Reality TV star, Pere Egbi, has stated that the previous Big Brother Naija winners weren’t deserving of their big wins.

The two-time show participant implied that Nigerians voted emotionally instead of rationally, which is why the winners emerged as champions.

From the show’s start, the following people have won: Katung (2006), Efe (2017), Miracle (2018), Laycon (2020), Phyna (2022), White Money (2021), and Ilebaye (2023) – All Stars.

Speaking on the most recent edition of Celebrity Quickies, Pere stated that the winners of the reality show thus far would not have received the title if it were an American or South African show.

Pere stated that although he was on the just-finished All Stars edition in 2023, he won’t consent to go on the show once more if the chance arises.

He said:

“My experience in the Big Brother Naija house was a rollercoaster. I had different encounters with different people, experiences that gave me something. Overall, it was good.

But if I was asked to go back in the [BBNaija] House again, I would not. Simply because I feel Nigerians are not ready for reality TV.

A bunch of Nigerians who actually vote for these guys in these shows in Nigeria, especially, Big Brother, are just one-track minded. I’m being honest, if this was a South African or American show, I don’t think the people who won will win.”
