Nigerian influencer and entrepreneur, Adeola Diiadem, has recounted her heartbreaking ordeal in the hands of her abusive ex-boyfriend and baby daddy.
Adeola, who recently signed reality TV star, Beauty Tukura, as a brand ambassador for her business, spilled the tea in a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo.
The mother of one said she didn’t choose to be a single mother but the circumstances surrounding her pregnancy made her split from her baby daddy.
She said she was a victim of domestic violence, and her ex-partner used to physically assault her at the slightest provocation. According to her, he started beating her when she was six weeks pregnant, and didn’t consider the fact that she was carrying his child.
Speaking further, Adeola said she was supposed to marry the young man, but because of the constant assaults, she decided against proceeding with the wedding.
She however stated that she saw signs that her partner was toxic and abusive during their dating stage due to the way he talked to people around him, but she thought he would treat her differently.
Adeola, who has gone on to build a successful beauty brand, posted a snippet of the interview on her Instagram page, and said she decided to share her story to encourage other women in abusive relationships.
She wrote,
“I’m not one to talk about myself publicly. i shy away from it a lot but on set with @chudeity I realized I needed to share some parts of my journey to uplift someone and to tell you that you’re not alone. You need to go through what you’re going through atm to appreciate your destination 💗
