A former secondary school teacher, Sammy Anslem Chuks, has tied the knot with one of his former students, Stephanie, in Agbor, Delta state.
Ika Weekly Newspaper reports that the groom, Sammy, disclosed that he met his wife, Stephanie Ebere Odili, at the Orient Academy Group of Schools, Boji-Boji Owa, where he did his Teaching Practice (TP) in 2013.
Sammy revealed that at the time, he taught economics at the school while Stephanie was the head girl.
“It was dream come true that I married Stephanie whom I have so admired and cherished as one of my students. What started like a child’s play has come to reality. Indeed, I feel fulfilled that finally I got married to her, my dream wife as secondary school student. Sincerely, I want appreciate the Nigerian education system which has brought us together as husband and wife.
“My wife remains the best achievement I got during my teaching practice time, despite the fact that TP teachers are not paid for their service. I left Orient Academy Group of School finding my missing rib. Continuing, the latest groom in town enjoined youths who see education as scam to desist, adding that education gave him the best gift in life, which is his wife.
In all, my wife is a huge blessing to me. And I thank God for giving the grace to wait for her to finish her secondary and higher education. Conclusively, the love which we share has kept us together that despite the long waiting, we have not given up on each other”, Sammy said.

A lady who works as a waitress has alleged that the singer walked into the bar and after consuming a number of drinks worth about N306K, he left without paying a dime.
The young lady, however, has cried out to the public to appeal to Small Doctor to pay what he owes as the club management is on her tail to clear the bills.

According to Reno, Russia-Ukraine conflict should not be called World war 3 yet. He then suggested that a real World War 3 would happen if all the first-born sons underwent a DNA test.

If you really want to see the real World War 3, let every first born child of all Nigerian marriages be DNA tested.

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has taken to social media to berate Nigerians praying fervently for Ukraine amid its crisis with Russia.
Citing the war in Ethiopia, Reno pointed out that it’s not getting as much attention from Africans, as the war in far away Ukraine.
When a follower stated that Nigerians live and work in Ukraine so there’s nothing wrong in praying for them, the social media commentator asserted that there are more Nigerians in Ethiopia, than in Ukraine, yet there is no social media campaign or call for prayers for them.
He concluded by saying Nigerians have more love for white people than Africans.

Taking to Snapchat, the thespian recounting her personal experience, revealed that her friend downplayed her mental health issues and accused her of using it as an excuse.
According to her, this explains why people never open up because people don’t care about your struggles till you die.

Newly-wed Ukrainian couple spend their first day of marriage collecting rifles to defend their country (photos)
A newly wed couple, Yaryna Arieva and Sviatoslav Fursin, have gotten attention on social media after spending their first day of marriage collecting rifles to defend their country, Ukraine.
The couple tied the knot few hours before Russian military invaded their country on Thursday morning, February 24.
Instead of going for their honeymoon, they went straight to the armory to collect rifles issued by the Ukrainian ministry of defence to men and women willing to fight for Ukraine.
The newly-weds said they were planning to get married in May 2022 but decided to move up the date because they were not sure what the future holds for them.
They have now signed up with the Territorial Defense Forces, a branch of Ukraine’s military made up of mostly volunteers.
Speaking with local media, Arieva said, “Right now, we are here and we are doing everything we can. So there is a lot of work to do, but still, I hope everything will be OK,”

Nollywood actor and politician, Yul Edochie, has taken to his social media page to share a video of himself lying inside a coffin.
This comes days after the Federal Government, through a statement released by the minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, banned Nigerian filmmakers from featuring money ritual content in their movies. According to them, the Nigerian movie industry is behind the increase in ritual killing cases in the country.
In an apparent reaction to the directive, actor Yul Edochie shared a video of himself in a coffin and stated that he was shooting a romance movie, not a money ritual movie.
According to the actor who seemed to be making a mockery of the Federal Government’s directive, he wants to propose to his lover from the coffin, which is usually used as a prop for money ritual movies.
However, it’s unclear if the actor was truly on a movie set, or simply goofing around.

N35m recovered from armed robbers who raided four banks in Uromi, Edo state
The sum of thirty-five million naira has reportedly been recovered from the armed robbers that raided some banks in Uromi, Edo state.
Recall that it was a black Thursday for residents of Uromi, Esan North-East Local government Area of Edo State, on Thursday, February 24, after the robbers stormed four banks and carted away millions of naira in sack bags.
According to new reports, after the robbers fled the scene, some youths of Ubiaja community blocked the road by the rail line, forcing the robbers to abandon their vehicles and escape in motorcycles.
They left the stolen cash behind as well, and it has now been recovered and taken to Ubiaja police station where it was counted and said to be over N35 million.
The spokesperson of the Edo state police command, Bello Kolongs, confirming the new development, said the recovered money is currently in police custody.
He said in part,
“The police recovered two small bags containing women Items, one Union Bank ATM card and Thirty four million, five hundred and ten thousand Naira cash ( #34,510,000.00).
“Other recovered items were One Red Colour Camry car with Reg.No. EZA 105 KJA, One ash Colour Camry Car with Reg. No. KWL 19 DU, One Dark Ash colour corolla car with Reg. No. UBJ 734 SZ, One Lexus 330 car with Reg. No. AAA 973 FL, One Red Q. Link M/CYCLE With Reg. No. EZA 105 QN, One Red Day Long M/Cycle With Reg. No. ENU 204 QL, used for the operation.”

Man arrested for child theft in Abeokuta
Men of the Ogun state police command has arrested a 35-year-old man, Sunday Alani, for allegedly stealing a one-year-old child at Atolashe village in Odeda local government area of Ogun state.
The suspect was arrested following a distress call received by the policemen attached to Odeda divisional headquarters that while the little girl was playing around in her parent’s compound, the suspect took advantage of the inattentive of her mother who was busy frying (garri) cassava flakes and stylishly took the little girl after which he started running away with her.
A passerby, who noticed the suspicious movement of the suspect called the attention of the mother who then raised alarm.
Upon the distress call, the Dpo Odeda division, CSP Femi Olabode quickly mobilized his men in conjunction with so safe corpsmen and moved to the scene. The suspect was chased to the bush where he was arrested and the child rescued from him.
on interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime, he informed the police that he came to the area with two women who are his accomplices. He explained further that he had previously stolen two children from Egbeda in Lagos and Akute area of Ogun state.
The spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the arrest said the commissioner of police, CP Lanre Bankole, has ordered a massive manhunt for the two women accomplices of the suspect with the view to bring them to justice.

Nigerian lady raises alarm as Poland allegedly refuses to let in Africans fleeing from the war in Ukraine
A Nigerian lady has taken to Twitter to allege that Polish authorities are not letting in Africans fleeing from the war in Ukraine.
@Ore_k disclosed that some Nigerians living in Ukraine trekked for hours to the border of Poland, but they were not allowed into the country.
According to her, some of them have been forced to return back to Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, which is not safe at this time.
This comes in the wake of Russia’s attack on Ukraine.

A viral video of a man furiously confronting his wife for texting her ex-boyfriend has sparked reactions from social media users.
In the video, which found its way to the web, the young man accuses the lady of still conversing with her ex via text messages, despite being married to him for three years.
The enraged man could be heard saying, “Okay, If that is what you want. How can a married woman be texting her ex after three years of marriage.”
The lady stayed mute when the man asked the question, leading some to conclude that her gesture was an admission of guilt.

The kidnap kingpin was sentenced alongside two other co-kidnappers, Uchenna Amadi and Okuchuwkwu Nwachukwu, on a two-count charge of conspiracy and kidnapping of businessman, Donatus Duru.
The presiding judge, Justice Oshodi, held that the prosecution had proven beyond reasonable doubt that the trio were guilty of the crime.
The judge added that he observed the demeanor of Evans in the confessional videos and he didn’t show any form of remorse for his alleged actions. He further added that Evans mentioned the names of some of his colleagues and the roles they played in the kidnap.
“He was seen freely laughing and willingly answered questions. A close look at his body shows no sign of torture. He did not look unkempt. He is seen laughing even when he was told that he must be a rich k!dnapper.
He showed no remorse in the dock and tried to lie his way out of the crimes despite the video evidence,” Justice Oshodi said.
However, the court discharged and acquitted one Ogechi Uchechukwu and two former soldiers of the Nigerian Army, because evidence linking them to the said crime was not sufficient.
