The bereaved mother of Precious, the sound engineer who lost his life longside Junior pope, has cried out in a recent video begging the governor of Rivers and other well-intending citizens to help her bring her son’s corpse home for burial.
The late Precious worked in the production crew of the now deceased Junior Pope the actor. They both, with two others met untimely death while travelling back on a canoe from a location.
Their death caused pain and grief for their families and loved ones of which was Precious’s mom.
Judging from their death in the river, the community allegedly upheld the tradition of burying victims of drowning beside the river. Or the families involved pay for the rituals in appeasing the river deity.
Precious’s mom could not afford the ritual fee and has begged Nigerians to help her in bringing back her son’s body for burial in their home in Rivers.
She added that her late son had been the one taking care of her as she is sick and could no longer see. She also mentioned the engineer’s landlord calling her to inform her that her son’s spirit is disturbing them in Asaba where he resided before his death.
The woman calls on Governor Fubara of Rivers state to aid in ensuring that Precious’ body is buried in his home so his spirit can finally rest.
