It appears that popular Nigerian Chef, Chioma Avril is living her best life despite the media hulabaloo caused by the complicated state of her relationship with singer and DMW Boss, Davido.

Chioma shares a child with Davido, but according to some insiders, the couple have no been living under the same roof and for a while now, it has been speculated that their love has exhausted its “Assurance”.

While neither Chioma nor Davido confirmed or debunked the speculations, both are still living their best life.

Chioma in particular, has changed drastically albeit in a very positive way, and she is not shy to show off the state of her body on social media.

CAN finally sends condolence message following T.B Joshua’s death

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has finally commiserated with the family of late popular Nigerian pastor and televangelist, T.B Joshua.

This is coming after Nigerian journalist, Dele Momodu and media personality, Daddy Freeze berated the association for keeping mum following the death of the popular Nigerian clergyman.

CAN in a letter signed by its president, Samson Ayokunle, and addressed to T.B Joshua’s wife described the deceased as one of the foremost Nigerian charismatic pastor, televangelist, and philanthropist who devoted his entire lifetime to the propagation of the gospel.

The letter reads,

“The news of the demise of your darling husband, Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, who was until his transition at the age of Fifty-Seven (57) was the leader and founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations came to us amidst great shock and sorrow.

“We are particularly sad because the deceased showed no trace of illness prior to his demise after an Evening Church Service on Saturday 5th June 2021. We commiserate with you, the children and the entire members of SCOAN on this irreparable loss.

“Prophet T.B Joshua was one of the foremost Nigerian charismatic pastor, televangelist, and philanthropist who devoted his entire lifetime to the propagation of the gospel and ministering to the needs of the downtrodden. He was renowned for his philosophical simplicity and humility. His death is not only a loss to the family and the church, but to Nigeria and the world at large.

“There are indeed no exact words of comfort at a moment like this, but we humbly enjoin you to take solace in the Will of the Almighty God, who works in us both to do and work according to his good purpose (Philippians 2:13).

“We know that Our Lord Jesus Christ in whom there is all-sufficiency, and whom you have been serving wholeheartedly will make all grace abound unto you at this trying moment (2 Corinthians 9:8).

“On behalf of all members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), we commiserate with you, and the entire family on this loss. It is our prayer that the Almighty God grant Prophet TB Joshua an eternal rest in his creator, and may God’s perpetual light continue to shine on his path (Amen). Once again, please accept our heartfelt condolence.”

The phone was presented by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, today June 9, before this week’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting commenced at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Speaking about the novel product, Adebayo said it was produced by the Electrical/Electronics Technology Department of the Industrial Training Fund’s (ITF) Model Skills Training Centre, using locally sourced components.

He said:

“Twelve indigenous mobile cell phones produced by the Model Skills Training Centre of the Industrial Training Fund; an agency under Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment was launched.

“It gives me great pleasure, Mr President, to present you with one of the phones.”

Northern farmers lament as onions rotten over refusal to supply to South

Onion farmers in the North have complained about the deterioration of their produce as suppliers have refused to supply to the southern part of Nigeria.

According to reports, over 50 trucks of onions have rotted away at their farms and markets since the suspension of the supply of onion to the South.

Recall that the Onion Producers and Marketers Association of Nigeria (OPMAN), announced the suspension of the supply of onions to the South-East over the security challenges currently facing the region.

The national president of the association, Aliyu Isa, who made this announcement at a press briefing on Wednesday, May 2nd, revealed that association’s decision was based on the recent hijack of two of their member trucks by suspected members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

The OPMAN president, Aliyu was quoted by Daily Trust saying,

“If the government fails to adhere to the demands of the association, we are shutting down the supply of onions to the entire South by Monday, June 7, 2021.”

Nigerian music producer, Fayabeats, has taken to micro-blogging platform, Twitter to narrate how he beat three different types of cancer in one year.

The producer who clocked a new age today, June 9th in an appreciation tweet thanked God for miraculously sparing his life.

One would agree that not many people are fortunate to survive cancer but Faya beat three different types of cancer at different times in one year.

According to him, In January 2020 he was diagnosed with Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma and Brain tumor with extension to the eyes, metasis to spine in November same year.

Sharing photos of himself at various times of the illness and now that he’s recovered, he wrote,

“It’s my birthday . if i refuse to thank God i’d be an ingrate. Fought three different type of cancers in a year!
1 : Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma jan 2020
2 : Brain tumor with extension to the eyes, metastasis to Spine November

A lady has been nabbed for catfishing on a hookup site and almost destroying her victim’s relationship in Edo state.

It was gathered that the suspect used another woman’s picture as profile picture on the hookup site.

Whenever she receives a message from a potential client, she sends her real picture before they meet physically. Apparently, she uses the victim’s picture as a cover for her “thriving” business.

However, she ran out of luck recently after she was caught by some security operatives.

Videos circulating on social media shows the moment the lady was being interrogated. In the video, she revealed that she is a prostitute and charges up to N15k for her services.

The lady broke down in tears as she admitted that she was wrong for using another person’s picture for her selfish gain.

Ghanaian hairdresser allegedly stabs boyfriend to death over soup days after she accused him of cheating on her

A young woman has been arrested by the police for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend to death with a scissors over grasscutter soup, in Ghana.

It was gathered that before the unfortunate incident the suspect who is a 27-year-old hairdresser had earlier accused the boyfriend of cheating on her.

According to a police source, the lovers engaged in a heated quarrel after the deceased denied the suspect a grass cutter meal he was eating.

The deceased, Prince Yaw Aboagye, was later found lying lifeless in front of their room at Abesim in Sunyani municipality, Ghana, after his girlfriend, Hilda Asumani stabbed him with a scissors.

Hilda, a mother of two, allegedly stabbed Aboagye four times on the neck and chin and sensing danger, she tried to stop the blood that oozed from the wounds with a bedspread.

According to some co-tenants who spoke to journalists, the couple who have been in a relationship for over six years and blessed with a child, had been having heated argument and fights for some time now.

A resident who pleaded anonymity said Hilda and her boyfriend had a misunderstanding last Sunday, June 6th, after she suspected him of having an affair with another woman.

Hilda seized his phone later and that led to fight which was later resolved though she refused to give him back his phone.

The body has since been deposited at the Bono Regional Hospital for postmortem while the police continues investigation.

Former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri has called out Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, for allegedly using a Bitcoin trading app and VPN despite its ban in the country.

Recall that Malami shared a screenshot of his phone’s interface to announce that he has deactivated his Twitter account, in solidarity with the Twitter ban in Nigeria.

However, Reno Omokri has accused Malami of using a “Latoken app” which is a cryptocurrency trading app. He also claimed that the politician used VPN to access his Twitter account.

The social media commentator shared a screenshot of Malami’s Facebook post and used an arrow to point out the App icons.

He wrote,

“Dear citizens of Nigerians,

Look very closely at the screenshot Abubakar Malami shared to prove he has deactivated his Twitter account. The app logo you see at the top is for LAToken, which is a #BitCoin trading app. Please do not take my word for it. Investigate it for yourself. Has the Attorney General of the Federation, who himself announced and enforced the ban on Cryptocurrencies been trading in Bitcoin after banning it and ruining the livelihood of thousands of Nigerians?

Also, there is a VPN key logo on the screenshot. Why is the Attorney General of the Federation using a VPN key?

Malami’s screenshot raises more questions than it answers, and Nigerians should demand answers!

Dear Abubakar Malami, SAN,

If you try to edit the attached screenshot photo, it will be taken as a sign of your guilt. I have already alerted the media. The screenshot from your verified Facebook page has been sent for authentication by Facebook. It is established that you have been trading in #Bitcoin, using the LATOKEN cryptocurrency trading app, in violation of the very same law you announced on behalf of the Muhammadu Buhari administration as the Attorney General of the Federation. You must step down and be investigated, and then prosecuted. You deprived thousands of Nigerians of their source of livelihoods through that law, only to secretly profit from the same #cryptocurrency you banned.”

In another post, he wrote;

“If the Chief Law Enforcer of the Muhammadu Buhari government, Abubakar Malami, SAN, is himself trading in #Bitcoin, as can be clearly seen by the LATOKEN icon on the screenshot he released showing he has deactivated his Twitter account, then not only must he step down and apologise, but his government must repeal the law and allow Nigerians who lost their source of income benefit from trading cryptocurrencies as well.”

Human Rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana has faulted the Government’s suspension of Twitter operations in the country.

The senior lawyer was a guest on the Wednesday edition of Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, where he said the government is not permitted to resort to self-help in a constitutional democracy.

According to him, what this implied is that the government is supposed to have “sued Twitter if the organization refuses to respond positively to the concerns of the government”.

He added that the lawsuit should have been filed in the United States of America or in Ghana where the microblogging service provider has its African headquarters.

Children’s book writer, Icona, explains why she feels lucky to be Childless

A popular children’s book writer, Icona has taken to social media to explain why she feels lucky to be childless.

According to her, being childless is her personal choice as she noted that writing children’s books is not the same as wanting a child.

In a lengthy Twitter thread Icona explained that being childless helps her to devote her entire life to books. To backup her points she gave a long list of childless authors who are her role models.

She further revealed that her knowledge of feminist revolution and contraceptives helped her to achieve her desire to remain childless.

Her tweet reads,

“Thinking about how lucky I am to be childfree by choice, to do minimal housework for myself only, and to devote my entire life to books. The women of the past who had limited rights and options and were forced to become homemakers against their will had no such privilege.

I’m haunted by the thought of all the women in history who were forced to become homemakers, and died delivering children they never wanted. The Enlightenment, the feminist revolution, and contraceptives saved me from that terrible fate. I will never, ever take it for granted.

By the way, the fact that I’m a children’s writer and I don’t have children is not a new revolutionary concept. See below, and also look up the lives of many more childless authors such as Maurice Sendak, T. H. White, Beatrix Potter, Lewis Carroll, and J. M. Barrie.

For those of you who think writing children’s books is the same as wanting children, please check out the lives of Louisa May Alcott, Edward Gorey, Tove Jansson, Hans Christian Andersen, and Dr Seuss, who famously said, “You’ll have kids, I’ll entertain them!”

Now that I look at this list I notice that almost every single role model I had as a child was a childless author. I always wanted to be a writer like them, so it’s no wonder that I settled so easily into my bookish, childfree adult life and never doubted my choices.

Popular singers, Tiwa Savage and Seyi Shay, have been involved in a fight in a salon in Lagos.

In a video, that went viral on social media, the duo was seen exchanging verbal shots and they had to be pulled apart to prevent the fight getting physical.

Later on, Seyi Shay told her own side of the story and she claimed Tiwa Savage stole her song “Mr. Lova Lova”.

In her words;

This is the same person that went to go and sing my song. One of her biggest songs, “Mr Lova Lova”. I co-wrote that song with Ceeza Milli. I wanted to run mad. I called her immediately. I said, “Tiwa, that Mr Lova Lova song, I just saw it. Congratulations, but I need to let you know I co-wrote that song. I need you to give me my metadata.

At least, give me my credit.” She said No ooo, that she doesn’t believe I co-wrote that song. That what should she do, the song is out already. I recorded the whole conversation. This is the same girl that went to attack a popular male artist that we all know for featuring on one of my songs and featuring on her song too.

This is the same girl that went to approach a very big brand that we all know and threatened to take them to court unless they take me off their ambassadorship.

Some female members of the National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), have been spotted on camera putting their self defense skills to test at the NYSC orientation camp.

In a video that’s been making rounds on social media, three female corp members are seen showing off hand-to-hand self defense techniques to be used against attackers.

The ladies were paired with male corp members who acted as assailants moving to try and assault them — the ladies then disabled the men and wrestled them to the ground.

Onlookers around were impressed by the drill as they applauded and cheered in excitement.

It can be recalled that Mya Yafai and Davido sparked relationship rumour few months ago after a video of them holding hands surfaced online.

The speculation was fueled further when photos of them kissing in a photo booth went viral. The photos caused a stir online as Davido was called out for disrespecting his ex-fiancé, Chioma Rowland aka Chef Chi.

However, it appears Davido’s alleged new girl friend has been accepted by fans. After she shared the new photos, some fans took to the comment section to compliment and call her “Our wife”.

Italian club, Inter Milan striker, Romelu Lukaku has motioned that racism in football is at an “all-time high” ahead of the start of the European Championships.

The 28-year-old forward who is gearing up for Belgium’s opening game of the Euros against Russia on Saturday has received racial abuse a number of times, notably when he was the subject of monkey chants from fans in 2019.

“I think racism in football right now is at the all-time high. Why? Because of social media now as well,” Lukaku told CNN Sport.

“I understand why people like Thierry Henry are blocking social media because it’s easy, you can track somebody down … The social media companies, they have to do more for me.”

Earlier this year, former Arsenal forward Henry deleted his social media accounts following a spate of online racist abuse aimed at Black footballers.

He slammed social media companies for their inability to hold users accountable for their actions.

“For me, to be honest, I don’t really see progress. I see a lot of campaigns and all that stuff, but really until there is no real action taken,” Lukaku added.

“In Italy, when it happened to me directly, there was something that was done because the Serie A really communicated with me and my team.

“And we basically tried to educate people in Italy that it is not good, because in Italy, it is a beautiful country and I’ve been accepted really well by everybody, home fans, away fans.

“I think when that happened, it changed. That’s what all the leagues should do. They should talk to the players and basically try to start doing things with the players and with their teams.”

Builder breaks down house he worked on ‘after owner refused to pay £3,500’

A builder has pulled down the house he built for a client after he refused to pay to pay him an extra amount of money.

It was gathered that the owner of the house who was away on holiday contacted the builder for a two-storey extension and an enlarged kitchen on his house in Stoneygate, Leicester.

On completion of the project the builder requested for an extra extra £3,500 which the owner of the house, Jay Kurji refused to pay.

On Tuesday, June 8th the builder reportedly went to the house at Stoneygate, Leicester to destroy the house since the owner refused to pay him the extra money.

Speaking on the incident, 40-year-old Jay Kurji said,

“I had gone on holiday and was 200 miles [away] when it all happened on Tuesday (June 8). I’ve contacted the police, who said it was a dispute and not a criminal case, and I’ve emailed Trading Standards. I’m still on holiday so it’s difficult to sort out from here.

“I bought the house last year. The builder started in February and we wanted lots of work done so it could become our family home for six of us.

“We wanted a two-storey extension, a new roof, new wiring and for it to be more environmentally-friendly. Unfortunately, I picked the worst builder.”

A neighbour who confirmed the incident stated that the demolished building had left the street a mess.

In his words, “The work had been going on and there was scaffolding up and it all had planning permission. Then people noticed the builders starting to remove things and demolish the work that had been done. The neighbours are really upset with how it looks and the fact it has also ruined the pavement.”
