A 21-year-old student of the University of Lagos identified as Chidinma, has been arrested and paraded for allegedly killing the Chief Executive Officer, Super TV, Usifo Ataga, in Lagos.
Recall that some days ago, news made the rounds that the SUPER TV boss was murdered in a Lekki Apartment, and the suspect also used his ATM cards to withdraw funds from his account after the gruesome act.
Chidinma has now given some closure as to why she committed the crime.
She told newsmen ;
We were in the lodge smoking. He was trying to make advances on me. I was tired and he became violent on it. I let him have his way. Towards afternoon, he ordered roofies. We took it together and ate food. He became high. I was still not happy with the first one (sex) that we had, so, I was staying on my own, smoking and drinking. He, too, was on his own.
“He came to me and I was like I am not happy with what he did. I was like, ‘You don’t help me, you don’t assist me with anything, you are just playing with me around’. He was like, ‘Take my ATM and withdraw what you want’.
“He later became violent trying to get to me and I was resisting and defending myself. At some point, he hit my head on the wall and I also retaliated.
“At some point, he was chasing me around the kitchen cabinet. I took a knife and stabbed his neck. I approached the door and he followed me. I stabbed him twice on the neck side. I threw the knife to the bed and he was going for it but I also went for it. He dragged the knife with me and it broke and he fell on the floor.”
It’s believed that the mistress carried out the murder as security guards at the rentals confirmed that no third party had visited the lovers besides a dispatch rider, who is suspected to have brought the lethal drug to the mistress.

Actor, Omiyinka Olanrewaju James otherwise known as Baba Ijesha, has pleaded not guilty to the sexual assault and abuse of a minor charges filed against him.
The embattled thespian Baba is currently being arraigned before the Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo-led court and during the court proceedings, counsel to the Lagos state government, Olayinka Adeyemi, informed the court that the state had filed six-count charges against the defendant urging the court to take his plea.
However, Baba Ijesha pleaded not guilty to all the charges levelled against him. The state counsel then asked for a trial date while asking the court to remand the defendant in a correctional facility pending commencement of trial.
The actor’s legal team which had among it two Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Mr. Babatunde Ogala and Mr. Dada Awosika, along with 17 others, informed the court that they had filed a bail application and have served same on the prosecuting team. Ogala urged the court to grant them an audience to argue the bail application.
Recall that in April Baba Ijesha was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting comedienne, Princess 14-year-old foster daughter since she was 7.
Disgraced Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka otherwise known as Baba Ijesha has been granted bail of two million naira.
According to the ruling of Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Ikeja Special Offences Court, the actor who is charged with a six-count charge bordering on the indecent treatment of a minor, sexual assault, attempted sexual assault by penetration, and sexual assault by penetration is to be released on bail, Daily Post reports.
The court session held today and bail was granted on the condition that the defendant must produce two sureties; a blood relative of Baba Ijesha and the other must be a lawyer.
Baba Ijesha will remain in custody till the bail of two million naira and the two sureties are met.

A 30-year-old India based Nigerian man has died after was reportedly held captive and starved for eight months by his landlord.
It was gathered that the victim identified as Michael Emenike Madueke, couldn’t pay his rent during the pandemic, and his landlord evicted him and locked him up without food in another apartment.
Madueke was found bedridden and malnourished by police in the apartment located at Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad. Unfortunately he lost his life on the way to the hospital.
A Facebook page, @Un-Fair Web who shared the story on the platform wrote,
“Michael Emenike Madueke (30 years) a Nigerian citizen was (allegedly)locked up by his landlord due to non-payment of 6 months rent during the pandemic in Raj Nagar extension, Ghaziabad. He was evicted from his rental apartment and held against his rights and wishes for close to 8 months in another apartment (SG Impressions) by the landlord. Here, he was regularly beaten up and kept without food and only water. When his brother in Nigeria transferred Rs. 42000.00 to the landlord (Mr. Omveer Rahul) his state of incarceration and treatment was discovered.
During his transport to the hospital on being rescued (between Apex hospital and AIIMS) he succumbed to the ill-treatment and died. An FIR is yet to be filed by the police at the station”.
Meanwhile, a Nigerian activist, Kennedy alleged that the deceased, an auto parts dealer died from abuse and starvation after he was held against his wishes for about 8 months in the apartment by his India landlord.
In videos of Emenike’s rescue that was recorded by Nigerian Citizens Welfare Association, a group of expats headed by Kennedy, the victim who already looked extremely lean and pale is heard saying “He wants more money everyday.”
Kennedy said Michael’s family in Nigeria had sent Rs 42,000 in two instalments to Rahul. It is not clear how much Michael owed Rahul.
“We have not filed a formal police complaint yet as we are waiting for what his family and the Nigerian High Commission tell us,” He added.
However, the police said they had not yet found evidence to back up the charge. No external injuries were found by a doctor who first attended to him.
The report from the emergency department of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences recorded “MICHEAL” (sic) a 30 years old male, ‘BROUGHT DEAD, PENDING INVESTIGATION” at 8.08 pm.

Infinix has successfully positioned itself as one of the Fastest-Growing Mobile Phone Brands in Africa and recently released the Infinix Note 10 Pro — which matched the leaks reported by the XDA blog.
Another leak from the XDA blog reveals that Infinix might be releasing a phone with a 160W charging capacity. Earlier in the month, the XDA blog reported that Infinix’s next phone could support super-fast 160W charging, and now they have released images of an upcoming Infinix phone with an interesting design.
The Image above shows off an upcoming Infinix phone, which appears to have at least two cameras (though one could be a depth sensor), a USB Type-C port, stereo speakers, and a 3D glass display with a hole-punch camera in the top-left corner.
At the back of the phone, it has the inscription of the word ‘NOW’ in bold letters. Which looks a bit like the Realme GT 5G and Realme 8 Pro. The XDA blog reports that, all this has happened before, and all this will happen again.
Unfortunately, there isn’t much information about the phone except the image above. There is no information about the internal hardware or the name of the phone. It is possible that the 160W charger infinix is working on is for this device, at the same time, it is also possible that it is not.
Infinix recently released the Note 10 Pro, a budget flagship with a MediaTek Helio G95 chipset, 6.95-inch 90Hz LCD screen, and an Android 11. Maybe they’re working on another device entirely or maybe it’s a phone. We’d just have to keep our fingers crossed and see what next Infinix has in store for us.
Nigerian music producer, Samklef has berated Nigerian singer, Seun Kuti over his comments on Wizkid’s Grammy Award win.
Ever since legendary singer, Wizkid won the Best Music Video for his role on Beyoncé’s ‘Brown Skin Girl’ at the 63rd Grammy Award, Seun has repeatedly thrown shades at him, claiming it’s wrong to address Wizkid as a Grammy nominee or winner because the win was from a feature with an international artiste.
However, Samklef who disagrees with Seun Kuti’s has taken to social media to rebuke his comments.
According to the producer, “a win is a win” regardless of how it was won.
In his words,
“Seun you need to calm down .. person get nomination but no win and another person get nomination by music video and win .. to win Grammys no be beans regardless of how you win … a win is a win. FELA DID NOT TEACH U TO REBEL AGAINST THE YOUNG ONES. Practice what u preach. Is this how u want be a president or run a party. Fela wept.

Popular Nigerian Actress, Mercy Aigbe, has called on Nigerians to beg her estranged husband Lanre Gentry to sign the divorce papers.
Mercy Aigbe made the request in a recent interview with the Punch.
Recall that on Father’s day, the estranged couple fought dirty via social media and it revealed that there was so much contempt and resentment between them.
Mercy, in her interview, admitted that the divorce has not been finalized but it’s only because Lanre Gentry has refused to sign the papers.
In her words ;
Please, everyone should appeal to him to sign the divorce papers. He has even refused to accept them. We are still married and not yet divorced. The divorce is not yet finalised. Maybe I should use this medium to appeal, you guys should help me beg him to let me go.

Iconic singer and Grammy award winner, Wizkid has replied Seun Kuti after the latter shaded him over Grammy Award.
Recall that Afrobeat singer, Oluseun Anikulapo Kuti, has earlier taken to social media to shade Wizkid over his Grammy Award. He reiterated that it’s wrong to consider Nigerian artiste who are nominated as a result of featuring in a song with an international artiste, Grammy nominees.
However, when Wizkid took delivery of his Grammy plaque yesterday his fans took to social media to drag Seun Kuti and reminded him of his statement.
Amid the backlash, Seun again took to his Instagram page to reveal he still stands by his opinion and slammed Wizkid’s fans.

Nollywood actress, Charity Nnaji has shared her thoughts about the cause of the increasing rate of “bleaching” in the movie industry.
She took to her Instagram stories to opine that movie producers are to be blamed for the surge in bleaching among Nollywood actresses.
According to her, most producers cast light-skinned girls in their movies which has made dark-skinned girls to bleach their skins inorder to fit in and get jobs.
Nnaji advised movie producers to invest in good filming equipment so that the movie quality will be high and colorful, regardless of the complexion of the actress.

BBNaija lockdown finalist, Nengi Rebecca Hampson has addressed claims that she had something intimate with her colleague, Kiddwaya, in the bathroom.
During the BBNaija reunion show, Ka3na had accused her of flirting with Kidd, despite knowing that he was in a situationship with Erica.
Thereafter a video footage from the house which showed Nengi and Kiddwaya dancing intimately at a Saturday night party was shown. The video also showed the moment they were in a suggestive position in the bathroom.

A 23-year-old suspect has narrated how he lures girl on photo sharing app, Instagram, gets them to have sex with him and later blackmails them with their nudes.
The suspected while speaking to news men confessed to have lured several unsuspecting ladies on Instagram for many years till he was recently nabbed.
The Port Harcourt based man denied drugging his victims and revealed he charges them to delete the nude photos and videos.
Speaking on the amount he charges he said, “No specific amount. Some pay 100, some 50. The girl that made them arrest me, she sent N300, 000.”
“I have been on Instagram for several years I meet females online. I tell them about hookups. When they accept, they pay connection fee, pay their flight ticket from wherever they are to Port Harcourt. They pay the hotel fee. After having sex, I leave them stranded in the hotel and run away.
So of them, they would call me and I would tell them I am no more interested that it is a scam. Some of them I will tell them they shoyld send money for me to delete their nude pictures”. He added.

In a statement to The Cable Lifestyle, Cuppy said she visited her family’s farm in Epe, Lagos, where she recorded series of ambient and animal sound samples used in the album.
“I went back to my roots, where I am from; Epe and mixed with the locals for inspiration, I visited my family’s farm and recorded lots of ambient and animal sound samples. If you listen very carefully you can hear these in each track,” She said.
