President Buhari has mourned the sad death of late Prof. Dora Akunyili’s husband, Dr. Chike Akunyili.
Dr. Chike Akunyili was fatally shot by unknown gunmen alongside his driver and escort on Tuesday, September 28, on his way from Onitsha to Umuoji at Eke Nkpor.
Reacting to the sad incident, the president’s aide, Femi Adesina wrote ;
President Muhammadu Buhari is deeply saddened by the gruesome killing of Dr Chike Akunyili, the husband of the late former Director-General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Prof Dora Akunyili.
The President shares the pain of the offspring of Prof and Dr Akunyili, their families and friends whose lives will never remain the same after the inhuman and reprehensible act that happened in Onitsha, Anambra State.
President Buhari has fond memories of working with the late Dora Akunyili at the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) and Nigerians will never forget the memory of the amazon, who distinguished herself as a courageous, dependable and patriotic citizen.
Enjoining security agencies and leaders of thought to work harder to bring an end to the violence being unleashed on innocent Nigerians, the President assures the grieving families who lost their loved ones in the incident that the perpetrators of the heinous act will face both the judgment of man, and that of God.

No live bullet was fired by the military at Lekki toll gate during End SARS protest – UK-based forensic expert hired by Lagos State says
The UK-based forensic and ballistic company, hired by the Lagos State government to investigate the shooting incident at the Lekki Tollgate, has said no that live military-grade bullet were fired at protesters on the night of October 20, 2020.
The company’s Executive Director, Dieye Willie-Harry, gave the report on Tuesday, September 28, via zoom during the proceedings of the Lagos State Judicial Restitution for Victims of #EndSARS Related Abuses and Other Matters Panel investigating police brutality.
He said: “We have not viewed any footage, which definitively shows a muzzle aimed towards any individual and at the same time being fired with the effect thereof, but what we can freely assess was that no live bullet was fired.”
“However, given the injuries sustained from 21:00 hours and further, we believe that live and military-grade ammunition were fired at some point by persons yet-to-be-identified.”
He said by the time the team of experts arrived in Lagos in December last year, “the medical treatment of victims had reached an advanced stage, injuries had healed and victims had been discharged from healthcare centres”.
Justice Doris Okuwobi (rtd), who adjourned the proceedings at 6:15 p.m., said the panel would retire to consider its ruling and communicate to parties later when the ruling is ready for delivery.
Businessman offers N1 million reward to lady who helped him with food and N20k
A Nigerian businessman who’s known on Twitter as Mazi Gburugburu, recently took to his page to reveal his plan to reward a lady because of her quite surprising act of kindness after he teased that he was hungry and needed money.
According to Mazi, the lady had taken to social media to share that she hates seeing people hungry. He then chose to put her to a test and the actions that followed by the lady made him realize that she’s genuine.
The said lady offered him help in ways he didn’t expected so he decided to offer her N1 million.

“Three months ago, I entered this lady’s DM to tease her. She did a post about hating to see people hungry. So, I told her I was hungry to send me money. Babe legit asked me for my account. Asked if 20k will help me. I told her of course.
I was confused.I checked her out. She was not following Gburugburu. I told her but I was in the UK. Told her I was a student. Quickly, Babe calls her friend in Manchester and arranged to send me £50 so I can eat. Ahh! She told me that her friend can make food and bring for me too.

BBNaija: Shine Ya Eye housemate, Angel, has revealed the length her grandmother went to make sure she didn’t get pregnant as a teenager.
The 21-year-old writer made this disclosure during a heart-to-heart conversation with Cross on Wednesday morning, September 28.
According to her, her grandmother was filled with fear and anxiety because her daughter (Angel’s mom) got pregnant at the age of 16.
In a bid to prevent a reoccurrence, Angel said her grandmother became overprotective and used to inspect her vagina to check if she was still a virgin and not sexually active.
She explained that her grandma would ask her to lay on the bed to check if her vagina/hymen was still intact. Angel averred that as she grew older, she realized that it was a stupid move because not all women have hymen.

Evicted Big Brother Naija: Shine Ya Eye housemate, Nini has reacted to the different snaps of her “boyfriend” that’s been shared online.
After seeing the different photo, she declared that she doesn’t know her boyfriend anymore. While she was still in the Big Brother house, some photos of her with a particular guy —including one where she was laying with him on the bed— were shared online and in the same vein, another photo of her with a different gentleman was shared as well.
The photos emerged after Nini consistently spoke of her “boyfriend” outside the house. However, following her eviction and during her media tour, Nini was asked which of the men was her boyfriend.
In response, she said that she can’t recognize her boyfriend anymore. Here’s an excerpt from the conversation she had,
OAP: Have you seen the different pictures of your boyfriend online? We want to know who exactly among them is your boyfriend. There were a lot of comparisons between some of them and Saga.
Nini: One of them is my friend. We went out for an event together and that was the picture he uploaded. He also uploaded a picture of me sleeping in bed beside him, on that day I was sick and he came visiting. That was when he took the picture. At this point, I don’t think I know my boyfriend anymore.

Soldier orders married woman to slap her husband after she’d assaulted him not knowing he was a soldier
A Twitter user has taken to the platform to share a rather interesting encounter between a soldier, a married woman and her husband.
According to her narrative, the married woman and the soldier were involved in an accident which led to her confronting the soldier and physically assaulting him but at the time of the confrontation, it was unbeknown to her that he was a soldier.
The married woman landed three heavy slaps on the soldier’s face and while still arguing with him, he asked her to call her husband to the scene, who eventually came.. but didn’t know he was coming to face total embarrassment.
The Twitter user with handle, @temitop_ shared on her page,
“May we not end up with partners that will bring us shame.
So this woman was driving and somehow she and another car collided. In the heat of her anger, she got out of her car and landed the driver of the other car two hot slaps across his face.
The man calmly entered his car parked it in a way that blocked off the road, then he came down and told the woman to call her husband to come or they were both not leaving that place.
She maintained her saucy attitude, insulting him and called her husband to come over to take her side against the man. The husband finally arrived, and the man explained to the husband that he is a soldier and he couldn’t hit her back for assaulting him—her blood immediately ran cold.
He then looked to the woman and told her he’d let them go if she slapped her husband the way she slapped him they began to plead with him and beg to no avail. He calmly said that was all he asked and he’d leave them.
The woman having no other choice, turned to her husband gave him the first two slaps; the soldier shook his head and told her it must have the same intensity with which She slapped him earlier.
She gave him another set of slaps and the soldier once more shook his head—at this point she was already weeping seriously. She gave him another set of slaps; this time harder than the first four.
And the soldier nodded, got back into his car and drove off.
Her dazed husband, with stinging cheeks pivoted on his heels and walked away from her as she was begging him profusely on knees.
And so she sat there crying and heaving at her folly and the embarrassment she brought upon her husband. Don’t want to imagine what happened after”.
Suspected cultist arrested after he and others brutalized and stripped a woman for using cult audio in her TikTok video
A man suspected to be one of the cultists who brutalized and stripped a female TikToker naked has been arrested.
The lady created a TikTok video miming to an Aiye cult audio. In no time the video went viral and a group of men said to be cultists tracked her down.
They reportedly took the lady to an uncompleted building where they beat her to a pulp, stripped her naked and poured water on her while filming the whole process.
To further humiliate the young lady they shared her nude photos and videos recorded when they stripped her on social media.
Human right activist, Harrison Gwamnishu in a Facebook post revealed one of the men who perpetrated the evil act has been arrested.
Upon questioned following his arrest, the suspect narrated the part he played in brutalizing the lady and also named others who were involved.

Nigerian lady cries out after her piggy bank ‘mysteriously swallowed her N24k’
A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to lament after a piggy bank she has been saving in since August was almost empty when she opened it.
According to the lady identified as, Olori Worldbest on Facebook she bought the piggy bank in the Dopemu area of Lagos in August and was sure she has saved up to N30,000.
However, when she opened it days ago when she needed some money urgently she found only N6,000 in the piggy bank. Still in shock about how N24,000 mysteriously disappeared the lady warned the public to be careful of where they buy their piggy banks.
Taking to Facebook, she wrote,

Recall that before Nini and Saga’s eviction from the house, Big Brother gave Nini a secret task to leave the house for 24 hours without the knowledge of her colleagues.
The Nigerian-Indian beauty successfully carried out the task and her absence affected Saga who looked all gloomy and sad till she returned.

Registrar refuses to wed a man and his bride because of his hair in Lagos (video)
Talent manager, Ubi Franklin has narrated how a registrar at the Ikoyi registry, Lagos state refused to wed a man and his bride because of his hair.
According to Ubi, he was at the registry to stand as witness of the union, however when they got into the hall the registrar insisted that he wouldn’t join the couple because the groom kept his hair in dreadlocks.
He revealed they had to rush down the street to get a hat for the groom to cover his hair before the registrar eventually joined the couple.
Sharing the video on his Instagram page, Ubi Franklin wrote,

“CBN should mandate all domiciliary accounts to be closed for 12 months to see its effect on Naira” — House of Reps member, Jide Obanikoro
House of Reps member, Jide Obanikoro, has taken to Twitter to share his opinion on what can be done to overturn the continuous fall of the Nigerian Naira against International currencies.
The exchange rate is currently disheartening as the Nigerian naira is gradually losing its value, with speculations that it could drop to N900 per USD before the end of the year.
Reacting to this, Obanikoro opined that the Central Bank of Nigeria should mandate that all domiciliary accounts should be closed for a period of 12 months to see the effect on Naira.
He also pointed out that Nigerians would not be able to travel to any Western country to open a foreign currency account.

Obanikoro’s tweet wasn’t well-received by netizens and he was criticized for being inconsiderate to multinational firms and businessmen/women who need foreign currency to operate their businesses.
Following the backlash, Jide made a U-turn on his statement and said he is fully aware that closing all domiciliary accounts is not the solution to the problem at hand.
He added that the solution is to look inwards and address key issues like local production, exportation and reduction of importation, getting refineries to work again.
The lawmaker further claimed that he only shared the tweet to stir reactions from netizens that would help him in formulating a bill he is working on.

Young woman allegedly beaten to pulp by her boyfriend in Bayelsa
Men of the Yenagoa Central Security, popularly known as YENTA FORCE, recently rescued a young woman who was allegedly beaten to pulp by her boyfriend.
According to a statement shared on their official Facebook group, the members of the vigilante group caught the boyfriend physically assaulting the young woman on Sunday, September 26, and speedily intervened to save the woman’s life.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene after being caught by the YENTA FORCE officers.
Sharing photos of the woman’s badly bruised face, one Suokere Aborowah wrote,

Update: Dora Akunyili’s husband struggled for life as onlookers did nothing after he was attacked (photos)
A video serving rounds online showed late Dr. Chike J. Akunyili, husband to former NAFDAC DG, late Prof. Dora Akunyili gasping for breath shortly after he was attacked.
It was earlier reported that he was shot at Nkpor Junction, Idemili North, Anambra State on Tuesday, September 29, by unknown gunmen. It is reported that he had arrived the state to receive an award on behalf of his late wife when the tragic incident happened.
Though details of the incident are still sketchy, a source close to the family said the deceased was still at the University of Nigeria Nsukka Alumni Association (UNAA) where the late Dora was honoured some hours before he was killed.
In the viral video Akunyili is seen lying on the floor with his bloodied eyes and opened skull. He was gasping for breathe as onlookers made videos of him battling between life and death.
No one came close or bothered to offer help to him after the attack.

Recall that the former housemates, Boma and Tega came under heavy criticism on social media for their relationship which many people tagged a ‘taboo’. Videos of the married woman and her colleague, Boma kissing, cuddling and doing things under the sheet surfaced online.
The finalist in a conversation with his colleague, Pere stated that of all the housemates that has left he’s eager to meet Boma.
According to him, he’s curious to know how Tega’s husband reacted to everything his wife did with Boma on the reality show.

In other news, the evicted married female Big Brother Naija Housemate, Tega has reacted and denied reports of what went down beneath the sheets with Boma in the house. She has denied claim of Boma fingering her.
Tega had an interview at the Pulse Nigeria studios and she revealed that the tissue Boma was seen picking up in a viral video, was for his sinuses. The married mother of one said Boma uses the tissue to blow his nose when it gets noisy during sleep.
Tega also stated that while they kissed and went deep, they had boundaries.

Controversial BBNaija star, Boma Akpore has reacted after a troll lambasted him for labelling those who criticized his actions on the reality show “hypocrites”.
It can be recalled that the 34-year-old actor was heavily criticized for having an affair with married co-housemate, Tega, while they were in the house.
Apparently, he had an interview recently and reportedly slammed those who shamed and trolled him. In reaction to this, a troll slid into his DMs and threw jabs at him for calling his critics “hypocrites”.
The troll wrote, “Just watched ur interview on esplash. Its ur mother that is the hypocrite!! U went to sleep with somebody’s wife and u have the nerve to insult us. Big fool. Of all the script, u ddn see the one to act except touching her. Useless.”
Boma didn’t take kindly to the message as he took to his Instastory to call out the troll and called him/her a coward for using a fake account to insult him.
He also declared himself a “KING FOREVER”.

Convicted Nigerian fraudster, Obinwanne Okeke, popularly known as Invictus Obi, has said it is insulting to compare him with embattled Nigerian fraudster, Ramon Abass a.k.a Hushpuppi.
Invictus, who is currently serving a 10-year jail term in the United States for fraud, made this statement during a recent interview with renowned crime journalist, David Pright.
According to him, he feels insulted when people compare him with Hushpuppi, who is also facing a similar charge in the US, because they have different values.
He said, “It’s insulting. Me and Hushpuppi are not on the same level. Hushpuppi could never achieve what I achieved.
He cannot run a business and we are not similar in any way. He was out to please the crowd, I was out to change lives, create jobs and conquer the business world. I have done so much for my community back home with my charity foundation, which lives has he helped? Nobody.”
When asked if he dislikes the convicted Instagram big boy, he responded,
“No I have never met him, but I just find the continued comparison very annoying. Our impact on the world is very different. I have made a much more positive contribution to society than he has.”
Speaking on how he delved into fraud, he said,
“I was doing a little here and there but the level changed through this one particular friend I used to look up to. I visited him one day and he was living very comfortably with 3 new cars and a huge house at a young age.
When at his house I noticed him on a website that was selling crypto and bank logins. From there I got introduced to other money making schemes that got me where I am today.”
On his regrets, Invictus said,
“If I was a little more patient, I could have achieved everything I achieved in business by not rushing to get startup capital the way I did, however hopefully I can be a lesson to the younger generation that may be tempted to take the quick route in life.
Pick your role models wisely, look up to great leaders and people of good character that look after their communities and families. Believe and you will achieve. Also remember life is a marathon not a sprint.”
