Lil-Kesh-Video

Ever since the announcement of the youngster, who just released his album Y.A.G.I, was made that he’s leaving the record label which brought him to limelight, there have been mixed feelings on Social media with tons of fans asking him not to leave the label.

While these fans might not want him to leave because it’s apparent that he’s a core artiste in YBNL music group, what the star doesn’t or mightn’t know is that leaving the record label will do him no good.

In recent years, we’ve had Nigerian artistes in the same shoes as Lil Kesh and truthfully, not up to 90% made it on their own when they decided to leave their respective labels that brought out the shine in them.

YBL wishes to remind Lil Kesh of these artistes, letting him know how their careers stagnated when they left their labels.

1. Wande Coal

Wande-Coal

His story has definitely gotta be the most popular cause he left two huge record labels in the space of four years!

Wande Coal’s story is akin to Lil Kesh’s cause back then, the singer decided not to renew affairs with Mo’Hits/Mavin Records after his time elapsed.

After he had issues with Don Jazzy’s MAVIN records, the coal singer went on to create his own label called Black Diamond Entertainment.

What can we say of his career since then? It has stagnated in spite of the singer working overtime to return himself to the top of Nigerian music food chain.

Who knows? Probably if he stayed with MAVIN, he too would have gotten a GLO endorsement deal like most of them did but… Oh well.
