo lambasted a certain “ingrate” for criticizing her benefactor and calling him a ‘thug’.
According to Dayo, when the person was busy collecting money for house rent, her children’s school fee, and other things, she didn’t know her benefactor was a ‘thug’.
See below,
The post sparked controversy online, with some netizens opining that she was referring to her colleague, Iyabo Ojo, and the thug in question is MC Oluomo.
There were speculations that Iyabo Ojo is the “ingrate” because she went against MC Oluomo’s political preference, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and declared support for Peter Obi of Labour Party.
Reacting, Iyabo Ojo dismissed claims that Dayo’s post was about her; explaining that MC Oluomo has never paid her house rent or her children’s school fee.
According to her, eventhough Tinubu has been of great help to herself and other people in the film industry, it is not enough reason to support his presidential ambition.
With regard to the criticisms she received for supporting Peter Obi instead of Tinubu, the actress said she believes that Tinubu is too old to lead Nigeria and cannot function effectively as President of Nigeria.
She added that Tinubu is a good Godfather and king maker, but she doesn’t believe that he should be President at this time.
According to her, her opposition to Tinubu’s presidency is for his own good because he is “old” and should be resting, instead of stressing himself.

Taking to her Instagram page, Georgina shared a lengthy post calling Chioma out for only speaking up and showing courage because she was directly affected.
According to her, during the 2019 general elections, Chioma slid into her DM and asked her to stop sharing posts showing the state of rigging and violence experienced in some parts of the country.
Georgia said Chioma told her that making such posts will affect her brand and can also lead to a riot and this brought an end to their long-time friendship because she blasted Chioma.
She wrote;
“PLEASE READ THE WHOLE WRITE UP.
I know many may wonder why I am posting this now or speaking about it now after four years. Well today’s situation was a reminder of how she mocked others privately and minimized their sufferings. But she felt the need to scream today because she was directly affected.
You do not only show bravery or compassion or empathy only when it affects you directly.
So this is Chioma screaming at the top of her lungs .
I hope she is safe. I wish her well and I pray her vote counts.
That being said this same Person Chioma had the temerity 4 years ago to tell me that my post will create riots and that the election was safe and free.

While I was posting those updates, Chioma Chukwu felt the need to tell me to stop. That I have a brand to protect and that I should say the election was peaceful.
She will never forget my responses to her and she unfollowed me and I blocked her as well. It is incumbent to end friendships with people who lack or sell their integrity and dignity for a few personal gains, I cut you off.
Many of our celebrities are compromised. They are all about their brands and stomach infrastructure.
Fast forward today, here she is shouting like a cow for her safety.
And I bet the last four years have not favored her hence the change of heart.
I am glad she had this experience today but came out safe. I wish her well and I hope she learns from this experience that you can not be in bed with the devil and have the moral authority to call it out.
When you see injustice in society, Call it out. Don’t sugar quote it. Don’t only scream when it affects you directly. Scream when it affects others as well.
So Chioma I forgive your ineptitude of 4 years ago and I wish you well. Incase you can’t see this I hope someone delivers this message to you.”
