Filmmaker and Pastor Laju Iren, warns Nigerians against catching cruise with “Mummy GO”
Nigerian filmmaker and pastor, Laju Iren, has warned Nigerians, especially those on social media, against using the name “Mummy G.O” to catch cruise online.
Educating people on how the term came to be, she issues a caution against the comical use of the term, given the recent viral memes instigated by evangelist Olufunmilayo Adebayo who is popularly referred to as Mummy GO herself.
On her page, Laju shares the photo of the wife of RCCG senior pastor, EA Adeboye’s wife, Foluke Adeboye, stating she is the actual Mummy GO.
She wrote,
Woke up feeling strongly impressed to remind us that this is the actual Mummy G.O. Our generation has the tendency to be mesmerized by what is new and entertaining even when it’s wrong, untrue and misleading. Edit: Some people keep asking me if it means that no one else should be called Mummy G.O. That’s obviously not what I’m saying. But this is a phrase that was developed in the church given specifically to the Wife of the General Overseer of one of the largest churches in Nigeria. Many other churches have adopted this for their pastor’s wife and rightly so. But as the body of Christ we won’t let the legacy of this great woman of God or a phrase that is supposed to invoke honour to be used for someone who is preaching a different gospel of false doctrine.

Horrifying moment an 18-year-old mum tosses her newborn baby into dustbin (WATCH)
A surveillance video captured the moment a teenage mother, Alexis Avila tossed a black trash bag containing her new born baby into a dustbin in Hobbs, New Mexico, US.
The shocking incident occurred around 2:00pm on January 7th but gracefully the baby was discovered alive and crying in garbage bag six hours later after some good Samaritans rescued it.
Quite incredibly, the newborn is now in a stable condition in the hospital. Police have charged Alexis Avila, 18 from Hobbs with attempted murder and felony child abuse for the abandonment. Police officers reveal that she has confessed to the crime.
The footage shows a woman, Alexis driving into the parking lot in a white sedan and put a black garbage bag containing her newborn in it before driving off and abandoning the baby.
More footage show the moment the child was rescued after people apparently heard the newborn’s cries.

EFCC re-arrests Mompha for ‘money laundering’
Popular Nigerian businessman, Ismailia Mustapha, otherwise known as Mompha has been arrested by Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Lagos state command, for allegedly laundering funds obtained through unlawful activities and retention of alleged proceeds of crime.
Mompha, who was arrested on Monday January 10, is currently standing trial alongside his company, Ismalob Global Investment Limited, on an amended 22-count charge bordering on cyber fraud and money laundering to the tune of N32.9 billion brought against him by the EFCC.
EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, who confirmed his arrest to the press in a statement, titled, ‘EFCC re-arrests Mompha for alleged money laundering.’ said Mompha will be charged to court soon.
The statement reads
”The account of one of his companies, Ismalob Global Investment Limited Bank, a Bureau de Change company, domiciled in Zenith Bank Plc, was allegedly used to launder funds derived from unlawful activities.
“Investigation has revealed a fraudulent transfer slip of $92, 412, 75 found in the suspect’s iPhone 8 device. He will soon be charged to court.”

Ghanaian actor cum evangelist, Majid Michel, has revealed he experimented with drugs and engaged in street fights before he became born again.
Majid Michel, who made this disclosure in an interview on Joy FM while speaking about his life before he met Jesus, stated that he consumed narcotics until he became born-again.
According to him, although he knew God, there were times he did not understand the sermons and the teachings he heard from the pastors.
“I used to go out to drink, go and booze, we go and smoke, get into fights on the streets. So I did some drugs; we tried something to see how it goes. We get into fights at Members next to Glenz at Osu.” He said.

Two siblings crushed to death by reckless driver in Ogun (video)
A 15-year-old girl, Olamide, and her 11-year-old brother, Damilola, have died after they were allegedly crushed to death by a reckless driver in Ogun state.
According to their uncle, Yomi Opayemi, who took to Facebook to demand justice for the deaths of his niece and nephew, the unfortunate incident happened on Friday, January 7th in the Ilisan-Remo area of Ogun state.
He revealed that the erring driver, Moshudi Badmus Al-hassan, was leaving the police station with his car that was earlier ceased for reckless driving when he rammed into the two children.
Speaking further, Opayemi claimed the driver killed a third person, and the deceased’s older sibling narrowly escaped being crushed by him.

Nigerian journalist, Agba Jalingo, has revealed the response he allegedly received from a lady he secured a N35k/month job for.

In other news, a former medical student who became a truck pusher has reportedly castrated himself in a bid to “serve God better”.
Terhemen Anongo, who is a 44-year-old resident of Gboko in Benue State removed one of the testicles himself in 2021 and almost lost his life in the process.
The gentleman made headlines in March of 2021 after he personally undertook the surgery, which resulted in lots of bleeding.
Terhemen was however given a second chance at life after being taken for medical attention by those around him.
The man who reportedly dropped out University of Ibadan medical school over alleged ill health, told pressmen that hiscastration was based on his religious belief that since he was not married, he needed to serve God faithfully.
He told newsmen on Sunday, January 9th,
“I went to remove the second testicle based on religious belief. I removed it on Monday. The first one had little hitches but this one having learnt from that experience, I did (remove) it very well. Somebody is always coming to dress it for me.
“I’m fine. There is no problem, I’m only waiting for when the wound will heal so I can remove the stitches.”

Popular crossdresser, James Brown, made quite an impression at the birthday party of influencer, Papaya ex, on Sunday, January 9th.
Papaya threw a grand party to celebrate turning a new age and invited some Nigerian celebrities including James Brown to come celebrate with her.
Interestingly, the controversial transvestite who donned an oxblood ball gown with gloves, showed up at the party with two “traditionalists”.
The two men who had white markings all over their body and tied white cloth around their waists were spotted with James Brown at different times at the event.
He shared a video of his unique entrance on his official Instagram page and it has gotten netizens talking online.
It’s safe to say James Brown’s entrance was the highlight of Papaya Ex’s birthday party.

Young Ahmed has cried out for help after he claimed Nigerian superstar singer Wizkid, who promised him a record deal and N10 million in 2017, didn’t fulfill his promise to him.
It can be recalled that on 2017 Christmas Eve, Wizkid, during his homecoming concert, wowed his audience when he brought out 12-year-old Ahmed from the crowd to rap.
Following Ahmed’s mind blowing performance the Grammy award winner reportedly blessed him with 10million naira and a record deal.
However, in a recent development, the young boy in a video serving rounds online begged Nigerians to help him, while alleging that Wizkid didn’t fulfill his promise to him.
According to Ahmed, he now sings for people on the street to make ends meet.
“If Wizkid really gave me N10 million my life wouldn’t still be like this, I would not be going around begging for money on the streets, Please Nigerians help me beg Wizkid to come and help me.” He said.
Meanwhile, some social media users who claim to know the young boy well, alleged that Wizkid gave Ahmed the N10M he promised him but his parents misused the money.
