Federal Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, has averred that the Buhari-led administration has done more than the United States government in infrastructural development.
The former governor of Lagos state stated this in his speech in Kano during the “APC conversation series” on Thursday, January 27.
According to him, there are 850 ongoing projects under his ministry, including roads and bridges construction as well as houses in 34 states of the country.
In his words,
“I can assure you that the present APC administration of President Buhari has achieved what even the US government is trying to do in terms of infrastructure.
As at December 2021, we have completed 941 kilometers of roads across all states and geopolitical zones.
In Kano state here for instance, there are 21 road projects either in, around or in the neighbouring communities.
Before APC administration, when last do you remember Federal Government completing 50 kilometer road in any part of the country?
So, this is the positive change we promised Nigerians in 2015 and it is already happening. They say we are the same with them, but we are not. They stole money and took it abroad, but we are taking this money back and investing it in the area of infrastructure.”
Popular gospel singer, Sammie Okposo has taken down his Instagram and Twitter accounts following his infidelity scandal.
This is coming days after he took to social media to publicly apologize to his wife, Ozioma, for cheating on her with another woman.
However, the saga took a different twist when the woman he allegedly cheated with, came out to disclose that she is pregnant for the singer and intends to keep it eventhough he wanted her to get rid of the pregnancy.
Following her revelation, the singer put his Instagram account on private as he was receiving heavy backlash from netizens.
Well, a quick check on Twitter and Instagram shows that he has deleted both accounts and his handles are no longer accessible.

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a pastor, Timothy Oluwatimilehin, for having carnal knowledge of a married woman and her two daughters.
According to reports, Oluwatimilehin, the presiding pastor of the spirit-filled International Christian Church Olumore Abeokuta, allegedly lured the women away from their home, kept them in his house and repeatedly had sex with them.
A statement released by the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, says the woman’s husband and an official of the Ministry of Women Affairs, lodged a complaint at Adatan police station.
“Upon the report, the DPO Adatan division, SP Abiodun Salau detailed his detectives to effect the arrest of the randy pastor.
On interrogation, the pastor, confessed to the commission of the crime but pleaded for forgiveness. In his confession, he explained that he took advantage of little misunderstanding between the woman and her husband to carry out the devilish act.” Oyeyemi wrote.
Meanwhile, the commissioner of police has asked the anti-human trafficking and child labor unit of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department to take over the investigation of the case in view of charging the pastor to court.

According to a TMZ report on Thursday, January 27, the Yeezy Mogul plans to enlist homeless people to model the clothing from his new collaboration with the Skid Row Fashion Week brand in an upcoming runway presentation.
The initiative would aim to provide jobs with the Skid Row company for homeless people in Los Angeles.

Nigerian lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, has taken to Facebook to educate Nigerians on the process involved in marriage dissolution.
Inibehe blamed the Nollywood movie industry for making people believe that they only need to sign “divorce papers” for their marriage to be dissolved.
According to him, every divorce must go through a trial process and an oral testimony must be provided by the aggrieved party before a judge can dissolve a marriage.
He stressed that signing divorce papers is not part of the process at all, as divorce cannot be granted if both parties consent to it.

“Dear Nigerians,
There is no place in law for spouses to just “sign divorce papers” and end their marriage, and walk away. It is a legal fiction popularized by Nollywood.
Every divorce case MUST go through trial process. Oral evidence must be given before a marriage is dissolved.
Divorce cannot be granted by consent of parties. This is based on public policy and the need to uphold the sanctity of marriage. However, ancillary reliefs like custody of children and settlement of properties can be settled out of court and resolved by consent of parties.
A client in one of the divorce cases in our firm pleaded with me this morning to make the other party to the petition to “sign the divorce papers” in order not to waste time. Nollywood is largely to blame for this idea of a husband and wife signing divorce papers to end marriage.
Although there are procedural and substantive steps that a counsel in a divorce case can take to accelerate the hearing and determination of a divorce petition, “signing of divorce papers” is not one of them. The timeline for determining divorce cases is based on several factors.
For example, if the petition is contested by the respondent, it will elongate the proceedings. The grounds of the petition is also determinative of the speed of the proceedings. Petitions founded on Adultery will likely take a longer time than one predicated on Living Apart.
I should stress that in every petition, the law requires the petitioner to specifically state that the petitioner and the respondent have not colluded or connived to bring the petition. An affidavit must accompany the petition to verify that the content of the petition is true.
Simply put, even where the parties (husband and wife) are no longer interested in the marriage and desire to go their separate ways, a petition MUST be filed in the High Court, and oral evidence must be adduced to prove the ground(s) of the petition before dissolution.
No judge in Nigeria will make an Order Nisi dissolving a statutory marriage without listening to oral testimony. There have been cases where both spouses wanted divorce but the court refused to dissolve the marriage because there was no sufficient evidence to support the petition.
I have said enough, I hope this clarification is useful and will guide people properly.”

According to a Twitter user identified as Iganya, who narrated the incident on the platform, the lady said she lost her bracelet and luckily she found another bracelet on the floor which she picked and turned to hers.
Iganya noted that the lady said she picked up the bracelet she found on the floor because she had been believing God for a transfer of wealth.
However, the pastor quickly cut off her microphone before she could continue.
Narrating the incident, the Twitter user wrote,
“Just remembered that on Sunday at church, one woman came out and gave a testimony that she lost her bracelet and found another on the floor and picked it cos she’s been believing God for a transfer of wealth. Anyways, they cut off her mic. Glad they did cos that’s a thief.”

The ‘Jowo’ crooner had a rigorous workout session with his crew members at his home on Wednesday, January 26.
During the exercise, Davido while addressing one of his crew members who was slamming a tyre with a sledgehammer, said that’s the exact way they would ‘flog’ their goals this year.

Talent manager, Ubi Franklin, has faced heavy backlash on social media over his comment on gospel singer, Sammie Okposo’s cheating scandal.
It was earlier reported that the music executive took to his Insta-story to react to the infidelity controversy involving prominent Nigerian gospel musician, Sammie Okposo.
Sammie Okposo has been in the news after he admitted to cheating on his wife, Ozioma, with a woman he met in the US during a music tour last November.
In response to Sammie’s admission of adultery, Ubi, in a now deleted post noted that cheating is bad for someone at Okposo’s level and for what he represents.
Ubi’s comment was however not well received by Nigerians who accused him of being guilty of the same sin.

Big Brother Naija star, Cross, has melted the hearts of his fans and followers after he replaced the worn out shoes of a delivery driver with new ones.
The delivery driver was at Cross’ house to deliver a package to him when he noticed the very old and worn shoes he had on and decided to gift him a new one.
A video he shared via his official Snapchat handle showed the driver’s worn out shoes and the moment he and his cousin brought new pairs of shoes for him to try on.
The man, who appeared very excited about the gift, immediately removed his worn-out shoes and put on the new ones.

His first child, Toie Roberts is said to be pregnant, and photos of her with an alleged baby bump has been shared online.
In the photos, she donned a blue romper with a tummy belt, however her stomach looked protruded. She placed her hand on her stomach in one of the photos like a pregnant woman would.

Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has taken to social media to call for the release of Kayanmata seller, Hauwa Muhammed popularly known as Jaruma.
News broke out recently that Jaruma was arrested over a post she made about billionaire businessman, Ned Nwoko, on her social media.
It was gathered that Nwoko wrote a petition against the aphrodisiac seller accusing her of publishing false stories about him and his wife, Regina Daniels.
Following her arrest, she was arraigned before Abuja Upper Area Court on charges bordering on defamation of character, false news publication and intimidation.
She has however been remanded in the Suleja correctional center pending the bail hearing slated for Friday, January 28. The judge also adjourned the case till February 23, 2021, for trial.
Reacting to the saga, Sowore took to his Instagram page to slam Nwoko for allegedly causing damage to innocent citizens in his community with the aid of the police.
He also claimed Jaruma is his latest victim and demanded that she be released from police custody.
He wrote,
“#FreeJaruma: It is disheartening that Nigeria Police Force continues to deploy itself to despicable VIP mercenary activities.
