A wedding ceremony in Warri, Delta State, was disrupted on Saturday, July 15, when the hall designated for the wedding reception was overtaken by floodwater.

A viral video that made the rounds online showed the beautifully decorated hall, located along Refinery Road in Effurun, completely submerged in water.

The flooding was a result of heavy rainfall in the area, causing water levels to rise significantly. This unexpected turn of events apparently left both wedding guests and organizers disheartened and uncertain about how to proceed.

The university student had planned a surprise marriage proposal for his girlfriend in their classroom, which was occupied by a few coursemates who had come to watch the event.

The lady, who was unaware of the surprise that awaited her in the room, could be seen making her way upstairs to the classroom in the footage released online.

As soon as she walked in, her boyfriend got down on one knee, brandishing a wedding ring, and begged for her hand in marriage.
