Ejiro Otarigbo, the heroic tanker driver who drove a burning tanker from a danger zone to avert a tragic fire incident in Agbarho, Delta State, has spoken about the incident.
On Friday, June 10, 2022, Ejiro Otarigho risked his life to drive a burning truck out of a residential area to save others.
To lessen the damage that the flaming truck might cause if it exploded, Otarigho drove it away from a heavily crowded residential neighbourhood in Agbarho Town, Ughelli North, Delta State, to a sparsely populated location.
In an interview with media personality, Lucky Udu, Ejiro said he didn’t stop and continued driving the truck to a secluded place because he knew it might take a while for the fire service to get to the scene and a lot of damage could have been caused if the tanker exploded.
He noted that he did not want to be labeled as the individual who caused the deaths of thousands of people, and that was why he took the ultimate risk.
Speaking further, he revealed he recently got married and his wife is heavily pregnant.
According to him, as a result of the tragic incident, his truck is burnt and he’s currently jobless.
A maid has lost her job only few days after she was employed after being caught on camera trying to suffocate her colleague.
The footage, obtained from CCTV cameras installed in the house, shows the maid, ambush her colleague in a secluded part of the house and attempted to strangle to her colleague.
Although its unclear what transpired between the two viral reports that the maid who was employed by a family in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory came to the house with a mission.
An Instagram blog who shared the CCTV footage online revealed that the lady has been relieved of her duty and urged the public to be careful.

Edo state-born Nollywood actress, Yvonne Jegede, has been lauded online after she shared an adorable video of her son, Xavier, learning her dialect.
The mother of one took to her Instagram page on Wednesday, June 15 to share a video of herself and her son conversing in her dialect.

Nigerian filmmaker, Imoh Umoren, has reacted to the controversy that has trailed presidential aspirant Peter Obi’s visit to Egypt to study the country’s education, power, planning, and financial achievements.
Obi, the Labour Party (LP) Presidential flag bearer in the 2023 election, had on Tuesday, via his official Twitter handle, announced the three-day trip to the North African nation.
“I just departed for Egypt on a 3-day visit as part of my detailed study of comparable countries to Nigeria. In Egypt, I am expected to understudy, among others, the Egyptian Power Sector, Education, Planning and Finance Sectors”. He tweeted.

Popular Nollywood actor, Imeh Bishop Umoh otherwise known as Okon Lagos, has said he will sell his vote to any politician willing to pay the ‘right price’.
He made this declaration in a video shared on his Instagram page while speaking on the 2023 general elections and the vote-buying antics of some politicians.
According to Okon, such politicians pay citizens to vote for them once in four years and it’s only fair for him to collect enough money to sustain him until the next election season.
The 40-year-old comic actor said he would willingly sell his vote at $1000/day, and went on to calculate the total amount he would collect for four years.
He said there are 365 days in one year and when multiplied by four years, it gives 1,460 days. He then multiplied 1,460 days by his said price/day and it amounts to $1,460,000.
The actor said he would offer the politician an exchange rate of N500 to a dollar and when the total amount is converted to naira, his selling price becomes N730 million.
According to him, that should be enough to fend for himself and his family till the next election season when politicians will start canvassing for votes again.
Veteran Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike has taken to social media to reveal that he was once a victim of abuse in his marriage.

In other news, a soldier was filmed assaulting and stripping naked a young lady, who was dressed in a manner he considered indecent.
The said incident occurred at Oju-Ore, Sango Ota area of Ogun State.
The lady, who was cladded in a pair of shorts and white knitted coverup, was trekking along the road when she was assaulted.
According to reports, the soldier was inside a commercial bus when he spotted the lady. He then alighted and attacked her because of her dressing.

The Anambra state police command has busted a hotel in the state where girls between the ages of 14 and 17 are allegedly being used for sex slavery, prostitution, and baby factories.
The spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, in a statement, revealed that operatives raided the hotel named Gally Gally in Nkpor on intelligence and tips from residents around the area.
According to Tochukwu, about 35 teenage girls were rescued from the camp, and about four of them are pregnant.
He said the police also arrested 3 people, namely, Mrs Ifeoma Uzo, age “F,” 35 yrs, Chidiebere Alaka, age “M,” 28 years old, and Nweke Chidiebere.
“We recovered three pump action gun, seven cartridges and cash sum of Eight hundred and seventy seven thousand, five hundred naira (#877,500). The Suspects arrested are being interrogated with a view to eliciting information on their involvement and unmasking other gang members.” the statement read in part.
Tochukwu added that the police will hand over the victims to NAPTIP for the welfare and rehabilitation of the children.
In other news, the acting Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), Anamekwe Nwabuoku, has said the country is facing a huge financial crisis and revealed that Nigeria borrows money to pay salaries.
The acting AGF made this disclosure in Abuja on Tuesday at a retreat organized by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation for members of the Technical Sub-committee on Cash Management (TSCM).
Nwabuoku explained that there is an increase in government expenditure due to rising security challenges and the social needs of the citizenry.
“We have to borrow to augment payment of salaries and wages. This shows we are in very difficult times. Government income is highly challenged,” He said.
A Nigerian man, Chukwuebuka Nwobodo, has been declared wanted by the US Police in connection with the disappearance and alleged murder of a 24-year-old lady, Felicia Johnson.
Felicia went missing on April 16, 2022, after leaving a hotel in Houston, Texas.
The prime suspect, Nwodobo, was said to have bought some suspicious items and searched for different ways to get rid of a corpse.
He was first arrested on May 13 after the police allegedly found blood in the trunk and backseat of his vehicle, as well as a handgun, loose latex gloves, a shovel and a large kitchen knife with blood on it. However, he was released shortly after.
Following subsequent investigation, it was discovered that Nwobodo allegedly murdered the young lady and disposed her body.
When his home was searched, they found large amounts of blood stains in his apartment, specifically his bedroom and hallway floors.
A warranted search on his Google accounts also showed that on April 20 Nwobodo googled, “How to get away with murder”, ” Can bleach destroy DNA?”, “What does vinegar do to blood?”, “how does one plan a murder without getting caught”, “most forested part of Houston”, and cheapest places to live in the world on a $1,000-per-month budget.
Detectives with the Houston Police Department, who confirmed the tragic incident said,
“Evidence indicates Nwobodo killed Johnson inside his apartment before disposing her personal effects in Bear Creek Pioneers Park. It is believed he disposed of Johnson’s body at some point within the next few days.”
Veteran comic-actor, Olaniyi Afonja, popularly known as Sanyeri, has disclosed that he regrets dropping out of school to pursue his acting career.
The talented thespian, who has spent over three decades in the Nigerian movie industry, made this disclosure in a recent interview with media personality Olamide Famuwagun.
Sanyeri noted that he might have missed the opportunity to put his talent into use if he had not dropped out of school, but even at that, he regrets dropping out of school.
Speaking further, he revealed that he is currently enrolled in classes at a private university in Nigeria to further his education. He also mentioned that he has a personal teacher who is teaching him how to communicate fluently in English.

Drama broke out in the Badagry area of Lagos state in the early hours of Wednesday when an ‘Oyibo’ woman, was seen looking distraught and confused in public as she demanded to know where she was.

Popular Kannywood Actress, Hadiza Gabon has denied knowing the 48-year-old man who sued her for refusing to marry him after spending N396,000 on her.
The civil servant, Bala Musa, told a Sharia court in Kaduna state that he had been dating the actress for a while and she promised to marry him.
According to him, he doesn’t hesitate to send her money whenever she requests for it and has spent N396k on her so far.
Bala also said he invited her to his home in Gusau, Zamfara, but she failed to show up after all the arrangements he made to host her.
However, in court on Tuesday, June 14, the actress said she has never met the man in her life and had no relationship with him.
Her lawyer, Barrister Mubarak Sani Jibril, who spoke on her behalf said the actress has denied all the allegations levelled against her. “After hearing his allegations, she actually gave her own response which of course according to her, she has never met him, she never knew what happened. He met her on Facebook purportedly owned by her, so, we don’t know anything about that; we have no business with that, we have heard of him, we will allow the court to decide.” Mubarak said.
It was further discovered that Bala met the actress on Facebook and had been chatting with her via the social media platform.
“They met on Facebook, from there they became friends and the lady promised to marry him and he started spending money on her. She denied knowing him, but we have informed the court that we are going to bring witnesses on that,” Bala’s legal representative said.
Thereafter, the actress was granted bail with the condition to provide two reliable sureties residing in the state, and the case was adjourned to June 28th.
The acting Accountant General of the Federation (AGF), Anamekwe Nwabuoku, has said the country is facing a huge financial crisis and revealed that Nigeria borrows money to pay salaries.
The acting AGF made this disclosure in Abuja on Tuesday at a retreat organized by the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation for members of the Technical Sub-committee on Cash Management (TSCM).
Nwabuoku explained that there is an increase in government expenditure due to rising security challenges and the social needs of the citizenry.
“We have to borrow to augment payment of salaries and wages. This shows we are in very difficult times. Government income is highly challenged,” He said.
“The theme and objective of the retreat couldn’t have been better captioned, given the fiscal challenges at the moment. Records available indicate that due to dwindling revenues, the treasury had to resort to other sources to augment the payment of federal government public servants. There is an increase in government expenditure due to increasing security challenges and social needs of the citizenry.” He added.
Nwabuoku said there should be deliberate efforts to revert the trend through fiscal discipline, economic diversification, export sector promotion and plunging revenue leakages, among others, to ensure revenue inflow.

Drama broke out in the Badagry area of Lagos state in the early hours of Wednesday when an American woman, who was allegedly hypnotized by a suspected Yahoo boy, came to her senses and demanded to know where she was.
The woman is said to have been lured to Nigeria from her country by a suspected yahoo boy using diabolical powers.
According to the locals, the lady said she arrived in Nigeria three days ago from California and has been staying in the residence of the youngster who is yet to be identified.
When she regained consciousness this morning, she demanded to know how and why she had ended up in his place. Neighbors got involved, separated them, and took them to the community leader, for further interrogation.

Thongkham was arrested by the Economic Crime Suppression Division police in front of Na Suksabai Thai traditional massage shop in Bangkok’s Bang Khen district on Tuesday, June 14, according to the commander of the division, Pol Maj Gen Phutthidej Boonkraphue.

Singer, Burna Boy has seemingly reacted to the accusation that the police escorts attached to him shot two fun-seekers at a club in Lagos.
It was earlier reported that the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, ordered the Lagos state Commissioner of Police, CSP Abiodun Alabi, to carry out an urgent and thorough investigation into the alleged shooting incident involving the police personnel attached to the Nigerian singer, Burna Boy.
The singer is alleged to have made passes at a woman who was with her husband at Club Cubana on Victoria Island on Wednesday, June 8.
It’s said that when the husband got angry at Burna Boy for making passes at his wife, tempers flared and one of his escorts, Inspector Ibrahim, fired his service pistol.
Punch reports that in the process, 27-year-old Lawrence was shot in the thigh while his friend, Tolu, was hit in the head by a bullet.
“Aware of what he had done, Burna Boy took the next flight out without even informing the policemen. He only made a video call to them to inform them that he had traveled to Spain. All his police escorts have been arrested and are currently at the Command headquarters,” said a top source at the office of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police.
