The international Forex broker OctaFX and the musician Buju collaborated in a Christmas charity initiative in Lagos state. They visited an orphanage and treated the children and the staff with holiday gifts and a proper celebration.
Most people probably know how the Christmas and New Year’s holiday season is all about giving back to others and sending kind vibes throughout the stratosphere.
So what better way to return to the community than by supporting the most vulnerable among us? Children.
That is precisely what the musician Buju and the global Forex broker OctaFX set out to do. After some deliberations, they swiftly found the ‘Motherless Babies Home’ in the city of Lekki—an orphanage in Lagos state.
The ‘Motherless Babies Home’ is a state institution known for the care and energy that goes to its young inhabitants. The home houses 56 children and has a staff of 33 people.
Gifts didn’t just go to the youth but also the orphanage’s faculty. According to the initiators, the latter’s sincere effort and hard work seemed appropriate to receive praise.
Buju visited the orphanage on Christmas Eve, 24 December 2021. He and the fintech company threw a party for everybody in attendance.
The Akwa Ibom state native Buju—also known as Daniel Benson—is no stranger to charitable gestures: ‘I have a guiding principle. All dreams at all ages are valid, no matter the circumstances. Starting a life’s journey in an orphanage is challenging for a child, to say the least. A harsher set of cards has been dealt. And Christmas is about expressing love the best way you can. That’s why I levitate towards these special places—to support our youngest who were left without parents’.
The regional OctaFX representative was also optimistic: ‘We are pleased with how much joy Buju and us were able to bring to these wonderful children and their brave caretakers. Initiatives like these drive us so much to do even more as a company—sharing and supporting. It’s crucial for local communities and their progress, as well. Children are simply the future. If they thrive, we thrive, too’.
The 23-old professional singer and record producer has worked with the likes of Zlatan, Burna Boy, and Darkoo, among others. Buju recently released his debut body of work ‘Sorry I’m Late’ and was nominated in three categories at last year’s ‘Africa Music Awards’ (AFRIMA21), including ‘Best Collaboration’ and ‘Most Promising Artist’.
OctaFX is a global Forex broker that provides online trading services worldwide since 2011. It offers a state-of-the-art trading experience to over 7 million trading accounts worldwide. Ossai Success Ovie, Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Media, has opined that parents are to blame for youth’s engagement in ritual killings and prostitution.
Taking to his Facebook page, Ossai chided parents for not instilling the fear of God in their children. According to him, children trained properly won’t engage in such vices.
He further stated that parents no longer question the source of their children’s wealth and who their friends are.
Ossai maintained that parents are the root cause of prostitution and ritual killings in Nigeria.
Read his full post below,
“Our parents are the reasons why our young girls/boys are into Prostitution and rituals. Let me say the truth here, if there is anyone to blame for the killing of our young girls by our young boys are our parents. Over the years, our parents failed to bring up our young girls and boys in the fear of the Lord. Today you see increase In prostitution and rituals killings. Some of you blame it on government inability to provide jobs for the youths but you all also failed to understand that there is no way government will provide jobs for all Nigerians. Majority of our parents are the ones pushing our young girls and boys into prostitution and rituals. I also do understand that there are peer pressure but you see, when you are properly trained with the fear of God, no matter the pressure, there are some things you won’t do. Not because there is no money but because you have the fear of God in you. How many of our parents today question their children source of wealth? How many of our parents today knows where their children are living ? How many of our parents today knows the kind of friends children are keeping? How many of our parents will reject money given to them by their children because they know the money is illegal?. These are some of the questions will need to ask ourselves as parents.”

When you relocate abroad, those things you fast and pray for now seem so elementary, and your mind is able to be free of the religious delusions that previously held you in bondage! Who would ever have believed that Mummy GO will be prancing around a hotel suite in a bathing robe and showing off, like a #BBNaija housemate? The old Mummy GO would have declared such ‘worldly’ behaviour as a ticket straight to hell. Enjoy Dubai Funmi, but make sure you avoid hell.”

Broadcast their manifestos to all your contacts. Forget about rice and pay the price for your future. Don’t be BBNaija wise and Aso Rock foolish! You say your PVC does not count. Who told you? Rigging is only successful when there is low voter turnout out. But where there is a high voter turnout, rigging is all but impossible. You waited patiently until the BBNaija phone lines were open for voting. Now, prepare to wait patiently in line, until the PVC machine reads you vote!
