Presidential aspirant, Atiku Abubakar, has seemingly revealed why his tweet condemning the lynching of a female student in Sokoto was deleted.
The politician had taken to Twitter to condemn the killing of the 200-level student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, Deborah Samuel, by a mob for allegedly blaspheming the Prophet Muhammad.
He condemned the mob action while calling for the perpetrators to be brought to book.
Atiku’s tweet soon came under threat from some northerners who threatened not to vote for him. This reportedly made the politician take down the tweet.
However, in a post via his verified Hausa page, the former Vice President distanced himself from the tweet. According to him, the tweet was put up without his permission.
“This evening, I received information that a post was made that doesn’t agree with my orders. I use this to announce that any post without AA is not from me. May God protect – AA”. He wrote in Hausa.
In other news, former Presidential aide and activist, Reno Omokri has warned Nigerians against calling Islam a bad religion due to the actions of some bad Muslims.
Reno gave this warning in a post shared on his Instagram page on Thursday, May 12, while addressing those berating Islam after a female student of a College of Education in Sokoto state was gruesomely killed and burnt by her colleagues over a “blasphemous” statement she made.
Reacting, Reno told Nigerians to castigate the culprits who murdered the young girl, and not the religion because there are good Muslims. According to him, there are good and bad people in all religions and people should face the culprits, not their religion.
Religion has become a political issue in this our country called Nigeria, but it does not have to be so. Religion supposed to be a spiritual matter. let love rain please, it will be the best for this country, for hate has taking and rain too long in Nigeria.
