Ace comedian, Bright Okpocha, professionally known as Basketmouth, has reacted to the arrest of Instagram skit maker, De General by men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Officials of NDLEA stormed De General’s house in the early hours of Wednesday, January 12 to conduct a search and ended up arresting him.
The federal agency, in a statement released later that day, said that drug exhibits, including cannabis sativa, Tramadol 225mg, and 1.5 kilograms of cannabis sativa, were recovered from the Comedian’s house.
Reacting to this, Basketmouth, in a video he shared on social media, said arresting De General over what he called a small patch of weed is a waste of tax payers’ money.
According to him, there are bigger problems that need the government’s attention than embarrassing young boys. He, however, noted that he’s not in support of the use of drugs, but some of these young boys take these substances to keep their sanity because of the happenings in the country.

Nicole Chikwe, wife of Nigerian rapper Naeto C, has spoken out for the first time about being shamed for her looks after she started dating the singer.
Taking to her Instagram page, the model shared a carousel post in which she talked about the criticisms she faced because netizens thought she didn’t look good enough for her husband.
According to her, she was repeatedly trolled on Twitter between 2010 to 2012 over her face and body. She said she was only 22 at the time and it really hurt to be faced with such public criticisms.
Speaking further, the mom of three stated that she used the criticism as a “catalyst” to begin to love herself and see herself the way God sees her.

Crowd throw beer on mother who confronted a lady for flashing her boobs before her kids at a game (video)
A video serving rounds online captures the moment a mother was booed and thrown beer by game-lovers following a verbal confrontation.
The mum had confronted a lady who flashed her boobs at the game while her kids were present at the stadium.
This didn’t sit well with other spectators of the game who seemingly enjoyed the lady’s nude show and they rebuked the concerned mum for confronting the lady.
In the viral video, the game-lovers could be seen throwing beer on the mother as they booed her off.

“I lost my faith in 2020 and I’m probably never going back to religion” — Filmmaker, Editi Effiong
Nigerian filmmaker, Editi Effiong, has started a conversation about religion on Twitter after disclosing he lost his faith in God in 2020.
According to him, he survived 2021 without God and will probably never go back to religion again. He however stated that he strongly believes that God exists.
He tweeted,
“I lost my faith in 2020. Went through 2021 without God. I’m probably never going back to religion, but I could never shake the feeling that God is there. We are not cool, but I’m willing to try.”

A beautiful lady has been recorded expertly stealing a mobile phone from a woman’s bag in a public place.
The video that found it’s way to the internet showed the women coming out of a building. While the woman whose phone was stolen carried a baby with her luggage, the beautiful pickpocket followed her closely from behind.
As they made their way out of the building guessed to be a mall, the lady swiftly removed the woman’s phone and her purse from her bag when she was sure no one was looking.

In other news, a young lady was caught on camera trying to steal a phone inside a church in Warri, after the church’s first Sunday service.
In the CCTV footage that was shared online, the lady was seen pacing around where a phone was plugged, while she waited for the perfect time to steal the phone.
When she was sure no one was watching she quickly took the phone and put it in her back pocket before making her way out of the church auditorium.
According to viral reports the incident happened at the Living Faith Church, A.K.A “Winners Chapel” at Efjeba in Warri, Delta State.
The lady was reportedly nabbed yesterday morning after the close of the church’s first service.

A 26-year-old Nigerian traditionalist, Chinedum Chidimma, and her 30-year-old husband, Chinedum Okemmiri, recently took to social media to mark their first wedding anniversary.
The traditionalist couple who celebrated one year of being happily married on Monday, January 10, 2022 flooded their timelines with loved-up photos of themselves and in lengthy captions gushed over how amazing their union is.

Nollywood actress and disc jockey, Dorcas Shola-Fapson, has opened up on why she grew up hating her mother.
Dorcas shared this during a recent interview on “Tea with Taymesan” Podcast.
She said her parents moved to the UK when they just got married but didn’t have the required immigration papers.
She said when she was two-years-old, her mother was deported back to Nigeria for not having immigration papers but her dad managed to sort himself out.
Explaining the reason behind her short-lived hatred for her mum, Dorcas disclosed that her dad claimed her mother abandoned her in the UK because she doesn’t love her.
According to her, this made her grow up hating her mother because she believed she never loved her. However, she stated that now that she is older, she understands her family’s predicament better.
When asked why her dad lied about why her mum left them in the UK, Dorcas said it was because “he was hurt”.

De General needs to face the law — Journalist, Kemi Olunloyo speaks on the arrest of the skit maker
Investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has spoken on the arrest of skit maker, De General, by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.
Kemi in a post shared on her Instagram story, stated that NDLEA shouldn’t be blamed for arresting drug dealers and users because they need to face the law.
She likened De General to American rapper, Juice Wrld, who died of drug overdose in December 2019 after landing at Chicago’s Midway airport, and asserted that the skit maker needs to “get help for his drug demons”.
According to her, De General who is currently in custody for being in possession of illicit drugs including 200 sachets of 225mg Tramadol and 1.5kilograms of cannabis sativa, needs to face the law.
The controversial journalist, who claims to be a pharmacist, wrote,
“Don’t blame the NDLEA for arresting drug pushers, users and traffickers. I’m a Pharmacist. The same way I slammed Juicewrld for swallowing all that Percocet on the plane when the DEA was waiting is the same way DeGeneral needs to get help for his drug demons. He was in possession of Tramadol, a schedule 2 narcotic without prescription. These pill pushers need to face the law.

Gay rights activist, Bisi Alimi, has sparked outrage from Nigerians on social media after he said that no one in Nigeria will make heaven.
The openly gay Nigerian stated this in a post shared on his Instagram story on Thursday morning, January 13th.
According to him, Nigerians beg for the rapture to happen as if heaven is guaranteed for them. He, on the other hand, expressed skepticism about the existence of heaven.

Traffic hawker captured giving out money to prisoners in a correctional service vehicle in Ajah, Lagos (Video)
The video of a street hawker giving money to some prisoners who were inside a correctional service vehicle in the Ajah area of Lagos has warmed hearts online.
The vehicle was apparently transporting some prisoners and got held up in traffic briefly, at this moment, the hawker who sells water, then approached the vehicle and could be seen giving handouts to random prisoners.
A motorist who noticed the gesture captured the moment on camera and shared it online. After seeing and moved by the video, a few people have asked for the whereabouts of the hawker wishing to help him.

There have been talks/suggestion that Neo and Vee have parted ways and although neither party confirmed it, Vee has shared a photo of a mystery man that will only further fuel the rumor.
She shared the photo of the man but wisely concealed his face while adding a love emoji

The photo came weeks after the Big Brother Naija finalist gave a stern warning to her fans to mind their business when it comes to her relationship status.

Taking to Twitter, she revealed that guys in Nigeria will become extinct if ladies decide to start indulging in fetish practices — she says it’s so because of how easy it is for a lady to lure a guy into a nest.

Nigerian Businessman, Mr. Steve Thompson, the husband of businesswoman and Ubi Franklin’s babymama, Sandra Iheuwa, has taken to his social media page to apologize for his outburst on Instagram last Sunday.
Recall that Thompson had taken to social media to announce that his four-month-old marriage to Sandra had hit the rocks. According to Mr. Thompson, he wasted 45 million Naira to marry Sandra only to discover that she “married for social media, not for the home.”
However, Steve deemed it fit to apologize for his outburst and He stated that all will be well and that a lot will be worked on.

Beauty and cosmetics entrepreneur, Kylie Jenner has become the first woman in Instagram history to reach 300M followers.
Though the 24-year-old mother of one is the first woman to reach 300m followers, football superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo is the most followed person on Instagram with 388M. Ronaldo passed the 300m mark since June 2021.
Jenner had previously dethroned Ariana Grande as the most followed female on the platform, despite keeping a low profile since November after her baby daddy, Travis Scott’s Astroworld concert tragedy which killed 10 and injured hundreds of people.
However, on Wednesday night, January 12th, Kylie Jenner hit the 300m mark, becoming the first woman ever, in the app’s history to reach that milestone.
