Reality TV star, Erica Nlewedin has revealed that her admirers and toasters have reduced drastically since she left the BBNaija lockdown house.

The first son of the legendary singer, Boluwatife, turned 10 days ago and his mum threw a fortnite themed lavish birthday party for him.

Although the father of three celebrated Bolu on his birthday, he wasn’t present at the party. Following this, Sola via her Twitter account shared a cryptic message which fans suggest it was directed at her baby daddy.

Youths and suspected Yahoo boys protest in Osogbo; accuse EFCC officials of extortion (Photos)

A group of youths and others suspected to be internet fraudsters popularly known as ‘Yahoo Yahoo boys’ staged a protest over repeated arrests carried out in Osogbo, the Osun state capital by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).

According to reports, EFCC operatives stormed Adetunji Estate and Hallelujah Estate in Osogbo to arrest suspected internet fraudsters on Monday night, May 17 but were prevented by youths in the area who stopped them from allegedly taking away 20 vehicles belonging to the suspects.

On Tuesday morning, the suspected internet fraudsters stormed Lameco Junction and Dele Yes Sir Junction to make bonfires and mount roadblocks.

Earlier today, Nigerian author and former presidential aide, Reno Omokri insisted that a report about him welcoming a child with another woman is false and demanded that the publication be retracted.

However, the publication who broke the news have insisted that they stand by their report as it is factual and authentic. The Will had released a report on Monday, May 17, claiming Reno Omokri abandoned his wife, Tuokpe Omokri and their three children in the US and welcomed a child with a UK-based lover.

The publication released the transcript of an interview they claim they did with Reno’s wife, Tuokpe where she states that she is not the mother of his newborn daughter.

Omokri denied this report on his Facebook and said his reputation is being smeared because he planned to stage a protest against Buhari in Paris.

Reno recently took to Twitter to ask a follower of his who retweeted The Will’s report to delete it from his timeline.

“Please delete it. Don’t propagate their lies on my TL,” Reno wrote.

And The Will responded, “We stand by our story. It is accurate and factual. Your new baby is not from Tope, your wife. We await a formal rebuttal and we will respond. Liar.”

In the same vein, Nigerians have dug out a recent photo of Reno at his child’s dedication with the child’s mother.

The photo was shared earlier this month by ThisDay newspaper which Reno reshared and wrote: “Thank you ThisDay for featuring my wife and I, with our daughter, Weyinmi Ebele, on our baby dedication.”

A handful of Nigerians are of the notion that the woman looks like Reno’s wife, Tope while others say the woman who welcomed Reno’s 4th child is different and looks Ethiopian.

President Buhari seeks new N2.342tr external loan

Head of states, President Muhammadu Buhari has sought the Nigerian senate’s approval for a fresh N2.343 trillion external loan to finance the 2021 budget.

Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, read a letter from the president seeking approval for the loan during plenary today May 18.

The president recently touched down France on a four-day official visit to attend African Finance Summit which will be focused on reviewing the African economy, following shocks from the Coronavirus pandemic, and getting relief, due to increased debt burden on countries.

The Summit which is to be hosted by President Emmanuel Macron, will draw major stakeholders in the global Finance institutions and some Heads of Government, who will, collectively, discuss external funding and debt treatment for Africa, and private sector reforms.

The Statement reads in parts,

”Before returning to Nigeria, President Buhari will receive some key players in the oil and gas sector, engineering and telecommunications, European Council and European Union Representative for Foreign and Security Policy and Commission, and members of the Nigerian community.”

Governor Abiodun suspends aide arrested in the US for $350k COVID-19 unemployment benefit fraud

Ogun state governor, Dapo Abiodun has suspended his Senior Special Assistant on Special Duties, Abidemi Rufai, following his arrest in the United States.

It was earlier reported that Rufai aka Sandy Tang was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for allegedly defrauding the Washington Employment Security Department (ESD) of $350,000 during the COVID-19 pandemic. ICYMI

In reaction to the news which was announced by the United States Department of Justice on Monday, May 17, Governor Abiodun has issued a statement which was released by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin.

In the statement, the Governor condemned his aide’s alleged involvement in the fraud and described it as “disturbing”.

The statement in part reads,

“We received the very disturbing news of the arrest of one of the governor’s political appointees, Mr Abidemi Rufai in New York over alleged unemployment benefits and fraud in the United States, this morning.

While the Governor cannot be held responsible for the actions of a full grown adult, especially outside the jurisdiction of Ogun and Nigeria, he has since suspended the suspect from office to enable him answer the charges levelled against him.

The Governor wishes to condemn any act capable of undermining his determination to institute an open, transparent, accountable and morally upright behaviour in the State and in governance.

Gov. Abiodun remains committed to his agenda of building our future together and will not condone criminals either in his government or the state in general.”

In a lengthy Instagram post the businesswoman complained about how most men are now comfortable with women paying their bills. According to her, for one to be considered a man in a woman’s world, he must be in a position to provide solutions while the woman supports him.

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has reacted to viral reports alleging that he abandoned his wife and welcomed a baby with another woman.

The report which made rounds on social media on Monday, May 17th, alleged that the popular writer abandoned his wife in America and welcomed a child with his alleged UK based lover.

The lawyer has now debunked the rumour, tagging it fake. According to him, he can never engage in premarital or extramarital sex.

Taking to Facebook, he wrote,

“Yesterday (Sunday, May 16, 2021), I declared my intention to convene a #HarassBuhariOutofParis peaceful protest, between Monday, May 17, 2021 and Tuesday, May 18, 2021, and this morning we woke up to a salacious and scandalous story about me, that I will not even want to repeat.

A Nigerian proverb says the bird flew at night, and the baby died in the morning.

The story is false. If you look at the platform that originally carried the story, it becomes obvious that it is being sponsored by the Presidency, to distract me from going to Paris, because they know that the Africa-France summit is an international platform and any protest will highlight the failures of General Muhammadu Buhari.

That platform is notorious for pro-government stories. I am not the first perceived opponent of the Buhari administration to be targeted by them, neither will I be the last. You only need to visit the site.

16-year-old Ghanaian female student allegedly commits suicide in school dining hall

A 16-year-old student of Miracles Senior High School Sunyani in the Bono Region, Ghana, reportedly committed suicide in the school dinning hall.

According to viral reports the student identified as Leticia, was found hanging from the ceiling of the school dinning hall by her colleagues on Monday, May 17, 2021, around 9:45pm.

Sunyani Municipal Police Service confirmed the body of the deceased has been deposited at the morgue of Sunyani Regional Hospital for autopsy.

Popular journalist with Sunyani 88.1 FM, Hon. Asabee Asabee, who shared the tragic incident on Facebook noted that the deceased is a final year student Miracle Senior High School, located at Baakoniaba, Sunyani east municipality.

This is coming after a 15-year-old South African girl, Lufuno Mavhungu Tshirenzheni, allegedly committed suicide after she was bullied by her classmates in the school premises.

According to the Limpopo provincial police, the young girl from the Thulamela Municipality, Limpopo, allegedly committed suicide by overdosing on pills on Monday, April 12th.

Videos that surfaced online, following the incident, showed the moment the grade 10 student from Mbilwi Secondary School in the Vhembe East education district, was confronted by two other girls, said to be her classmates.

In the video, one of them signals the other to move while she got closer to the victim to slap her countless times. The victim grabs the pupil who was assaulting her in an attempt to block the blows.

Other students can be heard in the background cheering the alleged perpetrator, who is also in grade 10.

Mrs Grace Ayanbimpe, the UNIJOS professor who alongside her husband were previously abducted, have regained their freedom.

The Professor and her husband were abducted by gunmen who stormed their residence behind Haske Quarters, Lamingo in Jos North Local Government Area of the state in the early hours of Monday, May 17.

The Professor and her husband were rescued unhurt.

The Chief Magistrate in partnership with the Ministry of Justice in partnership with a private organization, Police Decongestion Scheme led by a former chairman of the NBA in Ikorodu, Bayo Akinlade, visited Panti and under the decongestion scheme, visited that facility and met Baba Ijesha.

Something was curious there. His name was not even entered as very much reliably leant. The Chief Magistrate being bold and experienced, demanded to see him and he was brought to see the team. He came towards them limping and as we have described before, he was emaciated and bail was granted to him summarily by the Chief Magistrate and this is very very commendable.”

According to Ogunlana, the bail was granted essentially on health grounds and the Magistrate said the offense is bailable.

“The conditions of bail are that Baba Ijesha must have two sureties. One of the sureties must be a level 10 officer, a civil servant. The other one should be a blood relation of the thespian.

The bail is put as N500, 000 in large sum. It’s not security. It is just a bond that if he should run away, the sureties will pay that. We are very sure he will not run away. The verification is to be done by the OC Legal of the SCID Panti.” He added.

Speaking further, Ogunlana described the release of his client on bail as good news and a victory for everyone.

In his words,

“It is not a victory for Baba Ijesha alone. It is for everybody. Rights must be respected. Laws must be respected. The idea of mob lynching, the idea of lopsided action when it comes to rights and privileges of fellow citizens should be decried”.

Speaking about her family reaction since the video went viral the lady simply identified as Debo Dacosta, revealed that her mother cried and her brother is still angry at her and vowed not to talk to her again.

Social media went agog over the weekend after a video of the beautiful busty lady in an outfit which put her bosom on display found its way to the internet.

In an interview with investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, the lady stated that although the party was a family event she would have still rocked a similar outfit to any other party.

In her words,

“I will dress the same way, for me to wear it to my family party definitely I’ll wear it to your own party too.

“Anybody can wear that dress, its because I’m busty that’s why they are shouting. If it was one celebrity that’s putting on that dress they wont say anything… What I was putting on is not bad.

“My brother called and was so angry, he was like he wont even talk to me again”.

Ogun State Gov. Abiodun’s aide and Lekki big boy arrested over $650m COVID-19 unemployment fraud in the U.S

A Senior Special Assistant to Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun and former House of Reps aspirant, Abidemi Rufai, has been arrested in the United States for allegedly defrauding the Washington Employment Security Department (ESD) during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 42-year-old —suspected in the $650m unemployment fraud— allegedly submitted dozens of unemployment claims using stolen identities between March and October 2020.

Rufai aka Sandy Tang used a single Gmail account to file 102 claims for ESD benefits and also used it to file for benefits in 10 other states.

The suspect allegedly bypassed security systems at ESD using a simple feature of Gmail which allows users to create many additional email addresses simply by adding one or more periods to the original email address.

Because the Gmail system doesn’t recognize periods, any emails sent to those so-called dot variant addresses are delivered to the inbox of the original Gmail address.

In Rufai’s case, his original email address — [email protected] — was expanded to include dot variants such as [email protected] and [email protected].

In January, a federal judge issued a warrant to Gmail, allowing investigators to search his Gmail account. Rufai however let down his guard by linking his Nigerian phone number to the account.

Although the Gmail account used his fake name, the recovery phone number was the same one he used in his 2019 U.S. visa application. Also, a Google Drive account associated with the Gmail account included the picture he used in the visa application and other government documents.

It also contained purchase confirmation emails for products that listed his brother’s address in Jamaica, New York, as the billing address. Investigators also found a massive cache of tax returns and evidence that Rufai was allegedly involved in numerous other fraud schemes.

Bank records show that $288,825 was deposited into his bank account. He was arrested on Friday, May 14, 2021 while trying to leave the U.S. He is facing up to 30 years in prison.

Nollywood Actress, Iyabo Ojo, has plegded that she will not back down from the ongoing case of sexual abuse peddled against Yoruba Actor, Olanrewaju James popularly known as Baba Ijesha.

Baba Ijesha has been in custody at the State CID, Panti, for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old-girl in the home of comedienne Adekola Adekanya, popularly called ‘Princess.’ He has however been granted bail on health grounds.

Due to the industrial strike by the Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), courts have been shut and cases adjourned.

A lawyer told FIJ that Baba Ijesha’s release on health grounds sounded more like an easy way out. The case had been forwarded by the Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.

In the video that was shared, the actress said ;

I used to think the Government is the problem of Nigeria, but i have just realized that we are our own problem.

The day we begin to take up issues that does not concern us and treat it like it’s our own problem, things will change for the better.

I will stand for that girl to get Justice, I am not backing down, Justice will be served.

Princess reacts after Baba Ijesha is granted bail on health grounds

Nigerian comedienne, Princess took to her official Instagram page to react after actor, Baba Ijesha was granted bail on health grounds.

Baba Ijesha’s lawyer said the actor was granted bail on Monday, May 17 and will be released after his bail conditions have been perfected.

It should be recalled that Baba Ijesha, whose real name is Olanrewaju James, was caught on CCTV sexually molesting Princess’ underage foster daughter. He was detained as a result.

Reacting to news he’s been granted bail, Princess shared on social media,

“I will win not immediately but definitely.”

She also added the hashtags,
