Nigerian filmmaker, Charles Novia has claimed that the first shock that hits those arriving Lagos from an international flight is the pungent smell of the toilet at the airport.
Taking to Facebook to share his experience at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, the filmmaker bewailed the state of the airport and pointed out that the immigration officials also dress shabbily.
According to him, the state of the airport can be likened to that of Nigeria because things are equally ‘antiseptically shitty’ in the country.

“For those arriving Lagos from an International flight at the MMA International wing, the first shock which hits you as you step out of the plane is the smell of the toilets at the airport.
A pungent smell of shit and antiseptic smacks your nostrils. As you walk towards the immigration area, angry at the state of the airport having just come from a country with world class airport facilities, the next shock would be tardily dressed immigration officials (at least the day I arrived from my trip I saw a couple of them wearing slippers and smudged uniforms). That airport in Lagos, the old one, is the symbolism of the state of the nation right now.

“The devil lost, we overcame” — Former basketballer turned pastor recalls how ‘demons’ tried to stop him from marrying his wife
A former Canadian basketball player, Abednego Lufile, has recounted how ‘demons’ tried to stop him from marrying his wife, Erin.
Lufile, who is now a pastor, took to Facebook to share his experience with the ‘demons’ he claimed tried to dissuade him from getting married to his wife.
According to him, he had two demonic visitations while he was praying for Erin, who was his girlfriend at the time, in 2021 but noted that he continued interceding for her.
Lufile, who met his wife on Instagram in 2019 and got married to her last year, claimed he was being attacked because the devil hates ‘destiny relationships’.
He wrote on August 7 2021,
“One day I was praying for my girlfriend and a demonic spirit visited me in my bedroom at 4am and warned me to stop. It began to say many things then disappeared. This happened TWICE!
This was probably one of the most intense encounters I’ve ever had. The devil is after destiny partners and relationships.”
In a follow-up post shared exactly a year after on Sunday, August 7 2022, Lufile stated that the devil lost the battle against him and his now-wife.
“Exactly a year ago I was experiencing tremendous spiritual warfare in the dating stage with Erin. I had crazy visitations and demons that would try to stop me from pursuing her and praying for her. We went from dating to married real fast! The devil lost! We overcame.” he wrote.

A Nigerian man based abroad has taken to social media to complain bitterly after he was charged N56k for ingredients to cook bitter leaf soup (ofe onugbu).
In a video shared online, the man who spoke in Igbo, said he went to an African store to purchase food items to cook the mouthwatering soup but the cost amounted to about 70 pounds, which when converted to naira is N56,000.
While walking home from the store, the man said it’s unimaginable for him to spend that amount on a pot of soup, and would rather opt for burger instead because it’s cheaper.
According to him, bitter leaf soup is not even that delicious and burger tastes better than it so he would settle for burger.

For the umpteenth time, popular Nigerian singer, Kizz Daniel has gotten on the bad side of fans after he allegedly failed to show up for his concert in Tanzania on Sunday, August 7.
One of the show promoters, Samwel Masaki, had earlier taken to Twitter to announce that the singer has arrived the country to perform at the old next door Arena.

A Nigerian man has taken to social media to narrate how his marriage almost fell apart shortly after getting married to his wife.
The young man simply identified as Chisom in a Twitter thread, admitted that he married his best friend, but soon after their nuptials, things started to go south between them. His wife, who used to be his closest friend, seized being his friend.
According to him, his change in attitude almost ruined their union until they sought the help from a marriage counselor who assisted them in restoring peace in their home.

The mother of three recounted the traumatic childhood experience in a chat with media personality Chude Jideonwo.
According to her, the uncle tried to bully her into silence, but she summoned the courage to tell her aunt, who took her to the hospital to abort the pregnancy that resulted from the rape.

“I got raped by my uncle when I was 15 years and I had to go to my grandmother’s place in Ibadan. I didn’t tell my mother, but had to tell one of my aunties. Police kill armed robbery suspects terrorizing residents of Ajegunle and its environ
Notorious armed robbers engaged operatives of the Area B Apapa of the Lagos State Police Command in a gun duel in a bid to escape arrest. The daredevil robbers however fell to the superior firepower of the police operatives.
The robbers, Sodiq ’m’ aka Foreigner, was recently released from prison and Habeeb ‘m’ aka Kiki, have both been wanted for terrorizing Ajegunle and its environs were trailed to their hideout in Ajegunle, where they met their Waterloo.
One Beretta pistol, one locally made revolver pistol with four rounds of 9mm live ammunition and one expended shell of ammunition were recovered from the robbers.
The Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident, urged youths, in particular, to desist from crimes, as the long arm of the law will always catch up with criminals no matter how long it takes.

Beauty Tukura was disqualified from the show moments before the live eviction show on Sunday, August 7. The 43rd Miss Nigeria spent only 15 days in the house.
Her disqualification was announced by Biggie following her destruction of properties in the house, which goes against the rules of the show.
Following a heated disagreement with Groovy on Saturday night over dancing with a fellow housemate, Chomzy, where she altered body-shaming words for her love interest, Biggie announced her disqualification.
Meanwhile, some days back, she was captured assaulting Ilebaye for defending Chioma, an action which saw her receive her first strike from Biggie.
Well, King, who defended his sister in a video he shared on his Instagram page, maintained that she was simply acting out a script. According to him, the reality show is show business and his sister gave the best content.
In his words,
“Y’all should calm down…Beauty gave the best content, its show business men. The script was perfect. Even Big Brother will miss her. She might have pushed it a little but again it was meant to be adult content. Love you my baby. Una too para its not so deep”.

Two half-sisters enmeshed themselves in a messy drama on Twitter which made their family feud go viral on the platform.
The quite controversial situation started when the elder sister, known on Twitter as @Sugaarrbaby, sent out a tweet about having two birth certificates because her father seized her original birth certificate as a way of punishing her mum and so her mother got another one.
The lady referred to her father as “my other parent” in her tweet. Moments later, her younger ‘half-sister’, a baker, replied the tweet and accused her elder half-sister of “dragging” their dad.
She revealed their father wants nothing to do with Sugaarrbaby and her mum and also said some foul things their father allegedly said about the both of them.
The younger sister added: “This is why they said marry one wife so your days will be long.”
“I regret ever knowing you as a sister. God forbid,” the younger sister shared in a tweet as well.
Some Twitter users, upon seeing the drama, lambasted the younger sister, telling her that her elder half-sister mentioned neither her nor their father.
They also reminded the younger sister that her mother is the second wife so she’s not in the position to make the remark about men marrying only one wife.

“I wanted to raise N5m ransom to free my mother from bandits” – Kaduna woman nabbed with drugs by NDLEA says
A 35-year-old lady, Jatau Lydia Lami, who was arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, for drug trafficking claims she wanted to raise N5m ransom to pay bandits as she blamed her action on them.
The mother of three was arrested at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, for attempting to export 1,700 tablets of Tramadol 225mg concealed in her luggage to Istanbul, Turkey via a Turkish Airline flight on Sunday, July 31, 2022.
The suspect hails from Zango Kataf LGA of Kaduna State and lives in Istanbul, Turkey with her family.
NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, in a statement on Sunday, August 7, stated that the suspect blamed her action on pressure to raise N5million ransom to free her mother from the captivity of bandits who kidnapped her since June.

Her misbehaviour during the Saturday night party caused her disqualification.
The beauty queen got into a brawl with her love interest, Groovy, on Saturday night, for dancing with fellow housemate Chomzy during their party.
Moments before the live eviction show on Sunday, Biggie gathered the housemates in the lounge and played the clip of what had transpired the night before for the rest of the housemates.

Little boy rescued after he was accused of being a witch, killing his mother and inflicting grandmother with sickness in Akwa Ibom
Popular Danish humanitarian worker, Anja Ringgren Lovén and her team have rescued a young boy who was accused of being a witch, kiling his mother, inflicting his grandmother with sickness.
According to Lovén, the boy identified as Joseph was being tortured to reveal what he wasn’t and it was a very emotional case when they got wind of the distress condition.
She wrote;
“It’s been a very emotional and busy month at Land of Hope. We have rescued 3 children and I have only introduced you to Samuel and Mighty,”
The third child that was rescued is Joseph. He was accused of being a witch. He was accused of inflicting his grandmother with sickness while killing his late mother when he was 6 years old.
David Emmanuel Umem and Nsidibe Orok were alerted about the case and found Joseph in a distress condition.
He has been in severe emotional and physical torture for years in the family house. He was never allowed to go to school due to the stigma. The community claimed that he could initiate other children to the witchcraft coven
The case is under investigation. Joseph has been at Land of Hope for 6 weeks and has changed so much from being very depressed to feeling joy and happiness looking forward to start school after the summer break

In the early hours of Sunday, August 7th, 2022, reports went viral that popular socialite, Paschal Pascal Okechukwu, known better as Cubana Chiefpriest narrowly escaped death when unknown gunmen attacked his convoy.
The blogger who first reported the news claimed the attack happened in Imo State and “unknown gun men” were behind it.
