Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Ibrahim Attahiru, has reportedly died, after an Air-force plane conveying him and 11 others, crashed in Kaduna State, on Friday evening, May 21.

According to reports, the plane which crashed at the Kaduna International Airport around 6pm, exploded and got burnt completely.

Mr Attahiru was appointed chief of army staff on January 26, succeeding Tukur Buratai. He was 54.

Mr Attahiru was killed alongside other military chiefs who were on the same flight, sources said. The presidency has already been briefed about the development.

The Nigerian Air Force has now issued a statement confirming that there was a crash, but did not immediately say the personalities onboard.

Abang Ogon, the Special Assistant to the Governor of Cross Rivers State on Student Affairs, has requested to resign from his position, following Ben Ayade’s defection from PDP to APC.

It was gathered that Abang wrote a resignation letter to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), after Ayade announced his departure from the opposition party.

Mrs Olumekun gave birth to a handsome baby boy sixteen years after her last child.

The Edo State Police Command has arrested an Akwa Ibom man for allegedly assaulting his young step son for “stealing 20 naira”.

According to a neighbour, who spoke to activist and coordinator of human rights group, Talakwa Parliament, the suspect allegedly tortured the young boy, burned his body with a hot knife over claims that he stole N20 to buy groundnut and sugar to drink Garri.

It was gathered that the incident happened at Erediuwa Quarter off Sapele Road in Benin City, Edo state on Saturday, May 16th, and the suspect has now been arrested.

In other news, a 14-year-old girl whose father had the habit of inserting his fingers inside her genitals to check if she is still a virgin at their home in Enugu state, has been rescued and reunited with her mother.

Activist, Gwamnishu Emefiena Harrison, who shared the story online, said the young girl ran to his NGO, to confide in officials about what she had been going through.

The son of Hon.Kunle Bakare, a former SA on Environment to ex-governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, was reportedly killed in a gas explosion that rocked Conference Hotel, Abeokuta.

It was earlier reported that a technician and a yet-to-be identified persons were confirmed dead in a gas explosion that rocked Conference Hotel, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.

The young man who died alongside the Technician has now been identified as Olamide Jamiu Olamide, the son of Senator Ibikunle Amosun’s former aide.

The deceased was buried in Abeokuta Cemetery on Wednesday morning, May 19th, while friends, colleagues, party members have condoled with Hon. Bakare on the death of his son.

A Facebook user identified as Prince Adedapo David Oluwadamilare, wrote,

“My sincere condolence to my brother Hon Bakare former SA on Environment to Gov Amosun, on the demise of his son who was a victim of the gas explosion at Conference Hotel, Abeokuta. This is very hard to bear especially as I learnt he is so dear to you the parent (the only child of his mother). Words fail me, yet I must pray the good Lord to please comfort you and your wife. My dear Brother, it is well. May God grant Olamide eternal rest.”

A concerned fan has taken to social media to give singer, Davido, free financial advise, after he splashed millions of naira to acquire a 2021 Rolls Royce.

According to the fan, identified as Daniel Regha on Twitter, the DMW boss who recently rewarded himself with a brand new exotic new whip is misusing his wealth and needs to save for rainy days.

Daniel is of the opinion that Davido doesn’t need the whip he added to his fleet of cars , and has only wasted money buying it.

Speaking further the self styled financial adviser noted that the award winning singer has only succeeded in making youth desperate to make quick money, with the way he flaunts his wealth on social media.

Expressing his concern via Twitter, Daniel wrote,

“Davido but invest ur wealth & save for a rainy day; U are m!susing ur wealth purchasing multiple cars u don’t need. Furthermore, when u purchase things, u shouldn’t flaunt them cos doing that make some people especially the youths become desperate to make quick money”.

Ultimate Love star, Iyke has revealed why he proposed to his girlfriend and co-star, Theresa, despite his young age.

It can be recalled that the first runners-up of the maiden edition of the reality TV show got engaged on Theresa’s 25th birthday on May 19 and the grand proposal was streamed live on Instagram.

The video captured the moment Theresa walked into a well decorated room with flowers, balloons, confetti and a wall board which reads “Will you marry me?”. Iyke went on one knee and asked her to be his wife; and she said YES.

Speaking on why he decided to pop the big question early, Iyke stated that he has found his “good thing” and he intends to keep it.

The 25-year-old brand influencer said,

“Some people might say why are you doing this, you are still young, you can still flex, you still have time…but I say no, when you find a good thing, you keep it.”

Davido reacts as a journalist reveals what he found about his late mother

Nigerian singer, David Adeleke aka Davido has reacted after a journalist revealed what he found out about his late mother, Veronica Adeleke.

The Investigative journalist, identified as Jackson Ude, took to Twitter to share the good reports he got from his friend about Davido’s mother.

According to Ude’s friend, he knew Mrs Veronica from way back when the Adeleke family were still residing in Atlanta and Davido was still a child. He described her as a very nice woman and said she used to give free lunch to him and his colleagues.

He tweeted,

“I met a friend today. He has plenty good stories about the late mom of @davido. He described her a very nice woman who in Atlanta, would cook lunch and drive the food in her Rolls Royce to share at his work place for him and colleagues to eat. He said @davido was a baby then.”

In reaction, Davido said the journalist’s statement about his mom is nothing but the truth.

He quoted the tweet and wrote, “Facts”.

Kemi Ayorinde, baby mama of popular Nigerian singer, Lyta, has continued to call him out over his inability to provide for the upkeep of their son.

Kemi who recently took to her Insta-Story to share posts hinting that the young singer is not actively taking financial responsibility for the child they share, has given a total estimate of the amount he has spent on their son since he was born.

According to her, her baby daddy has provided just N40,000 ever since the young boy was born.

She made this shocking revelation during an Instagram live session with “thepepperroom”, where she insisted she has been solely taking care of their son’s responsibility ever since he was born.

Former Big Brother Naija housemate and business woman, Uriel, has taken to social media to enlighten her fans that fame doesn’t make one rich.

In a post shared on her Insta-stories, the reality star explained that while many people would think being famous brings automatic riches, only hard work can make one rich.

According to Uriel, money does not grow on a tree and nobody cares about the other person as everyone is only striving to make it in the industry.
