A Nigerian Twitter user has berated women who openly sell and buy charms to entrap rich men and exploit them.

According to the lady identified as @Girl_isBlessed on the platform, it’s saddening that women openly buy and sell charms to entrap men but no actions have been taken against them, as the society considers it as normal.

Expressing her displeasure, she noted that we live in a society with double standards, adding that if a man were to drug a lady to take advantage of her, there would be outrage, but women regularly charm men without there being any outrage or arrests.

Her tweet reads,

“Women openly market charms that keep Men vulnerable in order to milk all their money, Women openly buy, no outrage, no arrests.

“If a man lace a girl’s drink To sleep with her he’s a monster. If a woman use dark powers to milk a man’s wealth she’s securing the bag.

Nigerian writer and lawyer, Reno Omokri has averred that men who send “urgent 2k” to girls using iPhone 12 are unwise.

Reno described ladies with sophisticated phones and are in the habit of asking young guys for financial assistance are ‘marketers’ and only trying to take advantage of the guys.

According to him, any man who falls for their trap thinking he’s special to them is a fool. Taking to micro-blogging platform, Twitter, he wrote,

“A fool can be described as a man with an iPhone 10 who sends money to a girl that sends him an ‘urgent 2k’ text with an iPhone 12. These girls are marketers. They have their daily target. You are not special to her. You are just one mugu among her many Maliyamungus”

Other men use their phones to transact shares, bitcoin and trade forex. And you are there trading in the shares of urgent 2k girls. When poverty hits at the end of the day, you will start blaming your innocent village people for your predicament”.

WhiteMoney, one of the popular Housemates for Big Brother Naija Season 6 has said that Pere’s hatred towards him started from outside the house.

This was disclosed during his diary session, yesterday, Wednesday, where he told biggie that Pere seems to know him from outside the house.

According to him, he didn’t know Pere until they crossed path during the first day in the Big Brother Naija house.

Mazi, as he is fondly called by other housemates noted that the hatred heightened after Pere figured out that he knew who the wildcards were.

“After the altercations I had with him the head of house called the both of us and Boma as the agitator to settle the issue.

“He gave his side of his story and apparently he has been holding this grudge for me from outside the house. Pere’s hatred for me started from outside the house even though I don’t know him.

“He even started saying something about the wildcard that someone who works with the BBN team told me like say Biggy na my neighbor for house.

“I was really upset with the way I was treated but the moment he said he wasn’t going to apologize to me all my anger melted down. It became obvious that this guy naturally had very bad behavior.

“However, I told him that he can only do this inside Biggy’s house because if it were to be outside, I won’t be the one fighting him a lot of people will treat his fuck up,” he said.

BBNaija Ex-housemate, KayVee, has officially issued a statement following his withdrawal from the ongoing reality TV show.

KayVee in a statement released on his Instagram page this evening, said that he wanted to stay on the show till the end but certain events escalated the anxiety he felt in the house and this impacted his disposition. He said he is currently in a medical facility where he is working through the debilitating anxiety.

The statement reads ;

Statement on My Withdrawal From The Big Brother House (Shine Ya Eye) House

I, Ololade Gbolahan Olajide (KayVee), would like to thank everyone for their love and support for the week I spent in the Big Brother House. I am overwhelmed by the love I have received from people within and outside Nigeria.

I must also thank my family and friends for their unwavering support while in the holding house for four (4) weeks.
Being in the Big Brother House has been an experience of a lifetime and has afforded me access to networks and the best supporters a photographer could ever have.

I underestimated the effect isolation would have on my mental health and integrating with the other housemates. I honestly wanted to stay till the 72nd day, and I believe that I have the personality, the empathy, and the game spirit to have made it to the end. But, certain events that happened in quick succession escalated the anxiety I felt and impacted my being the jovial, energetic, and fun person I am.

Man who fought YABATECH for 41 years for the release of his certificate, dies 2 weeks after victory

Comrade Danlad Sunday Oladele, the pioneer president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has died just two weeks after winning a battle to get YABATECH to release his certificate.

According to Senator Dino Melaye, Oladele’s certificate was withheld by the management of YabaTech as a punitive measure over his activism during his days in the college.

In 1980, Oladele, alongside a few others, led the rebirth of the students’ movement from the proscribed National Union of Nigerian Students after the military government of Olusegun Obasanjo had, during the “Ali Must Go struggle” led by Olusegun Okeowo, banned student unionism, which was firmly organized under NUNS.

Oladele was said to have led others, and they regrouped, wrote a new constitution and in 1980, founded NANS.

Oladele’s activism however, “later earned him and most of his colleagues varying consequences such as expulsion, rustication and withholding of their certificates,” Melaye said.

Oladele fought YABATECH for 41 years to get his certificate and, with the intervention of the Senate Committee, the management of YABATECH agreed to present him with his certificate at their next convocation but unfortunately, he died two weeks after.

Olalekan, the son of the deceased, told newsmen that his father was in high spirits and was looking forward to the convocation ceremony but died before then. He added that his father died doing what he loved best, which is fighting for the masses, and he had no regrets.

Big Brother Naija season 6 housemate, Angel’s father has reacted after his daughter was accused of flirting with her friend, Jacki B’s man, Michael.

Recall that fellow housemate, Maria during her diary session on Wednesday, August 18 accused Angel of breaking ‘girls code’ and flirting with a man who her best friend already showed interest in.

When Biggie asked if she thinks Michael should be blamed for not defining his relationship with Jackie B, Maria made excuse for him saying “boys will always be boys”.

Angel’s dad who she claims is her Instagram handler has now reacted and berated people who make excuses for men and would rather blame the woman.

In a lengthy Instagram post, her dad wrote,

“We live in a patriarchal society where men aren’t held accountable for their actions in the name of “men will be men” who made the rules? Because it’s a shitty rule, women aren’t object of blame, a woman shouldn’t be slut-shamed while the guy gets away with ‘you know how boys are’.

“This has been going on in our society for a long time and there’s a lot of unlearning to do, allow women to be liberal with their bodies without making them feel easy or cheap, we keep fighting for equality but when a fellow woman keeps making exuses for the men it takes us 100 steps back.

A woman isn’t easily accessible because she chooses to be liberal with her body. It’s important we hold men accountable for their actions, as we hold women also, isn’t that what equality stands for ? To excuse the grave mistakes of the phrase “boys will be boys has to stop.”

“When people especially women say “boys will be boys,” they end up promoting a harmful rhetoric using a cute, seemingly innocuous phrased to remind us all that men and women are inherently different. To reinforce the assumption that boys are wired to be a certain way. and therefore will be that way no matter what.

Big Brother Naija housemate, Saga has revealed that he and his love interest, Nini, have been having some “under the duvet” action.

Saga, in his diary session on Tuesday, August 17, told Biggie about his friendship with the 27-year-old Edo born housemate, and how he feels about her response to the show host, Ebuka, during the Sunday live eviction show.

Ebuka had asked about her relationship with him but she waved the question, saying she has a boyfriend outside the house and that they are just friends.

Saga, who was seemingly not comfortable with her response, told Biggie that he is a little bit confused about their friendship because they have being doing things under the duvet.

According to him, he has been trying to control his expectations but he feels like they are more than friends.

Big Brother Naija season 6 housemate, Whitemoney’s Instagram handler has released a video to counter Pere’s claims that whitemoney snubbed him on their first day in the house.

Following Pere’s fight with Whitemoney on Monday night they were both taken to the garden by the current Head of House, Maria and her deputy, Boma to settle the rift between them.

When Maria asked that Pere apologizes to Whitemoney he blatantly refused, while claiming that Whitemoney knew he was a wildcard because of an information he got before coming into the house.

Pere insisted that Whitemoney knew about the wildcards and who they were, before he entered the house. To buttress his point Pere stated that on their first day in the house Whitemoney refused to shake his hands or look into his eyes because of the information he had about him.

Well, to counter Pere’s claim Whitemoney’s Instagram handler has shared a video which showed the moment Pere and Whitemoney exchange handshakes and even hugged.

Recall that Jackie B opened up to her former besties, Angel about having feelings for Michael. However, days later Jackie expressed disappointment after catching Angel at different occasions, flirting with her man.

Seeing that someone she considered a friend was trying hard to get close to her man, Jackie started keeping her distance from Angel.
Angel in a conversation with Michael on Tuesday night stated that Jackie B sees her as a threat.

She complained about the rift between her and Jackie and claimed that Jackie had initially given her reasons why she could not be with Michael, and surprised that she’s giving attitude because she (Angel) is close to Michael.

According to her, even though Jackie considers her as her bestfriend in the house she doesn’t owe her any loyalty and can have Michael to herself if she so wishes.

The 29-year-old realtor aired her disapproval during her diary session on Wednesday, August 18. According to her, Jackie B indicated interest in Michael from the moment he stepped foot into the house and Michael also reciprocated the attention.

However, Angel who had a close relationship with Jackie B before Michael’s entry into the house, has used her “powers” to snatch him.

She cited instances when Angel cooked for him, massaged his head for 2 hours and picked him during truth or dare games, despite knowing about his relationship with Jackie B.

Maria berated Angel and described her as disrespectful and not trustworthy.

She said in part: “I don’t see Angel as a threat but I don’t like her.

Banker arrested for allegedly siphoning N10m from customer’s account in Oyo

A 36-year-old banker with a first generation bank, identified as Adeyemi Tosin, has been arrested for allegedly siphoning N10 million from the bank account of a septuagenarian, Oladele Adida Quadri, in Oyo state.

According to the Spokesperson of the Oyo State Police Command, DSP Adewale Osifeso, who confirmed this in a statement released on Tuesday, August 17, the bank account of the 78-year-old victim domiciled at Challenge, Ibadan branch of the bank was drained between August 12 and 13.

It was gathered that the victim’s woes started when his ATM card got trapped in the ATM Machine after a failed transition at the Challenge branch in Ibadan, on July 12.

Pa Quadri was said to have approached the banker for assistance at the banking hall, which made him divulge his account details to him in good faith.

However, the suspect opened a virtual account with another bank where the victim’s money was lodged, with the intention to gradually withdraw money from the victim’s account.

Meanwhile, the case is still under investigation as the police is making effort to crack down on the criminal network and other accomplice.
