In line with the reports of the recent death of Minister of State for Labour, James Ocholi, his wife and his son, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has disclosed tips drivers should adhere by in the situation of a burst tyre while driving.
The tips are listed as follows:
STEPS 1: Start with maintaining a safe driving speed; there are just no two sides to this. The lower your speed, the higher your chance of survival. A blowout at 80–90 km/h (50–56 mph) will be far less dramatic than one at 140–150 km/h (87–93 mph). Indeed, if you survive a tyre burst at 150 km/h (93 mph), consider it a gift of God.
STEP 2:Do not slam on the brake pedal. Of course, this is easier said than done, as our brains are hardwired to instinctively jam the brake pedal in an emergency. Hard braking is actually the worst thing you can do as it will further imbalance the vehicle and throw it out of control.
STEP 3: Don’t abruptly take your foot off the accelerator. Do it slowly and gradually. In fact, Michelin recommends that you maintain accelerator input momentarily, before releasing it slowly. The deceleration force from a blown tyre is so strong that your car will anyway slow down rapidly. If you have engaged cruise control, be sure to disengage it immediately.
STEP 4:Try your best to keep the vehicle pointed straight. Cornering or turning with a blown tyre will greatly upset the car’s composure. If your car is pulling to one side, you might need to pull the steering in the opposite direction to keep it going straight. This is critical, else you risk drifting into the road divider or worse still, the opposite lane.
STEP 5:Do not attempt to over-correct. The key is to maintain the vehicle’s stability. A sharp yank of the steering wheel can result in a rollover. Even when you have gained control and are slowly moving to a safe parking spot, do so with the mildest steering inputs possible.
STEPS 6:Allow the vehicle to gradually coast to a stop. Use engine braking if necessary. Lightly engage the brakes only when your car has decelerated to a slow speed. Use the turn indicators and pull over safely off the road. Drive on the bare metal wheel if you have to, but do not stop in the middle of the road as you run the risk of getting rear-ended by a speeding car. Remember to activate your hazard lights when stopped.

What would have been a source of joy for the young family of Adekunle Balogun, after waiting on the Lord for three years after marriage for a fruit of the womb, has turned out to be a source of pain, sorrow and tears as his wife, Titilayo, died shortly after giving birth to a set of triplets.
Balogun, a resident of Abesan Estate, Ipaja, Lagos State, was looking forward to holding his children and his lovely wife but all the hopes have been truncated by the cold hands of death after Titi died at the Ifako Ijaye General Hospital after a Caeserian Section (CS), was conducted on her on February 10, 2016, denying her the joys of motherhood.
Adekunle Balogun and the late Titilayo
The young man who is now saddled with raising his triplets without a mother, has therefore, appealed to the State government to come to his aid so that he can comfortably take care of the babies.
50 Cent is leaving Instagram, or has left already. Hours ago, the rap guru took to the social media platform to slam the U.S. Courts following his claim that the dollar stacks he posted were fake.
Recall that the G-Unit rapper was summoned by a U.S. bankruptcy court judge who believes he is dishonest with his claim of being bankrupt when his IG page is filled with photos of himself surrounded by cash.
In court, the rapper’s lawyer claimed that the cash displayed were simply Prop Money – fake cash used mostly in music videos and films, that he was simply showing off as part of social media marketing.
But the case could sink the rapper, Billboard reports, because there are rules about showing off fake money to avoid counterfeit issues.
The law does not specify if it is acceptable to share fake money on social media, but it states clearly that the size of the money and the colour must be different from real cash.
And so, if 50 Cent did not follow the rules in displaying his prop money, he could be in trouble with the U.S. Secret Service.
50 Cent reveals that he has been contacted by the U.S. Secret Service over this, and the rapper appears to be deeply upset by this. On Instagram, he shared lots of photos he said the U.S. courts are comfortable with while blasting them. Then came the big announcement: that he is leaving Instagram.
Early reports from the preliminary road traffic investigation into the accident that killed the Late Minister of State for Labour, Mr. James Ocholi (SAN), his wife and son has brought up curious and indicting revelations.
The Corp Marshal of the Federal Roads Safety Commssion (FRSC), Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi who led the investigation team, told the Federal Executive Council that besides the reports that alleged the driver to be over-speeding, they found out that the Dunlop tyres on the sports utility vehicle (SUV) were wrongly attached to the rim inwardly instead of outwardly.
He noted that the Tyres were far from expired.
He added that the vehicle was without a communication link with the minister’s pilot vehicle occupants who tried desperately to communicate with the minister’s driver through his phone to reduce his speed.
Oyeyemi, who gave details of the investigations, said the driver who had driven at high speed lost control when the rear tyre of the vehicle they were travelling in burst on the Kaduna-Abuja expressway, about 180 kilometres from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The investigation came after a call for an investigation into what has been described as a conspiratorial event by the uncle to late Minister.
He said that the front seat passengers who had seat belts survived and said it was unlikely the Late Minister and his family at the back seat used seat belts.
He said the drivers details were not registered on the FRSC database as licenced drivers.
He called onPresident Muhammadu Buhari to lead the campaign on road safety.
The Federal Government has announced March 18 for the burial of the late minister.
What you see in the board above was allegedly written by a certified teacher. Nura Alkali who employed the female teacher went berserk after he saw the level of her literacy courtesy of what she was actually teaching his children.
He wrote;
‘This was written by a certified school teacher i hired to tutor my children three sessions a week at 12K per month. I’m sacking her today. The Nigerian teacher-training system definitely needs a shake-up’.
There were reports that there is a currently widespread blackout in the country over the plummeting power generation which recently has dropped to 1, 580.6 megawatts.
The reason for the drop is said to be the after effects of pipeline vandalisation, plus the partial collapse of the Shiroro power plant.
Nigerians who have endured days of no electricity have taken to social media to protest and also call out the Power Minister Tunde Fashola for the promises he made after he resumed office.
I haven't had electricity for FOUR days, but carry on… As you were.

Two women in Islamic attire were removed from a JetBlue flight 487 on Saturday after landing for allegedly filming the cabin crew. They were both arrested by the Police and escorted off the aircraft.
The arrest was posted online by a Wired journalist Mark Frauenfelder whose friend, Sharon Kessler, was on the same flight as the women but the video has since been made private after it went viral.
The airline has denied the women were ejected because of their presumed religion and says it was it simply paying “due diligence” to security procedures.
Footage of the event, which has now been made private, was posted online by former Wired journalist Mark Frauenfelder.
According to Frauenfelder, Kessler, in a facebook post said that she “overheard a flight attendant tell a co-worker that she didn’t like the way two Muslim women were staring back at her.”
Kessler said that the crew member told another member that “she didn’t appreciate being stared at – she did not seem rattled or scared – just smug,”.
“It was a terrible moment, honestly. These women sat quietly, watched movies – it felt like overkill from this flight attendant.”
JetBlue in a press statement denied that the removal of the wmone was because of their religion.
A spokesman said the same thing would have happened to anyone who filmed the crew and had also occurred in the past:
“This happened on arrival at LAX and did not impact the customers more than they had to wait a couple of seconds before getting off the plane.
“My understanding is that the two women who were addressed by local law enforcement were also allowed to go on their way.”
“More than 35 million customers from many cultures and backgrounds travel on JetBlue without incident each year.
“Our crewmembers’ first priority is the safe and secure operation of our flights and as a security precaution, are asked to be aware of anyone who may be filming or taking photographs of inflight procedures or the flight deck area.
“If a crewmember believes a customer may be filming safety procedures, the crewmember may report it for further review.”
“In this instance, our crewmembers acted in accordance with security procedures. We appreciate our customers’ patience and cooperation, and apologise for the inconvenience.”
The police were responding to a report from cabin crew that the women were recording “sensitive inflight activities,” the spokesman added, saying the response was a standard security procedure.
“We have to do due diligence to make sure everyone is on the up and up,” he said.

Luck is pouring in torrents on bread hawker turned model Olajumoke Orisaguna as she raked in millions in the last one week!
According to Encomium, the married 27 year-old hairstylist from Iree (Osun State), who came to Lagos in January to hawk bread to make ends meet, got over N1 million as ambassador of Shirley Confectionery in Abuja on Saturday, February 27, 2016.
That day, another N500,00 was presented to her by the owner of Biobak Restaurant (Mrs. Abiodun Obakin) as a gift.
On her trip to Abuja (Federal Capital Territory) on the invitation of the owners of Shirley Confectionery (Amarachi and Adaora Iwuanyanwu), she was treated like a celebrity.
Apart from staying in a suite in Transcorp Hilton for the weekend, she was ferried around town in a convoy of three jeeps.
The Abuja trip started with a photo-shoot at Transcorp Hilton for Shirley Confectionery. She was also treated to some shopping, and got about four beautiful outfits from a top designer in Abuja (Dyzn).
At the bakery where a promo was organized for customers, they got one item free for every item bought (buy-one-get-one-free-bonanza).
Olajumoke Orisaguna interacted with customers of Shirley Confectionery and handed them the gifts.
She eventually got a surprise N500,000 cheque from Mrs. Abiodun Obakin, the woman behind the popular Biobak Restaurant in Abuja.
Olajumoke’s mum, grandmum and siblings
The exciting Abuja trip, Orisaguna’s first time on a plane, was more than rewarding…with almost N2 million in her kitty, apart from the star treatment.
This week, the abundantly blessed mother of two daughters (Grace, 5, and Precious, 16 months) discovered by celebrity photographer, TY Bello, will move into a three-bedroom apartment in Aguda (Surulere, Lagos), courtesy of Sujimoto Construction’s Sijibomi Ogundele. The apartment comes fully furnished.
The Orisagunas (Jumoke, Sunday, Grace and Precious), who have made a hotel in Oyadiran Estate, Sabo (Yaba, Lagos) home since they found fame in the middle of February, will make Surulere their new residence, a far cry from their one-room apartment in her mother-in-law’s house in Iree (Osun).
The Oyadiran Estate place was found and paid for by TY Bello (who has declined to benefit financially from Olajumoke’s fortunes).
Along with Azuka Ogujiuba (the famous society reporter with ThisDay who suggested Jumoke’s picture should be used on the cover of ThisDay Style) and her lawyer, TY Bello has not made a kobo, by choice, on the bread hawker turned model.
Editor-in-Chief of Genevieve Magazine, Betty Irabor thinks its inappropriate for parents to post their children’s photos online. She has urged parents and guardians to think twice before posting images of their kids online, as they could unknowingly be putting their children at risk.
Below is what she wrote:
“With all the kidnapping going on, parents may need to think twice before posting pictures of their kids on social media.
I once saw a picture posted by an actor of himself and daughter in school uniform. I knew the school uniform because my daughter attended the same school. Imagine if someone wanted to kidnap that child; they know where to lay siege.
Let’s exercise restraint when posting family pictures as well as the information we inadvertently provide to those who may be predators”
Following the collapse of a five-storey building under construction on Kushenla Road, Ikate Elegushi, Lekki on Tuesday, the Police on Thursday said Richard Nyong, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Lekki Gardens, the construction company behind the collapsed building, has been detained at Panti Police Station.
Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos, Mrs. Dolapo Badmos, who confirmed Nyong’s arrest, said he will be charged to court as soon as investigations are completed.
On Wednesday, Governor Ambode had ordered all Directors of Lekki Worldwide Estate Limited to submit themselves to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, within the next twenty four hours or face immediate arrest.
Nyong complied with the directive and reported himself to the office of the Commissioner of Police in company of his lawyer, Mr. Wole Olanipekun (SAN) and was detained after interrogation.
It would be recalled that the Lagos State Government in the wake of the building collapse, revealed that preliminary reports and investigation, it was discovered that the collapsed building was served contravention notice for exceeding the approved floors and thereafter sealed by the Lagos State Building Control Agency.
The government also discovered that in a brazen act of defiance and impunity, the owners of the building, Messrs Lekki Worldwide Estate Limited, the promoters of Lekki Gardens, criminally unsealed the property and continued building beyond the approved floors until the unfortunate incident of Tuesday which has led to the death of over 30 persons.
Governor Ambode who is said to be irked at the spate of building collapse in the state had vowed to wield the big stick so as to put a stop to the disturbing trend.
24 year-old Jordan James Parke is the superfan of superfans. The Kim K-obsessed lad has spent over £100K on surgery in a bid to look like the reality star.
Now, after countless procedures including two nose jobs, a chin implant, 50 lip-filling operations, eyebrow tattoos, Botox injections in several areas and laser hair removal, he has transformed and he looks completely unrecognizable in pre-surgery photos.
Jordan is recovering from his latest cosmetic surgery which includes; a second nose job, a chin implant and jawline and neck liposuction all in one operation. The chin job was inspired by Kylie.
He had to fly to Portland for the nose job after his original surgeon refused him a second nose job.
Just hours after waking up, Jordan said:
“I’ve had another nose job, a chin implant and jaw line and neck liposuction. I just thought, you know what, I wanted it all done, so just get it done in one op.”
He wasn’t happy with his first nose job, felt it was “too big” so he printed photos of Kim K to show the surgeon in Portland. “I showed them a picture of Kim for my nose, and said ‘this is how I want it”.
Kim isn’t his only inspiration though.
“I wanted my chin like Kylie Jenner’s, with a really defined jawline. I love her jawline and she’s got such a sharp chin,”
It’s the whole family now, but mainly Kim. But I love them all, their looks, the way they dress, they’re just an inspiration.”
He says his next procedure will be a “Brazilian butt lift”. Predictably, his mum isn’t to happy about his excesses.
“My mum hates me getting stuff done, and my Nan hates it too. They just warned me ‘watch what you’re doing, don’t have it too small. Don’t go crazy’. But I only told them about the nose job this time. I just mentioned the chin implant, and my nan was like ‘why the hell would you have a chin implant’?” But I’m really lucky, all my family support me no matter what, even if they don’t approve with what I do. They’re all there for me.”
He said he’s not planning to stop any time soon however:
“There’s no end! There’s no end.I’m on this journey now, and it will never end, it will keep going from there. I just can’t wait to see myself in 15 years. I’ll be like Joan Rivers. I’ll defy age.”
Jordan is yet to meet the Kardashians, but he’s planning to do more filming in the States this year, he said:
“That’s hopefully going to come soon [meeting them], fingers crossed.”
At least we can say one part of the P’Square duo, put an end to the feud cause judging on the way the news was revealed, we ain’t sure if the brawl is really finalized with the “two“.
Recall that in September 2015, famous Nigerian music duo, Psquare and Soundcity TV were involved in a very tough twitter war.
Soundcity at that time had curbed airing videos by the Nigeria’s pop twins since January of that year. According to them, they had invited the singing duo to an event but they insisted that the Music station, pay a certain amount of money.
In a bid to negotiate with the twins, their manager and elder brother, Jude Okoye, had pointed out ‘What has Soundcity ever done for P-Square? Tell me one thing Soundcity has ever done for PSquare’
It was solely(we think ) because of that that Sound City stopped airing Psquare’s music videos.
The good news now is… they’ve reconciled… as Paul Okoye shared photos on his Instagram relating to this motion.
Big Brother Africa alumni / Kenyan celeb personality, Huddah Monroe, shared this quite raunchy photo of herself giving ladies brief hints on how they can give the perfect ‘doggy style’.

“And this is NOT how you lay down for doggy style Ladies…. Knees gotta be on a straight line with the belly and your genitals should be tightly locked into each other to form a “KNOT” then whine your waist to his …… Make a guy feel like he is stuck between HELL & HEAVEN and he doesn’t really know where to run to”
A suspected thief identified as Babatunde Ibrahim, who allegedly specializes in stealing phones, says he derives pleasure from carrying out that unlawful act.
According to PUNCH Metro, Ibrahim was arrested on Sunday by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Lagos State Police Command, at the Ikeja Along end of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway while he was returning from a burglary in the Ilupeju area of the state.
The suspect told the police that he had entered the building through the balcony door which was left ajar, and stole three phones and other valuables.
Ibrahim said he usually sold the stolen items to Sanni Azeez and Hakeem Kamoru, adding that his targets were mainly motorists trapped in gridlock.
He said:
“The act of stealing has become part of me. I am a specialist in burgling people’s houses. I used to gain entrance into any house by breaking the door or cutting window net with a razor blade. I derive pleasure in taking what does not belong to me.”
“Apart from burglary, I also operate during traffic jams, especially on Ikorodu Road, Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway and Apapa-Oshodi Expressway. The last operation I went for was at Ilupeju where luck ran out on me. I stole two Nokia phones, one BlackBerry and other valuables. The receivers of the phones I stole are Sanni (Azeez) and Hakeem (Kamoru). They live on Akala Street, Mushin.”
It was learnt that Ibrahim’s confession, led to the arrest of the two accomplices. The RRS, Commander, Olatunji Disu, said his men gave Ibrahim a chase after noticing that his movement was suspicious, adding that he was arrested when he could not give satisfactory answers to questions they asked him.
He said:
“We noticed his suspicious movement. He wanted to drop his bag in one corner, but when he found out that we had seen him, he bolted. But we gave him a chase and caught up with him. We conducted a thorough check on his bag where we recovered the stolen items.”
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, said the suspect would be charged to court after the conclusion of investigation.
Inspite of all the hate surrounding the couple, they seem to keep on going strong by the day. Reality TV Star, Kylie Jenner and her boyfriend, rapper, Tyga, with their friends paid a visit to the Universal Studios in Orlando.
Honestly, this photo wowed me…. Like it literally did! I keep on wondering why women are so psyched with heavy make-up when they actually look as good as Monalisa without it. Who can understand women though?
Stunning model, Blac Chyna took a break from her beau, Rob to go for a workout. The stunner was spotted without makeup and boy oh boy! does she look good.
The driver of the Lexus SUV in which Minister of State (Labor and Employment) James Ocholi died may face prosecution, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir David Lawal, said yesterday.
An interim report of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) claims that the driver, James Elegbede, was over speeding and had no license.
Speaking with State House correspondents at the end of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, the SGF said the final report on the accident will determine if Elegbede will be prosecuted.
He said:
“As to the issue of whether we would prosecute the driver, yes, Nigeria is not short of laws; the problem is that Nigerians find it very difficult to obey the laws.
“There is a speed limit in place and so if anybody chooses not to obey the traffic laws, of course, it is subject to prosecution by the agencies concerned. But as to this particular incident, I think we will leave it until the final report of the investigation comes out.
“But, of course, as we say, accident is accident and nobody goes out deliberately to summersault and die, but as to allegations you claimed from the family, we are not aware and anybody who has anything to the contrary – that they didn’t die in an accident – is free to report to the law enforcement agencies who will appropriately take it up.”
Lawal said the Federal Government did not extend automatic employment and scholarship benefits to the driver’s relatives and other surviving victims because they are alive and still on the government’s payroll.
He said:
“The government decided to give employment to the children of the late minister because he was the breadwinner and the children are now orphans. On the other hand, the driver survived and the government is taking care of their medical bills at the National Hospital and they are also government workers as some of them are policemen, SSS operatives and others.
“So they are on salary and are treated free, but God forbids that had any of them suffered the same fate as those who died, the President would have willingly included them on the list of beneficiaries.”
Ocholi, his wife and son died in an accident on Sunday on the Kaduna-Abuja road.
There are a handful of stereotypes that Africans hold against each other and this is not surprising due to the multi-cultural structure of our society.
Nigeria has over 500 ethnic groups. Among the 500, about 9 languages are extinct while only three are -Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba- leading the pack, and each one of these tribal groups have their peculiarities.
The Igbos of Southeastern, Nigeria are one of the leading ethnic groups in the country. They can be found in Enugu, Anambra, Ebonyi, Imo, and Abia. Despite these peculiarities, a handful of Nigerians have some misconceptions about this amazing ethnic group.
Jovago.com, Africa’s No 1 hotel booking portal identifies 5 stereotypes that Nigerians have about persons of Igbo extraction and offers facts that debunk them.
They know nothing but business
Let’s give it to the Igbos, when it comes to business, there is no contest. At major markets, they are dominant. In fact, in places where you do not imagine that you will find them, they are always there.
But, there is more to this people than business. You find them in politics, literature, education, economy and other sectors. Late Nnamdi Azikiwe, was a businessman, first prime minister of Nigeria and a nationalist as well as a lawyer.
The literary lord, the man of words and the author of the evergreen bookThings Fall Apart that made the world change their perception about African literature, late Chinua Achebe was not a businessman, same with Chiwetel Ejiofor, and also Chimamanda Adichie.
The list is endless. Take it or leave it, no matter the field an Igbo Man ventures into, the business trait tails him.
So many of us, sorry, the whole of us, are yet to see her new born baby “Saint“, as she is yet to share any image of her child at all.
However, the mother of two is telling us that she’s always with her baby as she was spotted rocking a silver choker, which had the inscription “Saint” on it.
She was filming an upcoming episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians with Kourtney and also showed off her hot post baby body.
Our 21st century celebrity sensation who says he is making history is back again with a brand new motion… this time, he’s slamming em fake friends!
Kanye West took to his most favorite Social media platform, twitter, to praise Oliver Rousteing of Balmain for designing a collection around his wife, Kim.
The rapper also called his wife, “our modern day everything“. He said there are so many fake friends in the fashion world and wants people to know he loves his ripped homeless sweaters.
A quite angry wife ripped off her husband’s testicles after he forgot to give her flowers on International Women’s Day… and then refused to help her with housework, Daily Mirror reports.
Ionel Popa, 39, had to be rushed to hospital with his scrotum torn open after the incident.
And the wife, from the village of Dragomiresti in Romania’s north eastern Vaslui County, has remained unrepentant.
According to local reports she said that she did not know her own strength, but insisted that he deserved what had happened.
A paramedic at the scene said:
“The man had a severe open wound on his scrotum. “He told us his wife had attacked him because he did not give her flowers for International Woman’s Day.”
He had to undergo emergency surgery to repair the damage. His wife, Marinela Benea, said:
“Ionel had been given a bottle of wine for a day’s work instead of getting paid, and had arrived home drunk. When he gets drunk, he changes. All night he made me keep the fire on because he was cold and I did it to avoid having an argument.
“In the morning I opened the curtains and told him to go out and do some work, or at least to help with the household chores but he shouted that I’m not entitled to give him orders.I told him he was not any kind of man and I grabbed his balls. It was not my fault that he pulled away, and that’s when it happened.
“I thought maybe that some ice would solve the problem, but he insisted on calling an ambulance. He was pretty annoyed.”
According to reports, the couple have been together for 15 years.
They have a 15-year-old son together. The husband remains in hospital in a stable condition.
A woman who has been cheated on has zero chills, I mean, literally NO CHILLS AT ALL!!!
So here’s what went down with a woman who was cheated on and apparently didn’t take it well… The assistant manager of the Hartlepool United had his affair exposed by his furious wife, who hacked into his Twitter account.
Sam Collins, was accused by is furious wife of cheating in a series of tweets on his personal account which were later deleted.
Collins’ wife Clare denied that she deleted the tweets from his account – but confirmed her feelings – when questioned.
Replying to a tweet from former footballer Leon Knight, she wrote: “not me I don’t give a **** who sees it I hope he feels as meaningless as I do !”
Speaking to The Sun, she said:
“I tweeted it. But I don’t want to say anything more for the sake of our children.”
Collins himself claimed he is no longer seeing the other woman. He said:
“I came home yesterday to tell her everything. I was hoping it was something we would deal with between us.
“Claire has done what she has done with it. She’s put it on Twitter.
When asked if his affair was over, he said: “I have not even spoken to her since yesterday… but it will be.”
