Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) Enugu Zonal Command have apprehended 18 alleged online fraudsters in various locations within Enugu on May 1, 2023.

One of the accused is Chigozie Philips, the founder of the suspected cybercriminal training facility, Holy Family School in Abakpa, Enugu.

Kingsley Okorie, Henry Chidiebere, Michael Chukwuemeka, Joacin Kelvin, Kelechi Ibe, Chinonso James, Udeh Isaiah, and Nelson Nnaji are the thirteen of his proteges that were detained during the sting operation.

Others include Desmond James, Raymond Chinaza, Ifeanyi Ozor Bright, Etuma John, Okafor Chukwuemeka, Ozoma Chinonso Anthony, Uchenna Aka, and Ozor Celestine.

Twenty cell phones and two computers were found on the suspects. Once the investigation is complete, the suspects will be charged in court because they have provided helpful statements.

In other news, a Nigerian man received a brand new car and other expensive gifts from his in-laws as a wedding gift.

The man recently tied the knot with his bride in a traditional wedding ceremony to his heartthrob and during the ceremony, his in-laws presented him with the car and other lavish gifts.

A video showing the luxury vehicle was shared online by a party guest who advised fellow men to marry from wealthy families to enjoy such benefits.

In addition to the car, the gifts included a settee, bed frame, refrigerator, household appliances, microwave, gas cylinder, and more.
