Nigerian Giannis Antetokounmpo gives a powerful speech as he helps Milwakee Bucks win first NBA title in 50 years with heroic 50-point performance.
Greek-Nigerian, Giannis Antetokounmpo (Adetokunbo), on Tuesday night, sealed Milwaukee Bucks first title since 1971 with heroic 50-point performance at the NBA Finals.
Giannis scored 50 points along with 14 rebounds and five blocks to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to the 2021 NBA championship after they defeated the Phoenix Suns 105-98 at home to take the Finals series 4-2.
The victory comes exactly three weeks after suffering a knee injury that appeared to put his role in the Finals in doubt.
With the victory, the Bucks clinched the NBA Finals 4-2 and became the only fifth team to win the best-of-seven championship series after losing the first two games.
Speaking after the game, he said ;
“Obviously, I represent my country, both countries, Nigeria and Greece,” Antetokounmpo said. “A lot of kids from there. But not just from Nigeria — all Africa and all Europe.
“I know I’m a role model. But this should make every person, every kid, anybody around the world believe in their dreams. No matter whatever you feel when you’re down, when you don’t think it’s going to happen for you or you might not make it in your career — might be basketball, might be anything — just believe in what you’re doing and keep working.
“Don’t let nobody tell you what you can be and what you cannot do … Just believe, man. I hope I give people around the world, from Africa, from Europe, hope that it can be done. It can be done.
“Eight years ago, eight and a half years ago, when I came to the league, I didn’t know where my next meal will come from. My mom was selling stuff in the street. Now I’m here sitting at the top of the top. I’m extremely blessed. I’m extremely blessed. If I never have a chance to sit on this table ever again, I’m fine with it. I’m fine with it. I hope this can give everybody around the world hope. I want them to believe in their dreams.”

Billionaire Businessman, Obi Iyiegbu, whose popularity in the mainstream media has soared since he held a lavish funeral for his mother, has replied those saying he is into money rituals.
According to the Businessman, what people see today are results of consistent hardwork.
In his interview with BBC Pidgin, he said ;
Miracle no dey give money because that pastor needs the money more. Native doctor no fit give money because his children are the ones who fetch water from the stream. How can he give you what he doesn’t have? Work hard. Work hard.
As for those asking him to “cut soap” for them, he told them to work hard and be consistent.
“Cut soap” is slang used to ask a successful person to give you a bit of what they are using that makes them successful. It originates from the claims that some young fraudsters visit ritualists who give them soap to bathe with for optimal success.”
“If you are in your 20s, work now. I am 46 years. I have done my first half. I don’t know why someone who is just 20 years will say he has not made it when he still has 50 years 60 years ahead.”
“There is no soap to cut for anybody, there is no soap anywhere, work, pray, be good, make your own soap.”

Nollywood Actress, Praiz Sam has written an open letter to Nollywood filmmakers, asking that they stop portraying Igbo men as ritualists.

Popular Nigerian comedian, Twyse Ereme drops a very short funny comedy video he titled, “Positive Or Negative”.
Plane crash survivor and singer, Kechi, shares her Before/After photos as she marvels over how far God has brought her since the incident.
On December 10, 2005, Kechi Okwuchi, a 16-year-old high school senior was aboard Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145 that crashed, killing 107 people on board. She was one of only two survivors. All of her classmates died, leaving her the lone student survivor.
She survived and she hasn’t stopped telling the story of how her life changed forever.
She emerged a finalist at the twelfth season of America’s Got Talent in 2017 and her popularity has soared through the roof ever since.
However, she still has the scars from the crash, and she wears it proudly.
Kechi recently took to her social media page to share photos of how she was ‘one year after the crash’ and ‘what she looks like right now’.

I stumbled upon the picture on the left on my laptop a couple months ago, and i have been contemplating this post since then.
I remember I stared at it for a long time that day. Time makes me forget just how extensive my burn injuries were, and how devastating the effects were to my body. I realize this may shock some of you too.
The pic on the left was taken a good year after the plane crash and by then, intense scar tissue had formed, esp on my face.
I took the pic on the right a few mins ago and made these before/afters, and I marvel at how far God has brought me. I am the result of the hard work of multiple surgeons He brought into my life, nurses, physiotherapists, and love and care from my family, my mom especially.
This is what progress looks like, guys. 2 pictures, 14 years apart. I’m grateful that I lived long enough to see it.
I decided to make this post so that you guys can marvel at God with me.
I want someone who reads this to see that true progress, genuine growth, and lasting change cannot happen overnight. Most of the time during the journey, maybe like me, you won’t notice changes because day by day they’re too minuscule to make a difference. But if you give yourself a fighting chance, if you find the right kind of support on your journey, one day, definitely one day which right now may seem so far away, you will look back like I did this morning and hopefully…you will smile☺️
I heard this in a song and it stuck with me:

The man who works as a driver for a popular ride-hailing app, said on his first day, he got home around 1AM and she was fully awake waiting for him, despite the fact that he’d called her hours ago to go to bed and not wait for him

Church usher commits suicide after being accused of defiling his neighbour’s minor daughter in Delta
A young Nigerian man identified as Jagbefume Oriagioge, has reportedly committed suicide after he was accused of defiling a minor in Agbor, Delta state.
It was gathered that the deceased, a 45-year-old alleged dedicated usher at a branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Agbor, also known as Freedom Hall parish hanged himself in his room at Iregwa Street, Agbor on Saturday, July 17th.
According to reports, Oriagioge, popularly called Pastor might have taken his own life after being accused of defiling one of his neighbours’ minor daughters.
Nigerian Tribune quoted a neighbor of the deceased who spoke on condition of anonymity saying,
“The deceased was suspected to have ended his life as he could no longer bear the shame of allegedly having carnal knowledge of his neighbour’s female child (minor) and which was discussed at the community palace. The deceased was somebody who was not free with people to really tell who he was. We called him ‘pastor’ because we felt he was one.
“But the news of him sleeping with the female child of his neighbour is what we do not understand and now he has ended his life perhaps out of shame.”
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident said the remains of the deceased have been deposited at the mortuary of Central Hospital, Agbor for autopsy.

Baby girl rescued after floating a mile out to sea on rubber ring on Tunisia beach (Video)
A toddler got rescued after floating nearly a mile out to sea on a rubber ring off the coast of Tunisia.
According to reports, the toddler’s parents had reportedly become “momentarily distracted” and by the time they noticed what was going on, their 1-year-old daughter had been blown out to sea by strong winds.
Officers were quickly called to save the baby, who was unharmed but in tears. Video footage shows the moment the tearful one-year-old was rescued and reunited with her parents.
According to local reports, the incident happened just after 5pm on Saturday, July 17, off a beach in Kelibia, on the country’s north east coast.
A Facebook user who shared the video, wrote, “Bravo and watch your children while swimming.
Local authorities also urged parents to be vigilant and not to take risks during expected weather changes in the area, Shems FM reported.

Bolanle who’s a video vixen that appeared in the music video of popular Nigerian singer, Zlatan’s “Pepper dem”, got sent out of her 6 months marriage by her husband, identified as Lincon who accused her of being violent — Lincon took to his Instagram page to make a video accusing her of of being a violent person and as such should return to her parent’s house.
Lincon went on to claim that in course of their 6 months marriage, Bolanle hasn’t been appreciative of the things he’s done for her. The husband also referred to her parents, stating that her mother’s violent nature made her father run away from her.
Nigerian man and his mother die in motor accident after taking her to hospital for routine medical checkup
A young Nigerian man identified as Ohida Ismail and his mother reportedly died following a fatal road accident in Okene, Kogi state.
It was gathered that the young man, a chattered accountant from Kogi state and his mum were coming from the hospital where he had taken his mother for routine medical checkup, when they got involved in the accident which immediately took their life.
The unfortunate incident reportedly happened in Okene on Monday, July 19th. According to a close friend of the deceased, Yushau Shuaib, the mother died immediately while Ismail passed away while arrangement was being made to take him to a better hospital.
A nephew to late Ismail, Baba Isyak also confirmed the incident in a post shared on Facebook today, Tuesday, July 20th.
“At this time yesterday Ohida Ismail was alive when he took his mother for a routine medical check-up. Unfortunately, while returning home after the check-up to prepare for Sallah festivity, the obedient child and beloved mother had an accident on the road,”
“Shuaib Bin Mohammed, his cousin, who always joins my family for Sallah, especially in preparing the Ram Meat, called to inform me that he had gone to attend to the accident victims in Okene.
By the time he got there the mother was died. While arrangement was being made to transport the son who was unconscious elsewhere for a better medical treatment, the son too died.
May Almighty Allah forgive their short-comings and grant them Aljannatul Firdaus. SAD: Nigerian woman dies 4 days after her wedding (Photos)
The family of a new bride have been thrown into mourning after her painful exit just four days after her wedding in Benue state.
The 31-year-old woman, identified as Ate Joy Veronica, and her husband, Irabor Samuel, reportedly had their traditional and court weddings on June 25 and 26 respectively.
Sadly, their joy was shortlived as Veronica fell ill on June 28 and passed away the following day, June 29.
The Marketing graduate has been laid to rest in her hometown, Mbarikyor Wadoor in Gwer Local Government Area of Benue state, on July 10.
Friends and family has taken to Facebook to mourn her demise.
In other news, a Nigerian man, Jamilu Abdulhamid has tragically passed away in a motor accident two day after his wedding in Kano State.
According to reports, Abdulhamid and his wife, Saratu Abdul Salisu got married on Sunday, July 11, in Kano State.
Abulhamid and Saratu were involved in a road accident that occurred along the Kaduna-Abuja highway on Tuesday, July 13.
While the groom died on the spot, the bride was seriously injured and currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital in Abuja.

“I am a victim” – Another alleged Winners Chapel pastor claims he was also sacked for generating low income in his branch
Another alleged Winners Chapel pastor, identified as InChristed Michael, has also come out to claim that he was sacked by the church for generating low income in his branch.
The pastor, who was formerly Abubakar Zubair Michael before he became a pastor, claims he was a pastor of a Living Faith church branch in Lagos.
According to him, they were sacked because their monthly income was below expectation. He added that the Pastor who gave them the sack letter said the church was running at a loss because they finance their housing and other needs, whereas the income they are remitting is not “good enough”.
Speaking about the first pastor’s claims, InChristed revealed that apart from the over 40 pastors that were fired in Ekiti stae, 37 were fired in Lagos and 92 were fired in Benue State.

Lady shares how her secondary school classmate brought policemen to arrest fellow classmate during their reunion
A Twitter user with handle, @soph_minnie has taken to the platform to share how a secondary school classmate of hers staged an arrest on their fellow classmate during a reunion party.
Reacting to a tweet of someone sharing about their own reunion and how it went well, @soph_minnie recounted that their group chat was always in disarray as it was a platform for intense argument and when they eventually decided to conduct a reunion party, someone brought a policemen to arrest a fellow following an intense argument in the group chat.
She wrote:
“Sigh, my own secondary school reunion, all we did was argue a lot in the group chat. Then on the reunion day, somebody brought police to pick up somebody that fought with him in the group chat.”
Young Ghanaian policeman rewarded with N760k, other gifts for returning N138k he found at ATM stand (Photos)
A Ghanaian police officer, got handsomely rewarded for returning GHc 2,000 the equivalent of N138,120 which he found lying at an ATM stand by mistake.
The gentleman, identified as Constable Prince Fordjour, received a total cash price of GHc 11,000 (N759,662) and other souvenirs at a ceremony at the Police Headquarters on July 16, 2021.
The Ghana Police Force narrated the impeccable gesture on their official Facebook handle, and explained that the officer was being rewarded not only for the amount involved but for his integrity.
Fordjour got a total investment fund of GHc 4,000 (N276,240); a gift voucher of GHc 1,000 (N69,060), a current account credited with GHc 1,000 (N69,060) and corporate souvenirs of the Stanbic Bank.
Inspector-General of Police, Mr James Oppong-Boanuh who was also pleased with Constable Fordjour’s action also presented him with a cash amount of GHc 5,000 (N345,300).
The monies put together totaled GHc 11,000 (N759, 662). Ghana police wrote on its Facebook page;
”Stanbic Bank Appreciates Police Officer for Honesty
Constable Prince Fordjour of the Police National SWAT has been presented with a special investment fund of four thousand Ghana cedis; gift voucher of one thousand Ghana cedis, current account credited with one thousand Ghana cedis and corporate souvenirs of the Stanbic Bank, for displaying honesty and integrity.
At a ceremony at the Police Headquarters today 16th July, 2021, the Stanbic Bank’s Branding and Marketing Manager Mr. Mawuko Afadzinu said Constable Fordjour on 5th July 2021 found cash of Two Thousand Ghana Cedis (2000.00 ghc) discharged by the bank’s ATM at Abeka Total with nobody in sight.
However, the constable reported the incident to his Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Theodore Hlormenu who in turn returned the money to the bank.
” It is not about the amount involved but the gesture of the constable which personifies what the police represents in the community, which is the same as our motto ‘Service with Integrity’, ” he said.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mr James Oppong-Boanuh who was pleased with Constable Fordjour’s action also presented him with cash amount of five thousand Ghana cedis (Ghc 5,000) and thanked the bank for not keeping the news to themselves. The IGP used the occasion to encourage Police Officers to stand up for the right thing at all times even when no one is watching.

Ubi Franklin shares video of alleged serial thief caught at his son’s 5th birthday party (Video)
A suspected thief got nabbed at the birthday party of Ubi Franklin and Lilian Esoro’s son and the record label executive took to his IG page to expose the face of the culprit.
Ubi posted a video showing when the culprit was being interrogated – it’s alleged that the culprit is a serial thief who has been caught stealing at two different occasions previously but was pardoned.
In the video, Ubi can be heard shouting at the suspected thief after being caught again at his son, Jayden’s 5th birthday over the weekend.
“See this idiot. You wan come spoil my pikin birthday. You dey mad,” Ubi said.
Another man is heard in the video saying that that alleged thief was caught at an event a day prior after he stole a phone, but was spared.
Someone else as well, claimed the man was caught stealing in Harvesters Church.
Sharing the video, Ubi wrote as caption,
That’s the Thief.
Look out for him wherever You see him.
He stole at an event the previous day and he came to try same thing at my son’s party.

“Off that song. I reject it in Jesus name” – Toke Makinwa reacts to song with lyrics “Don’t need a man that’ll give you money”
Nigerian media personality and self acclaimed “Baby girl”, Toke Makinwa has rejected anything that will not make her need a man that will give her money.
The controversial author shared a video of herself indulging in a karaoke session and then the song, she was singing goes, “Don’t need a man that’ll give you money.”
“Off that song,” the media personality said immediate it got to that part of the song.
She added, “What does this statement mean? I reject it in Jesus’ name.”

She recently spoke about her desire to get married again. The lifestyle vlogger during a question and answer session with her fans revealed she would love to marry again and give her children the family she never had.
“Do you ever think of having a child without marriage? or are you kin on marriage?” A fan asked her.
In response Toke stated that she wants to get married again and give her children a family she never had, since she lost her parents when she was only eight.
In her words,
“I definitely want to get married again, losing both my parents at 8 hurt so much. I’ll like my kids to have what T never had. Hopefully the universe sends me a good man/dad.”

Nigerian singer, Lyta’s UK-based baby mama, Kemi Ayorinde is not close to done dragging him to filth on the internet as she consistently lambastes him on her social media page.
A while ago, Kemi took to her IG page to drag him again following a conversation they had over the phone where he allegedly reached out to her to ‘forgive and forget’.
Challenging his audacity to make such a demand when he’s yet to apologize for his actions, Kemi stated that she will hold to the grudge she has against him till she dies.
In her words,
“This boy called and said forgive and forget??? Just like thatttttt? No apology, no nothing. It’s the audacity for asking me “why are you still hurt for me” like woow!!!

Said already I’m holding onto this grudge till I die, you can go to hell bruuhh.”
Her stance to never forgive the singer elicited a number of reactions from netizens, which appears to have been a trigger for her, as she later went on and on about why she’ll never forgive the singer.
According to her, she’s battling numerous internal diseases because of him… She wrote on her Instastories still,
Aari doesn’t belong to you, doesn’t bare your surname, has nothing in common with you so don’t ever try to claim MY CHILD as yours
Do you want me to tell the world Aari is not your only child? Oops….
Go take care of your other child and worry less about me and MY CHILD. The next time you try to reach me for anything stupid again, I will spill EVERYTHING about you so DON’T and DON’T ever post my child AGAIN ever in your life. I fucking despise you.
Thank God I’m not based in Nigeria, would have taken my own life even before all these social media bullshit, having to take care of my child alone etc…

Nigerian video vixen, Bolanle (in Zlatan’s pepper dem), sent packing from her husband’s house over alleged violence (Video)
A Nigerian lady, Bolanle who’s a video vixen that appeared in the music video of popular Nigerian singer, Zlatan’s “Pepper dem”, appears to be having marital woes as she’s been supposedly sent packing by her spouse.
Bolanle got sent out of her 6 months marriage by her husband, identified as Lincon who accused her of being violent — Lincon took to his Instagram page to make a video accusing her of of being a violent person and as such should return to her parent’s house.
Lincon went on to claim that in course of their 6 months marriage, Bolanle hasn’t been appreciative of the things he’s done for her. The husband also referred to her parents, stating that her mother’s violent nature made her father run away from her.
