A woman has taken to social media to share how she discovered that her husband had declared her de@d in order to access her insurance money.
According to the story, the woman had went in to the INEC office to collect her PVC when she noticed the shock on the face of the officer who scanned her NIN slip. The supervisor pointed the woman to what was displayed on the monitor and to her surprise her name displayed and her voter status read as deceased. Insisting it must have been a mistake, they printed her records and it showed that she di3d of cardiac arrest and her husband of six years served as the informant.
They told her that de@d people don’t vote and she would have to go to National Population Commission to rectify the issue before her PVC would be issued. She drove to the NPC office, paid ₦5,000 and was shown her d3ath certificate which was signed by her husband. Her Teachers’ Cooperative Society stamp was on it with her claims paid to her next of kin. She calls the secretary of the cooperation to clarify, and she was informed that her husband came with her de@th certificate a year before, cri3d over her loss, and claimed the sum of ₦2.5 million which was resourced from the wife’s life insurance contribution.
The story had left netizens stunned with most insisting that the story had to have been made up; they refused to believe that a husband would do such to his own wife.
