A young Nigerian medical doctor who recently returned to Nigeria from Asia for an exchange program was reportedly shot dead in Enugu over the weekend.
The young man, identified as Evarastus, was shot dead by unknown gunmen and his car taken away in an area known as Four Corners in Enugu state.
It was gathered that the deceased was driving in his Lexus 350 when he was attacked by the gunmen, who shot him twice in his chest and fled the scene in his car.
Friends have flocked to Twitter to express their grief and demand that justice be served.
In related news, a Nigerian couple were slain on their way to their wedding in Imo state, turning what was supposed to be a joyous day into a tragic one.
According to viral reports, the couple, both military personnel, were attacked by unknown gunmen on the way to the venue for their wedding.
It was gathered that the groom , a warrant officer was compulsorily retired ahead of his wedding to the female junior officer.
A military source disclosed that the couple were beheaded and their private parts mutilated.
However, a man confessed to killing the soldiers and two others in a viral phone conversation. He claimed the soldiers had been killing innocent people and he had “eaten these ones” in revenge.
Gospel singer Steve Crown survives freak accident (video)
Nigerian gospel singer, Steve Crown, has taken to social media to express gratitude to God for life after he survived a freak accident.
The ‘You are Yahweh’ crooner, who was hospitalized following the accident, took to his Instagram page on Monday, May 9, shared a video showing him at the hospital taking a MRI scan.
The clip also showed his car and another vehicle involved in the accident badly damaged.
Sharing the video, he thanked God for his unending love. “YOUR LOVE NEVER ENDS … JESUS 🙌😭”, he captioned the post.

Taking to the microblogging platform which he recently bought for $44 Billion in the early hours of Monday, May 9, the billionaire tech guru wrote about dying under mysterious circumstances.
“If I die under mysterious circumstances, it’s been nice knowin ya,” Musk tweeted.
He shared this tweet after he alleged that the former Russian Deputy PM, Dmitry Rogozin, sent a false information about him to the Russian media.
According to the post shared by the Tesla boss, it was alleged that he supplied some military communication equipment to Ukraine through his company, Starlink, amid the ongoing war with Russia.
He was also accused of supporting fascism in Ukraine by reason of his alleged business with them.
“According to our information, the delivery of Starlink equipment was carried out by the pentagon. Elon Musk, thus, is involved in supplying fascist forces in Ukraine with military communication equipment,” the post said.
Nigeria Customs Service reacts to viral video of officer slapping governor’s aide
The Nigeria Customs Service has reacted to a viral video of one of its officers assaulting an aide to the Delta state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa.
In the clip that sparked outrage online, Samson Nwachukwu, a Special Assistant to Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, was slapped and attacked by an officer of the Nigeria Customs Service in presence of his colleague and a military officer.
The officer can be heard angrily asking who Mr. Samson Nwachukwu is after he had told him he is a Special Assistant to Delta State Governor before slapping him. The video ended with the military officer telling the customs officer to “get this man down.” ICYMI.
The agency’s spokesperson, DC Timi Bomodi, in a statement disclosed that the officer in the viral video and other members of that team from FOU Zone ‘C’ have since been withdrawn from patrol duties and are currently under administrative investigation at the NCS Zonal Headquarters Zone ‘C’ Port Harcourt.
“Officers of the Nigeria Customs Service have been trained to carry out their duties with dignity and respect, and are expected to display decorum in all their conduct at all times. Where they fail to carry out their brief as assigned, appropriate sanctions are applied to enforce discipline. The NCS would like to reassure the general public of its commitment to the welfare and safety of all citizens and frowns seriously at any act by its personnel capable of misrepresenting its corporate image.
We ask that all law-abiding persons go about their activities without fear of intimidation or harassment as we work assiduously to bring closure to this unwholesome incident.” The statement read.

Nigerian man marries second wife with the approval of his first wife
A Nigerian man has taken to social media to commend his friend who married a second wife with the approval of his first wife.
Human rights activist, Kola Edokpayi, who shared photos from the wedding, which was held on Sunday May 8, on Facebook, said the man made made sure he had his first wife’s agreement before proceeding with the ceremony.
Speaking further, Edokpayi called on churches to approve polygamy.
“Today, the 8th day of May, 2022, we attended the marriage of my Follower who got married to his second wife with the approval of his first wife. We are gradually winning the fight to legalize Polygamy in our system. We need to go back to our root.

BREAKING: ASUU extends strike by three months
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has extended its ongoing strike by 12 weeks.
The decision came following a meeting of the union’s national executive council (NEC) on Sunday at its University of Abuja secretariat.
In a statement issued after the meeting, Emmanuel Osodeke, ASUU president, stated that the extension takes effect from Monday, May 9, 2022. He said the extension is aimed at giving the government more time to satisfactorily resolve the issues.
“NEC was shocked that public universities have remained closed for about three months while members of the political class were busy purchasing expression of interest and nomination forms worth several millions of Naira in preparations for 2023 elections! Those in power turned their back on our degraded universities as they shuttle between Europe and America to celebrate the graduation of their children and wards from world class universities.
This speaks volumes on the level of depravity, insensitivity, and irresponsibility of Nigeria’s opportunistic and p@rasitic political class. NEC condemned Federal Government’s cavalier attitude towards the strike action in the last twelve weeks. Government’s resort to the use of starvation as a we@pon for breaking the collective resolve of ASUU members and undermine our patriotic struggle to reposition public universities in Nigeria is ill-advised and may prove counterproductive.
“After extensive deliberations, noting Government’s failure to live up to its responsibilities and speedily address all the issues raised in the 2020 FGN/ASUU Memorandum of Action (MoA) within the additional eight-week roll–over strike period declared on 14th March 2022, NEC resolved that the strike be rolled over for twelve weeks to give Government more time to satisfactorily resolve all the outstanding issues. The roll-over strike action is with effect from 12.01a.m. on Monday, 9th May, 2022,” the statement read.
Man plays cheating prank on girlfriend only to discover she cheated
A man was left heartbroken after he played a cheating prank on his girlfriend.
The young man revealed that he decided to play a cheating prank on his woman just for fun, but the result left him shattered.
According to him, he texted his girlfriend, telling her he knew she had cheated on him and she admitted to cheating. Unknown to her, it was just a prank.
Heartbroken, he shared screenshots of the conversation on Twitter and recounted how he did his best in the relationship.

In other news, a 44-year-old woman has been charged with murdering her partner of 10 years after allegedly cutting off his genitals and stabbing him and his friend to death.
Jasmine Everleigh was charged with two counts of murder, after her partner Samir Esbeck, 59, and his friend Sarkis Abboud, 61, were stabbed in the early hours of Thursday, May 5.
According to Australia’s 7NEWS, the couple were together for 10 years and Everleigh attacked her partner before cutting off his genitals.
Her partner, Esbeck, died at the scene in an apartment in Brunswick, Melbourne, Australia while his friend Abboud died tragically on the way to hospital, reports the Mirror.
The woman was later arrested on a nearby tram in Calton and was found to have suffered cuts to her arms.
Acting Assistant Commissioner Mick Frewen told reporters: “She was bleeding and had a fair bit of blood on her.”
She was taken to hospital before being interviewed and charged with two counts of murder by police on Friday, May 6.
Mr Abboud’s daughter, Christine Abboud wrote on social media: “No one deserves this kind of pain left with them. My father was my hero, a loving husband and brother to his family. My heart feels empty knowing I won’t ever see him again … Dad, I love you.”

Funsho Adeoti, the first wife of Mercy Aigbe’s husband, Kazim Adeoti, has called the actress and their husband out on social media.
The mother of four, via her Insta-stories on Sunday night, issued a stern warning to Mercy Aigbe and her husband.
She didn’t go into detail about the warning, but she emphasized that her husband and his new wife, Mercy, should stop pushing her. She also gave a 12 hour ultimatum to them to take down a post.
This comes after Mercy Aigbe took to her Instagram page to share loved-up photos with her husband, and also a video of herself that was taken in Kazim’s home.
In light of this, Netizens speculates that the post Funsho is asking Mercy Aigbe to take down is the video of herself in the house she (Funsho) and Kazim reportedly built together.

She agreed with socialite Cubana Chiefpriest on Instagram that polygamy is dangerous and can kill an entire generation.
Chiefpriest in an Instagram post opined that polygamy is a huge problem that ends up destroying an entire generation with hate, competition, and jealousy.

Lady celebrates after going to study Law just to get her dad out of prison in time for her graduation
A Lady who decided to study Law with a mission in mind to get her convicted Father out of prison has taken to her social media page to celebrate after she finally made her dream come through.
According to the young lady, her father has been in jail since she was 4 and she did what she could to get him out just in time to make her graduation.
Sharing the photo, she wrote;

Custom officer assaults Delta State Governor’s aide, Samson Nwachukwu (VIDEO)
Samson Nwachukwu, a Special Assistant to Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, was recently slapped and attacked by an officer of the Nigeria Customs Service.
The video that captured the moment the officer slapping Mr. Nwachukwu surfaced online and it’s got many people talking.
In the video, the officer can be heard angrily asking who Mr. Samson Nwachukwu is after he had told him he is a Special Assistant to Delta State Governor before slapping him. The video ended with the military officer telling the customs officer to “get this man down.”

Its no surprise that he did not retaliate the slap on his face as a well groomed Nigerian under the siege of our foundation, Behind Bars Human Rights.
I suppose this has happened to so many other citizens whom are more or less helpless in such situations.
We will not handle this abuse on our own with kid’s gloves as we request that the officers are fished out and arrested as we go through due process to ensure justice is served accordingly and offenders brought to book.

After 16 years of waiting, Nigerian man passes away three months after his wife gave birth to twins
A Nigerian man, identified as Chinedu Njirinzu, has passed away three months after his wife gave birth to a set of twins after 16 years of marriage.
The deceased’s brother-in-law, Igwe Ihedioha, took to his social media page on Friday May 6, to mourn him.
Sharing the photo of the deceased, Ihedioha wrote;
Words have failed me,i am heart broken by the sudden death of my brother in-law, Prince Chinedu Njirinzu(Skippo).
He loved my sister so much and supported her for the 16 years of waiting on the Lord for child. Just 3 months after God answered their prayers with Twins(boy and girl),now he is no more.

Mum accused of cutting off boyfriend’s genitals after stabbing him and friend to death
A 44-year-old woman has been charged with murdering her partner of 10 years after allegedly cutting off his genitals and stabbing him and his friend to death.
Jasmine Everleigh was charged with two counts of murder, after her partner Samir Esbeck, 59, and his friend Sarkis Abboud, 61, were stabbed in the early hours of Thursday, May 5.
According to Australia’s 7NEWS, the couple were together for 10 years and Everleigh attacked her partner before cutting off his genitals.
Her partner, Esbeck, died at the scene in an apartment in Brunswick, Melbourne, Australia while his friend Abboud died tragically on the way to hospital, reports the Mirror.
The woman was later arrested on a nearby tram in Calton and was found to have suffered cuts to her arms.
Acting Assistant Commissioner Mick Frewen told reporters: “She was bleeding and had a fair bit of blood on her.”
She was taken to hospital before being interviewed and charged with two counts of murder by police on Friday, May 6.
Mr Abboud’s daughter, Christine Abboud wrote on social media: “No one deserves this kind of pain left with them.
“My father was my hero, a loving husband and brother to his family.
“My heart feels empty knowing I won’t ever see him again … Dad, I love you.”
Police officer narrates how a church boy turned out to be an armed robber who hides guns inside church.
Popular police officer, Aliyu Giwa, has taken to Facebook to share an intriguing story of how a mother was left in shock after her son who was a member of the choir, confessed that he was part of a robbery gang and even hid the ammunitions in the church.
Aliyu disclosed that the sister of the suspect had gone on social media to call out the police of unlawfully arresting her brother and accusing him of armed robbery. His mother also accused the police of wrongful arrest, insisting that her son can never be an armed robber.
However, when thorough investigations were conducted, everyone was left in shock after the suspect confessed to committing the crime.

So few years ago, on one of my instagram posts. Someone commented “your stupid & useless colleagues are at it again; oh, please check your DM.”
Here is my STORY!
After checking my DM I reached out to the person and asked “what happened ma’am?” And she explained that her brother was arrested for no reasons! I was astounded at her response ‘For no “reasons”?! Police wouldn’t just come to your house to arrest you for no reason.
She then replied; “Ermmm when we went to the Police station yesterday, they notified us that it was an armed robbery case. And I swear with the God that created me, my brother knows nothing about the so called armed robbery case. My brother is always in the church. He’s in the church choir and the church drummer boy. He’s also in-charge of the store where they keep the church’s musical instruments.
To cut the long story short, I implored her to meet me the next day at the department where her brother was arrested which she graciously conceded to.
Before the next day, the story had gone viral on SM. I received series of insults and DMs. One funny part about the story was that when she posted the story, she didn’t put the part that it was an “Armed Robbery Case.” The story had a different coloration compared to what she told me. But as a Policeman who is presumed to be everybody’s friend, I just kept mute anxiously waiting for the next day to come. At some point, the next day became too far for me because the tags, Insults & DMs were becoming unbearable.
Fast forward the next day.
At about 8:35Hrs my phone rang, So I picked “Hello, please who’s this?” The caller responded “I’m Mama A, mother of the boy that was unlawfully arrested. We’re here already. So i replied “Oh ma’am, good morning ma’am, I will meet you up there” Mama A: Okay my son (with a teary voice).
In my mind I was like – God have mercy o.
Got there & met them with the IPO (investigating Police Officer).
IPO:Oga! Good morning Sir
Me: Morning! Wetin happen? What’s the case about?
IPO: Oga na armed robbery case and 3 people were shot dead.
Me: Okay! Then what’s s this guy’s connection with the case on ground!
IPO: He’s part of them Sir!
Mama A: screamed “Blood of Jesus” my son is not brought up that way! God forbid oh! My son can’t be, wouldn’t be and will never be an armed robber.” He’s a shining star! The devil will never get me and my family! (She was crying profusely.
I said to her “Please Mummy just calm down, we will get to the root of the case”
Mind you, the Pastor to the church he works for was there too. So I told the Pastor “Daddy, please help us talk to Mummy she should just calm down”
Pastor: my son I must say, I am not happy with ur men!
The Sister that made the thread and post about the arrest of the Boy was getting rude too! Omo! Menh! Instant headache just hook me.
So I said to the everybody (IPO, Mama A, Pastor, etc) “Oya let’s go meet the Officer In Charge (OC) of the department.”
At the OC’s Office, the following conversations ensued;
Me: Good morning Sir! “Banged my leg and saluted”
OC: Giwa! How’re u?
Me: fine sir.
OC smiled and said “u came for this matter?”
Me: Yes Sir.
OC: IPO, please bring the boy in.
The boy came in! Immediately I saw the guy, then I got scared. “He was looking really cool and calm. He really looked responsible and cool headed.In my mind I said to myself this guy must be innocent. Hmmmm! “God have mercy oh”
What i am going to do o? And my phone never stopped beeping since the previous night.
Me:Oga!
Immediately the OC said “Giwa, I saw what the sister wrote on the Internet! I wanted to read the story on SM out so that the Everybody could hear what she wrote.
One DM just appeared from no where saying; “You this bastard you & your fellow police officers will die young, your families will die too” Omo menh! I just weak!
So I read what she posted.
And the Pastor called her name and said “I told you not to say anything until after we are out it.
To cut it short!
The IPO said “Oga, please I wan talk!” Oc: go on!
IPO: he has confessed!!
Oc: that what?
IPO: that he just helps them keep the arms!
Mama A: screamed “Jesus oh” the devil is a lair! Blah blah in her dialect”
Pastor: silently said “Jesus Christ” with his eyes closed.

In all these, his sister was already making another thread on twitter insulting me, the OC and the IPO!
I decided to check my phone during that awkward moment, na so I see my mentions! I was like wetin I do now? His sister stood and left the OC’s Office before I noticed what she had posted.
To cut it short!
OC: IPO take the boy and go get the arms and ammunitions.
IPO: Okay Sir.
When they got to the church (music instrument store) they found a bag with 1 Ak47, 2 locally made guns and ammunitions.
Afterwards the boy confessed that he followed them for operations “only 2 times”. And the second time was the day they shot 3 people dead.
How long have u been helping them to hide the arms and ammunitions? He said “about 2years now”
The mummy didn’t know he had a car! He & his friend told the friend’s dad that he’s into Yahoo Yahoo! That’s where he got the money from.
Subsequently, the sister and his friend either deleted their social media handles or changed their names! My people please have it in mind that not all threads on SM are what they portend to be. Before taking sides you need to hear from both parties. Let’s use the social media to positively influence ourselves and tell good stories of our society. Not using it to give false information and condemning what our society has built. Not using it to bully people and stereotyping them!

A video of a female presidential aspirant, Ruby Chinenye of the Young Progressives Party YPP, making her declaration as she aspires to become President of Nigeria in 2023 has gone viral on social media.
In the video, the presidential hopeful stated that Nigeria doesn’t need a rich man to rule the country and that what the country needs is a ”Man with sense,” which is why she has offered to be president.
Chinenye said;
I want us to understand that you do not need a rich man to rule Nigeria.
You do not need a rich man to lead Nigeria.
What we need in Nigeria is a man with sense, and I am here offering myself.
