A kidnapper lost his life in the process of trying to take delivery of the ransom for his victim in Abobo village in Okehi Local Government Council of Kogi state.
The armed abductor was shot dead by Men of Okehi Local Government Professional Hunters around 5.23am on Tuesday, June 29th. According to reports, the three-man kidnap gang came from a hideout around Abobo area, behind Itakpe, metres from the highway.
As the hunters engaged the gang in a gun duel, killing one of them instantly, the remaining two sustained injuries but managed to escape.
The hunters eventually rescued the victims who were held captive in the area and reportedly combed the forest for the fleeing kidnappers.
The corpse of the slain man and a gun recovered have been handed over to the DPO in charge of Okehi division, Mr Ovanja Yakubu, for further investigation.
Chairman Of Okehi Local Government, Hon Abdulraheem Ohiare Ozovehe, who was present at the scene assured all Okehi citizens of his continued readiness to secure his domain and environs.
“My topmost priority as an Executive Chairman is to secure the lives and property of our Citizens,” said Hon Ohiare.
Hon Ohiare further appreciated Governor Yahaya Bello for providing necessary facilities to Okehi Local Government professional hunters in curbing crime within Okehi LG and Kogi State.

More shocking facts have emerged about 21-year-old Chidinma Ojukwu who allegedly murdered Super TV CEO, Michael Ataga.
According to a report by Vanguard, family sources claim that the self-confessed suspect is not from a broken home as she insinuated, but reportedly disowned her family due to some misunderstanding she had with her widowed mother.
One of her siblings, identified simply as Chioma, told detectives that they lost their father when Chidinma was barely two years old. Her mother was said to have remarried but that her children were still with her.
Chidinma’s mother who presently resides in Mowe, Ogun State, reportedly told some of her relatives that she has not set her eyes on her for 10 years.
Close relatives stated that Chidinma was taken to to her Uncle’s house in Mushin after she was caught smoking when she was barely 11, and was reportedly thrown out of her uncle’s house again because of her smoking attitude.
Davido’s personal logistics manager, Israel DMW has issued a stern warning to his fans, followers and Nigerians in general.
In a post he shared on his Instastories, Israel told people to celebrate and give him his proverbial “flowers” when he is still alive.
According to him, anyone who didn’t celebrate him when he is alive shouldn’t show him fake love when he dies because they will die an instant death.
Israel’s post comes after the untimely demise of one of Davido’s crew members, Obama DMW, which has thrown the entire crew into a state of mourning. Obama reportedly died in a Lagos hospital after complaining of breathing difficulties.

The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mele Kyari, has stated that the price of Premium Motor Spirit, petrol should be more than N280/litre at which Automotive Gas Oil, also known as diesel, is being sold.
According to Mele Kyari, smuggling of petrol from Nigeria had impacted negatively on the Nigerian oil sector but added that this would not lead to another closure of the borders.
He disclosed this on Tuesday during a Channels TV programme, where he noted that efforts were being made to curb smuggling.
The NNPC boss said although petrol evacuation by NNPC in Nigeria was currently about 60 million litres daily, the corporation was sure that consumption was not up to that volume.
He said organized smuggling was the reason for the huge consumption volume, stressing that the low petrol price of N162/litre was also an incentive for this.
Kyari said,
“Today we are paying N162/litre (for petrol). I am sure many people buy AGO (diesel) in the market and it is selling at N280/litre in the market today.
“So (there is) nowhere in the world diesel sells more expensive than PMS. That means that the price of petrol anywhere in the world, assuming you are going to sell it at the market, you are going to sell it above that price you have seen.”
On what the landing cost of petrol could be as of Tuesday, Kyari said the cost of the commodity at filling stations would be around N256 per litre, with lower price as its landing price.
“Today, from what I can remember, I checked the number two days ago; what would we sell if we are at the filling station today and recover our cost fully is around N256/litre,” he stated.
Kyari said the ongoing meetings between the government and the organised labour on petrol price had not been concluded and could drag beyond next July.
He explained that negotiations on the cost of petrol would have to be concluded to enable the government to effect a change in the cost of the commodity.

Obama died on Wednesday at Ever-care hospital in Lekki, Lagos, a few hours after driving himself to the hospital, where he was admitted for treatment.

Augustine Izu, a final year student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) has been reportedly shot dead by unknown gunmen.
It was gathered that Izu was shot dead in his compound on Tuesday, June 29th few hours after his final paper and sign out.
The gunmen attacked the fresh Political Science graduate in his house located in Ugbowo, Edo State.
According to reports, Augustine Izu died on the spot but his friend Walter Emeka who was also shot in the arm by the masked men survived and rushed to the hospital where he is receiving treatment.
In other news, a tragic incident occurred at the Federal College of Education in Pankshin community of Plateau, as a final year student of the institution was killed by lightning.
The 27-year-old student of the Social Studies/Music Department identified as Ponyak Danladi, was killed by a lightning strike at Agric gate while heading home after an exam.
He was reportedly sitting for his final examination in National Certificate in Education (NCE) before the sad incident occurred. The corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the Pankshin General Hospital.

The DMW signee in an Instagram chat with a friend revealed he was with Obama yesterday morning with the other DMW crew who came to see Davido off.
According to him, Obama woke up and was complaining of having difficulties breathing, he drove himself to the hospital and was shocked to receive the news of his death moments later.
An heartbroken Peruzzi stated that he quit smoking and alcohol as he speculates that it might have been the cause of Obama’s death.

A video of late Delta lawmaker, Kenneth Ogba dancing at a function shortly before he died has surfaced on the internet.
It can be recalled that Hon Kenneth Edafe Ogba, member representing Isoko South 1 Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly reportedly slumped and died on Sunday, June 27th.

Congratulations are in order for a physically challenged lady, Precious Nnagboro, who recently bagged a BSC from a prestigious Nigerian university despite being an orphan.
It was gathered that Precious, an orphan lost dad in 2004 when she was in Jss2 and her mum died years later, when she was in 100 level on the day of her matriculation.
According to Grace who shared her story on LinkedIn, she met Precious when she was in her final year and was impressed by her strong will to succeed despite being an orphan and an only child.
Grace noted that Precious’ life is a lesson to everyone that anything is possible with God. Meanwhile, the inscription on Precious’ sign out shirt reads, “No papa. No mama. God did it!”.
The microbiology graduate in an interview with BBC shared the challenges she faced as an orphan and a physically challenged young lady, while in school.
She noted that due to her condition some of her classmates never wanted to have anything to do with her.

The Federal government of Nigeria has arrested the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami(SAN), announced this at a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, June 29. Kanu was arrested in the UK and extradited to Abuja for trial on Sunday, June 27.
According to Malami, he was arrested by the collaborative effort of security agencies in Nigeria and Interpol. He further disclosed that Kanu would be taken before the Federal High Court in Abuja for the continuation of his trial on charges bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony, unlawful possession of firearms and management of an unlawful society.
Nnamdi had fled the country after a Federal High Court in Abuja granted him bail on health grounds in 2017. The Judge who granted him bail revoked it on March 28, 2019 and issued a Bench warrant for his arrest in any part of the country.
