In a new development on the “Hijab” saga that has been on for about two days now, a Twitter user has claimed that the said lady, Firdaus who had the default in her uniform was actually begged to remove her Hijab but she refused, causing her the setback she experienced.

According to Twitter user, @Stef_23rd, he was at the Call to Bar ceremony on Wednesday and he said himself, other guests and lawyers begged Firdaus to remove her Hijab so she can be called but she refused and instead resorted to insulting them.

Some even compared Firdaus to Halima Buhari, who obviously is a Muslim and was called to bar last year, but was spotted wearing an Hijab of any sort.

    • Biddy, seeing from that angle is wrong. Let’s be objective in our thought and action. Every religion has its rites which need to be revered to which those not practicing such religion should stay away from interfering for they hv on knowledge of it. So when a religion has clash with a profession let’s not sentiment or hatred of the religion be determinant of our position to the issue rather keep mute and persuades parties involve to hv a dialogue for lasting solution for peace to reign in our beloved country. Don’t join to escalate issue with pronouncement of war. To war ,its beginning is known. No one knows it end and effects. Let pray that the issue is resolved amicably. Thanks

  1. Let do what is right irrespective of who is involved the daughter of the NBA President was called to Bar at UK with her hijab on, so what is the issue with Nigeria and religion

  2. Hijab wearing shouldn’t be turned into an illegal mode of dressing just because one is about to be called to the Bar of the legal profession. The tenets of a religion are superior to professional assumptions because religion is of God while professions are limited to the earthly pursuits of vain recognitions. So those who prevented Firdaus from being called to the Bar were unfair and seriously biased against Islam. They’re also the religious extremists who would seize every opportunity to denigrate the belief and religion of the other person. They have committed a heinous crime against faith, religion, humanity and indeed the Almighty God. Such religious acrimony should be uprooted from our daily lives if we want our Nation to progress and also remain the good believers in equity and God. It’s a shame that in Nigeria we prefer to leave the substance and chase the shadow. Hijab or no Hijab, Firdaous should be called to the Bar without further delay.

  3. This lady is the most stupid I’ve ever seen in my damn life. Now I discovered that liberalism is the greatest mindset. Yes it is her right to wear hijab, but wearing it in wrong place like such ceremony is wrong. But the Muslim world sees no wrongdoing in that, I suspected a sponsored show. She must have been paid to pit up such a stubborn stance. Judging by her attitude, she won’t be a good wife coz pleasing your man is even the best act than being religious

  4. When does wearing of hijab started in the history of law school call to bar? Has it been in practice all along or has it just started ? Would all others of different religions be allowed to put on their regalia either traditional or authodos ? Is there a religion superior to the other in the constitution of Nigeria ? If one comes in a masquerade clothes, will such be allowed to be call to bar ? Or is there any difference in RELIGION ? i demand answers to these questions pls!
